  1. I think Erin is the DaisyDukes and giggles. Not many quirks involved.
  2. Just saw promo and heard, "Are we the Waiting". Fuck you MSNBC. We've been waiting. For honest news. Assholes. I guess we're still waiting. Unfortunately, now for the GreenDay vision.
  3. Ooh. Never heard of it! But now I must find it. Was going for a RoseParade prosecco but a red sounds more appropriate.
  4. Wow. Is MSNBC trying to not take any responsibility for their campaign reporting? Are they pretending that they "Are the Waiting" and not part of the problem? Starry nights City of lights coming down over me Skyscrapers Stargazers in my head Are we we are, are we we are The waiting, unknown This dirty town is burning down in my dreams Lost and found the city bound in my dreams And screaming Are we we are, are we we are the waiting And screaming Are we we are, are we we are the waiting Forget me nots and second thoughts live in isolation Heads or tales and fairytales in my mind, Are we we are Are we we are the waiting, unknown Rage and love, the story of my life The Jesus of suburbia is a lie And screaming Hey! MSNBC! I'm waiting for a real reporter!
  5. I don't think she's talented enough to be quirky. I place her in the trying-too-hard category. I enjoyed Brik more than I ever thought. We really didn't see his personality during the show. Editing? Dexter and Erin both try way too hard for the quirk. Quirky is an odd balance but is a balance. Neither captured that, imho. They seemed to just try, too hard, at being different. imho Was champagne/alcohol flowing more freely this reunion? Maybe it helped.
  6. Does Billie Joe know? He's not shy at calling people out. Wonder which song they've besmirched. Green Day or not. MJ is up Trump's ass. NOW they fucking decide that accountability is important? Gah!
  7. The Poynter org and NPR both reported on a this survey taken in 2012: People who watched no news scored higher on a current events quiz than people who watched FOX. Quelle surprise.
  8. mediaite also has an interesting take. 'New MSNBC Ad Campaign Frames Morning Joe as Place to Get Breaking Trump News by Justin Baragona | 2:39 pm, December 28th, 2016'
  9. And let's not forget how Trump et al harangued Hillary's lack of press conferences. 'In honor of the period that's elapsed since Trump himself held a press conference, here are 71 times his campaign, his staff and their allies demanded that Clinton do the same.' She did walk it back but the cynic in me thinks that pressure was applied. Even so, according to thedonald's attorney: When reporters at the Daily Beast researched the allegations over the summer, Trump lawyer Michael Cohen told one of them, "[W]hat I'm going to do to you is going to be fucking disgusting. ... You write a story that has Mr. Trump's name in it, with the word 'rape,' and I'm going to mess your life up ... you're going to have judgments against you, so much money, you'll never know how to get out from underneath it." Cohen also tried to redefine the crime of rape to suit Trump’s purposes, claiming, "You cannot rape your spouse. There's very clear case law." Nice.
  10. I think it also needs to be considered that many many acts of voter suppression targeted African-American communities. Probably disproportionately.
  11. This ^ was my brother's experience in Thailand and Vietnam. He had a planned vacay, voted early and was overseas on November 9. All who spoke with him (meaning most everyone) were as gobsmacked as he. A big ol', "What's going on over there???", quiz. But all were friendly and most aghast. I will continue to parse this jerk's words and I will probably even do some namecalling. Going high when they go low hasn't worked so great for the Dems. Fiiight! Fighting is not always polite. It sounds like it's not going to be easy for him to dismantle these orders and it's interesting that though the Repugs have mainly offered backhanded compliments about these tough actions most agree it needed doing. Even Ryan. Jerk. Our clown prince hasn't been bothering with intelligence briefings, why should I bother listening to his word salad. Idiot. Good grief. He's trying to reduce diplomacy to fucking emoticons.
  12. I'm not sure what Obama hoped his remark would accomplish but I kind of like a jab at Trumplethinskin.
  13. Beer Beer Beer, it makes me want to cheer! It would be easier for me to list the beers I don't like (Bud, Coors, Mich., Adams) than faves. My go-to is usually the calorie-councious Miller Lite but prefer a Stella; all 150 calories of an 11.3 oz. can. Love trying crafts and especially enjoy an IPA. Got a 1 gallon brew kit for Christmas. WooHoo!
  14. This is such a great refuge. Warm fuzzies for all! Be well.
  15. NYTimes weighs in on the Trump Foundation. 'Among other measures: ■ Both the Trump Organization and the Ivanka Trump brand — a line of jewelry, clothing, handbags and other items — are exploring options for an outside monitor to help oversee operations, block inappropriate contacts between the companies and the federal government, and provide independent voices for management decisions, executives involved in the efforts said. One option is a trustee who would run the business alongside Eric and his brother, Donald Jr. The Trump Organization has discussed turning to legal experts such as former Attorney General Michael Mukasey as potential trustees. ■ The Trump Organization, in some cases citing deficiencies in the work performed by some of its foreign partners or other clauses in contracts with them, is terminating pending or nearly completed hotels and apartment buildings in Brazil, Azerbaijan, Georgia and Argentina, while also forgoing other early-stage ventures in places such as India.' ■ Ivanka Trump is looking at donating proceeds from a soon-to-be-published book, “Women Who Work: Rewriting the Rules for Success,” to charity. ■ A labor dispute with hundreds of workers at the Trump International Hotel in Las Vegas — which generated calls for a national boycott of Trump properties and protest rallies — was suddenly settled on Wednesday, with the hotel agreeing to provide pensions, health insurance, annual wage increases and other benefits that it previously refused to offer. Another agreement with employees at the just-opened Trump International Hotel on Pennsylvania Avenue in Washington will allow them to organize a union. ■ The Trump Organization has shelved a planned 15-foot-tall sea wall at its oceanfront golf course in Ireland after the proposal provoked angry protests from environmentalists both in Ireland and in the United States. ■ Eric Trump said he no longer intended to participate in any meetings — business or policy-focused — organized by his father, as the president-elect prepared to move to the White House, and would not interact with him or anyone in his administration on government matters once he was in office. Ho Ho Hopefully this is just the beginning. That concert! A thing of beauty. It feels like ... Christmas!
  16. We did HoneyBaked for years. Really good but as @JTMacc99 pointed out, a ham is a ham is a ham. Aaand, we're having ham this year. I got so tired of ham last year the leftovers went home with my brother. Who voted against ham this year. (I did score the beer and Prosecco, priorities, people!) My kingdom for a turkey. But I managed to stock in 3 kinds of chips and a bucket of Dean's onion dip. I can't be trusted at home but a holiday rental? I am all in. We did lights Wednesday night. Years since I had done that. So fun.
