As a reminder, this is the thread to talk about the latest episode of Survivor.  Any continued talk about the Brown's players, statistics, rankings, etc (I'm not a sport person.  I hope those are the right words) will be removed.

I found it funny when in a talking to camera after she found out people were thinking of voting her out she said how she had been a division 1 soccer player and how the others don't know how strong she is.  If she had been performing well at challenges people would know how strong she is.  If people don't recognize she is strong because she hasn't been performing in challenges then maybe she isn't as strong as she thinks she is.

I think she has been performing quite well in challenges.  She was the first one to get up that slippery incline when the rest of her tribe couldn't.  I have noticed her do well in other challenges as well.

But, her D1 soccer playing was very limited due to injuries.

First of all I hate when people go thru other people’s personal belongings.

I just watched this morning and I came here just to complain about this.  It gets me so mad when they do this.  There should be a rule.  That being said I wanted to smack that guy who cozied up to Joe and then in his TH said he was going to vote him out.

That would just be the Outcast tribe twist and I guess they wanted to try something different.

Probst said that the members of the Outcast tribe were given the same food and living conditions as the players still in the game. He clained that there was no advantage to being voted out. I think we are seeing EoE mainly because no one believed Probst with Outcast Tribe. So this time we get to see their living conditions.

Huh, I read here that they were given nice living conditions and whatnot. I watched that season (and every season), but I barely remember the one that aired last let alone one from over 10 years ago lol.

I was annoyed by that, too.  Yes, it's the game.  I get that.  But what little I've seen of Ron (both on the show and in secret scenes/bonus clips) makes me believe he's one of those that thinks he's better at the game than he really is.  I especially hated that he simply lured Joe away so Julia could go through his stuff.  Damn I wish he had the idol, and we saw those two gloating about voting him out and how he has no safety net-and then he whips the idol out during TC.

But I've always hated how people are allowed to go through others possessions.  I do remember a funny story from S30, when Dan claimed he lost his undies in the ocean, and then Tyler went rifling through his bag I think to see if he found an idol or advantage in there-only to find a dirty pair of undies that had supposedly washed away.  You think finding Dan's underpants would scare anyone in future seasons not to go looking through each other's bags.

What if one of them wrote "Jared" instead of "Rick"? And Jared goes to Extinction with a backpack full of Subway sandwiches!

In the meantime, at Extinction the Manu tribe is reassembling itself. Soon half of Manu will be at Extinction.

Hmmm You do know that the Original Subway Jared went to prison for possessing kiddie porn, right? I don't think Subway would want any reminders of their previous spokesperson.

I don’t remember how I felt about Wentworth before so it must not have been too strong one way or the other. This go-round I am 100% over her. She annoys me. Her voice. Her opinion. Her limited strategy. Annoyed.

The lovey dovey tribal was boring. I prefer the entertaining and surprising ones.

Her name sounded familiar but I didn't recognize her at all. I too found her very annoying pretty quickly. Don't understand all the love for her by Survivor fans, especially the ones cast on this season.

Please, please, please let this be the last season  with  chicken drama. Neither side will ever accept the other, and the chickens truly do deserve better.  Can't the  producers come up with something new?

I would have fought tooth and nail (!) to choose the comfort reward instead, mostly for that very reason, although I also think the long term benefits of warmth and comfort far outweigh temporary food. Plus, you are training your body to survive on less protein, adding these kinds of foods short term just confuse it.

Didn’t Wendy say on the first episode that she has Tourette’s? But we haven’t seen any of the behaviors she described ever since the first episode, so now I’m wondering if i heard that wrong and there is something else she is dealing with.  She seems like she wants to rock the boat more than anything. Those chickens were happy in their coop and she forced them out; they weren’t “set free” as much as they were ripped out of a warm place and put into the rain.

Yes, I would hate to kill them or see them be killed, but it would absolutely be more merciful than having them ripped apart by a predator. Breaking a chicken's neck has to be much quicker and painless.

If they were going with Edge of Extinction I wish they had structured it differently.  I think every time someone new comes there should be a challenge and the loser goes home so that there is only one person at a time on the island.  The more people who come, the easier to survive the conditions as we saw when Reem was going to pull the sail and leave until Keith came, and Chris provided fish for a meal.  I think this was a huge error by the producers as when more and more people come they will just become more and more bitter as Reem has already established the tone.  I am also over her-she tried to vote someone else out but was on the losing side.  It's kind of like Wendy and the chickens-yes, I eat all kinds of meat but will ensure that nobody eats these chickens and that they die horrible deaths after I release them into the jungle where there are predators.  Reem's version is-yes, I tried to vote someone else out but was voted out instead so I'm going to hate everyone who voted for me and just forget that I voted for someone else.  It seems that every season there are multiple contestants who believe that everyone else should be helping them win rather than play for themselves.

I do hope that Rick will lighten the environment of EOE.  And, I certainly hope that Reem's attitude doesn't drive out someone I like while she stays (and yes I understand that would be a valid strategy, but as a poster above stated, part of enjoying Survivor is when an obnoxious contestant gets voted out and I don't have to hear from them again unless they are on the jury and get to ask a bitter questions...)

Yes, agree on the chickens and I too am finding EOE boring because nothing happens. Unlike the show Alone, these people don't seem to be doing anything to improve their shelter and Chris is the only one with the initiative to increase their food ration. If only one comes back, I hope it's him. I was absolutely stunned that his idiotic tribe voted him out last time. Plus, nice eye candy.

Ok, so we have two tribes with 5 people, one with 4, and 4 on EoE island.  And still not a single person has left the game.  Something better start happening soon.  Time to bring the 4 exiles back.

It WOULD be pretty funny if they all came back, just as if all of them have been doing a practice run and not actually involved in the Survivor competition. Even funnier if it hadn't been filmed. Wendy would have had to establish her wacky credentials all over again.

If one didn’t notice that the large number of pro-Browns posts in this thread came from a single user, one could get the impression that there are a lot of Browns fans here.

Ahhh thank goodness. With all these interminable sports postings, I was beginning to think I was on a football show's thread. zzzzz Thanks Mod, for ending that.

LOL Julia is very annoyed that you don't know her. She even tweeted, paraphrasing, that she is not getting air time because she is Black. Never mind that the only people I know from Kama are Joe, Aubrey, Ron and Victoria. And I have to think about Victoria's name. Tonight I learned that there is an Aurora who Joe trusts and we saw her. I have no idea what the name of the black haired dude on Wendy's new tribe is. He seems nice enough, which is probably why I don't know him. He is not stupid enough to have discussed voting out someone with that person next to them, which stands out in my mind. He is not a returning player. He seems to be nice, which probably means boring. He has not complained on twitter about about invisible edit because of his skin color. But I liked that he wasn't an ass about Wendy and just handled her stupidity with a shrug.

There are a bunch of other Kama people who I have no idea who they are.

Part of that is their tribe is winning. The other part is probably because most of them are not exciting TV. Hell, we are not even getting Joe spear fishing glory shots, like we did for Ozzy,  so Joe must be boring them.

I remembered Julia in the first couple of episodes, but after that all I could remember was that she had long black kinky hair. I don't think I even noticed that she was black.  I do tend to be a bit colour blind and remember personalities more than looks. I am sure we will see much more of her in the near future, she looks like a dominant player once we are over teams.

I think she has been about average in challenges.  At no point has she really stood out as being strong or weak.  I think when it comes to challenges, especially at the beginning of the game when there are a lot of players, Jeff will call out if you are doing something really well, or doing something really badly.  This highlights a few players as the ones winning or losing the challenge for their tribe and everyone else just comes across as team players.

Jeff does do that and I think it's misleading.  Those team players are just as important to the win as the jock who sinks the final coconut basket and gets all the credit.

Why aren't the EofE people trying to build a shelter?  Couldn't they weave some fronds and attach them to that wooden frame in the background?  Are there no trees?  I want to see the area in the daylight.

They have nothing but time and yet Reem and Keith don't seem to have done anything but go get the rice delivery and I doubt if they would have done that if they had known how little they would get for their effort.

I do admire that no one has quit yet.   Sitting in the rain all night has made some pretty tough people cry and they at least knew they were still in the game.

Reem was shown weaving palm fronds on her first day there. I don't know what happened with that... Maybe it blew off!

So, there are 2 episodes this week. I guess it could be 2 bad episodes that they want to burn off to get the show moving or it's 1 person getting booted and it's a great 2 hour episode. Either way, it's 2 hours of something. LOL!!!! It is funny that it's all one tribe on EI. They couldn't have planned it any better. Although, it could have been a mix of people who didnot know anything about each other. I guess that might have been even more boring from a story telling point of view.

What I don't understand from the way things are going is, how will the editors start to show confessions from other people after say 5-6 episodes? I mean, assuming one of the old Kama tribe wins, how will it be explained that the winner had so little confessionals in 6 episodes and they started being shown after the merge?

I still think that the best strategy for the new players this season would be to vote out the four returning players and then, after episode 4 (that means now) they would begin to play the normal game. What a slap this would be to the producers face to show that we don't want returning players to play again! It would have been priceless.

If that was the plan, they needed to tell them something like "only one of you will get off this island" and make the competitive aspect clear.  If they do that, no more lovefest EDGE OF EXTINCTION, I think.

I'm wondering if they are going to have to vote someone back in.

I seem to remember that's how the Outcasts worked: they had a challenge against the non-Outcasts, then voted in Lil and Burton. I feel like somewhere it was suggested that they voted Burton because they thought he could do the best/fuck up other people's games the most and Lil because they wanted to party at Ponderosa without her, lol.

I always thought it was funny that they had that much forethought about partying at Ponderosa without Lil. Oddly enough, Rob was joking (telling the truth) about this on RHAP just the other day about this. He sort of laughed it off that he didn't know the true story but I think he does and was correct. Of course, I'm sure they didn't think she make it to the Final 2 either. LOL!!!

I'm curious how EI is going to play out. None of us really know how they are getting back in the game. In fact, the people on EI don't either. So, we are all in this together. LOL!!!

Again (as per my comment last week), no predators in Fiji of a size to tackle a chicken, unless a feral dog got away from a village or something.  From this site: "Mongoose, cats, pigs, and rats are efficient predators on native birds, reptiles, amphibians, and invertebrates, causing greatly diminished populations or extirpation on islands. Taveuni is the largest island without mongoose at this point, and Gau is still free of feral pigs. "  I don't know what island they are on and whether there are even any permanent inhabitants.  (per Wikipedia, "Fiji consists of an archipelago of more than 330 islands—of which 110 are permanently inhabited.") I expect they tend to choose uninhabited ones for camp sites (and fly or boat them over to village-based rewards).

Not that I approve of what Wendy's doing, even though I myself don't eat chicken.  But she's not dooming them to meet nature red in tooth and claw.

I said to my son that Rick was just going to walk up there, read the signs, and grab the torch without hesitation and turn left.  And he did!  No "F those guys," no "dear Jesus dear Jesus," just a silent thought "okay then" and here we go.  (I don't mind Rick and certainly liked his pairing with David much better than Kelley's two bonds).

Visit Hawaii and check out the feral chicken population. Chickens and Roosters are all over the place, hell, I bought my kid a Rooster with a Lai stuffed animal after my last trip to Hawaii. The chickens are going to be fine. They are harder to hurt then you would think.

Same with St. Thomas in the Virgin Islands.  Lots of penned chickens got loose during last year's massive hurricanes, and they're still wandering around - even in the main town of Charlotte Amalie.  And they sure didn't look like they're missing many meals.

Same with my neighborhood in the city. One of my neighbors' backyard chickens, a pretty little black and white speckled hen, got loose from the coop and stayed free for at least three years, despite all the neighborhood cats who would chase her through people's yards.  She was a fast little thing.
