You are absolutely right! I did not see this episode (but will record, thanks, Maizie 131) but was incensed by the deer-feeding neighbor. Were there ordinances in place against feeding the deer but officials in place were either uninformed or underestimated the problem? Or thought they'd work it out? DEER! Unbelievable. But not. Sorry, zm, but this branding thing, esp. as illustrated here, makes me a little nuts. Holy Crap! To me, that looks like a developer so unsure of his/her business that they will try anything and everything attempting to make their business happen. Manic chipmunk mode. That list is, imho, fucking crazy! Imho, it becomes a brand with no identity other SG and obviously that ain't enough or we wouldn't be seeing her crap all over the TJMaxx's and other discount retailers. I don't usually trust a brand that thinks it can do it all, 'cuz it can't. At least not effectively. And frankly, that stupid martini glass logo with Bethy's ass in the glass still looks a bit like what Alex designed. I'll ahve to look for it but either a Salon or New Yorker reporter/journalist commented same within the last year. The same reporter who had really less than kind thing to say about some SG flavors. If she wanted to help someone with branding she should just tear the index out of a catalog and hand it over. That appears to be what she did.

And I didn't think the burgered-bleu was awesome. I thought it was awful and put me in mind of old socks. I should have scraped it off. At first I couldn't figure out what tasted "off" about the burger! I'll stick with crumbled bleu in salads etc., not warmed. One of my favorite burger stops is a place in the St. Pete area that uses real Veleveeta on their burgers! Not some knock-off orange American "cheese". Lol Swiss on a burger sounds kind of wrong but I think I've seen mushroom & swiss burgers that have looked tempting.

My sister and bil are on a HollandAmerica cruise that featured a cooking session with David Burke. They both signed up for it and said he is nicer than nice. Only 10 participants and he sat down with them all as if they were old friends. When he found out sis and bil have a place in the city he gave them his card and said to call if they ever needed reservations. The dishes they made were delicious: Chicken with ratatouille Tuna crusted with mustard seeds. Ginormous shrimp in tomato vinaigrette. A few years back I dragged them into a smaller operation of his that's essentially in Bloomie's windows. We ordered drinks and hot fresh popovers were served w/o asking. Love popovers. We just wanted light so split an order of freshly made and very tasty quacamole with fresh, warm tortilla chips. Simple but heavenly.
