  1. Okay, maybe I'm being overly sensitive, but I find this incredibly rude. The character has a name and it's Hunter, is his race important? Also, I don't see him as anyone's BFF, I see him as Katherine's colleague and I really don't want to see her or him embraced by this group of questionable "friends."
  2. Never watched friends. Could not stand the cast. Ditto for thirtysomething and I've not drank the This Is Us kool-aid. I'm finding this show incredibly tiresome. They have some good plots, i.e. Maggie's refusal to take chemo, Rome's depression, Grace's role in the group dynamic, but they insist on boiling it down to simplistic, soap opera tropes. Also, cannot stand the Eddie and Delilah storyline. Puh-lese. I want to slap either one or both of them every time they appear on screen. I'm really tired of Ashley and her sketchy antics. I don't like Gary at all. He needs to stand down. I don't know how much longer I will be able to watch this crap.
  3. No, I’m not. What Hazza said.
  4. Everytime Adalind did something to hurt Nick, it was done in retaliation for something he and his friends did to her. Nick took her powers, she got even by going after Juliette. Nick and company decided they knew what was best for Adalind's baby and took the child from her mother, thereby creating the situation where Adalind stole Nick's Grimm because she thought that she'd get Diana back. I agree there is plenty of blame to go around and none of them are innocent, but bashing Adalind and blaming her solely for the events that created hexenbiest Juliette for example is ridiculous and ignores a lot of what went on. And while, I'm talking about this, Rosalee pissed me off a couple of times during seasons 5 and 6. I know she and Monroe are fan darlings, but she was two-faced more than once where Adalind was concerned, and Monroe was just simple minded when he kept making comments about Nick and Eve when it was clear that Nick was with Adalind by choice and whatever history he had with Juliette was just that...HISTORY.
  5. I agree with the part I reprinted and snipped the part about being unable to reconcile the actress with the character because I don’t agree with the sentiment or really understand it. There aren’t many actors I truly can’t stand for whatever reason, but when I come across one I don’t watch anything they’re in, Jennifer Aniston and Kevin Hart for example. LOL
  6. I’m way behind on commenting mainly because I just found this on Hulu and only decided to watch because I miss Grimm and thought it would be interesting to see David Guintoli in a different type of role without Bitsie Tulloch. I was surprised to see so many actors I recognized and liked in other series: Grace Park (Hawaii Five-O), Allison Miller (Kings), Christina Moses (Nikita), Ron Livingston (Sex in the City). I’m not sure if I’m going to stick with the show since it seems to be a soap opera on steroids, but we’ll see. That said, I agree that Gary was obnoxious a lot and Roman’s suicide attempt hit all the right notes. No problem here. I’m glad to see she’s got another series regular gig. The Smallville forum is still a thing? Because he’s getting a regular paycheck? He thought the role would be a challenge? This comment cracked me up. LOL. IKR? This may be true in some corners, but not all. I know plenty of black people who believe in getting help for mental disorders including therapy and medication. Huh, Nick doesn’t cross my mind when I’m evaluating Eddie and I’m still feeling all of these characters out.
  7. Right. Jocasta's thinking is perfectly natural for someone born to believe her place is to lord it over others all the while thinking herself as a benevolent and kind task master. I'm having a hard time keeping a civil tongue in my head after reading this. "Slavery or not, I think most people would choose a life of luxury over life in the wilderness.” Jocasta's life of luxury was threatened or damn near destroyed by the time she left Scotland, so her idea of reclaiming her life of luxury was to take steal the land from the people who were already living in the new world and to enslave others stolen from their homelands? She's a hypocrite and the worst kind of monster. Jamie and Claire made the correct decision. They were not going to be forced into anything especially into being slave owners. Your comments are reminiscent of people making excuses to validate their mistreatment of other human beings simply because they don't look or behave like them. It is a fairy tale that somehow J&C could make being a slave more tolerable to those being held in bondage. Did you watch the previous episode? Did you see how helpless they were in trying to save one slave from the "justice" of the white mob intent on teaching all concerned a lesson? You are surprised Jamie didn't stay at River Run? I'm amazed that so many of the Europeans who came to the new land were so quick to embrace the bondage, torture and rape of others when many of them had experienced almost the same treatment at the hands of the lords and ladies in their homelands. They were not slaves, but they weren't too far from it and they were at the mercy of the nobility. Jamie had experienced being held in bondage, he had endured rape and false imprisonment, not to mention torture. He would have a very short memory indeed if he wanted to be put in the position to treat other people that way. I live in North Carolina and yes, we have some beautiful landscapes here. I worry though because I fear the natural beauty in small places will become a distant memory due to all the OVER development.
  8. You can disagree all you want and I understand the definitions of rape; however, screaming about rape in the context of this show is ridiculous IN MY OPINION.
  9. I have to pretty much agree with practically everything you wrote. I found myself not liking this "reboot" at all and spent a lot of time rolling my eyes and/or trying to pry my eyebrows off the ceiling. It tried too hard to be relevant, and shoved all the current female-centric positions down our throats. Entertain me, don't bore me to death with politics. Too bad they killed the mother right off the bat, I like Valerie Cruz and have missed seeing her on TV. Cannot. stand. Mel. Macy was practically an afterthought. Why did her mother abandon her? It would have been nice to get some kind of explanation rather than being beaten over the head by Mel's lesbian, "me too," cis littered dialogue. Maggie's a little too whiny, and I'm not feeling Macy's need to explain everything with science. Also, not liking their white lighter AT ALL. The special effects were decent and I like the updated house, but then I've always liked the house and those things are not enough to keep me coming back. I'm not seeing the chemistry that the original sisters had and, in my opinion, that's something that can't be forced; either you have it or you don't. I don't even want to like this show, I tuned in out of morbid curiosity, but I could like it if it gets better. I'm giving it 2-3 more episodes to win me over.
  10. I know this show is over and done with, but I'm watching it on Prime after bailing way back after season one. Anyways, I've read most of the posts covering the previous seasons and the thing that has annoyed me most is the constant teeth gnashing and wailing over the supposed rape of Nick by Adalind. I find it most obnoxious and demeans the very use of the word in relation to the real crime. This is a show about magical creatures--wesens, Grimms, hexenbiests, and whatnot. A character who transforms herself into someone else through the use of a spell to rob another character of his supernatural abilities isn't a good thing, but I would hardly classify it as rape. Adalind tricked Nick into sleeping with her because he thought she was Juliette. Nick was in full consensual mode at the time. Nick did not consider himself a victim when the truth was discovered and neither did anyone else. I just hate it when real life crusades get dragged into the realm of fantasy. That's my two cents.
  11. This. This is why my response to the finale is "that was crap." I could not buy that and I was pretty disgusted with Stan. I do, however, l like what you said about Paige.
  12. No, no, no! As unhappy as I am with the U.S. right now this would be total bullshit in my opinion. Elizabeth and Phillip may be acting “honorably” in the best interests of their country, but Stan is a federal agent and is acting in the best interest of his. These people have spied on the U.S. and killed countless innocent bystanders. For Stan to do anything less than cuff them and place them under arrest would be treason on his part, and Alderholt should shoot him where he stands.
  13. I’ve never cared for Elizabeth because she never, ever appeared even remotely sympathetic to me. Her hatred of the U.S. and all things American always felt fanatical. Her gender has nothing to do with it. She has done monstrous things with little regret or regard for the people she’s crushed to meet her objectives. The few times when she allowed her mask to slip didn’t change my opinion of her because she never tried to explore her feelings or operate differently afterwards. Whenever she’s met with resistance by Phillip she gets cold and nasty. So, I stand by my opinion of her as a hateful shrew in those instances because she’s always been like that. Yes, Phillip is also a killer and has ruined people as well, the difference is Phillip‘s deeds took a toll on him and eat at his soul. Elizabeth acts as if she doesn’t have a soul and views this as a terrible flaw. She’s always been the good little operative never questioning any order she was given or thinking for herself. Elizabeth is an extremist and I wouldn’t like her any better if she were a man. The Jennings are not the heroes of the story in my opinion, I want to see both of them go down for what they’ve done, but of the two, Elizabeth’s personality is more distasteful to me.
  14. I think Elizabeth saw Paige in a (possible) similar situation that she put the intern in, and not even the monster in her could just snuff out a kid because, 21 or not, he was just a puppy. The murder of Erica was disgusting and showed how low she can go. I didn’t expect Phillip to survive after that confession, but was stunned when Elizabeth didn’t rat him out to that lying rat fink Claudia. Paige...still as dumb as ever and just as desperate to be accepted somewhere. Stan! Just wow. He is really chewing on the bone that is the Jennings. It was good to see Stavos tell Phillip he wasn’t stupid, but he was loyal. And even when Elizabeth is refusing orders and giving Phillip intel for Oleg, she can’t help being a miserable, hateful shrew to him. When will he remove the kick me sign?
  15. For the burial after Elizabeth kills him in his sleep.
  16. Well you shouldn’t be. The use of the word “otherness” in a multicultural, multiracial 21st century world is tone deaf.
  17. It’s not. There are plenty of pretty women in my town who aren’t models or actresses. The use of the word “otherness” is offensive to me as beauty is not limited to white skin or any particular ethnicity. As for Paige she isn’t anything special to me. I find her sad, misguided and pathetic for many of the reasons posted more eloquently by others.
  18. Not trying to pick your comment apart, but it cracks me up that in the U.S. any young white girl is always “pretty” whether she is or not. Double points if average looking young white girl has blonde hair. The word means almost nothing now. IMHO, Paige is quite average in all respects including appearance. And Holly Taylor is a piss poor actress period. As has been pointed out, an actress with a moderate skill level could compensate for poor character development. She cannot.
  19. Interested as in Paige doesn't have any stakes in this cause. There is no reason whatsoever that Paige should be invested in being a Russian spy. She does not have the life experiences of either Claudia or Elizabeth to want to be a spy, not to mention that the Russia they're so bullish on will not exist very soon. Someone said Paige is smug and self-righteous but in addition to those traits, she is being willfully stupid and ignorant. There are so many ways she could get a better picture of the political situation if she was as smart as she thought she was. I hope she does manage to get herself killed.
  20. Not to worry. We have spandex, leggings and skinny jeans.
  21. Almost escaped seeing Paige this week. I can’t believe how gullible she is. She’s taking on a cause she has no interest in and all of her information is propaganda. I hope her ass is busted before she completes her internship app. Stan is finally smelling a rat. I can’t wait to see his face when he realizes his neighbors and BFF are illegals.
  22. Excuse you. Having an opinion about something doesn’t mean you think people should be vilified. My lack of interest in Ernst’s situation stands.
  23. I guess I watch way too much streamingTV, and am totally desensitized to the word, because I didn’t even notice.
