I thought that episode 4 (green village) was fine but not memorable - with the exception of the weather vane through the heart. That was a nice touch. Always nice to see Julie Graham, who shows up in almost every British mystery I watch.

Loved how Julia rallied the entire GBH team to defeat the feds. The final shot of Julia and Paul in bed seemed to be a rebuke to the rumors. Pleased for Alice and Isaac; her mother's reaction cracked me up. Cracked up at Avis' continual "fuck off, Stanley". Loved the scenes with Blanche and Judith. I felt as if this was the farewell for Blanche to the series. If it returns, Judith may be elevated (unless she gets screwed over). Also loved Judith telling Simca off. Hope there is a 3rd season.

Agreed. I have always loved Judith Light and watching her face while Judith spoke was wonderful.

I thought the final scenes where Julia tells Paul that she is being blackmailed were very well done. I cringed at how Julia was treated by the White House staff and the Chef. I was very surprised that a relatively famous woman would have been disinvited from the Dinner in this fashion. That did not ring true for me.

Episode 3 - lots of red herrings. Liked the conversation between Ruth and Tosh about "Temporary DI". Potentially interesting connection between Ruth and the Bains. Still not feeling Harry, the fiscal.

Just finished episode 2. I'm really liking the combination of Ruth and Tosh. Tosh has shown a lot of leadership growth since Jimmy left. (I don't find myself thinking about Jimmy at all.) No mention at all of Julie Graham's Rhona, who had a lot more gravitas than this guy (whose name I cannot recall). I understand the need for Ruth's backstory in Shetland but it annoys me the same way that spending so much time on Jimmy's backstory annoyed me. It takes time away from the mystery. Continue to love the music and the scenery. Hope this gets renewed.

Huge news...Astrid Season 3 premieres on PBS Masterpiece Walter Presents (Amazon Prime) on January 5th. Astrid is a tremendous show about a brilliant autistic woman who works in the Criminal Records division and assists the police. My favorite show in recent years. Highly recommended. Astrid Season 3

I watched the first episode of Season 8 last night and really liked it. Tosh has always been my favorite character so seeing her in charge is great. I liked Jimmy Perez but I think he had run his course. Have always liked Ashley Jensen so seeing her in a new role on a well-established show is a bonus. I am looking forward to seeing how she and Tosh meld their very different styles. What happened to Julie Graham's fiscal?

I liked how Judith handled the writer from Life Magazine.

The new season of Shetland with Agatha Raisin as the new lead is now listed on Britbox as Coming Soon. The next season of Slow Horses premieres on Wednesday, November 29, on Apple TV+.

I felt as if the other detectives were used a bit more this season - especially Kaz - which I liked. Huge Nicola Walker fan so I really missed Cassie. So far, not thrilled with DCI James although I did perk up when she finally referred to Sunny as "Sunny" instead of DI Khan. Hayley Mills was totally not necessary; I kept waiting for her to have a larger part in the resolution of the crime. I thought that this season was just a bit too convoluted. Preferred earlier seasons.

Did not know that real life Julia faced pressure from Jim Brass and Hoover. Curious about his threat re Paul. Blanche is really a sad, tragic figure. I've always loved Judith Light. So glad that Alice's mother was supportive.

I did crack up at the Reading host and his interview of Helen Gurley Brown. Really liked seeing Julia at Cordon Bleu. Also like how much screen time Avis is getting thus far. Ready for the European trip to end and for The French Chef to resume. Poor Alice!

I like the character and the actress. I think that she will be a good addition to Most Wanted but I also liked the character of Kristen. I could do without Remy.

I love this show. I hope that Jake is just a normal guy. So happy that the cliffhanger was NOT Morgan kidnapped and having to be rescued by her birth parents. Looking forward to another season where we can see Morgan/Annika and Michael/Astrid figure out how to co-exist. Was surprised by the cliffhanger involving her dad - although it makes sense working backwards. Looking forward to hearing about Blair's baby. I would watch anything that Nicola Walker is in.

So glad that Season 2 is here. Nice to see more of Avis (I was going to write Lilith) off on her own. Loved seeing Julia's face when she first tasted the Loup en Croute.

I agree with both of you. Finished Season 2 last night and thought it was better than Season 1. I love how the detective agency (with a teenaged partner) keeps getting lots of publicity. The chemistry between Harry and Fergus is off the charts. I did miss June, the pub keeper, because a little of Glenn goes a long way.

Finished Season 1 of Harry Wild last night. (I had originally stopped watching after Episode 2 because I was not thrilled.) I found that the series improved episode by episode and I'm looking forward to starting Season2 tonight. The relationship between Harry and Fergus is great.

I like the new addition to the team. Annika continues to crack me up. I love her little asides and comments. I also love her relationship with Morgan. For me, the case is always secondary to Annika's comments to the camera and her interactions with the team and with Morgan.

Currently watching Annika Season 2 on PBS Masterpiece (Amazon) which I adore. Next up: Unforgotten Season 5
