Popular Post JessePinkman January 26, 2019 Popular Post Share January 26, 2019 They let Titus sing the actual lyrics to Circle of Life! That's when I knew it was over. I'm very happy with that finale. It was lovely and funny, I have to admit I got a little misty when Mikey and Titus reunited. I love those two crazy kids. Honestly this show slowly morphed into Titus's show over the years and it was better for it. 1 24 Link to comment
Miles January 26, 2019 Share January 26, 2019 Where was this show the last few seasons? The first half of the season was already funny again, but this was almost back to season one levels. Not quite, but almost. Why were seasons two and three so unfunny, when the writers obviously still had this in them? Did Tina Fey stretch herself too thin also acting in the show? But she wasn't much in season three, was she? Really, what happaned? I think you can tell, I really loved this season. But I loved the ending even more. Love that Tidus and Mikey are back together (even though it seemed a little rushed, but I think they made it work with Mikey just being clueless). Loved all the endings for all the people involved. They are living their best lives, as we saw in the sliding doors episode. If Kimmy hadn't gotten into that van, her and Tidus would be murdered and Jackilyn and Mikey would be in an unhappy marriage instead of with people who get and love them. 3 Link to comment
dubbel zout January 27, 2019 Share January 27, 2019 I teared up a bit when that kid told Kimmy her book made him feel safe. Does anyone know where they filmed the theme park scenes? Rye Playground, maybe, as the series shot in and around NYC? 6 Link to comment
CaliCheeseSucks January 27, 2019 Share January 27, 2019 (edited) I haven't been the biggest Mikey fan but the finale (and the Sliding Doors episode) certainly paid off his character. I'm gonna miss this show so much, even though it was probably better to go off now than when the well was run dry. Ellie, Tituss and Jane deserve Emmy noms but the show seemed to fall off the Emmy voters radar and sadly, that often means "out of sight, out of mind" going forward. For Tituss to have never won is a crime. He's an utter joy, even when the material was weak. Edited January 27, 2019 by CaliCheeseSucks 13 Link to comment
chitowngirl January 27, 2019 Share January 27, 2019 I hated the split season and wished they would have dropped all 12 episodes together. 😕 12 Link to comment
starri January 27, 2019 Share January 27, 2019 I didn't cry and anyone who says I did is a lying liar. The only thing I would have liked was more closure on the other mole women, but honestly, that's relatively minor. I'm really going to miss the show. Perhaps I'm revealing to much but "take it ten seconds at a time" has gotten me through a few bad days. 5 Link to comment
Blue Plastic January 27, 2019 Share January 27, 2019 I'm sad to see this show go. I hadn't realized this was the last season! I enjoyed it a lot but it would have been more fun IMO if they hadn't split the season in half and if there'd been a little more buildup to where all the characters ended up. They were all in pretty much the same level of trouble they're always having (Jacqueline, Titus, and Kimmy's jobs all not going anywhere, Mikey about to marry Blandrew, Lil's place getting blown up, etc) and then all of a sudden pow! everything is pretty much perfect. I also didn't like that they had Kimmy's mother there at the theme park and she said Kimmy did all this for her and Kimmy was like let's go have fun. Kimmy wouldn't be mean to her mother but she shouldn't be a complete doormat toward her, either. 1 Link to comment
dbell1 January 28, 2019 Share January 28, 2019 What a joyous finale. I loved Titus staying on Broadway for his dream, but still getting his happy ending with Mikey. Kimmy getting her own amusement park was awesome, just wish her backpack had made it into that final scene instead of her mother. The backpack was much more supportive. Oh Lillian, never change. I knew TNT couldn't kill her. Jacqueline got a career and a guy. Jane Krakowski just nailed everything this season, and looked stunning doing it. These final episodes were a perfect wrap up to a crazy series that lost its way for a bit. Thank you showrunners for not bringing back the Reverend again, we needed him to disappear and stop haunting our girl. 1 10 Link to comment
Ms Lark January 28, 2019 Share January 28, 2019 What @dbell1 said. I'm so glad everyone got their happy ending. Especially Titus getting to do The Lion King and Circle of Life. I think I need to go watch this one again. I'm not so sure about a movie. Would be nice to see the characters again, but how can they top this? 2 Link to comment
teddysmom January 28, 2019 Share January 28, 2019 (edited) The last half of this season was some of the funniest stuff I've seen on tv since 30 Rock. Where has this been? Did Tina write these last episodes? The whole Cats! spoof "it's old people and kids, they drop the most stuff", "Life Alert, now I can shower with confidence", Greg Kinnear, Jaqueline's feud with Clooney, the wall sitting, & my God does Jane have a rockin' body, I watched the last 2 episodes this morning and I am in such a good mood. And I even got a tiny tear when it ended. Dammit. On 1/27/2019 at 12:38 PM, starri said: I didn't cry and anyone who says I did is a lying liar. helenamonster January 30, 2019 Share January 30, 2019 As a New Yorker, I request--nay, demand!--that they actually bring in Carol Kane as Lillian to rerecord the subway announcements. A crotchety old Manhattanite telling us to go fuck ourselves as we start our hour-long commutes at 8am is truly this city's brand. I also cried when the little boy told Kimmy her book made him feel safe. Even if Kimmy couldn't get that in her own childhood, she is giving it to others in theirs. While they didn't really do enough, imo, to redeem LoriAnn (maybe Lisa Kudrow is hard to get/too expensive for a mini-arc?), there was something very sweet in her being there to ride Kimmy's rollercoaster. They'll probably never completely patch up their relationship, but I don't think they need to for Kimmy to be happy. There was also a very nice subtle detail at the amusement park where you could see a red-headed actress dressed up as a knight taking pictures with the kids. I'm assuming that's the Kimmy-insert character in the book and it made me tear up all over again. Xanthippe! The actress has since dyed her hair blonde so I could tell she was wearing a wig, but I'm glad they got her back in for one last hurrah. Kimmy: "Also, I don't know how to spell your name." Glad Titus and Mikey are endgame and thought him singing "The Circle of Life" really brought the whole show together in a lot of ways: him fulfilling his dream of being in The Lion King on Broadway, he and Kimmy singing it in Times Square in the pilot, and of course the show ending and them all moving on to the next stages of their lives. I am going to miss this wonderfully weird show but am glad it will forever be immortalized on Netflix for constant rewatches. Kimmy's unflappable positivity has been a great source of comfort over the years. I wish all the cast great luck on whatever they do next, but especially Ellie Kemper--this was an amazing showcase for her and I hope the industry recognizes that going forward. tennisgurl January 30, 2019 Share January 30, 2019 That was such a great ending, so glad that everyone got their happily ever after! I admit, I actually got chills when Titus finally got to do the full on Circle of Life song, and it flashed back to Kimmy and the various characters in her life. Kimmy gets to spread her message (oh my heart when that little kid said her book made him feel safe!) and gets to write her book, Jacqueline gets a career AND a man who she really likes, Titus becomes famous and ends up with Mickey and their multiracial children, and Lillian will never have to give up her New York. I love how they wrapped things up. I do wish we had seen more of the minor and supporting characters, but we at least got to see the Mole Women one last time, and Xanthippe got to even be apart of the plot! But mostly, I thought this last batch of episodes were hilarious, and they hit that sweet spot between the darkness of the premise and the wacky happy jokes. It was always alternately an extremely cynical show, often mocking every aspect of modern culture, even opposing sides, and a super happy positive show about finding the good even in an awful situation, and a seemingly cruel and indifferent world. They ended on the positive side, and I am glad that they did, it seems close to the general message of the show. Bad things happen, but you just have to get through it, 10 seconds at a time. The End. *Damn It* Sniffle. 8 Link to comment
festivus February 3, 2019 Share February 3, 2019 Titus and Mikey together, Lillian as the voice of New York, Kimmy and Jaqueline happy. I would have like to see Tina Fey again because I found her hilarious but that was a great ending. Dammit! 1 Link to comment
iMonrey February 4, 2019 Share February 4, 2019 I'm glad everyone got their happy endings but I'm not sure how I feel about Jacqueline's, frankly. The relationship with Eli seemed very last minute and rushed, and I don't know that Jacqueline is really a natural fit for publicist/agent. The quick shot we got of her on the red carpet seemed like a bit of a brush-off. I'd also like to know what became of her son (Buckley?) - she mentioned him but he was nowhere to be found. I don't like the way this last season was split up either. I had forgotten a lot of what happened in the first half, but I remembered that I wasn't wowed enough by it to go back and watch it again to refresh my memory. Overall I really enjoyed this show but it definitely had a shelf life, and they might have even overstayed it a bit. 2 Link to comment

Zachary Quinto should've appeared earlier. I understand he may not have been available and the show tries to cram so much in as is but it feels like they couldn't think of a happy ending for Jackie so they tossed this together. Frankly I would've liked her being a successful talent agent for Native Americans without a man. To me, the whole Jackie arc was her realizing she could make it on her own so to end up in a random relationship with a new character was odd. But yes to whoever said a Jackie and Titus spinoff. I would watch the heck out of that! 2 Link to comment

Dobian March 19, 2019 Share March 19, 2019 (edited) I wasn't totally blown away by the finale but thought it did nicely wrap things up for the most part. I agree with the sentiment about Jacqueline's ending, and why didn't they have her circle back to her Native American roots and reconnect with her parents, which would have been a funny story line in itself. I could see her moving back to the reservation to manage the huge new casino they built. They could have had Trump be the developer and mined that for a ton of jokes. The Zachary Quinto plot did feel forced but he was pretty funny at least. Lilian doing the subway announcement was hilarious. Glad they brought Xanthippe back, I would have liked to see more of her on the show. I'll miss Titus, he was a true original. I'll miss the show. Edited March 19, 2019 by Dobian Link to comment
