  1. A few days off social media doesn’t seem like enough of reason to believe a courtship announcement is forthcoming. Still, I do have to wonder how the networks would work out a deal that would allow them both to appear on each other’s shows. I feel bad for Jana though because folks have repeatedly tried to pair her up with Lawson, and for all we know, she thinks he’s a jackass. I think if Jana and Lawson were going to hook up, it would have happened long before now. I suppose one could play the “last fundie standing” game with them though and assume they’re meant to be.
  2. Where is this new rumor about Jana and Lawson coming from? I’ve looked everywhere.
  3. I wanted Blair to go home over Alexis simply because I liked Alexis’s second outfit better than Blair’s. They both failed the first part of the challenge, so for me, it came down to the second look. Jujubee was hilarious in the first part of the challenge and adorable in her watermelon dress. I didn’t like either of Shea’s trips down the runway. Cracker deserved the win though. She was really funny and trashy in the first part, and the second outfit was put together perfectly. But I didn’t like Cracker’s look for the lip sync at all, and totally agreed with Ru that Roxxy won that one. It wasn’t just her costume. She oozed sex and looked like she meant every word of the song. I appreciated Cracker’s effort, but Roxxy was just hot.
  4. Cracker looked like Cracker in a ball gown. She could have at least put blue in her hair like Gaga did when she wore that dress. That was terrible. And her prom look wasn’t funny to me. I get the joke, but I don’t go for that kind of humor in general. There are some things I like about Cracker, but she just tries too hard, making her uncomfortable to watch on the show. I’ve found her far more enjoyable to watch on YouTube. I do think Shea has an entitled attitude problem because she acts like she would have won the crown for sure if Sasha didn’t have those rose petals. Sasha and Shea were both consistently great that season, so the crown was 100% up for grabs on finale night. Sasha was just better that night, so Sasha won. Shea is mad talented and needs to let it go. I hope we never see a reference to that moment again from her. I was also sick of her fans acting like Shea deserves to win this season of All Stars before we saw a single episode. Shea is great at what she does, but she is not the only talented queen there. My heart is with Jujubee. I’ve loved her since season 2, and she’s never let me down. Her snatch game was great, and she’s the only one that got a real laugh out of me. I also want to say that I believe Alexis and think India was twisting the series of events to try to convince Shea to boot Alexis over her. I’m sure Alexis did say something about how it might be smart to cut Shea, the biggest competition. I know Mayhem certainly did. But I don’t think Alexis was actively campaigning against Shea in that episode. And I don’t think they approached India and told her to pick Shea’s lipstick. I don’t believe India because her timing of the reveal is very, very suspect. If she really had Shea’s best interest in mind, she would have told Shea about it weeks ago, back when it first happened.
  5. I’m wondering if we are going to see Mark kill that bear he’s hunting. It seems like he’s doing great so far, other than his bowel issues from eating too much fish. He’s got plenty of food, and a good shelter. I think he’s thriving so far overall. Also I did not need to see Keith puke like that. Too much! I’m not surprised he tapped. He barely ate, and when he finally caught and ate a squirrel, he got horribly sick. I don’t think he needs to be ashamed though. He tried. I like Joel quite a bit with his rabbit hunting reenactment scene. That was pretty funny and even educational, not that I’ll ever be hunting rabbits. I cringed through that whole fly scene. I suppose Callie is entertaining, and I’m glad she’s having some fun thus far, but I don’t see how she makes it 100 days. We learned from Wonida last season that you can’t survive on rabbits alone. She needs fish. Roland is too grumpy for me, both on and off the island. He just isn’t having any fun at all. Tonight he mocked contestants who make little crafts to amuse themselves. He finally caught two fish, but he’s way behind folks like Joel and Mark in the hunt for enough food to last through winter. He’s going to need a lot more fish.
  6. Roland seemed very defensive to me. I think the show is already hinting that he either taps out or gets pulled due to weight loss/starvation. The little chevron indicated he burned 500 calories an hour building that shelter, and in the after show, we got a clip of him complaining about how bad his spot was for resources. Then he made an reference to drawing a bad bull in one of his comments, as if his lackluster performance thus far is due to a bad spot rather than his own mistakes. In other words, he’s already making excuses, and when Colby asked him what ingenuity Roland showed while out there, Roland didn’t have an example. Instead, he immediately got defensive and claimed he thought up ideas all the time. I bet he tapped out, and he will be unwilling to accept any responsibility for his own mistakes. To be fair, I haven’t liked him from the second he showed up on my screen, so I maybe judging him a bit harshly.
  7. I don’t think Rob seemed bitter at all. He asked Natalie two questions that were essential in explaining why Natalie lost the game: 1) why didn’t she take out Tony and 2) why did she stop socializing with people out on the edge. Those are the exact two reasons why she lost. He was giving her a chance to defend her choices in both cases. It’s not his fault that her answers didn’t satisfy the jury. Rob is a very smart guy, and he knew what the jury was thinking about Natalie, so he spoke up and asked the two basic questions that were on everyone’s mind. I also didn’t hear a note of mocking or unkindness when he asked. He just asked them, calmly and cleanly. As with all things Boston Rob, his haters will see one thing and his fans will see something else.
  8. Tony deserved to win. In my mind, I don’t see how that’s even a question. Survivor has never been about pure physical dominance, and that is all Natalie brought to the game. Also, if I’m not mistaken, almost every player said they hated the edge twisted before playing this game, so I was fairly confident the returning player wasn’t going to win. I’m shocked it wasn’t a unanimous vote for Tony, and I hope the four that voted for Natalie did so to ensure she got the second place money because they respected her more than Michelle, not because they actually thought Natalie deserved to win over Tony. Tony played a near perfect game, and he played it with a ton of heart this season. I realized as I watched the finale that I was celebrating a little each time Tony got another step closer.
  9. I almost burst out crying once the post show note about Tanner living as a gay Christian man came on my screen. I think Bob’s talk about how Tanner is God’s perfect design struck a chord. I love that drag can make people celebrate gender and sexual diversity, and this show makes me cry every episode.
  10. I read the book more than a decade ago, and my memory was that Claire was gang raped. My impression while reading was that all the men took turns throughout three night. I’m shocked to read here something different.
  11. This was my favorite episode, and I knew all three were going to be declared winners about halfway through the lip sync. They were all great in the roast, and they all really gave it during the lip sync (though Betty won it for me). It was a very satisfying ending to an excellent episode. Ross actually made me tear up a little when he talked to Matt/Betty about how guys like Matt used to bully him so seeing Matt be open and loving was inspiring.
  12. If Tony makes it to the end, he should win. Also, Nick is an absolute moron voting out Jeremy instead of Ben. As Michelle so accurately noted, he had no path to the final 3 after that vote. It’s likely that the player who gets back in will have an immunity idol because Natalie, Tyson, and Rob all have one. So my guess is Michelle will be the next to go home, assuming she doesn’t win the final 6 immunity challenge. At final 5, Denise or the player from the Edge goes home. Same at final 4. That leaves Ben, Tony, and Sarah in the final 3. And Tony will win. The only way that path changes is if the person from edge wins every immunity challenge to get to the final 3. So it would be Tony, Sarah, plus the edge player. I still think Tony wins in that situation too. If the person who returns manages to get Tony out, then that player might actually win. Otherwise, I still say it’s Tony’s game to lose. I just don’t see the jury voting for anyone but Tony if he manages to get to the end. These are winners. They’re not going to vote for the player who has won the most challenges. They’re going to vote for the player who played the best game. This is all speculation though, and I’m still enjoying this season overall, so I’m excited to find out how it all ends.
  13. I’m so confused! I’ve read books 5 and 6 more than a decade ago, so I admit the details are sketchy, but I know Claire is kidnapped and gang raped in book 6, not 5, and I know that Roger and Bree go through the stones because their baby girl is born with a heart condition. So nothing in this episode made much sense to me. Also, is this really the last episode? If so, that was one heck of a cliffhanger to go out on.
  14. These queens know there will be a makeover challenge, so Heidi should have brought a costume that would fit the larger end of the scale that she could tailor as need be. There’s no excuse for that look. It was terrible. That dress had to belong to Jackie because it fits her 60’s mod aesthetic she often goes for. I thought Jaida did the best with the makeup overall, and her super fan was totally transformed both in appearance and in personality, but part of me still wanted Crystal to win just for the sheer joy she brought to the stage. That Bert and Ernie act was adorable and so fun.
  15. Shockingly, Harry and Francesca are still together! https://www.elle.com/culture/movies-tv/a32252897/harry-francesca-too-hot-to-handle-still-dating-relationship-details/
  16. I’m so torn because I didn’t want Sophie to go home, but I also really wanted a true blindside plan to work out at tribal. That blindside was beautiful, except it happened to Sophie, not Ben. Had Tony gone after Ben this vote, I would have called this a perfect episode. I get why he went after Sophie though. He was right that Sophie was going to continue to disrupt his alliance with Sarah because Sarah did seem far more interested in strategizing with Sophie than Tony. Sarah seemed to be using Tony as a number, but her true strategic alliance was with Sophie. One minor detail that also made me smile was seeing Boston Rob give Amber a quick kiss goodbye before he went off with the other men somewhere. I don’t know where they were going, but there’s a split second shot that shows Boston Rob once again showing his wife some love. Those two really do make a good team because Amber likes to play the role of devoted wife and mother, and Rob truly appreciates her. He knows he’d be lost without her, so even though he seems to be in the power position in their marriage because he has such a dominating personality, it’s actually Amber who runs his world.
  17. Rob owns a construction company that does home renovations. On Twitter, he posts videos about the one he’s working on every few days. I have no reason to doubt that this is his regular job.
  18. I thought both Gigi and Sherry Pie deserved to be in the bottom two over Jan, but Gigi’s commercial was definitely second worst. I guess Ru knew that Widow would likely slay a lip synch to a song by her idol Chaka Kahn and didn’t want to risk having to send Gigi home. For whatever reason, the judges didn’t really enjoy Jan throughout the her run, but Gigi has had some truly great moments, so I get why Ru saved her this week. Still, I feel bad for Jan. She tries so hard and just doesn’t get that it’s all that trying that makes her fail. I hope she comes back for All Stars and shines like Trinity the Tuck did. In her original season, Trinity also had that “tries too hard” problem, so Jan should look to her as a model for the future.
  19. I thought Jan and Gigi did great, but Gigi had more tricks in her dance, so I guess that’s why Ru gave the win to her. I agreed with the judges that Heidi wasn’t doing Madonna at all, and Brita just looked awkward out there, so I guess the bottom 2 was okay. I’m happy Brita is gone because the show spent way too much time on her, and I’d like to get to know the other queens better. I know nothing about Jan other than the fact that she studied musical theater in school. What’s her story? Who is her character? Why did she pick “Just Jan” as her drag name? I want to know. We also know zero about Jaiden.
  20. I thought Gigi was brilliant in the snatch game, and while she who may not be acknowledged is a terrible human being, her Katherine Hepburn impression was spot on. I also enjoyed Jackie’s Lisa Rinna. Jan did look and sound like Bernadette Peters, but she wasn’t funny. I guess Jaida’s Cardi B was okay barely, but everyone else was horrible. I hope Gigi and Jackie continue to do well. I like Heidi, Crystal, and Jan, but I don’t think they’re destined for the final. I think either she who shall not be named or the Widow will make the top 4. The show is pretty consistent with the edit, so it will make the most sense to viewers if Gigi and Jackie lip sync for the crown. This is not a spoiler though. I promise. I could also see Jackie tripping up and falling out of the race at top 5 like Miss Cracker did. Honestly, I haven’t truly loved a season of this show since season 6, but I watch every year because there’s always at least one or two queens worth watching.
  21. I enjoyed the first two episodes, and since I don’t have cable anymore, I can’t watch Project Runway until it comes on Hulu, so I’m in with this version. Lol. I guess I did miss Heidi and Tim after all because I did buy into their excitement about this new show. I checked out the winning looks on Amazon, and they are very reasonably priced. As best as I can tell, Esther’s black dress from episode 1 is already sold out. It was around $55, and I would have bought it if it was available in my size. I also liked the white dress from this week. I like fashion that makes me want to look like the model so I can wear the outfit, and I think the winning looks so far have met that standard. Finally, I loved both wedding dresses from the one designer who lost his mother recently. They were gorgeous. I think he didn’t win because of the Amazon connection though. I can’t imagine either dress being sold on there. PS: If you do shop “Making the Cut” on Amazon, you’ll find a link for “Tim’s Staples,” which is an excellent list of staple ready to wear pieces at a variety of price points and sizes. His list may be a little generic for some, but I want several of the pieces on it for both work and play.
  22. I really didn’t want Rock M to go home. I was well on my way to falling in love with her, and now, she’s gone when downer Aiden and super arrogant Brita get to stay. Ugh. I thought Rock M doing beauty make up would get her a bit more credit even though her second and third outfits were bad. Nikki reminds me a bit of Raja, winner of season 3 and one of my all time favorites, so I’m rooting for her a bit. However, Gigi fully deserved that win.
  23. I noticed the pants too! She’s definitely wearing sweatpants in that “how to paint a changing table” video and I say good for her. Enough with the only dresses or skirts rule, especially when she’s home with the kids. She doesn’t need to be “modest” around her husband or small children, so I don’t see why the dress rule should apply at home even under the Duggar standards. I know Michelle clings to that one Bible verse about women not wearing men’s clothing but that verse was written when men and women wore robes for the most part, so it never did make much sense.
  24. I knew it! Just had to get that out. I have some kind of bullshit detector because I said in an earlier episode thread that Cameron and Lauren and Barnett and Amber were the only two couples I bought as being in love. Barnett and Amber are young and dumb and all of it, but they were also crazy in love. They may get divorced in two years though, depending on how they mature over time. We shall see. Maybe they’ll mature together and last. Cameron and Lauren will stay married and have babies together and live happily in love forever. They’re mature enough to make this decision with careful thought, so I think they’re great together.
  25. I’ve also told a few friends about it, and now they’re watching too! I think it’s better than the Bachelor has ever been because it’s even more embarrassing and it moves at a much faster pace. It’s just fantastic trashy reality television, and I love it.
