  1. She knew what he was doing but in her words she “thought he wasn’t doing anything wrong.” She was young, dumb and naive and drank the BS kool-aid he was dishing out that it was the fault of the victims for taking nude pictures of themselves and sending them to “hundreds of guys” not understanding it would inevitably end up on the internet. And it was the fault of the people posting the pictures. It wasn’t his fault. He was only innocently hosting the website where they could post the pictures. I think she believed that nonsense hook line and sinker, enjoyed the party lifestyle and dating a semi- celebrity, until sh*t got real, the professional hackers hacked him, destroying his life, he became fearful of going to prison, and she supposedly discovered the private messages she received from his victims begging her to help them get the pictures Hunter had posted removed from the site. She even said she wished she knew better back then. I do agree with others she is obviously on drugs whether it is for health issues or she has substance abuse issues are unknown of course. She is scary thin and has lost a significantly amount of weight since they were together. I concluded that all of his followers “the family” and the folks doing outrageous, disgusting and depraved things to get attention from him and the site have/had serious emotional issues. No one who is emotionally stable would go so far as to stick cell phones up their ass or threaten to kill and rape women because their idol was being “threatened” by them are stable people. Hunter was/is a vile and disgusting POS. I know it was the law that he got the time he got but I wish they could’ve at least given him 5 years. He truly is sociopath. I mean he did not care that people’s lives were being destroyed. And the irony of it was when the tables were turned on him he became even more vicious and entitled having an attitude of “how dare someone try to destroy me!” Even though he’d been doing just that to others. Unbelievable. Glad he’s disappeared into nothingness. Hopefully he’s currently living a muted and unsuccessful existence.
  2. I agree. But unfortunately I think the Featheringtons are going to eat the show in S3. There was already too much of them in S2 IMO with what was essentially a filler storyline. Now that Penelope will be the focus it will be all Featheringtons all the time. I hope this will not be the case but I’m not holding my breath. I do think there is enough time for the writers to do Colin/Penelope while exploring the highs and sometimes lows of navigating newlywed life as will be Kate/Anthony but I don’t know if the writers realize that or even knows how to write that kind of balanced storytelling.
  3. This will definitely be the season of opportunity with so many veterans and mega stars retiring or stepping back from the sport and the Russians banned. Sometimes when these changes in sport happens there is a period of mediocre and athletes maintaining the status quo. Hopefully we’ll have several skaters step into that gap, shine and start pushing the sport to the next level, which I think is a possibility with the men. Not so sure about the other disciplines.
  4. Yeah. No one is going to admit that they started messing around with their new lover while still married or involved with their previous lover. It’s just not a good look, see Eddie Cibrian and LeAnne Rimes who got busted red-handed cheating on their spouses. Though I do think for them more people were shocked that sweet innocent LeAnne Rimes, who was a teen superstar, could turn “hot” Eddie Cibrian’s head 😂and that she actually had a cheating bone in her body, rather than being outraged by their infidelity. But I digress, I think it was Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie who claimed they didn’t act on their feelings until he left Jennifer. 😏 Take from that what you will. 😂
  5. I don’t know if J-Lo has been the epitome of monogamy herself, which may be why she puts up with the cheating. She started “hanging out” with Ben literally two seconds after her broken engagement from A-Rod. Did she end things with A-Rod, then immediately call Ben and they instantly decided to start hanging out and getting papped together? Or were they “involved” before the breakup? If you look at her relationships history, nearly all of her marriages and/or boyfriends almost overlap. She’ll end one relationship, then weeks later she’ll be in another serious relationship. I seem to distinctly recall there being rumors that she and Ben were involved before her marriage to Criss Judd ended. I wouldn’t be surprised if similar behavior was happening with her other relationships considering she is almost always on to the next guy within weeks of a breakup.
  6. Same. He will go down as one of the greatest and will be referenced for years to come during skating competitions and discussions etc. I wish him much success with whatever he chooses to do next.
  7. I know that's one of the narratives out there as the reason for the breakup. However, I find that difficult to believe. I'm betting there was more to the breakup than just the media attention. That said, Jennifer did an interview with Oprah either right before or after her breakup with Ben, and talked about how they allowed the media into every aspect of their lives because they thought they could control the narrative and that the media wouldn't be so relentless. She said she learned from that experience that the media is insatiable, that no matter how much you reveal about your life they always want more. She said she learned from that experience and would never do it again. Though she's on SM and sometimes uses it to post pictures about her personal life, my understanding is she mostly uses it to post things about her career. So I think she is way more low key with her personal life than what it was like when she first dated Ben. Lately it seems like I've seen more stories than before about young successful entertainers (and even a few individuals who are not in entertainment) choosing suicide. It's very sad.
  8. Perhaps easy pickings? Teens are a ball of angst, from hormones, to school obligations to pressure from parents about everything from grades to college to their future. There can be a lot of emotional turmoil with teens, which they don’t have the maturity yet to handle. I imagine that made it very easy for Vecna to get in their heads and wreck havoc. Not saying he couldn’t do the same to the adults in Hawkins but adults, at least most I’d hope, have a much better handle on their emotions, who they are and how to manage mistakes and regret. Though I’m sure Vecna could take down adults too, the kids were low hanging fruit. He could get the 4 deaths he needed without much effort and quickly be well on his way to destroying the world in no time.
  9. The impression I got was that he didn’t see these “atrocities” until he started delving into her mind. Which is how he was able to torture her (and his father) with past discretions they’d hidden from all under their guise of goodness. So I don’t think it’s related to how she disciplined him.
  10. This. I was discussing Vecna’s backstory with someone and watched this episode again to get clarity on some things. I too wonder how his mom knew the truth. Could she have had powers herself and that’s how she a) knew what Vecna was doing and b) was the reason why/how she knew Brenner? It would also explain why Vecna has powers. Also, why did he choose that moment at dinner to kill his family? He said it was his plan all along, but I do wonder if he felt compelled to act more quickly than planned. Before killing his family, the radio started to have interference and he gave his mom a knowing look then killed her. Did he discover something about her in that moment that compelled him to immediately act? But then I’d think if she had powers he would’ve discovered this when poking around her mind, unless she was somehow able to hide it somehow. I’d also like to know what atrocities his mother committed that caused him to conclude she was a horrible person? We saw that with his dad it was due to some things he’d done while fighting in the war, but what about his mom? What evil had she done for him to deem her bad?
  11. If it's going to take them another two years to release the next season, then they need to do a time jump. The kids were still able to pass as high schoolers this season, but I think that's going to get harder to do as the actors get older, even by a couple of years. I'm fine with a time jump as long as it's no more than a a year or two. I want this so much. I was reading that the Duffer Brothers are saying that Will, will come full circle in the final season. I hope full circle does not mean he will be possessed by the Mind Flayer again. I do not want to see him victimized again. I'd like to see him be able to fight back, but also be an asset to the the team. What better way for that to happen than for him to have developed some type of mind control ability which he can use against Vecna. My other wish, like I stated in the episode thread, I'd like to El to be able to put up a real fight against Vecna. Perhaps they can bring back Dr. Owens to help her gain strength. I'd like a real back and forth between her and Vecna where he is shaken by her power. The big powerful moment where she stretches out her hands while screaming to the high heavens as she takes down her opponent is always cool to see, but is not how the final battle with Vecna should be. Or rather it shouldn't be that way until they've at least had a real fight where the audience is unsure who will win. Lastly, I hope the episodes aren't as bloated as this season. They don't need an hour + to tell the story of each episode and they don't need 2+ hours for the finale. I believe they can keep the story tight by avoiding throwaway scenes (and arcs) and making each minute count towards the overall story arc.
  12. I agree that Caleb and Sadie were the standouts this season. Many others knocked it out the park too. Regarding Jason, I understood his pain but he was completely out of control. What he was doing was insane. I was horrified and angry when one of his jock brothers ran down a child, Erica, and forced her to the ground attacking her. Again it was insane. I understand he was hurt and wanted justice but what he was doing went way beyond justice and thus was not justifiable. He died and I didn’t even care. Maybe if he wasn’t acting like such a psychopath he wouldn’t have even been at the the Ballard house and thus would’ve survived the earthquake. But he was there because of his crazed behavior and died as a result. Regarding Eddie, I loved the character. Unfortunately I knew he was a redcoat from the moment he showed up. And really his character had been written into a corner with everyone believing he was a serial killer. There’s no way he could have survived and not paid the consequences for the murders. Such a shame because he was a great character. This! I mean goodness that was an emotional two-hours, almost draining but it went by fast. I knew Vecna created the Mind Flayer. I’ve had debates about this with others who believed he did not. The materials were there but he just shaped it and created it into what he wanted it to be. Also looks like the demodogs were already in the upside down world but appeared to be harmless until Vecna got control of them. Me too! After watching E8 I thought we were going to lose at least two main characters. I was surprised when that didn’t happen. I was also surprised to see El apparently has powers to bring back the dead. Was this revealed in a previous season and I just forgot? Because when she start saying “no” then reached out her hand to heal Max I was like huh? I need an explanation for this. 😂 Completely agree. I really enjoyed how much they bonded this season. There’s a real connection between them which makes them being a couple believable. I also thought the bond between Steve and Nancy tremendously improved this season. And perhaps they can eventually reunite and give it another go but I can’t see them or she and Jonathan lasting long term. But then why should they need to be planning a future ie marriage and kids now. They’re all still very young. And realistically will find life mates in other people whom they’ve yet to meet, that’s if they decide to have a life mate. OMG this. I was rolling my eyes during his love speech. Mainly because I don’t believe that he and El have this great love and 2) because his speech was not believable due to the acting. It just wasn’t good. And the speech was way too long . I agree with this. Though I thought the finale was great, they didn’t need 2+ hours to tell the story. There was a lot of time wasted on characters playing grab ass ie El and Mike bonding over Pizza, or folks pontificating for it seemed like 20 minutes, looking at you Vecna. I hate to see a villain going on and on about what they’re going to do to their victim or how they became the monster they are. It’s annoying. 😂 I’d forgotten Will is connected to Vecna until the last 5 minutes of this episode. He’s connected to him in a way like no other being that he still feels him, knows how he thinks etc, which is interesting. I hope that the gang finds a way to tap into that connection next season and perhaps use it to take him down for good. I know this isn’t the wishlist thread but another thing I’d like to see is El being able to give Vecna a run for his money without the big emotional power push. Will might not always be around to give her a love speech that’ll heighten her emotions and subsequently boost her power. She needs to learn how to fight Vecna with more than just one suoer powered hit. But I don’t know if she’ll ever be able to hone her skills to such strength. Vecna has had years to hone his powers, which is why he is so powerful. While El has only been “training” for 2-3 years. Anyway, great season. Looking forward to the final season when it’s released.
  13. This. He’s been through so much. Now he’s in love with his best friend who’ll never reciprocate love for him in that way. And who knows how Mike will respond if he does figure out how Will feels about him. That could cause more heartache and angst. I just want to give Will a hug. Like others, glad Brenner is dead. With Vecna on the scene it was time for him to exit stage left. Cannot believe he was using El to find Vecna, and in turn caused all this chaos. Did Brenner really think he could control him (Vecna) if he got him back? In-sane. The best thing about the California storyline was Will’s speech and them reuniting with El. Loved her reunion with Will and Mike. El is so badass when she is using her powers. The Russian storyline is taking too long to resolve itself. I’ve come very close to fast forwarding those scenes. Team Hawkins are in way over their heads. I feel a very strong sense of foreboding and think we’re going to lose one, maybe even two people in this fight. I wonder how the angry jocks will fit into all this. I’d forgotten about them until Nancy and Erica spotted them at the gun store. I suspect this season will end with Vecna opening all the gates and turning real Hawkins into hell on earth. But we’ll see…now off to watch the finale.
  14. Kelly was convicted and sentenced on racketeering in addition to the sex trafficking. So this may be why he got more time. Being that both were convicted and sentenced on federal charges they will serve their full sentences. As I understand federal prisons abolished parole in the 80s. So Kelly and Maxwell have essentially been given life in prison considering their ages. Yes it’s possible they’ll outlive their sentences but the odds are not in their favor. And even if they do outlive their sentences they‘ll be too old to resume the abuse, rape and sex trafficking that put them in prison in the first place. It’s too bad they lived their best lives before getting caught though. I hate that these sexual predators are all past their primes, some of whom having one foot in the grave and one on a banana peel, before they are caught and made to pay for their crimes. It’s so unfair to the victims. I do hope that they, the victims, can find some solace in the results of these cases, and are healing from the traumas they suffered.
  15. Perhaps. Agreed. If I’m remembering correctly, his coven had a real problem with Claudia because of her age. Up until she was turned, Armand had been the youngest vampire known. Claudia was dangerous because she put all vampires at risk of discovery by the masses due to her being a child, that’s why she needed an adult vampire to be with her. She couldn’t navigate the world alone as a child, even if she was a vampire with adult intelligence. It’s funny though, the whole fear of discovery by the masses ended up being ironic considering what happened in Queen of the Damned.
  16. Yes. He did. Loved his hair. I just wanted to brush it. Lol. I believe Pitt actually grew it out for the role. Someone correct me if I’m wrong. If it was a wig it was a good one. Like others I thought Kristen Dunst stole the show. She was superb. I’d argue this was one of her best performances as an actress. I think they did mess up the casting for Armand. He was a 13 year old red headed boy in the books but they cast Antonio Banderas. I understand why they went older for the role but I still didn’t like it. I did however like that they changed what happened in the books and had Louis reject Armand’s proposal. He’d murdered Claudia in part because he knew Louis would never leave her for him. I was happy to see that Louis did not accept him after what he’d done. Good movie. Though Louis killing his slave (played by Thandie Newton) is still a bit cringey, it didn’t take away from the overall quality of the movie. Also, I think River Phoenix would’ve done well as the reporter. Too bad he died before filming started. Christian Slater was a good recast.

    Deep Blue Sea (1999)

I enjoyed this one as well. I know it shouldn’t be funny but I always laugh when Sam Jackson is giving his rile them up rara we are going to survive speech and the shark jumps out of the pool mid speech and snatches him into oblivion. Lol. Thomas Jane’s character had warned him not to stand so close to the pool unfortunately he didn’t listen. I too am glad the ending was changed. Saffron’s character started out with the best of intentions but you know what they say about that leading to hell and that’s exactly what happened. I think things would’ve eventually gone to hell whether the storm happened or not. The sharks were getting smarter by the day. Eventually they would’ve started attacking the compound and would’ve tried to get their freedom.
  18. I just want to know the science behind her mother being able to get pregnant with her without doing it the old fashion way or in vitro, and how did Blue manage to reproduce on her own? I could see this maybe working outside of the body if some type of science had been created that could fertilize an egg without a sperm, then the fertilized egg is implanted in the body. However, I’m not clear on how this process work when done entirely inside the body. Pregnancy without a male species made sense in the original movie when the park was full of females but the amphibian DNA used when engineering the dinosaurs allowed some to change genders and thus could mate with the females in the park. In this movie Blue was apparently on her own with no male suitors but still managed to get pregnant on her own. How? We saw this movie yesterday. It wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t great either. It was definitely better than the previous installment. It was nice seeing Ian, Allan and Ellie again. It would’ve been cool to hear what Malcom’s daughter, Kelly, was up to these days. We didn’t need to see her, but it would’ve been a nice call back if Malcolm mentioned her when briefly talking about his 5 kids. Speaking of which, he said he needed to keep working due to the kids. Surely he was joking. It’s been nearly 30 years since the first movie was released. All of his kids should be grown, at least in their 30s, maybe even 40s, and probably have their own families by now. So he’d not need to be worried about child support or even paying for his kids college etc. Liked the addition of Mamoudou Athie as Ramsey Cole, but the way Dotson was killing folks off who crossed him I was shocked he didn’t take out Ramsey when he learned what he’d done. Honestly the confrontation between these two was very anti-climatic. They could’ve just had Ramsey escape without revealing his betrayal to Dotson because nothing happened in that scene. I think the former said maybe two words while Dotson expressed his disappointment before Ramsey calmly walked away and Dotson pretty much shrugged off the betrayal and made his escape. The scene was pointless. At the start of the movie, I feared they’d spend too much time setting up all the characters but thankfully that wasn’t the case. Once the movie got moving it kept me engaged throughout. I will say though, as the movie ended I wondered how many more movies in this franchise are we going to get with the government setting up a sanctuary for the dinosaurs only for some genius to come along and think they have a winning strategy for controlling these animals better than all the individuals before them who tried and are now dead? All of whom who failed miserably at controlling them and most of whom who ended up dead via attack from the very dinosaurs they were trying to control. This should be the last in the franchise. I don’t know that it will be. But there’s only so many times, after all that’s happened, we can have a movie where someone will try and control and thus make billions off the dinosaurs. And though the call backs to the original movie, which have been included in the sequels have been cool, even they’ve gotten old. One more thing I wondered, so what happens to the raptors who lose the target they’ve been directed to kill? I’m thinking about those programed to kill Owen, Claire and Barry, but failed. I think at least two of those raptors survived. Do they just hunt for their target forever, or does the directive eventually wear off?
  19. Several days ago the ISU passed the new age rule. Raising it to 16 for next season. Then 17 in 2023-2024 season. This will impact Eteri’s skaters the most I think (whenever the Russian ban is lifted) as all of the successful skaters who’ve come out of her camp in the last several years have started their senior career before they were 17.
  20. Great theory. This would also explain why he’s behind in his recreation. When Nancy and crew were in the Upside Down world and went looking for the guns in her room they found shoes and a stuffed animal she gave away two years prior and a diary which she’d completed in the real world but was still unfinished in the upside down world. I also think the timeline would align with when One started to get full access to the real world via his monsters. I still wonder though why it took so long for him to access the real world and start causing problems? Did it take him 4-5 years to regain enough power to push through whatever gate and gain access?
  21. Agreed. I didn’t miss the California crew at all which is really unfortunate considering what an integral part Will and Mike played in previous seasons. Honestly, if they don’t show up in July, which they will show up, I still wouldn’t miss them. That’s how dull their storyline was, especially after they escaped in the Pizza van. Perhaps things will pick up for them in Part II next month. I thought the Hawkins storyline was fantastic, and to me really saved this season because all of the other storylines weren’t nearly as engaging. The Russian storyline got good in this final episode as did El’s journey and that was only due to the Vecna reveal. Though the reveal seemed to go on forever, Vecna’s origin story was very well done. So I’m guessing the upside down world has always been there, and was harmless, until One got banished there by El, then started creating the terrifying creatures to haunt the real world. It also explains why the horror from the upside down world is exclusive to Hawkins (as far as we know. Though Russia does have a demogrogan so maybe it’s expanded there) and nowhere else since One was banished from real world Hawkins to upside down world Hawkins. My question though is if his whole purpose is revenge on El for betraying him, why kidnap Will in S1? He was kidnapped before anyone even knew about El. And why wait 4 years to start wrecking havoc? Did it take that long for him to find a way through, back to the real world? And when he did Will was just at the wrong place at the wrong time? Hated the bullying story, but was pleased, though I know it was wrong, when El skate faced Angela. I was sick of her standing tearing eyed and just taking abuse. I wanted her to fight back. The vigilante jock squad was annoying too. I thought it was completely unrealistic that a teenage kid would be able to get a room full of adults to get riled up over demons without any proof and any dissent. Folks just took his word for it and went to running with it. Glad that story thread was abandoned in the last couple of episodes. Though I’m sure it will be picked up in Part II. Really enjoyed the addition of Eddie. The actor is charismatic which makes Eddie interesting. I will admit though when he and some of the other random high schoolers were introduced I thought they looked too old to be in high school then realized they were likely seniors which is why they looked so much older than the main ST teens. I don’t think I’ve ever really shipped anyone on this show but I like Steve and I’m enjoying his renewed connection with Nancy I wouldn’t be opposed to them getting back together. The season had a slow start but once the story picked up it became pretty good I’m looking forward to the final episodes next month
  22. I liked this too. But I’m guessing one can’t listen to music forever to keep him at bay. So I think Max will eventually have to make peace with what happened to Billy, her wishing him dead and her guilt over not being able to save him. I think that will stop Vecna completely from continuously coming after someone as it seems as if he preys on severe guilt over trauma.
  23. I agree. But wasn’t the issue that he was missing and they had no idea where he was? They’d been calling him but his phone would go straight to voicemail. When he finally called in I think they just went ahead and interviewed him over the phone. With the way he was obviously dodging the police they probably thought they may not get an opportunity to interview him again. So they just did it when they finally had him on the phone. When finally caught the suspect looked disheveled and a little out of it. Maybe this was due to him being on the run for several weeks, but I wondered if he was just unstable. The motive could really be envy. Though killing the guy wouldn’t get him the life he wanted, he probably couldn’t stand to see someone so close to him live the life he wanted. The mom said he lived with the brothers at one point then moved out. Maybe he was asked to leave which may have been the trigger for him to murder them.
  24. Good point about her reaction to her nephew. As previously stated, I think the writers have their work cut out for them if they are going to transform Eloise into a woman who not only wants marriage and kids, and not her own, but kids that are someone else's. I agree about Theo. He and Eloise had nice chemistry and seem to support the same ideas. Would her marrying below her station be so out of order? Anthony married a woman who had no money, no dowry, was the daughter of gasp a middle class man. Some in the Ton may think she is beneath him. Granted he is a man and thus has more freedom to do as he wishes than Eloise. That said, she could marry Theo, but how would the Bridgertons respond to that? Would she be disowned just as Mary was disowned by her family for marrying a regular guy? Or would they come to accept Eloise's choice? I've heard the show must keep all pairings the same. There's been claims that it's in some sort of contract. However, I've not found any proof to support this claim. So who knows what liberties the writers can take when it comes to the couplings. All of them may not end up with the spouse they had in the books on the show.
  25. I didn’t see this type of scenario mentioned here but I absolutely love this idea. It would get a little messy for the characters but I think the writers could make this scenario work.
