Acorn is showing a Doc Martin behind-the-scenes as well as a Christmas special - both of which drop over the next few days.

Watched Episode 3 of Season 23 (organic flour mill) and was fairly bored. The murder occurred much later than usual and the preceding story was not interesting enough to keep my attention. The eventual murder mystery was not compelling either. For me, this one was a real clunker.

I loved it. I thought that the transitions between present day and older day were done very well and made this a superior watch for me. I had read the book years ago and forgot all of the details but for the name Robert Blakiston - so I was a bit spoiled. I loved seeing Lesley Manville and Claire Rushbrook as sisters since I just finished watching Sherwood! Having many of the same actors playing characters in present day and older day was a grand idea! Loved all of the scenes with Susan and Mr. Pund.

Season 2 of Astrid premieres on Prime Video (PBS Channel) on January 20. I've been waiting for this for ages. Fabulous show about an autistic woman who works in the police records department and helps the detectives to solve crimes. Season 1 was great.

I believe that Madame Blanc Season 2 begins next week on Acorn.

Just watched Episode 2 of Season 23 (The Debt of Lies) and thought it was pretty good. I love Fleur. She cracks me up. (For those who watch, she also recurs on Ted Lasso.)
-
I think that this is great!

Watched the first episode of Season 23. Fleur continues to crack me up. (She is also on Ted Lasso for anyone who watches.) I also watched the 25 year retrospective, which was good.

I think that you would be fine. The beginning of the first episode of S2 sets out where the characters are now.
-
I was not a big fan of Season 1 but I've found Season 2 to be considerably better. The 23rd season of Midsomer Murders drops this week.
-
Miss Fisher, Candice Renoir, Queens of Mystery, Chelsea Detective, Vera, Karen Pirie, Mcdonald and Dodds, Mallorca Files, Murdoch Mysteries, Frankie Drake Mysteries. (I'm sure I can think of some others.)

They are filming the second season now. Pictures have been posted on Instagram.

I watched this last week. Interesting,
-
I watched the first episode of the second season of Whitstable Pearl tonight. It was better than the first season's shows.
-
Anyone hear anything about more seasons of Candice Renoir coming to Acorn?

I posted this in the Shetland thread: Ashley Jensen (Agatha Raisin) taking over as head of the unit. https://thekillingtimestv.wordpress.com/2022/11/23/shetland-ashley-jensen-confirmed-as-douglas-henshalls-replacement/

I'm amazed that you know all of the characters' names!

YES! The books are quite good. IMO, the first one was a bit slow but the rest move at a bit of a quicker pace.

Have read several of the books and just started watching the show. So far, it fits well with my mental pictures of the characters from the first book. Lamb is a bit thinner and less personally disgusting than as written in the series.

I just watched the entire series for the second time. (Saw it originally on Amazon Prime when it was first released.) I really enjoyed it. Nicola Walker is one of my favorite actresses and it was very nice to see her in a happier/more humorous role than she usually plays. I liked hearing her thoughts via breaking the fourth wall. Also liked the entire team (although Tyrone will always be the shrink from Blindspot for me). Going to Glasgow in April so I was thrilled with the location shots. Looking forward to Season 2.

Totally agree. He is literally "just there".

I really enjoy this show -- and I did not like it in the first season. The relationship between Alexa and Madison is great and I like the addition of Beth to the team. The bright colors shown throughout the show really do add to the mood. Auckland looks sparkling and gorgeous. I hope that they get additional seasons.

I watched Sherwood and Karen Pirie on Britbox and can recommend both. Sherwood is fully of well-known British actors; interesting story about a murder tied to historical mining strike. Karen Pirie is based on a series of books about a cold case detective.
