  1. Yes, this is one of the things I don't like about PBS. I am an adult. I watch adult television all the time. I don't like blurring butts and silencing dialogue. If they were so concerned about our "delicate" little minds, they'd cancel Victoria after this episode altogether. It was horrid.
  2. I've slept on it and... I scarcely pay attention when Bertie and Vicky are on the screen. I don't care about them and could they have found two more unimpressive, dull children to play the parts? We get rid of Nancy and Charles and are saddled with Abigail (like she would fly in a royal household), the Duchess and the footman (boring and clichéd). It's one thing to take a little poetic license with historical figures and it's entirely another to write, produce and present this dreck. Fan fiction indeed! I rolled my eyes the entire time this was on. What is all the drama between Victoria and Albert? I think Daisy Goodwill (or whatever her name is) simply hates Albert and loves presenting him as petulant, dreary and uptight while Victoria is consistently painted as the doting mother and icon of modern womanhood with 21st-century sensibilities. Whatever. I want Feodora gone. If I have to look at her broad, plain face one more week I will scream. She is as bad as the duchess's husband who is simply an ass wipe. The only stars here were the dove and Palmerston's wife. Just call me totally disgruntled this week.
  3. I also work from home and I don’t need to take any action to secure my computer, it locks down on its own almost immediately if I’m not clicking the keyboard.
  4. I really dislike this show and was ready to say I am done until Regina aka Christine Moses kicked ass with her scenes. She was fabulous. As for the rest of them, with the exception of Rome, Theo and MIA Katherine, I don’t care about them and have zero interest in their drama. What is up with Delilah? Is she supposed to be the ultimate honey trap and no man can resist her? I loathe her and the actress is mediocre at best. I cannot stand Gary or Eddie. Gary harping on whether or not Eddie had sex on the road was beyond juvenile and begged disbelief in men their age. I have no idea why Maggie has become such an integral part of this group (in minutes) and is in everybody’s business. I have the same interest the dog showed in this foolishness and cannot see myself sticking around past this season unless by some miracle the show runner gets serious and gives me something worthy of my time.
  5. I can't believe this show got renewed. ABC must be desperate.
  6. I have never gotten the impression that Albert wants to be king, only that he wants to find his own work and be given simple respect for his personhood and contributions. Basically what everyone wants; well, most of us anyway. He has been living in England for how long at this point? Married to the queen and given her beautiful children to succeed her and still, the elites turn their noses up at him and omit no opportunity to sneer and point out his otherness.
  7. That’s all well and good. I don’t care and I don’t think Albert is or was “an asshole.” I still like him. You are (as always) entitled to disagree. And for the record, I have plenty of tact, but I can live vicariously through Albert. 😂 BTW, I agree about Abigail, sadly.
  8. Whenever I see the words “fan fiction” I run away screaming and crying.
  9. Yeah, Reign was pretty cringe worthy, but I loved Francis, he made the insufferable Mary tolerable. Once he died I hate watched. LOL No matter how pompous Albert is I like him and never more than when he is not allowing Victoria to run over him. Furthermore, most of the people opposing him are equally pompous and condescending.
  10. Didn’t like Nell on Outlander, but didn’t mind her here as Skerrett. I’m glad Francatelli names his place Nancy’s. A lot of this series is just so annoying because it’s so fanciful, but it’s the only thing to watch on Sunday night. Nancy died in their private quarters, not on a table in dining room.
  11. I find it hard to believe that I’m still making any attempt to watch this mess of a show. 👀
  12. Okay. I’ll bite. Who the f##k is Constance Zimmerman and why does it matter that she was only in one episode?
  13. Of all the inaccuracies in this show, this is the one people want to harp on? Okay, then. Agreed. Feodora is a pain and homely. The public fight was crazy. Royals would simply not do that, and Albert locking the door was petty, but I liked how Victoria kicked it. I guess we can fanwank that they were being private people at Osborne, not monarch and royal consort. I was thinking Bertie had either an eye issue or dyslexia, but I have no idea if that is historically accurate. Victoria knew the food rolling out of the royal kitchen was AWEsome. That's all she had to know about Francatelli. If he left, no more scrumptious desserts. I wasn't. She has shown a propensity for being snotty back in season one.
  14. See, this kind of stuff doesn’t bother me. I assumed Roger needed to give the situation a lot of thought. Basically, I don’t care where he was only that he made it to River Run, assured Bree that he loved her, and accepted the child as his son. Ditto for Jamie holding his grandson. I know that baby had been in Jamie’s arms, it would have been nice to see it, but it didn’t ruin my enjoyment of the episode because I didn’t. I do agree that J&C could have shown some concern for the woman banished from her village because she tried to help them, but honestly it’s not shocking that they didn’t. It’s always about them and their pain to the exclusion of “the other.” I also agree with you about Bree. I would have preferred to see that over Jamie holding the baby, but she did call him Da so there’s that.
  15. The fact that slave owners had the power to maim, rape, kill, etc. is the very definition of “upper hand” in my book.
  16. Oh, please. It did happen. Do we want more whitewashing of history? The fact that the white masters had the upper hand in all situations involving their captives forced into slavery doesn't change the fact that there was plenty of rape in addition to the occasional mutual feelings coupling. The indifference to slavery and the destruction of Native Americans is one of the things that bugs the crap out of me with Outlander, but apparently, the source material wasn't concerned with it, so there you go.
  17. This. This really bugs the fuck out of me.
  18. True on both points. Storytelling is like an onion, sometimes you peel back layers slowly instead of revealing everything all at once. I only have one kidney and that thought is always in the back of my mind like a ghost.
  19. I really haven’t had much to say about Outlander this season. There have been some nice moments mixed in with the why am I watching this? moments. Leave it to Claire to cause a problem. Have no idea what the deal is with the stone she was wearing. Could be explained in the books I never read and have no intention of reading, or could have been explained somewhere in the slog of this season and I forgot. Either way the bottom line is the same. It’s Claire fault again. LOL Okay, stone explained along with the ghost of the man she saw when she was lost in the woods. Good story. Bummer that the one woman who was instrumental in them getting Roger got booted out of the Mohawk village. I love Ian and his parting scene with Jamie and Claire was very, very moving. Well done by all. Will we ever see him again? Murtagh was looking mighty fine in Jocasta’s bed. That is all. Ian fared way better than Roger running the gauntlet and he’s an adopted Mohawk, not a slave. Yay! Hope Roger enjoyed his beat down of Jamie because that probably won’t happen again. Roger came back. I’m really happy about that and enjoyed his reunion with Brianna. This was may be the best episode of the season. I really liked it.
  20. That’s all well and good, but that doesn’t excuse her shitty, disrespectful attitude. I can’t stand kids who act like that or the parents who indulge such rude, entitled, bratty behavior. I don’t see where she needs any psychological help. She needs to realize the world doesn’t revolve around her ass, but the apparent lack of parenting isn’t going to help her out with that.
  21. I just watched this and haven’t read any other comments yet. Here are my thoughts. 🔹I guess the pancakes burned during that sad little cheesy walk down memory lane between Maggie and her dad. (Sorry I don’t like having my feelings manipulated.) 🔹Too bad they killed Jon off, I really like him. 🔹Ashley sure didn’t know how to read Jon. 🔹Still can’t stand Gary even if he did take in a homeless dog. 🔹Regina’s old boss was a bigger ass than the guy who grabbed her, although he would have gotten my fist in his face. 🔹Are we supposed to think better of Delilah and Eddie because they were going to tell their respective spouses they were having an affair? If so, epic failure. 🔹Jon knew; I always thought he did after hearing his message to Eddie the rat fink loser bastard. 🔹It’s impossible to know who I hate more Eddie or Delilah. 🔹I am so Team Katherine even if she was MIA this episode. 🔹The kid who plays Theo is adorable. 🔹I’m okay with Maggie, but not as much as the show would like me to be. The only reason I give her any slack is because I like the actress. 🔹To Regina’s boss: Too little too late. 🔹I think Rome has classic manic depression. 🔹Jon’s death was harder to watch the second time around. 🔹Lesson learned, be less right and more kind; you never know when you’ll lose someone you love.
  22. I really liked this episode. The humor, the way the teams are jelling and interacting with each other, and Nolan’s relationship with his son are very easy to watch. I haven’t read any other comments so I don’t know what everyone else thought yet, but I’ll post again if I have anything more to add. ETA: I must be one of the few who didn’t think Chen might be pregnant (would have been totally out of character for her) or West might be gay (because there are way too many reasons for family drama).
  23. The Good: 😻Judith died without speaking. The best gift ever. (STFU Lagertha.) 😻Ubbe vs Frodo. 😻Torvi stepping up and proving again why she is Vikings’ MVP. 😻Gunnhild breaking up the moronic fight between Finehair and Bjorn. 😻Hvitserk and Bjorn vs Ivar. Skol. The Bad: 😾Floki. Why!?! (Well, at least he’s dead so, yay?) 😾The episode jumped around all over the place and was basically a mess. (What’s the point of Lagertha’s flashbacks?) 😾Ivar failed to kill Freydis. 😾All the damn commercials.
