  1. LOL. Excellent point. "Wow, this area was overrun with creatures, who we've just figured out were humans who have devolved, and the kids are going to be left with one human woman on the run from their cult, but Campian's got this! Time to die."
  2. I'm a smart person, but here are my questions: 1. Did I miss why Mother and Father didn't just kill "the baby"? 2. What's the ship that went over MarCaleb toward the end? 3. So did the ship basically come out the other side of the planet? Is that why the "voices" told them the temperate zone wasn't safe?
  3. Hi. Is this where grown adults admit they thoroughly enjoyed Julie and the Phantoms? As has been mentioned, it's just so shiny and happy and the world kinda isn't right now, that I got sucked into this show. It helps that the actors don't have that Disney Show SCREAMING AND MUGGING FOR THE AUDIENCE! vibe, and they're allowed to just "be" and act. I particularly enjoyed the reaction scenes and interplay among the boys in the band -- they really give off that vibe that they're ride or (literally) die, and supportive without being judgmental. If you start to think too much about this show, it all falls apart -- like how they can pop in onstage with not just their instruments, but also speakers, lighting, etc.; how they make a HUGE deal out of the show at the end, play one song as an opening act, and then just up and bounce? What happened between taking the stage at Caleb's and popping into the performance with Julie? But this isn't the year to blow holes through one of the few things to give me hope for a few hours, so I just ignore all that and wait for season two!
  4. I feel like there would be less confusion among us viewers if the show had been called "Tales from Lovecraft Country."
  5. Yeah, I think I have the same problem that you all mentioned -- I hate Cousin Oliver-like characters added in. I love shows changing, but sweet-as-pie little kids in a show like this just throws me.
  6. I hate the addition of Dorothy. It makes no sense. "How about when my 11-year-old daughter is in the room..." She's like 95, bro. Also, she's just ugly to look at. I'm sorry, but she's just homely and disturbing to watch. Just me?
  7. Yes - and I think there was a reference to the other Alexander Koehlers in Germany when the inspector was interrogating Alexander.
  8. I just rewatched it over the past two days. Germany is specifically mentioned as the location. I can't recall which episode, though.
  9. I always thought they should have recast Michelle with another woman who was on another ABC show in the 90s, like Danielle Fishel or Christine Lakin.
  10. There were like 20 people at this wedding that took all three women 8 months to plan? Kind of odd how they just ignored Nicky and Alex after the first season. It was a beautiful setup, though. I did laugh out loud at Bob Saget getting emotional, with a solemn Joey McIntyre staring on right behind him in frame. I get what they were going for, but it seems odd that they didn't just have Kimmy and Ramona move next door, into the home Fernando bought.
  11. Most of the cast members who appeared in "And Then There Was Shawn," aka "The Scream Episode" is reuniting for a free Watch-Along and then a paid Q&A, with profits going to DonorsChoose.
  12. I loved the Jets when I was 12. That video at the end was spectacular.
  13. Was there a weird jump into the second episode, or was that just me? Also, yeah, most other long-running shows make me at least a little misty-eyed when the characters (and actors) start getting teary, but for this I had nothin'. Just goooooooo already. The many false departures just felt a lot like last season's build-up to the end, only to announce ANOTHER season.
  14. This show is cute, but it's done a horrible job of rounding out Zoey. The audience has no idea what or who she really wants. She's a cypher; they've put so much energy into illustrating her watching other people that the writers forgot to go back and give her goals and inner desires. I could see a case for either guy, but I'm just not really drawn into the drama there because it feels like the romance is being written by a shy 13-year-old girl who's never had a date before.
  15. I believe it was a notification that Holt's dog Cheddar's toothpaste had shipped.
  16. I can't tell you how much I love that nickname. Smug Dearborn was already too much, but when she whipped out her Black Widow costume I was officially over her.
  17. Yeah, I'm with those who find it easier to believe Zoey can see everyone singing and dancing than it is to believe she's repelled by the idea of Max crushing on her.
  18. Who makes Adam Pally the straight man in a show?
  19. I'm still processing. I didn't hate it. Much of it felt right. I wasn't moved to tears, however. After all the reboots and all the forced separations, I guess right now I'm wishing I could have seen more of them experiencing happiness, rather than watching nearly all of them end their existences. Maybe I need to sit with it longer? I dunno.
  20. The Magic Motor Inn family was cute, but I didn't find them interesting enough to carry on their own show as presented during Friday's episode.
  21. Just got done watching the season finale, "Ragtime." "Chelsko's" desperate bids to push her "brand" were hilarious. I loved how she said since she's making a living as a singer, she had to bring it, and then she was one of the weakest singers. Karma came for her at showtime, which I have some sympathy for, but maybe if she'd put less time into her ensembles, she would have been better prepared. Was this the first episode without regression therapy? I didn't miss it.
  22. Watching this now ... wow. You can practically see Biggs and Lawson setting up the jokes. This is SO bad.
  23. Arthur showed up and wondered why they were in a drag club; still bummed out, he chooses to sit on the sidelines. Ginny opens with "Ava Maria" in choir robes, then strips down to one of the drag performers' costumes and the rest of the choir -- also decked out in the drag queens' costumes and wigs -- all bust out into an "Ava Maria"/"Do You Believe" mashup, backed up by three Cher impersonators and guest starring Adams' husband in full drag gear. Arthur watches from backstage, and eventually comes out wearing a boa and joining in -- they wrap the song, then he kisses Adams square on the lips, which takes them and everyone else by surprise.
  24. I know the Good Place has been in stasis, to an extent, for hundreds of years, but you'd think they'd realize that will change with an influx of millions of people. Also, I'm surprised they'd jump straight to letting everyone engage in assisted suicide, as opposed to, say, starting new programs and activities: Chidi teaches philosophy and learns guitar from Jimmy Hendrix; Tahani becomes a talk show host, etc. Basically, institute things for people to work on and toward, helping one another, as opposed to just letting Janets fulfill their every material desire. The Fake Good Place had people working in roles, and activities for residents. Did anyone figure out what the magically soothing chime probably really means? Jason and Janet continues to be all tell, barely show for me. I do love Michael knowing Jasonw ell enough to nail his perfect home. I really, really will be annoyed if next week's episode skips a Jeremy Bearimy or two and ends with our crew ending their existences. Just putting it out there. I would also like to go back to my point earlier this season that we could have used half as much Brent and gotten more time for things like, I dunno, not fast-tracking the realization that the Good Place is full of happiness zombies.
