  1. Evelyn Mitchell for the win! Love the actress and love the character's smarts in trying to escape and survive.
  2. Same comment regarding the airlocked computer on the latest "FBI" episode. I liked the glimpse of Morgan's home life and seeing Ludo with the kids. The FBI profiler was a bit much. I suspend all thoughts and intellect while watching this show. I just go with the flow and enjoy it.
  3. I thought this was a terrific episode - especially gripping during the final scenes.
  4. My guess is that they use the turmoil with Nina's sister as a vehicle to write her out for 2 episodes. It seems as if they have been using less than the full cast in some episodes to save money.

    S01.E01: Pilot

I really wanted to like this - hoped it would be similar to Elementary - but I thought it was pretty bad. I was bored. Not sure that I will try another episode.
  6. Watched the first episode of the last season. Nice recall to Joe's daughter calling Vera "Mussolini". Joe being so nasty and depressed really put a damper on this episode. I really just want to soak in the brilliance of Vera and he is not helping. Have we ever seen the Chief Super before?
  7. Binged in 2 days. Love the Tosh/Calder partnership. I think that each is growing through their interaction with the other partner. I even like this better than the Jimmy Perez era. Think there is sufficient use of Sandy, Cora and Billy. I do wish that Julie Graham's fiscal was back instead of Harry, who I think adds nothing to the show. Agree that there were a ton of red herrings - many of which were left hanging without proper explanation (Brutus, the fate of Harris, what will happen with Astrid and her father). The whole flashback sequence with Annie's former life was not needed. Loved the moment when Ruth whispered "I know" into Noah's ear. Also loved the end scene where Tosh responded to her "friends" going for drinks without her by by hanging out with Ruth. Looking forward to Season 10.
  8. Watching Partners in Crime: Potsdam Homicide on PBS Passport/Masterpiece. The first 4 seasons were called Luna and Sophie and focused on two childhood friends who become Potsdam police detectives. Once the actresses quit the show, it changed casts and names. Entertaining, light, no real violence and good characters.
  9. I know that it has its own topic but I cannot recommend Astrid enough. It is the one show that I wait impatiently for all year. S4 just dropped on Prime Video and PBS. Fabulous show - watch from the very beginning to see the growth.
  10. I watched S4, Episode 1 as well. Cracked up as everyone mentioned Raph's new hairstyle. Loved the sleepover! Laughed out loud at Astrid complaining that Raph's "twisting and turning" was keeping her awake. They are like an old married couple. Looking forward to meeting Astrid's half-brother. Edited to add: Have now watched through Episode 5. The episode set at the chess tournament is my favorite. Loving the introduction of Niels.
  11. I agree that this was the best season of the series. I liked how Blake slowly developed respect for Eliza's talents. Also liked how they made baby steps towards each other. Eliza was able to shine on her own - without William's assistance. The Ivy/Eliza relationship is my favorite. I was worried that something would happen to Mr. Potts at the wedding to make Ivy a widow. She had so much character growth this season. Cracked up at Mr. Potts now living with the two women. I'm betting that Patrick Nash comes back to town next season and that TPTB find some way for him to be able to regain his private detective license. I also liked the thawing in the Eliza/Phelps relationship. She had his back when the photographic plates were stolen in an earlier episode. Lastly, will be interesting to see how Eliza gets on with Blake's daughter, who seems to be a "little Eliza". Hoping for Season 6.
  12. I like how TPTB are slowly allowing Blake and Eliza to work together. Also like the integration of the daughter. Now that Eliza has helped Detective Phelps, is he leaving the show to be a DI at another station?
  13. Nice to see Mrs. Parker back again - and potentially in Eliza's debt. Surprised to see that TPTB wrote off Patrick Nash - at least for now. Eliza living with Mr. Potts! Clarence impersonating a DI was perfect.
  14. I love the storyline with Ivy working for Inspector Blake. I would not put money on the marriage between Ivy and Mr. Potts ever occurring. Seeing Blake's motherless daughter and her love of reading/school issues reminds me of Eliza's back story - which I am sure is the intent. How many more episodes until we see Eliza bonding with the daughter? I like the Eliza/Blake interactions much more than the Eliza/William ones already.
  15. Season 4 drops on PBS Passport on January 3.
  16. Really liked Nash/Eliza in prison. Noticed that Fitzroy now calls Eliza by her first name. The Ivy/Eliza relationship continues to be the most important one for me.
  17. I really liked the chase scene with River, Louisa and Flyte running after Harkness - as well as Louisa pulling the grenade out of River's hood. River leaving his grandfather at the home just about killed me. I was hoping he would have a last second change of heart and hire an aide to take care of him at home. I love Joanna Scanlan (Moira) so was thrilled to see her best Whelan. The Terminator really threw me off. Very unrealistic. Otherwise, the office shootout was tense and well done.
  18. Agreed. This show reminded me of so many other awards shows. It lacked the stature and class of the prior KCH productions. I hope that this is not a trend. I also missed the filmed bio introductions.
  19. Patrice reminds me of the Terminator....bullets bounce off of him. Not realistic.
  20. I did not love this episode as much as the last one. Also questioned why River jumped out of the ceiling so quickly after the Dogs left. I've read all of the books and like them better than the series. Could not watch the beatdown of Sam.
  21. Joanna Scanlan! One of my favorite actresses.
  22. The transformation of Ava is, for me, the best part of the show. Very smart move by TPTB to let her character progress from being a joke to being a competent principal with unorthodox methods.
  23. Watched episodes 3 and 4 of Dalgleish which I thought were much better than 1 and 2. I liked the inclusion of the abused women's shelter and the exclusion of the DS from the first two episodes. Watched 5 and 6 last evening. I thought these were excellent. Really liked Dalgleish's mentoring relationship with Kate Miskin. This felt like a series finale with Dalgleish indicating that he was moving towards getting past his grief and beginning a relationship with Claire Goose's character from the first episode of this season.
  24. Totally agree. Biggest change to the show since Season 1.
