  1. I bet she'd feel a bit more than slapped in the face with a legion of wights standing outside her door ready to chew her face off.
  2. Jon offered to bend the knee precisely because Dany was no longer demanding it. Instead, she proved herself to be worthy of the north's allegiance. Why is that so difficult to grasp? No, he could not. Did you miss the part where they have no time for this foolishness? The Night King has breached the wall at Eastwatch and the army of the dead are marching south NOW. Your arguments are nonsensical based on what is happening. And calling Jon a dictator is a huge exaggeration.
  3. The way I'm understanding this is that Winterfell is the Starks' family home and whoever is the HSIC runs all of Winterfell's business and because Starks have historically been named Warden of the North the two became synonymous. But if the crown gives the title to someone other than a Stark, that person could conceivably move the seat of power to any castle he/she wants. In this scenario, Winterfell is just another northern house who must answer to the warden. So, in this case, Sansa wouldn't be any greater than say Lord Manderly or Lady Mormont. Make sense? Agree/disagree?
  4. I guess I need to be clear about what position you're talking about. If it's Lord of Winterfell, then I agree with you. However, Jon hasn't laid claim to that title and no true born Stark has offered it. If you're talking Warden of the North, that title appears to be given by the crown and Winterfell, I'm guessing, is the seat of power. If you're talking KiTN, that seems to be given by the lords and ladies in the north. In addition to traditionally being someone with Stark blood, they seem to attach strong warrior and military skills to the one bearing the title, along with solid leadership skills. WRT the title of Lady of Winterfell being Sansa's by birthright, I disagree. In another world, Sansa would have been married off to some noble and would have been the lady of his house. The title of LoW would have gone to Robb's wife, followed by Bran's or Rickon's wife had Robb died without issue. But since that's not the way the cookie crumbled, Sansa fell into it by circumstance.
  5. Correct. Sansa's complaining to LF about the KiTN, expecting to be consulted on every decision as if she and Jon were co-rulers, and failure to strongly support Jon when Royce and Glover were playing her had the opposite effect on me.
  6. I saw her lips moving and heard her talking, but her interactions with Jon since then (behavior, attitude, tone) tell a different story.
  7. Right. They might as well ask how their army got so big and blame that on Jon, too. Sansa's current title is Lady of Winterfell. She has no authority one way or another, so her reaction means jack. If she cared about Jon at all or has any loyalty to him, his true identity shouldn't change anything. But she really is a wildcard, isn't she? Her loyalty is still in question as well as her judgment. I expect this of Arya and Bran (feelings to remain true). But Sansa not so much. She's Cersei lite. WRT fear and weakness, everyone has been there, the difference is Jon and Ned never threw someone under the bus because they wanted to be a king and sit on a throne. And no, that's not the only questionable thing Sansa has done. She gets the knocks she deserves. She's as stupid as her mother.
  8. Dany's dragons are not pets. She's never referred to them as pets, they are her children. Just saying.
  9. Cutting the scene did not make Sansa look better to me. I always thought she was looking to LF as her sole supporter and taking his advice to heart. I always believed the conflict with Arya was real because Sansa was thisclose to being on the wrong side of the family again. And for all the constant complaining about Jon's intelligence, Sansa showed that she was a major league fool when she continued to let LF get between her and Jon. Slow learner indeed. I still picture her face under the word "moron" in the dictionary because I still don't believe her basic nature has changed.
  10. Because it doesn't matter if it's canon, Sansa's behavior here was highly suspect; underhanded and petty, as in she was still drinking the LF koolaid. She should have TOLD Jon that the knights of the Vale were available and sent for them immediately. Instead, she went behind his back and called for them with the clear purpose of getting all the credit and some public annointment from the lords/ladies of the north. It was a straight up dick move, the kind that LF is known for. The fact that the plot backfired more than warmed my Sansa hating heart, it was like 4th of July fireworks. I think the Sansa sour grapes fail to take into consideration the selfishness or the true motivation behind Sansa's behavior in BoTB. Her constant whining about Jon and sense of entitlement really does make her feel like Cersei lite. I'm pretty sure that GRRM doesn't think of Jon as a Mary Sue character or has written him that way, everyone is entitled to his/her opinion on that score. ETA: The only people suggesting that she should be QiTN were Royce from the Vale and that weasel Glover. Both were shown whispering with LF who was using them to stoke Sansa's resentment. The majority of the lords were not present and there is no reason (yet) to believe they would turncoat and dance to LF's tune. If LF had lived and succeeded, even if Sansa somehow managed to betray Jon, gain all of the north's support and be named queen, she would only be a puppet. LF would be the one calling the shots.
  11. It never fails to amaze me that Dany's choice of punishment automatically equals she's mad in some folks' mind. She's got a temper and when pushed she uses her arsenal. I can relate. I have a temper, that's why I would never own a gun. And while I'm a thousand times better at managing it (now that I am a wise and mature adult), I've been guilty of acts of violence in my youth that could have landed me in jail. It's by the grace of God, that I never seriously hurt someone or became familiar with the legal system. When I look back at my more extreme behavior I know I was kind of scary, but I was never crazy. I just didn't take crap off of people and if they needed a smack upside the head to see my point, I was happy to give it. So from my personal experience, I don't think Dany is mad. She's still young and getting a handle on things. I give her props for knowing herself and managing her tendency towards rashness with deadly results, by surrounding herself with wiser and cooler heads. That said, she is still fighting for the IT and she has to deal with people like the stupid Tarlys. Those fools were begging to die, so she granted their wish. Tyrion's continued whining about that is tiresome and he really needs to STFU.
  12. I'm afraid we are going to have to agree to disagree on this point. Sansa has always come across as a snob, looking down her nose at the underlings, IMO; even when she wasn't blatantly acting out. Practically every episode she's proclaiming her title as if anyone could forget. So, whether or not the series goes there, it will never get old knowing Jon outranks her. I just hope that malicious bitch Catelyn gets the news wherever her sorry ass is. Bwahahaha!
  13. Maybe it's because I don't overthink Game of Thrones, but depending on how Jon finds out about his true parentage (and how public that information is made), I can't see how falling back on Rhaegar's and Lyanna's roles in tearing apart the kingdom is going to matter now. Everybody already knows they were at the bottom of the war, the fact that they were in love and got married isn't going to change the fact that Robert rebelled and people died. Jon is innocent of all that. He was a freaking baby and his mother wanted him protected. Ned did that and I think Jon will understand why his uncle/surrogate father did what he did. I think the kind of man Jon is and all that he has accomplished speak for themselves. He is a child of the north and Stark blood runs through his veins. I think the tension is going to stem from the fact that Jon is a royal heir, has a better claim to the IT than Dany, and is way above Sansa in station. (That last part gives me a happy because she thinks highly of her pedigree and what a joke that her bastard half-brother is really her royal first cousin.) Anyway, my impression from the BTS comments is that place in procession will trump sex with aunt as the big sticking point. Either way I'm good with waiting for the final season to see how this is dealt with. Still, my personal preference is for Jon and Dany to work through their issues, be allies, avenge Viserion and annihilate the WWs before kicking Cersei's ass to kingdom come.
  14. Who is pulling the wool over their eyes? This implies someone is intentionally setting Jon and Daenerys up for a fall, and there is no evidence to support that. WRT how the scene was edited, it didn't make me feel creepy or uncomfortable. Dany and Jon are perfect for each other, but they are going to be hit with game changing news. Bittersweet sums up my overall reaction. So, creepy and cruel are not the words I would use to describe the situation. YMMV.
  15. So, because Jaime and Cersei know their relationship is an abomination as far as most of Westeros is concerned you find sex between them less creepy than two people who have never met until recently, and have no idea they have a blood relationship? We have information that they do not. So while you may find it creepy, Jon and Dany are not committing any wrong based on the information they have. If you look at the situation in that light, there'd be less "creepy" pearl clutching comments, and more empathy for the people involved and how this will impact them going forward.
  16. This makes absolutely no sense to me, so I have nothing more to say on the subject.
  17. And he did, so they can just get over it. They named him their king and he acted in what he thought was in the north's best interest.
  18. I disagree. She was impressed and pissed. The woman she tried to reduce to nothing was young, beautiful and poised. In addition, Dany stole Cersei's thunder by arriving late (on a magnificent beast whose behavior pretty much dared any of them to try anything). She was not rattled when Cersei practically growled they'd been waiting a while and resisted all of Cersei's petty attempts to get a rise out of her. For the moment, Cersei is sitting on the IT, but Dany showed herself to be every inch the queen. I do agree that Jorah needs to give it a rest.
  19. See, this will piss me off. Jon coming back with Dany is exactly why he left in the first place, to forge an alliance and to get help in the war with the dead. The north doesn't have the numbers without the dragon queen's army. If Sansa (and the north as a whole) falls back on being stupid and petty because Jon bent the knee, they ALL deserve to be fucking wights, and Jon and Dany should leave them to their fates.
  20. Perhaps, but he'd have to wait his turn in my case. Jon Snow is too damn pretty and he's got a really nice ass.
  21. Poor Viserion. He's got holes in his wings and he's being ridden by pointy head. Looks like Jaime has finally had enough. I fucking hate Cersei. I'm glad Sansa doesn't have to be fed to Drogon, but I still don't like her. Jon and Dany....well, alrighty then.
