  1. Maybe like Banner is getting more control the longer he stays as hulk and like along with him being able to talk (and presumably being smarter) it also makes him look more like banner.
  2. Yes, Betty Ross. I wonder if Ed Norton hadn't bee such a jackass on set of The Incredible Hulk, would Liv Tyler still be part of the mcu?
  3. She is also voices the main character on two Disney channel shows (Tangled and Sheriff Callie-yes i do have small kids) so she also has that sweet sweet disney voice over money coming in regularly.
  4. It is kind of funny that Superman Returns actually made more money than Batman Begins. But returns had so much baggage from all those other failed productions that it had almost no chance for success.
  5. Pratt was basically the fat guy from Parks and Rec when he was first cast as Starlord wasn't he? I would say that was a pretty big risk. I get it. X-men back in the day was a huge gamble and I am not sure there were a lot of name actors who wanted to do it. People joke about Halle Berry as Storm but they couldn't afford Angela Basset. The budget was only 75 million. With budgets today topping 200 million i can sort of see why they wouldn't want to take too many risks and hire people with fanbases. That said Tom Holland was pretty unknown, as was the girl who played X-23 in Logan. Plus for me i would rather that studios take a risk on stories and characters and cast them with known actors. Back i the day when I was reading comics I am pretty sure Deadpool and Black Panther were the lowest selling comics marvel put out (maybe Thunderbolts too, when is that movie happening?).
  6. On the other hand he made something like 80 million for the last one, plus all the other money they have both made in their successful careers. What could an extra 100 million get them that they can't already afford? Especially when it means a year or more away from your family.
  7. So if the young kids are Ghostbusters for Halloween I wonder what othet costumes we will see, like with Nancy and her friends. Also that funky baseline for Thriller is awesome.
  8. I was just thinking about that since I just saw Guardians 2 today. After seeing that Nebula needs to get a pretty damn awesome closure scene with Thanos at some point before he is beaten. But looking at the cast list she is like a 4th string cast member so how are they going to have time for that?
  9. Would you rather they find a way to shoehorn Natalie Portman into this?
  10. I finally saw this, since I was able to see it at the cheap theatre at a morning showing for $3.50 and it was crazy fun. I agree though that it was pretty obvious that Ego was the villain since they had gotten pretty deep into the movie without a big badguy being introduced. Ego's planted looked amazing though and the My Sweet Lord scene was beautiful. Speaking of songs when they used The Chain at the end it was probably one of the best "Hell Yeah!" moment in the MCU in a long time.
  11. Who is the giant devil thing they show. I know there are a few various devils in marvel, in the MCU Dr. Strange fights Dorammu and there is also Mephisto in the comics. So who is this guy?
  12. Will was basically a plot point in season 1, so it will be cool to actually develop him as a character.
  13. Wow that could be really awesome. Really liked the focus on Will which could really add a freshness to Season 2.
  14. That looks super awesome. I don't remember any Bruce/Thor scenes in the Avengers movies so this could be really fun. Although if Mjolnir is destroyed how is Cap supposed to lift it in Infinity War?
  15. It is more fun and interesting than a lot of stuff on this show, but so would an episode about aliens invading NYC and super heroes stopping them. But neither are this show. That said i would totally watch a show about immigrant cab drivers sharing a small apartment.
  16. Interesting, imagine what he will be able to do when writing for an actress with actual range.
  17. My only real question is, if you only have a 10 episode season why do you need a diversion?
  18. I have read a theory that part of the reason Scarlett Johansson hasn't gotten a black widow movie is for similar reasons. She was the second highest paid actor in Age of Ultron (20 million, RDJ was paid 40), a movie that had a huge cast (which meant limited time on set for her). If she was carrying her own movie she would have to be on set a lot more. And since Black Widow doesn't wear a mask or suit, you can't just replace her on camera with a stunt person in a suit or a CGI character. In which case how much more than 20 million would you have to pay her her under those circumstances?
  19. Speaking of dumb-dumbs what's the deal with Nat Faxon's character being the slacker with rich parents? I mean i know the rich kid whose parents buy his way into an Ivy League school is a huge trope, but does it actually happen? It's not like Harvard needs money what with their $37 billion+ endowment. So unless his parents donated an international airport would they really let him in vs someone who was smart and could actually contribute?
  20. I am 6 episodes in now and I think I have had a bit of a shift in my opinion on the whole Ethan/Lisa/Sam thing. Sam went from annoying to at least tolerable, and now I find Ethan super annoying (although still kind of funny in a David Brent kind of way). I mean the way he responds to not getting his way is super childish, and he seems kind of dumb (his personality is to the point where I am not sure what either woman see in him). At very least he seems not smart enough to get into Harvard (Harvard of the era they were there was also the era of Good Will Hunting). I also don't think he is smart enough to keep up a 20 year affair without his wife catching on so what is up with that. Especially since she seems way smarter than him. Then again if he and Sam had such a connection, why didn't they stay together. I hope we get some insight into that. So far this show has a ton of potential. Hopefully if it comes back for season 2 it will be like a Parks and Recreation thing where a show starts out as decent then sees a huge improvement. Of course coincidentally Billy Eichner and Keegan Michael Key were both on Parks and Rec.
  21. I did read somewhere once that part of the reason RDJ is out of the suit so much in IM3 was because marvel basically said (and negotiated) that for the amount of money they were paying him, they actually wanted him on camera. Not him just doing voice over while a stand in wearing the suit or a CGI iron man in on screen.
  22. Plus Howard would have been a total old man dad when Tony was a kid so that probably didn't help their relationship and how they related to each other. I think it would have been a lot better if whiplash was a better villain played by a better actor. I mean his power suit kind of sucked when all you had to do was shoot him to defeat him. I liked IM3 better partially because Tony seemdd to spend more time out of the suit and had to rely on his intelligence to get by and figure things out.
  23. Yea don't get me wrong hotness of one person over another is not really the kind of thing you can sustain a marriage on , but the Lisa character seems way cooler and more fun to be around, and less annoying then the Sam character. Although I am 4 episodes in and they have dialed back Sam's annoying traits a lot since the pilot. Also yes Cobie Smulders is super pretty. Back after the first season of HIMYM the cast was going to do some kind of live show at the Montreal Comedy festival. I had tickets and for some reason they cancelled the show, and to this day it bugs me, partially because from what i have read she is even better looking in real life. Also after 4 episodes i am seeing more how cringey and annoying these people. It's still funny to me though even if they are assholes who i would hate to spend time with. The music is awesome though, i haven't heard that Fade Into You song in years, and it worked perfectly. Totally the music of my youth. The age difference thing doesn't bother me that much. Maybe it is just a Canadian thing, but when I was in University (around the same time as these people would have been) not everyone was 18 in first year. Having people a few years older or more was not at all uncommon.
  24. Watched the first episode and liked it. It was weird, not really funny situations but the way people reacted made me laugh out loud more than a few times. Like the cast and so far like the characters (although i typically don't have a problem -with shows where most if not all the characters are jerks - Archer is my favourite show). Interested in watching more partially because i am curious why Keegan Michael Key would cheat on Cobie Smulders with someone not only less attractive than Cobie Smulders, but also much more annoying. What's the deal with that? Also Cut Your Hair by Pavement is an awesome and classic song.
