  1. Relentless. But Arya is the MVP. I love that she saved the day. I'm hoping that Ghost somehow survived. I mean if useless Sam Tarly (sorry, never a Sam fan) survived through sheer incompetence, I'm hoping the wolf made it. RIP Lyanna and Jorah Mormont, Edd, and all the poor Dothraki and Unsullied who gave their lives for a thankless people. Glad Sansa spoke a truth. Useless, but finally decent towards her first husband. Seems like Daenerys is still is a snit because she's not the only one. But Drogon was adorable being sad with her. I will have more to say later, but I have to wash the dishes. LOL
  2. Except Tyrion didn’t know that Tywin had butchered her family. He had no idea what Frey’s cryptic, gloating message meant. He also did not agree to marry Sansa; he was forced to marry her by Tywin.
  3. I didn’t care for the tone of that article; it was very negative. Also I am tired of arguments that put down other characters (mainly Jon) to make their points and bolster up others (Sansa, Daenerys). I am a Dany fan, but I don’t feel she is being set up for major failure.
  4. Pretty much. History. Who cares? Let’s move on.
  5. I guess I really don't care. We don't know the whole story; events as upsetting as these are rarely so black and white. Besides all the principal players are dead. They can't explain their actions or tell us what motivated them and why. Their story was shaped by the survivors like Robert Baratheon, whose motives were hardly pure. At this stage, it's all I can do to keep current relationships between enemies and allies (not to mention all the bickering, complaining and backstabbing) sorted out without delving into the murky past of R&L. I reserve judgment until there is a full accounting of the events that led up to Rhaegar choosing Lyanna over Elia and vice versa. I don't expect to learn much about that in episodes left.
  6. I like this post. Thanks for saving me a lot of typing.
  7. It is my opinion that lots of people are more comfortable with lies and deceit than truth. Better? I am from the school of ripping off the band-aid and dealing with the reality no matter how unpleasant. I can't wrap my head around dancing around issues and have never found anything being made better by doing so in my experience. I totally agree that the situation between Jon and Dany is not black or white. It is all kinds of shades of gray.
  8. And as an aside, the queen just did away with that type of nonsense when Kate was expecting her first child.
  9. Cersei is a ruthless monster who uses brute force, lies and manipulation to steal a throne. No training in ruling the people. She could give a shit about people. She lives and breathes power for its own sake. Sansa has survivor's knowledge and was raised in a household where she should have seen how to manage a keep by observing her mother. If she wants to "rule" the North and I don't know that she really does, she can have it. The only people more fickle, clannish, ignorant and xenophobic might just be the Iron Born. Daenerys is really the only one who acquired what she has by her own grit. I don't see any point in responding to the comment about Jon because it ignores everything that happened.
  10. I don't know. I look at it more like a show of power that isn't needed if you're confident in your power. I am going to give Sansa her props for this episode. If ST had played her along these lines all along I just might have liked her a little bit. The writing/direction didn't do her any favors in previous episodes.
  11. Kind of putting the cart before the horse; also, she is Jon's aunt, so he would be her nephew. I think we're worrying over things that may or may not happen. I don't see the scenario you're talking about happening under any circumstance though.
  12. All of this. More proof that a lot of people are idiots. Me, too. I've had it with that song. Never liked it in the first place, just more Lannister arrogance. Gendry is a bastard. Bastards are not in line for anything. And if anyone is unsuitable to rule (because he has had no training for it), it's Gendry.
  13. A lie by omission is still a lie. Dany had already picked up on him avoiding her and the comment about Rhaegar raping Lyanna could not go unanswered. Jon did the right thing. I guess this is an agree to disagree moment.
  14. Well, yeah, they were. Catelyn had kidnapped Tyrion and hauled him off to the looney bin, I mean the Eyrie (sp?).
  15. Thank you. Nothing good would come from Jon telling Dany he is the rightful heir of the Iron Throne later.
  16. Didn't see that. I don't think there is a Sansa vs Daenerys vibe in either woman's mind. Jon is not stupid and I don't accept that. There was no reason not to tell her. I'm amazed that so many people prefer lies and deception to the truth.
  17. What is the point in not telling her now? It's not going to hurt any less or be any less of a shock if he waited; in fact the longer he sat on that information before telling her the more negative her reaction might be. Jon is a straight shooter. Dany knows that. Face it, no one whose been living under the assumption that they're “the last one, the only one, the special one” is going to receive the news that they aren't gracefully. It will be interesting to see what happens going forward. Dany may be stunned, but I really can't imagine her going crazy and trying to do Jon harm. But we'll have to wait and see, won't we?
  18. I really enjoyed this episode. I liked the quiet character beats, the calm before the storm. There were really some stand out moments... Jaime's meeting with Bran at the tree. Tyrion's truth bomb to Jaime that he always knew what Cersei was he just loved her. Brienne being knighted and the reaction of those who witnessed it. Sansa's and Daenerys's talk. It was going so well until Sansa pressed about the North. Well, they've got a few bridges to cross before that is something that needs to be dealt with. Sansa showed real emotion. Well, just let me say, "yay!" Although, I don't understand why she is demonstrably more affectionate to Theon than she is with her blood siblings and Jon. Sam giving Jorah his family's Valerian steel sword. The Hound telling Arya that he fought for her. Mic drop. The little girl who reminded Davos of Shireen. Lady Mormont still talking shit, this time to her cousin. People persuading others to see a different point of view. Ser Jorah with Dany, Dany with Sansa, Brienne vouching for Jaime. We saw Ghost!!!!!!! I actually cheered. Jon telling Daenerys the truth of his birthright and her hardly shocking reaction. LOL Well, that's something else that will need to be dealt with after the battle with the dead. This was an excellent episode. Can't wait to watch it again.
  19. Please explain how the Night King’s attack on Hard Home where two thirds of the wildlings were killed is Jon’s fault? Please explain why those wildlings who refused the peace treaty before the attack is Jon’s fault. The mission did not fail because of anything Jon did. Jon is no less qualified than any of the other players in contention, but he apparently has the strongest blood tie to the throne. Assumptions that Jon hasn’t learned anything or will be stabbed in the back again aren’t valid at this point.
  20. True story except Jon’s grievance with Theon had nothing to do with Dany’s ambitions, i.e. it was strictly personal and justified. Theon betrayed Jon’s family and he had every right to take Theon’s head if he wanted. I think Dany would have understood Jon’s position if it had come to that. And by the time Jon and Theon came face-to-face Daenerys’s alliances had been pretty much obliterated.
