Speaking of printers: I am really liking my new HP 7301 tank printer. Set up was very easy, and it is working like a champ. I have not done any scanning yet (I'll start that project next week) but, so far, this seems to be a very dependable printer. I have always had good luck with HP printers, so I'm glad I stayed loyal to the brand this time. I have it set up on a MacBook pro and an iMac desktop with the new M1 chip. I hope it lasts as long as my past HPs have lasted. (My friends who purchased an Epson tank printer are still having connection issues--but that might be on them and not the printer).

Any church I have gone to --ever--has mentioned an ill person in the Prayers of the People. And usually mentioned them in the announcements and in the bulletin. I'm glad she appreciated the prayer, but it really is not unusual, and nothing to post about. Or in her church, do only "important" church members get prayed for? (I'm still angry about how she treated the lady from her church who need a ride from the hospital)

I used this type of prep once, too. It was in two smaller bottles and had to be followed with more liquid. I was told it has been taken off the market, however.

I bet they are so BME can "help" with the baby. In other words, pose for more pictures with the baby. I thought Nathan preached a sermon about the evils of being on social media all the time. He needs to exert his "headship" and set some rules. Not that I think that philosophy is good, but he needs to put his foot down regarding his MIL.

Josh & Anna Smuggar: A Series of Unfortunate Events

Never mind. Someone already mentioned what I was going to say. -
Just curious. What number sibling is Jill? Does she consider herself the "boss", or is she just pushy by nature. I wonder if the rest of the family truly does have her number. I am so glad I do not have to deal with this family at the hospital. I feel so, so sorry for the staff that has to deal with this situation.

Janelle Brown: Smarter Than Your Average Brown (Maybe)
CalicoKitty replied to Rhondinella's topic in Sister Wives
Re: Janelle and her "new diet finds"--in Victorian times women would swallow a tapeworm (on purpose!) to drop pounds. Believe it or not, there are still pills available containing tapeworm eggs. I doubt Janelle will hear of this, though. As far as I know, it is not available as an MLM. Edited to add: An article I just read stated that the Tapeworm diet is illegal in the US, which suggests that it is in use elsewhere. -
He is being held, but because all babies in the NICU are monitored, we move their position often. Back, side to side, tummy. But there is always someone with them, and they are alarmed. He is safe on his tummy with his mommy. Edited to add: Babies can develop flat head syndrome if left in the same position for long periods of time. It is important that infants and babies are in different positions during the day, and that supervised "tummy time" occurs often. Babies should be placed on their back to sleep, but should be "turned" or held often while someone is with them. Sitting in a car seat for long periods can contribute to flat spots on a baby's head, too. "Back to Sleep" is important, but different positions are important, too, while supervised.

Freddy is on oxygen and is being fed by feeding tube. It may be he hasn't figured out how to swallow and breath at the same time yet, or he may have swallowed meconium. From this one picture, he does not appear to be in distress, and I don't see any IV, so it may just be a suck/swallow problem. He will probably be in NICU for a few days until he can eat and keep is oxygen sat up. They can give meds through the feeding tube if needed. We really can't tell much from this one picture.

So she is asking for a new stroller and the adaptor for car seat, but I did not see any car seat listed. I hope they already bought the car seat (new) and want the stroller that goes with it, and are not planning to use an old car seat on the stroller. Since we have already seen her put an infant seat on an umbrella stroller, and post a video about it, I hope she has learned and is going the safe route this time.

Teachers are quitting and going to other jobs all over the country. My nephew is a (very excellent) teacher in Ca, and almost everyone else in his department left this year, and he is exploring other fields of work himself. Most are leaving teaching all together. I taught for over 38 years, and I loved my job. (I was the longest employed teacher in our district when I retired). But kids--and parents--have changed so much over the years that the job has become harder and harder. When I started teaching, you could count on parent support for their child. Now it is much less so. I have come across the attitude that "my kid is your problem during the day" more than once. There are more and more demands from the state, and more and more testing. Depending on the state or the school district, salaries are lower than new teachers expect after paying for an expensive college education. It is sort of the perfect storm. I am not surprised (but am disappointed) that states are authorizing non-credentialed teachers. They are desperate to fill positions. Same with bus drivers. There are signs and ads in the paper all the time pleading for school bus drivers. I wish I knew what the answer is, but I do fear for the future of education for the children.

I hope this person does not have to learn the hard way how important spelling names really is. It seems super important to me. I have a cousin (male) whose first name is spelled Donn. He was assigned to a women's dorm and had other problems because someone in the registrar's office added an "a" on the end. Spelling matters.

I have never had a name or identity change, but my financial man told me to make sure I use my legal name on everything--DL, Social Security, insurance, bank accounts--everything. He said it is much easier for your estate to make sure it is you. Also, to collect Social Security, it is important to have everything in one name. An attorney recently told me the same thing. There have been serious financial issues when someone used two names. It is much easier to protect your identity if your name is the same on everything. I think you can and should be called by any name you would like, (middle name, nickname, new name ) but I get the idea that it is very important to have and use a legal name with a legal signature. It can really mess up your Social Security, too. (I'm still amazed that Michelle Duggar has a legal signature - I guess it is her legal signature - that uses a heart to dot the "i" in her name.). I think there will be more options and choices on all legal and medical forms in the near future, and I'm guessing probably more people will be making legal name changes. I would hate to see anyone have their finances messed up over a name.

Josh & Anna Smuggar: A Series of Unfortunate Events

She will have no choice. She will still have to stare at him adoringly and do his bidding. -
Why are these posts ending with "With Timothy Noyes"? So are random people in and out of the room asking Grandma questions all the time? I still don't understand the "friend" with the pizza talking to her in her room. Is Jill's whole gang and extended family out in the hall all the time? I certainly hope that they aren't singing loudly as they did when someone else was in the hospital (I don't remember the exact situation, but they had the little kids sing as loud as they could). I feel EXTREMELY sorry for the hospital staff. They don't need this circus.

If I remember correctly, and it was a confusing time and I might be wrong, but I seem to remember that MediCare covers the first 6 weeks in a SNF. That gives the family time to figure out finances and find another place if you need to. My dad went from the hospital to a SNF, and when that coverage ran out, we moved both of my parents to an assisted living facility that could provide the level of care that he (well, both of my parents, actually) needed. It was a VERY nice facility, and the cost for both of my parents in a large apartment was less expensive than having Dad in the SNF, or having both of my parents at home with in-home care. It is expensive, any way you choose to go, but there seem to be quite a few family members that can help share the cost. I doubt BME would be willing to share her pink drink money, however. The not-Nuries had better crank up their earring sales. And David had better keep that printing press going 23/7. Or, Jill can keep begging for money while the others support Mom and Dad. Of course, this all depends on the parents having MediCare in the first place.
