  1. I have no doubt that Ron Howard has massive clout in the industry and could put kibosh on any contract preventing Kevin from doing his film. Is there really an example where an actor has not been able to do a film because of a similar contract? Would it be that difficult for Randall to get another job? If what he said was true (I don't think he was lying nor exaggerating), I think another firm would take him on asap. I do like the idea of Randall staying at home and Beth going to work, though. Is this the first time that Kate and Toby have confirmed that they will be returning to LA? Maybe Kate has not officially quit her job, then. I want Jami Gertz back!
  2. I love Teen Kate. She is so expressive. And I love Weezer too. I don't mind Sophie but I am more interested in her relationship with Kate than with Kevin. I don't know if it's possible, but I really dig the actress who plays Sloane. I think if she can somehow get into Randall's orbit, wouldn't Poems For my Sons make a great starting point for a play? An African American man with a talent for poetry succumbs to drugs, loses his son and in his grief, he writes poems that he hopes will be read by the boy he lost. I like that Randall likes his job. I don't mind him quitting but I have no real desire seeing Randall doing some stereotypical artistic venture. I would not know how it'd be possible, but maybe he and Kate can run a business together.
  3. This was the first real moment got Kate and Randall and it was great. I loved the funeral. I like the idea of enacting the deceased's perfect day. For me, it would be a run, then reading the newspaper with a cup of coffee, go book shopping, go to a great sushi restaurant, and then cheesecake.
  4. 10 hundred is a word, no? I don't usually say it that way because 1 thousand is easy enough. But I do say 12 hundred instead of 1 thousand and 2 hundred.
  5. I really liked it too. I liked how actually competent Bridget was. I also loved her new work friends.
  6. I kinda loved it? I loved the friendship between Sally and Tyne. And I loved the song in the movie. IMO, the best original song of the year.
  7. This is the first piece of tv or cinema that has given me hope in a long time. I thank the creators.
  8. Further to Sarah's point, the second half of the episode centred around the theme of playing the game, being accepted by the majority by living a life similar to theirs but still being different (and not really being accepted for who you are). I think this was where Dianne and Roma played their part in the fabric. I also think it was interesting how they were in their own bubble--they live in a heavily Hispanic neighbourhood but do they even have Mexican/Hispanic friends? It's interesting how easily Roma used her power and position for her own personal purposes. I'm not judging, I just found it interesting.
  9. I also think the dvd box will be quite impressive.
  10. As a gay Canadian probably 20 or so years younger than the main characters, I never quite got why Americans were soooo angry at Clinton. I get it a little more but not really. But in many ways, the miniseries made the 90s seemed even more bleaker than the 80s. I always have fond memories of the 90s. They are real characters, so I have to ask why Ken and Richard did not add Ken to the house or get wills? And how did the actor who played Richard (loved him on Parenthood as Joe) lose weight so fast? That said, that scene where the asses threw Ken out of his own home made me soooo angry. I thought young Diane was a dead ringer of Mary Louise Parker circa Fried Green Tomatoes so I was surprised that MLP ended up playing Roma. Seeing Cleve's father turn around a little bit made my heart swell. And is TR Knight going to have a more prominent role tomorrow night? Weird he had such a cameo. And the President's staffer is fascinating. A whole movie could be made of that family.
  11. Have you recently traveled abroad? I traveled with a broad, but only to New York. Hee. I am very much invested in this miniseries. What I find most fascinating is the levels of prejudice found in groups who have experienced their own oppression.
  12. I like Archie on Riverdale. A lot. And not just because the actor is hot.
  13. I am enjoying Archie's storyline. It's a nice contrast to the craziness. I find it interesting that Grandma Blossom loved Polly. I think she'd be the daughter of the man who killed Pollyanna and Betty's great grandfather, right? Anyways, I am just loving the show. I wonder if the writers would ever have Archie kill Jason. The allusions to how Archie looks like Jason and him changing over the summer (personally, Archie is way hotter than Jason), is taking his spot in the football, getting into music, etc.
  14. What I find interesting about William's life is that his happiest moments are infused with loss and sadness. His relationship with his mother is linked with the loss of his father. And his relationship with his son is linked regret and knowing his time with him will be short lived. William was likely most wholly joyful while playing music with his cousin.
  15. Seeing William with his mother shed some light into how he behaved with Rebecca back in the day. He could have been more threatening with Rebecca, demanding to see Randall. But I think he is used to being quite solicitous to mothers. I wonder how he would have been if it was Jack, not Rebecca, knocking on his door those two times.
  16. Loved the episode. So much. In terms of flashbacks, I would like flashbacks of when William wrote one of his poems for Randall. It would cover a part of his life we don't really know about. They could spread those throughout the rest of the series. And Randall will now have a new family. Whenever he hangs out with them, a William flashback can occur. Having Jack take care of Randall during one of his episodes last week made tonight's scenes with the breathing less awkward and more flowing. It is really so beautiful.
  17. I find Marcus all sweat so hot. Just a fun episode.
  18. BTW, Skeet Ulrich looks great. I like the dynamic he has with Jughead already. I gather the little girl in the photo is his sister. Generally, the show has done a very good job of making the adult characters interesting.
  19. I friggin love Alice Cooper. She is my kind of evil character. Not one of those love to hate characters. Please don't soften her or give me reasons behind her being such an asshole! I wonder if Betty purposely left the gun for her mom to find during it and then read the diary. And given the last shot of Grundy, I figure she was clearly shown to be a predator.
  20. I wonder when Randall started feeling all that anxiety. Kid Randall at that birthday party with his 2 buds was still pretty chill. This was easily Toby's best episode. Him having been married before really showed. Everything he said, save his thoughts of suicide, he probably told his first wife. I wonder what exactly is preventing Kate from talking about Jacks death with Toby. But Chrissie did a really good job of wanting to speak but not being able to. I quite haven't seen that type of emotion expressed onscreen.
  21. If the lead singer was white, her "hostile" attitude towards Archie would very likely cause the viewer to think the two will at some point hook up. Sure, they haven't interacted with much of the rest of the cast, but if you are going to interact with someone, it'd better be the main character. Also, given the lead singer's mother is the mayor of the city and played by Robin Friggin Givens, I figure the writers will avoid relegating the Pussycats to Vonda Shepard status.
  22. Thank goodness Enzo is still dead. I was hoping Matt was waiting for Bonnie to quickly convey his condolences, and then hatch a plot to kill the Salvatore brothers. She better not accept Stefan's apology.
  23. Chris seriously looks hot in that photo.
  24. I hate when the mean people gang up on the nice naive person. Hate. I will give it one more episode, but I cannot stand for another similar episode.
  25. Loved the episode. I think the revenge story was so much fun, and the mystery is getting interesting. But I really loved the scenes between the Pussycats and Archie. I am a big of seeing students coming together to do something they love. Are Chuck and Dalton comic characters? Dalton is a cutie.
