  1. I just figured, as someone who has never watched the Blacklist, it was a case of Spader being a relatively big star (multiple emmy winner, Ultron, etc) and Megan Boone being someone i have never heard of.
  2. Now I would totally expect any actor to try and get more promotion for themselves and generally not hold it against them. But is Spader being used more in the promos a case of Hollywood sexism or is it more because Spader is significantly more famous than anyone in the cast of The Blacklist?
  3. On the one hand i am glad they didn't show it, but also it would have been funny to see mother Wayne's pearls bouncing off the sidewalk as cubes because they were lego bricks.
  4. My kids occasionally watch the Guardians cartoon. In one episode they met the Avengers and there was an awesome bit about Drax not understanding why they are called The Avengers when they don't actually avenge anybody. He thought they should be called the Guardians and in turn the Guardians should be called the Avengers. I would be totally fine with them totally plagiarizing that scene since it could be really funny.
  5. This show is starting to lose me with this episode. I mean the stuff with Brian's dad was kind of interesting but could have used some humour. The Dev stuff was funny and interesting, but I generally hate Bobby Cannavale. And his tough guy celebrity chef character didn't help to change my opinion. Honestly Dev's dad really saved this episode and i was glad to see him.
  6. Also sort of a main part of the show is that the ruling class has basically gone to war with people who don't agree with them. This included independant thinking woman, gay people, catholics, Jews, along with anyone who agrees with any of those groups. And the ruling class won that war. If you told me they were also at war with racial minorities, including ones who might otherwise agree with them, and they still won, it would really hard to suspend disbelief.
  7. The noir ending was a perfect way to cap a great season. Really the only thing i think they missed was not showing us who Cyril's wife was. Because everytime Poovey mocked him for Archer screwing her it was funny.
  8. The animation in that chase scene was gorgeous. Also loved Dutch doing the Iron Man landing when he came out the window.
  9. That was a great episode. It is kind of amazing, i had thought that the slow moving plot and not enough McShane were things i didn't like. But this show barely touched the main plot and had no Mcshane and it was awesome. The idea of forgotten gods is an interesting one. At least most people still know what a leprechaun is.It would be interesting to see more gods that almost no one knows.
  10. I am right there with you. Plus I'm especially tired of hearing about how it was unfair of Fox to dump it on friday night. If you actually look at the network schedule for that year, there really isn't any other night to put it. Every other option would either put it up against a much more popular show, or require Fox to move one of their popular shows (or put it up against Angel, which would make Joss Whedon cry).
  11. Ellie Kemper really sold that onion biting story. I am honestly surprised she has never won an emmy fir this role. Also i loved the line about golden hearts being a leading cause of death in hookers.
  12. Was it a sign or a brochure or something that referred to her as "The Hot One". That made me laugh. Also kind of glad the Russ and his family storyline is done. It seems there hasn't been nearly enough Kimmy and Jacqueline scenes this season.
  13. I wonder what it will be like too. When i first heard about the whole season taking place over a few days i figured it would be so that they could extend how long Piper is part of the show. But now it seems like if anyone goes back to Litchfield it will be months before that place is ready to house prisoners again. And I really wonder how many of the current cast makes it back. And i really can't see Caputo being allowed back inside. That's what i was thinking. If you want to be captured peacefully probably a good idea to put down the gun. That said i loved how the second Piscatella was cut free by Red, Freida had the gun pointed at him ready to shoot.
  14. I have no idea how prisons in the US work, but if Litchfield is a Federal prison, why is the Governor of NY and his people trying to negotiate with the rioters? Impressed with Natasha Lyonne, because when she was in the pharmacy, the make up job they did on her made her exhaused and look like shit (which Nicky would have been). Seriously, she looked like Steve Buchemi in a wig.
  15. As much as i have been enjoying what they have been doing with Taystee, that kind of bugs. It wasn't murder, at best it was manslaughter, and even then if Bayley went on trial for manslaughter he probably wouldn't be convinced (if i was on a jury that had all the facts i am not sure i would vote guilt). Now a wrongful death civil suit against MCC and the federal government, absolutely.
  16. I don't think Piscatella has thought his "your word against mine" plan all the way through. How exactly would officials believe his story what with Red's hair brutally chopped off, using the knife that was part of his tactical gear? Even if he restrained all of the using reasonable force, not sure how he could explain that. I did like how Frieda's crew got him. Especially since she mentioned earlier in the episode how her bunker was booby trapped. Speaking of people getting their comeuppance, they better have some awesome payoff for Angie and Leanne, since they have been as annoying as shit all season.
  17. Since they are already doing it for tv broadcasts i wonder if they will just get permission to do this by rolling it all into the same part of the contract studios make with directors. Like, want the money associated with the clean version of your movie showing up on TBS? Well then you also need to let us include the same version on the dvd.
  18. Yea it kind of bugged me too. The stories were kind of interesting but at the same time it felt a lot like filler. And the seasons of this show are only 10 episodes long, so why do you need filler? One of the reasons that people seem to applaud shorter season shows is because they can focus more on plot without the need for filler. So what exactly was the point? Hell I would thing that Aziz probably has enough clout with Netflix that they would probably greenlight an anthology series about random new yorkers if he wanted to make one.
  19. Except sleeping gas isn't really a thing, unless you don't really care about killing the hostages. I know the show isn't that close to reality but going that route would just be too much for me.
  20. The razor Fred was using was an old school double edge safety razor. I shave with one of those, the top unscrews to replace the blades which are super sharp. Also since the blades a metal without being attached to anything plastic (like a disposable or cartridge razor) the blades are recyclable. Also when the career counselor group said that the pre-Gilead group was the Sons of Jacob, I was really hoping we would meet commander Ben Linus.
  21. Have they escalated demands? They posted their list of demands on the main door. The governor met the bottom two demands, which were also the easiest ones to meet then had his aide give a super non-committal response about the others. Not saying that taking hostages is the right thing to do, but I don't think they are making up more demands as the riot progresses.
  22. Boo with the suit on (especially with the upside down flag pin) playing the Law and Order theme might have been the funniest thing this season. Intersting that more and more people seem to be over it with respect to the riot and more than a little bored. Daya and now Maria were running things now they are outside. Freida found some friends to hang out in the pool, and many of the other women were taking part in the trial to kill time. And it has only been a day. I suspect things will start to fizzle out soon.
  23. So basically it's winning for the same reason that The Amazing Race one all those years in a row. Not that The Race isn't a good show but it is more about the spectacle of it all and the fact that they pull it off that is being rewarded.
  24. Alternatively Jacqueline still looked great even as a stoop crone.
  25. She said last season she shot a cop with his own gun, before realizing she may not have confessed to that crime. I always assumed she got life for multiple murders, was originally in max, but then got transferred to Litchfield either because of good behavior or just because at her age she is much less of a threat. The bunker didn't bug me that much. It seems like it would be crazy in real life, but in the world of the show, not that much. I mean even before the prison went private, it was brutally understaffed and really big. So I could see a prisoner who had been there for awhile finding a basement storage area no one was aware of and then slowly building up a stash of stuff down there. Plus consider that Frieda is friends with Red who used to run the kitchen and could basically smuggle in anything. Also the bunker isn't really that much crazier than the drainage tunnel under the greenhouse.
