  1. I just came here to post the same thing. Watched both episodes last night and loved them! Sharon D Clarke is so formidable. I also like the relationship between her and Harper. Fun to see so many Irish actors who I recognize from Blue Lights and other shows.
  2. New show on Acorn called Inspector Ellis starring Sharon D Clarke just dropped. About a DCI who is called into various police stations to solve difficult crimes. Has received good reviews.
  3. I really enjoyed Elsbeth walking in the fashion show. I also liked Molly Crane as the exasperated detective who sees the value in Elsbeth's observations. Nice to see so many NYC theater actors on the show throughout the season. Looking forward to Season 2.
  4. I have been doing an Elsbeth binge of the last few episodes to prepare for Season 2. Loved this one with Key. I've noticed that Elsbeth's relationship with the Captain is getting much closer and she has been given basically unfettered access to crime scenes. Also like the revolving cast of detectives. The Elsbeth shtick has also toned down a bit - at the same time as her relationship with the detective gets tighter.
  5. Completely agree. I really did not like the lead in Season 2.
  6. Agree. I did not like this two-parter at all. Bored. The unhinged daughter was a turnoff and I called the killer very quickly.
  7. I started watching Hidden Assets on Acorn last night. So far, it's very good. The protagonist is the head of a unit at the Ireland Criminal Assets Bureau charged with grabbing assets which are obtained via a crime. She gets involved with a Belgian detective after discovering connections to one of her cases. There are 2 seasons thus far.
  8. Watched the last episode of Candice Renoir Season 10 on Acorn. It is basically the end of the series although there are apparently 2 or 3 more episodes with only Candice and Antoine. They did a lovely sequence of screens showing faces from the past 10 years - former police colleagues, Candice's children and her current police squad. Wonderful way to end the series. Watched the first 2 new episodes of Ridley Season 2 (PBS). I didn't love the show last year but decided to give it a shot this year. Nope - no improvement. Would much rather have seen more Annika than this.
  9. Not a big fan of Eddie and obviously Citra is gone. I liked the two guys from the first season much better. Did notice that the boss was a bit more involved this time.
  10. I thought it was inoffensive and liked the subplot about the missing husband. I also liked that the young son seems to be similarly gifted. I'll watch another episode to see if I continue on a regular basis.
  11. Thanks for posting this. I was considering starting to watch and now I am definitely going to check it out.
  12. I finished Signora Volpe Season 2 on Acorn, which I thought was good - not great. The scenery is gorgeous and the mysteries are fine. I would watch a third season - especially since there are only 3 90 minute episodes per season.
  13. New season of Slow Horses premieres today on Apple+. Season 10 of Candice Renoir on Acorn September 16.
  14. I just finished Season 2 of Blue Lights on Britbox. Highly recommended. It is about 3 Belfast police constables. Very well done. Seasons 3 and 4 have already been filmed.
  15. Just watched episode 2 of the latest season (the one with the chair). It was terrific! Great plot with a lot of twists. I love the relationship between McDonald and Dodds - it has grown tremendously since the first season. I wish they had more episodes in each season.
  16. Interesting observation. I haven't watched the early episodes in awhile but I seem to remember Beck responding with exasperation at some of Gunvald's actions. I don't seem to recall comedic expressions. What season are you up to? I don't want to spoil anything.
  17. Just watched episode 1 of Season 4 and loved it. The relationship between Madison and Alexa has gotten even deeper; she has definitely learned some tricks from Alexa. Continue to love the vibrant colors and the beautiful shots of New Zealand.
  18. My Life is Murder dropped the first two episodes of its next season (4) today. Edited to add: Watched the first episode of My Life is Murder Season 4: quite good - with Madison getting her share of the action. Also watched the last episode of this Season 3 of Harry Wild (Glenn's wedding) which was terrific. TPTB managed to bring their entire cast into this last episode. ETA: Signora Volpe Season 2 premieres on Acorn on July 29. I really enjoyed Season 1.
  19. Harry Wild currently filming Season 4 in Dublin.
  20. Just finished Episode 4 with Harper and Jools. My favorite part was when Harper referred to Mrs. Marlowe on the phone! I noticed that Todd seems to be appearing in every episode - even more than Frodo. I do not remember seeing Harper previously but really liked her in this episode. Particularly liked her scene with Trudy. Just read that they are filming Season 11 now.
  21. Seriously cracked up at the teacher relay race - while the kids were mixing with the kids from the other school. Loved it. Also cracked up at Mr. Johnson finding Ava's secret bathroom. Over the Janine/Gregory will they or won't they moments.
  22. Sorry for the late response. From memory, the later seasons are not nearly as violent as the original few episodes. In later seasons, the team became more of an ensemble and had much less of the cringe-factor.
  23. Glad that Ray's wedding went off without a mass casualty event. Still very suspicious of Hana's new boyfriend.
  24. Beck Season 9 drops tomorrow on MHz Choice. The whole series spans over 20 years and is terrific.
  25. I so hope that Hana's new friend is on the up and up. She deserves some happiness. Have to admit that I cringed each time that he was on the screen. Good episode.
