  1. Why the hell did these jackasses even have Davonte? It’s sad to see Bow now after watching her be such a sweet kid on Mixed-ish.
  2. If Jessica was really as smart as she thinks she is, she would have asked questions about the job and her responsibilities before day 1. I will miss the boys, though. But it's probably good for them to be back in school, should they choose.
  3. There's something to be said for taking a slower pace to storytelling. Thanks to Servant, I've learned that I can tolerate glacial storytelling for two hours or so, but not for 10 painstaking episodes. Also, I'd like to say I can't believe Sean served a bunch of unknowing people placenta, but he's such a pretentious prick about food that it's pretty on brand for him. Poor Tobe, though.
  4. I respect your angle, but I stand by what I said. Amy has consistently shown an inability this season to effectively manage situations and stand up to her staff, from Dina to Jonah to the men chastising her while she was on the phone during the ridiculous #NotAllMen meeting.
  5. I lasted 20 minutes. I liked the dad the best. Nicholas has to be on the spectrum too, right?
  6. Oddly, I really enjoy this show, but the formula is starting to get to me. I did like that they gave a bunch of 60+-year-olds the freedom to not panic if the show wasn't 100% perfect; that was different and fun. That being said, this cast was amazingly talented. Definitely in the top two for me in regards to actually being people I'd want to hear and watch in a musical!
  7. He agreed to become floor manager (replacing Mateo, who replaced Amy after her promotion) last week, when Amy was too incompetent to regain control over a coup by the male floor workers.
  8. That's what I took it as, too. While it's been 500+ years since a human ascended to The Good Place, it's a strong bet that NO demon has ever been there. Michael's likely wondering if he's earned the trip, as well. I can see this ending with him leaving the foursome behind to go back and oversee the testing for another eon or so, to feel like he's truly earned his place -- but then again, that's also why I suspect that won't happen. Because I've rarely predicted anything on this show.
  9. I've never really been a fan of hers, since back when she was on The 4400. To be fair, she's usually in thankless roles like Edie, though, so I feel like I can't definitively decide if I like her or not. It actually feels like there's another team writing the last two episodes as opposed to those before the break. The only one who still actively annoys me is Bechley. He's just a straight up sociopath and I don't think there's any way around that; Hutton seems to agree and leans into it, IMO. Edie's a mess, but I don't despise her as much now that Tim knows.
  10. Please tell me I wasn't the only one annoyed by the Boy Band Math, given there were five members in New Kids, N Sync, Backstreet Boys and even O Town.
  11. Agreed with the question about wondering why Sarah's mourning everyone who knew her before the boat, and forgetting her mom is still alive? Also, I'd love to see how someone explained to the President exactly how Oliver made this big sacrifice. It was a lovely speech, but literally no one else really should have realized the magnitude of the threat, right?
  12. Am I the only one who wonders things like: How did the Paragons eat for all those months?
  13. I think I'm just hate watching this show now.
  14. If this family were real, I'd lobby for every last one of them to be sterilized. What a horrible, selfish group. There's no reasonable rationale for them having stretched this out another year.
  15. I'm a year younger than Bow; I was in sixth grade and coming back from lunch, headed for Science class when, like bybrandy, my teacher came rushing out, ushered me into the classroom and told my friend to get to her class. And much like Bow, I was a tween who just didn't fully grasp what had happened. My teacher was obviously shaken up by it and I knew it was serious, but I just wasn't as shaken as the grown-ups. So this episode was very real to me and right on target.
  16. I ended up treating the show like a "Choose Your Own Adventure" book and just followed everything with Sam and Joanna, skipping over everyone dancing except Jenna Dewan. I'm down with musicals, because the song, lyrics and the emotions in the performances can help further a story. Jamming songs into a show for people to lip sync to didn't work for me. Often, it just threw me right out of the story.
  17. Forgive me if this is the wrong forum, or if the topic has already been created, but I can't be the only person who wants to talk about this weird-ass Netflix show full of people lip syncing in random dance breaks? I'm three episodes in and kind of hate Nellie.
  18. It clicked for me after the third episode; by the last episode, I absolutely loved it.
  19. Re: Episode 7, Godspell: In the interest of full disclosure, I skipped right on past regressing a bunch of grown adults back to their 17-year-old selves. Beyond that, I thought this cast was maybe the most talented of those reunited thus far. Setting the story in the Harlem Renaissance made for some gorgeous costuming and an amazing set.
  20. I think it could also be because it's a hard watch. Nobody's likable, and every scene with Mitch makes me feel like I need a chemical shower afterward. There have only been a handful of scenes of this team actually being a team. Jennifer and Reese are killing it, but it's just nonstop with everyone stabbing one another in the back. I'm surprised they're able to get any shows done. There's no one to root for.
  21. I don't think so - the impression I got was Manny as a child was mature in many ways as a byproduct of being "the man" of the house, whose mother worked multiple jobs to provide. College Student Manny is an affected, entitled douche bag. SIDENOTE: I'm all for body positivity, but Alex's cleave was crazy on display for a Christmas dinner.
  22. If the new company taking over is anything like the new showrunners who took over this season, everyone other than Amy is doomed.
  23. Hey! Jessica had to learn to get the stick out of her ass and stop bringing down everyone else! I totally did not see that coming. Never would have guessed. Nope. I did like seeing everyone in Jessica Town garb, though. Gorgeous costumes.
  24. Ed Weeks as Brit!Greg Otto was perfect casting.
  25. Yeah, the sheer costs of all these backyard dramatics definitely seem out of bound for a vet, party planner and unemployed musician who apparently lost all DJ knowledge as soon as she moved to San Fran!
