I don't consider myself a religious person but am drawn to personal accounts and experiences of faith so also appreciate the Anne Lamott mention. I found Traveling Mercies quite affecting. And, in that same vein, I have enjoyed and, hopefully, learned from Kathleen Norris. Esp. Cloister Walk and Amazing Grace. And Essays of E B White will always hold a special place.

That whole pissed-off-about-being-called-a-pedophile is, imho, absurd. Did anyone actually believe that Carole's a pedophile? Doubtful. And Carole's whole injured act is ridiculous. And Bethy needs to shut her fucking mouth about anyone's sexual liaisons. Until she is willing to be as open about her love life as the other HWs she has no room to throw stones. Let's see her "partners" and let the audience, and other Wives, make some judgment calls. She's disgusting.

My understanding is that British colonialism is in part responsible for the popularity of Indian food in the Isles. One version is when the colonialists (?) returned to Great Britain they missed all of the spicy flavorful foods of India and an industry was born. Another take: "How Britain got the hots for curry." And there are probably others.

I switched from Today to CBS Morning when the Today Show went orange. Complete with a kind of orange looking Carson Daly. Ugh. There seems to be no happy medium. CBS Morning is rather dry but it's relatively low-key and they actually report some news. When I flip to the Today Show it seems now to be more of a chat show, a la the View etc., than news. And GMA just doesn't hold my attention. Billy Bush is an annoying little jerk. Wasn't Jenna B-H enough of a Bush annoyance?

I think she looks like a hostage. And that's the shot they chose? I'd like to see the others.

Or is it fear? Seems like they're all afraid that looking at a woman's body will drive them to do sinful things. Imho that thinking is uncomfortably close to blaming a woman for being attacked. "I couldn't help myself! Look what she made me do!"

And who knows just how successful SkinnyGirl would have been w/o the Housewives attachment? Jill did her a favor getting her on a "Manhattan Moms" show that morphed into a "Housewives" show w/ Bethy being neither. I think B would give Jill a run for her money in a meanest girl race. And win. And, yeah, what was Carole's Asian/board-game/organized comment? Was it maybe a shot at Jules's constant referencing of her ancestry? Odd.

Great idea. Plus, it gives you an oportunity to smell them. I can usually tell if I'm going to like something by its smell/scent. I think we pretty much taste what we smell. Cupboard's a little bare and energy's a little low so might just have a frozen Home Run Inn Chicago Pizza tonight. Hubster brought one home last week (organic, sausage, pepp., mushrooms and peppers) and it was delish. Maybe the best frozen pizza I've ever had. And only about 600 calories for the half.

Carole actually redeemed herself a bit with that comment. I laughed out loud. Her delivery was so earnest. Otherwise, she's lost me. I'm seriously tired of these women being so far up B's ass. Though Ramona telling everyone, over and over, to, Suck it up! Suck it up! was funny it was, imho, misguided. She should have been handing out pitchforks and torches.

Agreed, anzeepark914. I love paging through cookbooks and when I see an arm's-length list of spices etc. I just keep turning the pages. Spices are expensive and I hate spending x amount of dollars on something I use once only to find out I don't like them. I prefer to use familiar ingredients, kind of like the Thoreau caution: Beware of enterprises that require new clothes. If that makes any sense. We usually enjoy meals of leftovers. They're like a kind of mash-up of familiar favorite flavors. And it feels good to use that food!

Wow! B managed to come off even worse than I anticipated, and that's hard to do. Love how she even tried blaming Dorinda's house for her own bad behavior. Hey Bethy, the only "evil spell" in that house is you! I'd suggest she look in a mirror but her image might not actually reflect. Loving Dorinda, sloppy drunk or not, I think I can actually see a real person there. And LuLu did an admirable job of handling Bethy, remaining calm in the face of B's fury was great. I expected to see spittle flying. And Lu's "c'est la vie, brush it off" complete with hand gestures was gold! And agree with whoever upthread mentioned that B maybe acted remoseful but then tag-teaming LuLu w/Andy was, imho, way over the top. She is a horrible person.

Well, that was a hot mess of a challenge. I know that RevRun has had plenty of reality tv exposure so I expected him to be more, alive? Not very compelling viewing when the NFNS folks have more "go" in them. (Walk This Way video is classic!) Wow, Aaron! Way to bite the hand that feeds ya'. The only real standouts, to me, were the majority (?) who didn't do so good. I think that's most of them. Did get a kick out of the woman who kind of apologized to her teen for her "hip-hop" performance. Too many for me to keep names straight.

I don't spend a lot of time w/CNN but had it on for the Jake Tapper vs Trump interview this afternoon. Wow. Esp. loved Jake's, He's from Indiana!

At least Chris had the good grace to apologize for introducing Clara Bingham as Clara Barton.

And don't forget the Te of Piglet! We were in Winnie's "hometown" last October. Happy ending to a rather sad beginning.

It's not a Bon Appetit recipe but I've had good luck spreading cutlets with a mixture of equal parts mayo and parmesan, topping with Panko and baking. I think it's a Hellmans recipe. Easy and tasty. Probably good on fish.

"Free reign" to wander the land, or something. Not exact words but same intent.

I'd pay to see that.

I don't get it! Is it because she's a good little fundraiser? That she has a public profile? Or maybe they just don't really pay attention to all of her inconsistencies and inaccuracies. I wish some of her charities would show up on CharityNavigator or any charity-rating site.

Richard Russo's latest, Everybody's Fool, misused "reign". Huge pet peeve. And I think that the editor could have used an X-acto knife to pare out a couple hundred pages. Really "Wdy".

I think it grew!!! It's taking on a life of its own.
