  1. Exactly the same for me with "Roy Kent"!
  2. Just watched the first 2 episodes of Season 1 of Dalgleish. I enjoyed it and am looking forward to more. The sidekick is definitely annoying.
  3. I actually liked Joe better than Aidan. Will be curious to see if they elevate from within or find another sidekick.
  4. Watched Episode 1 of Season 4 of The Bay tonight. Thought it was pretty good.
  5. My sense is that Jimmy Smits is the main recognizable name in the cast and TPTB have decided to focus more on him. It's not great for story purposes.
  6. I binged all 4 episodes of Holding last night on Acorn. It is set in a small Irish town near Cork. The protagonist is a local police sergeant who is confronted with the discovery of bones - likely the first murder in the town in a long time. Some of the acting was great and the story was interesting. Brokenwood Mysteries returns in early April as does Season 6 of Candice Renoir on Acorn. The next season of The Bay starts today or tomorrow on Britbox. I also saw that the next season of Sister Boniface is listed on Britbox as "Coming Soon".
  7. Agree completely on both topics.
  8. I loved the books and, of course, am constantly comparing them against the series. In the books, Lamb is much grosser than Lamb in the series - he is constantly farting and is even more slovenly. I don't think that the Lamb in the series is portrayed as even close to the repulsiveness of Lamb in the books. Shirley Dander is very different in the books than in the series so far - both physically and in terms of her mental stability. Will be curious to see if her character changes in the next series. I love Catherine. She is competent. The rest have some splashes of competence but then do something stupid which helps to explain why they are in Slough House. KST is perfect as Lady Di.
  9. I really like the supporting cast - just not Remy - who eats every scene he is in.
  10. Scott Cohen played one of Lorelai's boyfriends on Gilmore Girls.
  11. I got part way through this episode and stopped. I like Steve Howey but I am not feeling the wife or the operative who does not shut up. I agree with the comment above about the wife wearing too much eye makeup and looking too glamorous. I did like the neighbor continuing to spy on the children.
  12. I cracked up at Remy driving his sports car like a maniac following the Yellow Cab with the Broken Taillight in major traffic. Also laughed at him cruising the streets and later happening to find the next suspected vehicle amidst all of the other cars on the road. I did like Sheryl and her dad issues - as well as her reunion with her old colleague, who I was sure was going to turn out to be a bad guy. While there was a lot of violence, this episode was not as gruesome and reminiscent of Criminal Minds as many others so I liked it.
  13. THIS! How could they not be wearing face masks while trying to find airborne poison?!!! I was disappointed in the solution to the Big Bad. With Sonya/Jack injured and preoccupied, is this the time to bring back the coroner who had chemistry with Max in a prior episode?
  14. I really liked Sophie's interaction with the Dispatcher - especially when she had to come clean and explain that they were trying to help. Harry has really grown into his job.
  15. Great! Thanks for posting. I love this show. Cannot wait for it to return.
  16. Loved that they named the baby after MeeMaw.
  17. Agreed. I recall the book having a lot of extraneous material. They did a really good job streamlining it. The actress playing the killer did a great job. Her facial expression when detailing each murder was pure evil. Loved the final scene.
  18. I think that the Suarez storyline is dragging down the show. I understand that Smits is the most well-known actor in the cast and they are struggling to get renewed but I'm not thrilled with the added emphasis on his character. He was fine as Regina's staunch supporter but the political storyline bores me.
  19. I liked the scene at the end with Regina and the therapist.
  20. Candice Renoir Season 5 premieres tomorrow (Feb. 27) on Acorn. The Bay Season 4 premiers on Britbox on March 21.
  21. I am 2/3 of the way done with DI Ray on Amazon Prime (PBS Masterpiece). It's not bad (and a quick binge) although I guessed the big twist which just occurred. Filled with familiar faces: Gemma Whelan, Jamie Bamber and, of course, Parminder Nagra. It was just renewed for Season 2.
  22. Just watched episode 3 where Strike visits Creed in the mental hospital. Realized that the actor playing Creed also played Louisa's long-lost criminal father on Doc Martin.
  23. Another difficult episode to watch. My sense is that the topics became even darker with the switch from Jess to Remy. I really like the supporting cast - even Edwin Hodge, to whom I have warmed up. However, I have never taken to Remy. I thought that Jess brought a sense of humanity to the process; I don't feel that with Remy. Perhaps it had to do with Jess's family - not sure. Not sure how much longer I'll keep watching.
  24. I stopped watching midway through. The crypto story annoyed me.
  25. I thought that introducing Dr. Hudson at this point in the season was suspicious. Why were both of the brother/sister team unavailable? I liked him a lot but didn't smell right. They do seem to rotate the lab techs in and out. I don't recall seeing the entire cast in one episode.
