S01.E07: The Best Washing Machine in the World
memememe76 replied to ElectricBoogaloo's topic in This Is Us
When they graduated, Randall and Kevin probably went to different schools. Did Kevin go to college? And then Randall met Beth and they seemed to have gotten married and started a family pretty soon. Kevin moved to LA at some point and became a tv star. Yeah, even if they wanted to talk, which they didn't, logistically they couldn't. -

I thought the brother dynamic was very well portrayed. I don't see one bring worse than the other. At the very least, I felt Adult Randall was a bigger jerk. Why not let Kevin speak to their mother? And his office doesn't know he is related to the Manny? Kate is a Buffy fan!- 337 replies

S08.E04: An Eternity of Misery

I am all about Matt. I love Bonnie too but I will never buy her with Enzo. That conversation Matt had with his dad really perked me up. I always felt that there was always more to Matt's mom but the writers dropped it when the actress left for Nikita. Bonnie and Matt forever! -
OMG, the Tupac debate was hilarious.

Big Three Homes may become a reality. In several seasons from now, Kevin tries to extend his fame by becoming a handyman on HGTV a la Vanilla Ice. Calls it Big Three Homes.

Wait an extra week to be crushed. Next week is the election. ;)

I love seeing Kate being sooooo competent at her job! Whereas Randall and Kevin tend to hem and haw, Kate has a direct way about her. Randall's intellect and Kevin's looks perhaps allows them to avoid the glad handling that Kate has to do to get their way. And I will never tire of watching Kate knowing the backgrounds of people. Gawd, the scene between Randall and Jack brought me to tears.

Gender On Television: It's Like Feminism Never Happened

I don't see this view of Glee. I fail to see how characters like Rachel, Sue, Santana, and Brittany were so harmed by the writers. If there is a character who got away with EVERYTHING on that show, it was Brittany. Yet call her dumb, EVEN THOUGH SHE WAS A CRAPPY IDIOT, and all hell broke loose. -

I thought Bill was governor of Arkansas in the 80s ? -
Some interesting tidbits of information. Rebecca has a sister who probably has a ton of kids. So, Rabdall et al have a bunch of cousins. Miguel has at least 2 kids, so we'll probably see them. Would an interracial couple be so accepted back then? So, Rebecca is 6 years younger than Jack, right? I really enjoy the Kevin and William dynamic. Maybe William can become Kevin's assistant.

I will Cat, but I LOVE IAN GOMEZ. Javier from Felicity? Andy on Cougar Town? He is amazing. I still, l think Kara should be in the Lifestyle pages. Food critic.

I like Toby on This Is Us.

What I find interesting about young Kate was how extrovert she was, much like her dad. Adult Kate is is so withdrawn now. I wonder what she was like in her teens. I also notice that young Kate and Kevin don't really do anything together. This was such a good episode. Mandy and Milo are sooooo good. And I hated Jess on Gilmore Girls. I wonder if there is a fourth child. That fourth kid would feel so left out of the Big Three. That photo with the mother Rebecca befriended was kinda weird, as her child is missing in that photo. If I were Randall, it would be weird to hang a photo of your friend's mom and not the friend.

Craig Manning is on this show! That was the most interesting scene for me.

I don't remember one thing about the movie. I really enjoyed this. The acting was good, I live for 90s nostalgia, a and I like the dad and daughter element. The CW doesn't cancel things too quickly so I will at least get one full season.

I like the family dynamic. Certainly messed up but there is love mixed in there. The family last year hated each other and it was hard to care.

I don't know, I would watch both. Didn't Fresh Off the Boat face similar anger before it aired? Also don't know why I would give cable shows the benefit of the doubt. Their diversity is way worse than network.

I am so thrilled for Joy's ratings success. Joy was the first to really hone in on the grunting and sniffing, but Chris was basically telling her to shut it. -
I can say that I was put on a similar diet as Kate back then. Not sure the issue, though. Rebecca and Jack aren't perfect parents. Would posters rather they be perfect and Kate gained the weight in her adulthood after some trauma?

I grew to kinda love Cornell last year. I also think Lewis just needed some time to adjust to tv acting. I think the cast and mystery is stronger this year. The victim is also more compelling than the previous one. The only thing I miss from last season is Phillippe shirtless.

I will give this show one more episode. That scene where the family displayed their idiocy and or meanness to the neighbours pretty much turned me off. I am so tired of all these politically incorrect characters.

The most obvious example of an actor leaving a hit tv show way before their contract was David Caruso on NYPD Blue. Was there an actor who wanted out but the network refused to release them?

Randall and Beth on This Is Us...the best couple on TV? I say yes!

Loved this. So much. The cantaloupe scene brings me back. Something that would've occurred back then. The two major monologues show a resemblance between Beth and Rebecca. Rebecca grading her parenting echoes Randall's perfectionism.
