If I watch Disappeared I google for more info. Usually there's some resolution but usually it's because a body was found. At least it's a closure of sorts. I used to refuse to watch Disappeared, same as above posters, but sometimes it's the only thing on and I'm in the mood for some true crime. I do that with other true crime shows too. Mainly to make sure the "perp" didn't get an early release.

Barbados! Never been that far down-island but remember more than a couple of weekend shopping sprees from the BVI. Did the liveaboard boat thing for a number of years and many items are much more easily found stateside. Don't know why I thought Aussie. Old imperfect twop memories I guess. Was thrilled to see that Book 5 of Karl Ove Knausgaard's My Struggle series had been translated and thoroughly enjoyed it. I find his writing and observations compelling though I'm sure not everyone is as fascinated by his life's minutiae. I made it approximately 240 pages into Garth Risk Hallberg's City on Fire, put it down, picked it up the next morning, removed the bookmark and returned that bloated, self-indulgent book to the library. Like many here I rarely do not finish a book but that one was an exercise of above-average-eye-rolling proportions. The metaphors and qualifiers on top of qualifiers tested my patience and I failed. And that's the kind of big fat read I usually love. I had set aside times to read it and was instead left feeling at loose ends. Ugh.

River cruising is wonderful! Knowledgeable staff, good food, don't have to change hotels during the trip. And so relaxing. Did a Burgundy canal barge trip and we are hooked. Have fun!
