  1. I would say the character who has gotten the worst treatment in the MCU is Betty Ross. Completely forgotten; which is too bad because I like Liv Tyler. Too bad her character is too much associated with the Edward Norton version of the Hulk.
  2. The thing with the foreman was kind of funny. Just the way Gabby dropped her full name as if he was supposed to have heard of her. The bit thought with the Staff Sergeant was kind of fucked though since why shouldn't he be in control? It is not like he was a new recruit, and even if he hadn't been deployed anywhere being a Sergeant would mean having some experience/training in leading and controlling groups of people in stressful situations.
  3. Can anyone give me a rundown on how they retconned Shuri into existence? Wikipedia tells me she was created in 2005, so not in the BP volume 3 that i was reading. Did they try to explain that she was just off panel when those events were happening or was there other Marvel weirdness going on?
  4. I think the funniest part would be that the weird little racoon guy is probably the smartest one of them all. He would probably find Iron Man's suit cute.
  5. I remember reading about this once, and from what i can remember complete finger prints (like the kind taken when someone is arrested) can be unique to a person, or close to it. The problem is that at a crime scene you rarely get a complete perfect print. You get partials, and a computer compares them to prints on file. It does that by comparing points that are the same, then a finger print expert is supposed to look at the two prints and make sure they are the same in more that just the points. The problem is that this leads to human error, and when you only have a partial print to begin with the number of points the computer might be able to use might be lower to begin with.
  6. I thought being the Black Panther symbolized being head of the panther tribe, which is a separate title from being king. At least that is what i remember from reading comics.
  7. Yea Fury missed it too, maybe it is just with how much they talk up Peggy across the mcu that it kind of bugs me more. And even people with basic governent security clearances get background checks. Is that not something that SHIELD does, do they just hire anyone who shows up at the door?
  8. So what do you change the name of the awards to? If actions outside of what happens on the screen could get someone disqualified from an Oscar, it is no longer best actor, best screenplay or best director. And then what do you do if everyone in one category gets disqualified between nominations and awards night? Or does everyone who submits themselves to try and get a nomination have to undergo a thorough background check?
  9. Except if you are running a huge intelligence organization and are supposed to be the greatest spy who ever lived, you should be able to figure out how to run counter-intelligence within your organization to monitor for comprimised agents or moles. Especially if you already know that people recruited from Germany may have Nazi ties. It is not like this is something totally unheard of.
  10. So then what? Do you make the award best actor, actress, director or cinematographer who is also a decent person? If so when happens if after the nominees are announced it is revealed that every nominee in a catergory is a jerk? Do they not just give the award that year? I am not sure i want the Oscars trying to police things.
  11. I would only pay money if one of the other women says something like "what the fuck Peggy, how did you not realize your organization was completely infiltrated by HYDRA?".
  12. A couple of other things. Totally loved hearing Harvest Moon at Donna's party. Great song and even though I was about Haley's age at the time, it seems like the kind of song you would hear at a middle aged person party. Also liked that Joanie had a Civic. I had a mid-90's civic for a few years in my 20's and it was a fun little car. My only disappointment was that Joanie's wasn't a hatchback.
  13. Holt said at the end that the proposal belt was the original belt, only that Jake had modified it. Holt said he figured out Terry's plan with the server weeks ago. I mean is a former ultimate detective/genius. I think the funniest part was how they tried to make Jake and Amy look younger in the flashback but Boyle looked exactly the same.
  14. I read somewhere recently that the average age for a 1st time mom in the US is around 25. So a 52 year old grandmother isn't totally unheard of. I really hope that they find out that Grandma is a great person with an awesome home-life and a strong family support system. So even if Benson does keep the kid she really has to think about if she should be fighting and if he would be better off with his biological family. Hell even Dawson on Chicago Fire was smart enough to realize the kid in her care was better off with his biological family. And I hate Dawson.
  15. Considering the award is best actor, not best actor who also isn't an asshole, I am not sure i have a problem with that. Mostly because i assume there are a lot of assholes in Hollywood. You start adding some personal character requirement to awards then campainging is going to get super dirty since all you need to do to win is hire a PI to dig up dirt on your competitors. That being said, for anyone who is an actual asshole, i am all for public shaming, losing jobs and where it fits civil lawsuits or criminal proscution
  16. On thing i never understood about Polanski is that he is a fugitive right. So if an American movie company produced on of his movies, basically giving him money, isn't that aiding and abetting a fugitive?
  17. I liked Cameron talking about the concept of a recursive function since it really was Cardiff leading to Mutiny to the browser project to Comet/Rover to whatever is next and whatever is after that. And I don't think it even matters what the idea is since like the women said it would probably fall apart anyways just like all the rest of them did. And i liked how most of the companies didn't work. And kind of interesting most of the tech company names they dropped kind of went away too. Cameron worked for Atari, her ex worked for Sega. Gordon's big competition was AOL. The big browser they thought that beat them was mosaic, then Netscape. In the end they thought Comet was beaten by Yahoo (which is on it's last legs). Hell the product at the start of the series was the IBM PC, and those don't really exist anymore. Ir is just kind of funny how so many of these companies that the characters thought beat them ended being beaten by something else. Interesting commentary on how quickly tech changes. I thought Gordon was the worst in S1 too. They really did a great job of making these characters develop, change and grow. Which makes sense since the show took place over more than 10 years. Also: ahh Stoop Crone!
  18. They really did a good job of showing how Wakanda is the most technologically advanced place in the world. Which is pretty impressive considering what the rest of the MCU has. Also that action scene wit T'Challa on the roof of those cars looked really cool.
  19. That looks crazy good. I'll admit I wasn't 100% sold on this from the previous trailers, mostly because the Christopher Priest Black Panther was like my favourite comic back in the day and I wasn't sure if the movie could live up to that. But this looks super awesome, I think I will watch it again. Also if (hopefully when) we get a sequel, can Barkhad Abdi (the I'm the Captain Now guy) play Achebe?
  20. Max was super annoying and Adam Scott made it extra funny this episode. I liked the B plot but was surprised no one complimented the Captain's daughter on her trade craft.
  21. Scott is probably there. I assumed if the resolution on my laptop was much better I could see him. I do like that Nebula is there. If anyone is deserving of a chance to kick Thanos's ass it is her.
  22. I like Maria Hill as a character, but I don't think she has ever been a main hero or even a main character in any MCU movie. So I wouldn't expect her to be a main hero in a movie with something like 80 actual super heroes in it.
  23. Well on the rare times I watch live tv and see commercials for age defying creams, lotions, serums or treatments they are always directed at women. So maybe one of those products actually works.
  24. Also i am not sure if I am glad or a little disappointed that they didn't make the nerdy little kid who grows up to be Daryl at least look or act a bit like Urkel.
  25. Is it a peak tv thing or it it just really lucky timing? I am just thinking that this show came out at like the perfect time when AMCs two huge shows were winding down (Mad Men and Breaking Bad). While this show was never a hit it was never really critically destroyed like some of the other crap AMC has put out over the same time period. That combined with a loyal audience could be enough to keep it on. Especially since the only other hit AMC had is Walking Dead, and i imagine that they don't want to just be known as the zombie channel. As for the kids thing, it seems pretty common on tv to me, women either explicitly saying they don't want kids or just never expressing any interest in having them.
