  1. I’m hate watching so I can snark. But Theo is the MVP. I’ve never thought Katharine mean. She is conscientious and takes her word seriously which is more than can be said for the rest of those assholes. She’s also guaranteed a place in Heaven. There is no way in hell I’d help the aptly named Delilah. And Eddie? He is just the fucking worst.
  2. I like DG well enough, but my sticking with this show doesn’t depend on his staying. The show sucks and I can’t stand his character. Obviously, you have never shopped Marshall’s or Homegoods. Those stores were crazy busy the entire Christmas shopping season. So, I get the frustration of standing in line for 20 minutes then having the person in front of you being just a jerk of a human being.
  3. I forgot this was on, so I just saw this episode. I’m really trying to like this show, but there’s just so much eye rolling crap going on that I am having difficulty justifying the loss of 40 some odd minutes every week.
  4. Why are Murtaugh's cheeks so red? They're damn distracting.
  5. Not a fan of obnoxious, bratty kids. I hope Bertie isn't in a lot of episodes. Well, at least Penge has cleaned up. He looked downright presentable. Feodora comes across as grasping and jealous in addition to being creepy. Mine, too. I was waiting for him to punch Palmerston in the face when he was making veiled threats about the queen's safety in Albert's presence. Albert is very protective of his family, especially his beloved Victoria. I thought Lord Palmerston is a pompous ass along with Sophie's husband. The actress playing Miss Turner looks like Arya's disguise before she slit Walder Frey's throat in GOT. The actor playing Joseph Weld favors Rufus Sewell a bit. I cracked up at the buggy ride with Palmerston and the Prime Minister--don't touch me! LOL I agree that the drama south of the palace is dull and uninteresting, but it was nice to see some familiar faces sprinkled among all the new ones. I don't mind Skerrett, Emma, Alfred, Charles and Brodie in tiny doses like cameos. P.S. Ignore the numbers in quoted text. For some reason grammarly program does that and I can't figure out why or how to get rid of them...possibly because it's the free version. LOL
  6. Yep, and like many others, I have no idea what’s going on, who those people are/were, and I don’t care. Bored now. Ditto.
  7. It really was. At least one of Ragnar’s sons is putting down roots and trying to savor a violence free life. I’ve always loathed Judith and I’m ready for someone, ANYONE, to kill that bitch. The actress is beyond tiresome with all the exaggerated emoting. Also, I agree that Torvi has always been Bjorn’s and Lagertha’s MVP. I hope Ubbe makes her happy. This was by far my favorite scene of the episode. Ivar’s “What?!” and expressions were priceless. This. I wish he had pushed her face in.
  8. Good to know. Where do you live? LOL Just kidding. I would never leave my door unlocked. I don’t care the location. I guess I watch too much ID and have no desire to become the victim of a “crime if opportunity.”
  9. I agree with this except for the part in bold. A part of me wishes I could dismiss “autocorrects” so easily, but the other part of me sees this as another example of humans growing lazy and complacent, because of our dependence on technology. The more we stop using our minds, the more I’m reminded of an old Star Trek episode. Kirk and Spock encountered a race of beings who were nothing more than consciousness trapped in some sort of globe. They were without physical form because they’d stop using their bodies eons ago and had evolved into nothing but intellect. Sadly, I don’t see it going as well for us. Okay, back to discussing this episode of Outlander.
  10. Yes, it is. But the male variation is spelled J-A-M-I-E. I noticed the misspelling on close caption and thought the transcriber was an idiot. Since then I've checked the books and GRRM did use the J-A-I-M-E spelling. Maybe GRRM intentionally used the female spelling for style or maybe he's an idiot, too. Otherwise, I've got nothing. Attitudes toward unwed mothers or victims of rape (and babies born of rape) were not all that charitable during the '60s for many people, not just the "Roger" type and in many places. As for Lizzie, I don't like her and never have. She's way too involved in Brianna's life and should have received some of the wrath Brianna rained on Jamie and Ian since she was talking out of her ass.
  11. Haven’t read through all the comments yet, but this was a good episode. Everyone was on point with their acting skills. But I have to say the thing that made me smile most was that baby goat jumping around.
  12. Wow. Yep, there'd be a bucket of fresh, clean water next to the mud holes in colonial times because everyone was so concerned with germs. Pretty sure that was the main thought in Brianna's mind upon meeting her biological father after time traveling 200 years to the past. I'm sorry; major eye roll here. I thought the episode was fantastic.
  13. How is Nick being manipulated by Adalind? Nick is conflicted. He cares about Adalind, but he is listening to Eve and two-faced Rosalee, not to mention their history as enemies is coloring his judgement. Juliette was pissed that her man slept with Adalind in their bed and couldn’t tell that something was off. At no time did anyone claim that Nick was raped. Nick did not claim he was raped. Nick didn’t play the role of victim. Juliette didn’t claim Adalind raped Nick. Rape is being screamed by fans that can’t distinguish between reality and fantasy.
  14. Not me. I'm all about the vengeance. Bring it on. I was screaming for Uhtred to kill skank Skade and Aethelwold every episode they appeared in. When he finally did I was cheering. Skade was just so over the top and unappealing, and Aethelwold was a weasel and a snake.
  15. I'm laughing my ass off at this comment.
  16. I don't understand all the negativity towards JRM. I like him as an actor and did not mind seeing him in Vikings. I'm glad his character went out like a badass. The same cannot be said for Lagertha, as in I won't mind not seeing her if in fact they actually killed her off. I don't know what happened to her, but I don't think she's dead and I can't understand why she isn't. She has really worn out her welcome, along with Ivar. Jeez, he is beyond crazy and tiresome. But, I can't wait until he learns his wife is a liar and fraud. Please let this be the pay off for having to sit through their scenes. I'm glad Ubbe and Torvi survived another battle. The actor playing Alfred is unimpressive, doubly so with his new look. And since when has Judith been all head of security and torture master? I really can't stand the character or the actress and wish she'd die, too. I don't know what Bjorn's story is, but I know I don't want to see him hooking up with another fly-by-night shield maiden. The battle was interesting to watch although the editing with Alfred's monologue was odd. I thought this episode was a mixed bag and left me wondering how much longer this series can run.
  17. Not at all. I thought the fight was stupid and contrived. I find more fault with Bree in that situation than Roger. That said, I liked their handfasting ceremony and the lovemaking following it. I’m not sure why one would feel icky or whatever, but I thought the actors did a good job portraying their respective characters.
  18. Oh just stop it. Adalind changed her appearance to seduce Nick with the main purpose of making him Grimmless. Why? She thought Victor would give her back her child if she complied with his request. Sex was part of the spell and she could only do it because Nick had exchanged bodily fluids with her in the past and stolen her powers. Framing it as rape is idiotic and ignores everything else that got them there. And if you insist on screaming rape, then he sexually assaulted her first in season one. Nick wasn’t an innocent or a victim of a sexual attack and he was never portrayed as one. YMMV, of course, but I am not riding the rape train or working myself up into a frenzy over this.
  19. As a person of color and having personally dealt with the sense of entitlement from a lot of white people (note I said a lot of not all), I think DG’s books may have glossed over history in favor of telling the story of her main characters. I also think the sentiment I’ve put in boldface reinforces the Europeans’ point of view. If the NA tribes were “making trouble” it’s because they had been invaded, their way of life first denigrated and then destroyed by people who felt it was their God given right to take over a land that wasn’t theirs to begin with. From their point of view it was the whites making trouble. Mueller murdering the medicine woman in the television show was just as nasty because he acted like an ignorant, irrational, uncivilized, cowardly heathen.
  20. Why when said person was trying to kill him?
  21. I don’t know if I can explain my reasons well enough to satisfy people who don’t share my feelings. All I can say is I will always care about the safety of a loyal and trusting animal first in situations that call for it and make no apologies for it. So yeah, I’m still mad about the dead wolves and dragon in GOT.
  22. That’s how I feel about Judith. Why is she still around? All she does is pet Alfred as if she’d like to shag him and smirk. She has no lines or purpose. Why isn’t she dead? But back to Heahmund’s nemesis, he got what he deserved just like Margarethe. I can certainly see Alfred’s virgin bride to be being drawn to Bjorn. Alfred is a bloodless, wimpy mama’s boy. The crown he wears looks too heavy; I’m surprised his scrawny neck can support the weight. Freydis better hope her lie never comes to light; Ivar will rip out her guts if he finds out. I no longer care about Lagertha. I’m tired of the trials of Loki and the people who followed him. Honestly, I’m not sure why I am still watching.
  23. ROTFLMAO Thanks for the best laugh this week.
  24. Thanks for the input. The trope still sucks and it needs to stop.
