  1. I thought Mouch was actually elected union president, why did he just say he used to be the interim president. He also was pretty terrible and at very least should stop being the union guy even if he doesn't retire as a firefighter. Also did Herman really serve Dawson's dad so much to the point where he became a mean drunk who wouldn't leave? Isn't overserving people the kind of thing that costs bars their liquor license? Also other than on tv who goes to a bar and orders "a beer" and takes any kind of beer they are given? That is like going to a restaurant and asking for "meat".
  2. I also find it interesting that in their society they not only still have internet service, but that they haven't blocked out websites from other countries. Or would that just be the kindof thing available only to commanders? Also if their is a UN trade embargo, how are they getting things like laptops and the kind of electronics you need to mantain an internet system? If it has been years was this some kind of fantasy 100% US made computer?
  3. Agreed, so very hot. Plus i was looking at her website and was impressed that for a reality show contestant that calls themselves an actor, she has actual formal acting training (and she lists juggling and the worm under special skills). I typically assumed that any reality show person calling themselves an actor was rrally just a waiter/waitress in LA.
  4. Jacqueline forgetting Kimmy's life story was a funny running gag. The grandmother from Who's the Boss once told her that you can stand anything for 10 seconds.
  5. Seemed to be the same as last season where nothing was super fun but the whole episode was amusing throughout with nothing really bad. I did enjoy the kid and his getting progressively annoyed with Dev's Italian. As for the black and white i am not sure yet if i liked it or if i found it a trying to hard almost gimmick kind of thing. And if i really wanted to nitpick would Dev really be paying international roaming and data on his phone if he was in Italy for 3 months rather than just picking up a local SIM card?
  6. The snowmageddon episode was probably the funniest episode yet. It seems this show is improving every episode. Morning Wined Up was hilarious and something I hope they call back to. Also Katie's Frankenstein shirt made me laugh a lot.
  7. Isn't hair one of the hardest things to do well using CGI? Could be hard to do with a tv budget. I am curious if they will have her hair be CG 100% of the time or only when it is moving and then a wig when it is not. Either way the costumes look like people dressed up for a convention.
  8. I also wonder if the lack of real overt racism could just be the new government not wanting to go to war with too many groups at the same time. I mean they are alread at war with woman who won't fall inline with their policy and any sane person who sides with them. They are also at war with Catholics and Jews and gay people. Plus they probably blamed Islamic terrorists for the attack on the government so probably at war with them too. Going to war with racial minorities would put another group against them making even harder to keep control. Especially since there might be conservative minority people who could otherwise be on their side. I could totally see the commanders saying they will deal with the woman and the catholics and the jews first and then worry about the blacks and the Asians.
  9. The funny thing about the "need to be available for other work" thing is that I am not sure this show is holding Caan back from being more famous. It is not like he had to turn down the role of Star Lord to play Danno or something. Danno is probably going to be the biggest role of his career. I mean of the Ocean's 11 crew the only ones less famous than him are the acrobat guy (who isn't an actor) and the computers guy.
  10. Yea i can see racism existing but not being on the surface, not because the upper class isn't racist, but because it is not uncommon for religious fanatics to be hypocritical as fuck. Just like you have preachers or politicans in our world talking about the bible all the time then getting caught having affairs or terrorists going to strip clubs. We have already seen that in the shows world they will be slightly accepting of gay handmaids since it will provide babies. I can see it being the same with non-white people. But even weirder since a non-white handmaid means a commander with a mixed race baby. So there has to be some weird moral gymnastics to accept that. But I can still easily imagine people spouting off racial slurs the same way they accuse handmaids of being whores.
  11. After watching the first epiosde i had to watch some Archer. Also although the women getting fired scene was super fucked up, it reminded me how the last time we saw Elizabeth Moss walking down a hallway with a bankers box, it looked a lot different.
  12. I don't remember any dialog but i figured that playing Nation as her first word, after a bit of delay was a sign that June wasn't going to go easy on the commander.
  13. I also think the song was an interesting way of showing that while June's life is still terrible it has improved a super tiny amount. I am curious to find out why the commander can't play scrabble with his wife (and to find out what else he can't or won't do with her). It was also interesting that June made it a competitive game rather than then letting her captor win.
  14. I liked that Breakfast club music moment. It seemed like the first tiny bit light-hearted thing in a super serious show. I mean that was the most tense board game ever filmed. Also cutting between the births was interesting. June got a hospital with doctors and nurses and genetic tests to make sure her baby was healthy. Then when someone tried to take her baby the cops stopped them. Janine got an upstairs room in some rich lady's house, an enslaved cheering squad and an older lady quickly looking over the baby to pronounce it healthy. Then of course there was no one to stop her baby from being taken. Although I guess the lack of actual medical science makes sense considering that the handmaid program seems like a super inefficient way of making more babies.
  15. That is sort of where I am at. I find it more than a little distracting the amount of times he is not there (and they have to make up a stupid excuse or like this episode not even bother) or if he is there he is off doing some boring b-story plot all by himself. Saying Hawaii limits your employment options (if that is what he has said) just sounds like a nicer way of saying you wish you had a better job (because you wouldn't need other options if you were happy with what you had). And in reality Honolulu to LA is only about a 5 hour flight, about the same as New York to LA. Which is really why I think if he is not happy they should let him go or he should just quit.
  16. Wasn't Hank Hill's mother from Scottsdale? Maybe Schur picked it up from Greg Daniels or Paul Lieberstein during their time together working on The Office.
  17. But who else is there to tell us that racism is "turrible"?
  18. The only time I ever seem to watch CNN is on the exercise bike at the gym and it is amazing how everything either seems to be assholes in boxes arguing or "BREAKING NEWS" (even whe it is stuff that is not at all breaking). So itbwas good to see them heavily mocked. Also loved that dinners through the years and how Sam started out as Mrs. Jason Jones in the first one.
  19. Good call I was trying to think if there were any other female characters we haven't seen. Plus Pam's line about how Archer screwed Cyril's wife's tits off takes on a whole other meaning.
  20. It is kind of hard for me to sympathize, even if this one was stupid. I mean it is not like the show started out as a Hawaiian version of The Wire and slowly turned into what we have now. Plus the original version of the show ran for 12 seasons, plus it is a procedural on CBS. He should have had a pretty good idea what he was signing up for. And in this episode they didn't even bother coming up with a line for why he wasn't there. Honestly if making tons of money being on a successful show in a beautiful place like Hawaii is too much of a hardship for him he should just quit.
  21. That show was really good but super intense. So intense it makes The Man in the High Castle (a show where Hitler takes over the world) look almost like 30 Rock.
  22. Man if Steve didn't pointlessly blow that guy up they might have some better intel about what is going on. Also if we are now into Homeland style inside government conspiracies, how did the Gitmo guy hear about it?
  23. On top of that Dutch crashing was exactly like how Pee Wee Herman crashes in Pee Wee's Big Adventure. I can't believe i just watched a show where a character referenced Terminator, Pee Wee and The Wild One pretty much all at once. Also I love the running gag about how Poovey always reminds Cyril he lost his wife. Wonder if we will ever meet her.
  24. After making it through seasons of Luke Cage and Iron Fist, it was nice to be reminded how much more i enjoy Jessica Jones and Matt Murdock.
  25. Would they not be able to charge the guy with publishing shit that incited violence? After the first shooting at the restaurant he still wrote shit about it and there was another shooting. I know Jack McCoy has charged people with that sort of thing at least once or twice. The one thing I did like was that there was the big raid at the end and the Lieutenant trusted her squad to handle it without her direct supervision.
