  1. The rich vs poor part was interesting too. I mean the first guy said he basically had the best lawyer available, and made a deal on bail and still had to turn over $4,000 to the bail bonds company. I have a pretty decent job and savings, and even so it would be hard to lose 4 grand to pay bail on a bullshit charge. If my life was only slightly different it would be a huge hit to do that. For someone much less fortunate than me I can easily see how 4 thousand might as well be 4 million, when it comes to getting out of jail or being stuck there until trial. And 4000 was the best possible deal that the guy with the best lawyer got, surely most people don't get that offer.
  2. I meant Arnold, the big bud. He waa ok in the wedding episode but generally i find him annoying.
  3. See I am the opposite because for some unknown I fucking hate Bobby Cannavale. Not sure why but he bugs me in everything he is in. The Francesca thing is interesting. Although I am not entirely clear, is that little Mario kid with the cheeks her son? If so and she becomes Dev's girlfriend can we trade Arthur for him. For me that guy is the weak link in the show.
  4. It is like beyond just bitchy sister though. She started off being the girl everyone was pissed off at for not being able to get beer. Then she left the drunk president girl in the snow to die, lied to and manipulated the cop so that she wouldn't get asked too many questions or bear any responsibility for the death. Then she seemed to use the fact that everyone was grieving to take over the sorority. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if she wasn't running the prison before the riot is over.
  5. I am starting to get curious how many bullets that gun has. Daya shot one into the ceiling, and one into the guard's leg. The meth girl has fired it at least two times now. I mean sure the inmates still outnumber the hostages by a wide margin, but the gun without bullets reduces their power quite a bit.
  6. I think this is kind of cool. My kids are dying to see the Guardians of the Galaxy movies after i showed them the baby groot trailers. But I don't really need them learning a bunch of new words. If Disney did this i would so buy GotG.
  7. Well coke girl and rich parents girl weren't in any scenes past the first restaurant, so that was a nice touch.
  8. I don't really have much to add, other than when the victim was testifying about how the the defendant said "you may find yourself floating in the air" or some other such bullshit to hypnotize her I was really hoping the next thing he said to her was "and you may find yourself living in a shotgun shack".
  9. Probably the stand out episode for me so far at least. I love Dev's dad, and anytime he says something to try and sound cool it is super funny. The line about Michael Jordan was hilarious, and it was all his delivery.
  10. Not that great a SEAL, i mean he was almost beat in hand to hand combat by some unnamed human trafficer goon. And they didn't even bother to show how Steve beat him. I think you have it backwards, depleted uranium, is the least harmful to humans with the radioactive isotopes lowered (or depleted). The most harmful would be enriched uranium which is used in reactors. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Depleted_uranium
  11. Well the last song was just the show theme song with females replaced with Jesus.
  12. I like Maya Rudolph but the character kind of bugged. Mostly because her accent was so over the top that there was at least a word or two in each one of her lines that I didn't understand. On the plus side as far as this shows record for having actors play real people it was way better than Tina Fey as Marcia Clarke.
  13. True but it says right in the intro speech that it is a serious show about sex crimes (and sometimes monkeys in basketballs). NBC would have totally promoted this show as another wacky creation from the mind of Tina Fey (without making any reference to the sex crimes).
  14. I was wondering about that. I would assume the increase in diversity would be a factor when the Gilead types were planning on going to war. There would be a lot more minority people in positions of power in the government, business and the military. If they were conservative leaning people who might believe in your cause you probably don't want them as your enemies based on the power they wield. Especially on top of all the other groups they were trying to wipe out. If it was just white religious extremist types like we have seen at war against everyone else, them winning would be a hard sell for me in 2017.
  15. It is funny i am obviously old since i have seen a ton of scooby doo episodes in its various forms, but at the same time i have no idea what ghosting is. That said the kimmy storyline was good but the Titus/Jaqueline storyline was awesome. Like a comedy clinic give them all the awards kind of awesome. Titus trying to be straight (and the voice) was great and i always love the references to his past. All the various inappropriate attractions made me laugh and when they called the white widow that was just the icing on the cake.
  16. I also enjoyed the different variations of the remember a series of symbols challenges. Anything that mixes up so that it is not always physical/race challenges would be nice. That said for pre-merge reward challenges a always liked the challenges that are basically sumo wrestling holding a pad. Bring back those and if you did it after a tribal swap you could really mess up some alliances.
  17. What I find weird is that these assholes were being tracked by the FBI, but then the managed to blow up the white house, congress and the supreme court without anyone pointing the finger at them? I don't know there seems to be a surprisingly high number of handmaids to me. Everytime June goes out it is women in red everywhere (and many of them). There can't be that many commanders can there? What is up with that lady and why does she do everything? She runs the indoctrination centre, she manages the Handmaids posted in Boston, she investigates any rebellion or rule breaking among them and she acts as mc for rapist executions. Is it just a matter of not wanting to cast other actresses or is there something else to it? And speaking of rebellion it seems we aren't seeing more rebellion/insurgency. I mean I get that the commanders rule with an brutal iron fist, but at the same time you would kind of think that with all the brutality and executions, there would be a lot of people without a lot to live for.

    Logan (2017)

I saw it tonight (thank you second run cheap theatre) and came out feeling the same way. I have pretty good memories of seeing the first X men in University with a bunch of my friends. And i thought the same thing about movie Wolverine vs movie spiderman. Spider Man 2 was the second date i went on with my wife. Really appreicatec how brutal it was and how we got to see Wolverine go full berserker. Looking back would have loved to have seen the assault on the mansion scene from X2 shot R rated. Only little thing that bugged was that the adamantium bullet was super obvious. And i kind of wish that Xavier had gone out with a bit of a better death (althouth it was still better than his X3 death). Also to add, like most people i thought the actress who played Laura was awesome, just how she could go from pure animal fury in the fight scenes to just totally zoned out in some of the car scenes was great. And i am pretty sure i have said it before but I already feel bad for the poor bastard they cast next time they want to have Wolverine in a movie. The character is way to valuable to retire, so eventually a new one will show up, but he will have giant shoes to fill. It would be like if they recast Han Solo or something.
  19. That was awesome. I also liked how Kimmy happy that Xan gave her a review with the smiling soft serve chocolate ice cream emoji in it. I was out at a store today with my wife and 3 year old. I saw a stuffed animal of that emoji and tried to convince my 3 year old it wad chocolate ice cream and even she knew it was poop.
  20. While I really don't care what kind of showings a movie theatre has i don't really get it. I mean you are sitting in a dark theatre presumably quiet, so why does it matter who else in that same theatre?
  21. It was seriously his last call before retirement. If he dies the only thing that could have made it more cliche is if he had told Herman he used his signing bonus at his new job to buy a boat and he and Trudy were going to sail around the world (the boat would be named "live forever"). What was the deal with Cruz hanging out at the fire house if he was suspended? 60 days without pay is a significant amount of money for most people, so why is he not out teaching Zumba classes or finding some other way to bring in income? I get that filming a set and doing multiple takes with water being sprayed would probably be impossible. But there has to be some kind of work around. Give me CGI water or something.
  22. Yea I couldn't figure it out 100% either. I mean it is not like becoming a cab driver is that much better a life than your job as a crappy trinket salesman.
  23. Also keep in mind that the first season was written for NBC, so they probably would have had to be more subtle with any references to Kimmy's trauma. I mean it was already a weird enough show to begin with. That said when Ellie Kemper does rage filled serious Kimmy she is awesome. I also loved the visual of Titus drinking straight from the jar of pasta sauce like it was some kind of fancy drink.
  24. It is interesting that they were burning books and works of art, but they haven't completely clamped down on internet access. Yea it is weird. The scene with the commander and his wife makes me think that sex is only allowed with handmaids and only for procreation. Does that mean that anyone without a handmaid is not allowed to be having any sex. So in that case it could just be an offer. Also what level of society are doctors on in comparison to handmaids? June is absolutely a prisoner in this society, but we don't really know that the doctor isn't one as well. Also keep in mind that the last time we heard about someone raping a handmaid, his punishment was being brutally murdered by other handmaids. Also if sex is only for procreation why does the ceremony only happen once a month?
  25. I thought Mouch was actually elected union president, why did he just say he used to be the interim president. He also was pretty terrible and at very least should stop being the union guy even if he doesn't retire as a firefighter. Also did Herman really serve Dawson's dad so much to the point where he became a mean drunk who wouldn't leave? Isn't overserving people the kind of thing that costs bars their liquor license? Also other than on tv who goes to a bar and orders "a beer" and takes any kind of beer they are given? That is like going to a restaurant and asking for "meat".
