Dayum, those ladies sure do dig a tidy grave. I love they squared off the corners so beautifully before they realized it was empty. Probably only took them about 10 minutes, right? Are we really supposed to think these gals actually did this?? This has to be some of the dumbest shit they've tried to shovel on us yet.

As far as Phylth & fascist haircut-boy going at it ...I feel nauseous. Make it stop!!!! (Where the heck are they? Looks like bathroom stalls in the men's room. Oh wait, is that Dark Horse? Way to stay classy guys.)

Please do not think I am defending this crapfest, but if I thought they used that spot because it had already been dug by the city for some reason.  Did this happen, or am I imagining it in the brain fog Y&R put me in?

Heh. No worries BYTOR, I know you are not defending this "show", & yeah, pretty sure for the "original burial" they did use an already dug up spot...but this time they redug it all up- squared off the corners, dug a nice neat rectangle before they realized JT wasn't there? I mean if  I was digging up a body I had buried a few months earlier (yeah, right) I don't think I'd worry about neatness. You don't hit bones or something crunchy (heebie jeebies as I type that) you don't worry about neatness, right? It's not like they found a tunnel that JT (aka "moleman?) dug to get out?

Maybe I'm being too practical/realistic but didn't they realize it was empty as they were standing down in the hole? How long are those shovel handles? How did they get all the dirt up & out? How did they get out? Sorry but this is all just to damn dumb to think these chicks dug all that dirt out & don't have it all over them. I'm certainly no expert & the only graves I've ever had to dig were for my sweet kitties  :-( ....but diggin' is work.

And yeah, I know this is relatively one of the less ridiculous storylines we've seen recently. Maybe I'm reaching straw. back. camel. territory, ya know?

I know that Nick is really dumb but where does he thinking that sleeping with Phyllis again is going to help him win back Sharon.

And that wasn't sexy at all. It looks like Nick is carry a mannequin off the elevator.

Yeah, Phyllis looked unconscious as Nick carried her into his office to debauch her on his oh-so-comfy desk. Oops, nope, it’s not to be on the desk after all. Guess she prefers the sofa so she kicks Nick backwards. This is not sexy, not believable, not anything we want to witness. Who the hell writes this crap, I ask for the 100th time?! I’m actually embarrassed for both of those actors. They must REALLY need those paychecks.

I was never a Phick fan even MS was in the role, but back then, at the beginning, there was definitely some hot sex going on.  You all have already described how ludicrous the non-sexay times on Friday's ep were.  Good for a laugh though, and I can always use a laugh.  But before Phyllis went on her booty call, she actually shows up at the office to work.  Kyle notes that it is sundown and she has summoned him and Billy.  She flounces in and Kyle notes it is about time she showed up.  She informs him he is not grasping how things work; she gets to call meetings whenever it is convenient for her, and she is just like every CEO in the history of Jabot.  Billy says they serve at the pleasure of the Red Queen, and she agrees.  She calls them "boys" and says they are in for a long night.  She then outlines her brilliant plan to get the Jaboteeks up and running in time for xmas shopping.  In less than 24 hours, it appears that she has sourced other international companies' beauty products to fill those shelves.  Explain to me again how opening Jaboteeks and selling other brands is a winning strategy?  Not to mention how they paid for all that considering Jack said they would be bankrupt in a week or whatever, when Ash left with the patents.  Never mind, Phyllis is a miracle CEO.  She wants Billy and Kyle to come up with a brilliant two-pronged marketing strategy and campaigns by first thing in the morning.  Kyle says he has plans, but after that he will work all night to get it done.  Billy actually backs him up.  She tells him to cancel his plans.  He says he cannot.  Phyllis chews out Kyle, but he says he has plans with Lola, she is testing recipes, and he is not going cancel on her at the last minute.  He says he will come in at the crack of dawn, and he leaves.  Phyllis says to Billy that she  should fire Kyle for that.  He scoffs, saying she is going to fire one of the only two Abbotts working there?  He explains that Kyle is experiencing the rosy part of new love, and then notes that she doesn't know what love is.

Drinki and Nick are at the GCAC and he tells her about Sharon's decision that things are really over.  Drinki shares that Sharon was upset after she told Nick it was over.  He asks her what she and Sharon were doing together on Halloween.  She evades the question and then gets a call from Arturo who tells her the work will be done tomorrow.  She says she will be right over with a check.  At the site, we see JT's watch sitting right there in the dirt.  Drinki goes to leave, and Nick questions her again about where she saw Sharon.  She skillfully evades again, and tells him to embrace his new path in life and to move on.

Tessa and Mariah are at CL with Lola.  These three are getting to be buddies.  Lola shares that she and Kyle are getting together at Rey Rey's place and she is going to test some recipes.  They wonder if this means she will be introducing Kyle to her bro.  She's says, no way.

In the squad room, Sharon chides Rey Rey for his poor dietary choices.  She suggests that Lola's food truck should come to the station a few times a week.  Rey Rey invites Sharon to his place to test Lola's recipes that night and she agrees.

Rey Rey shows up at CL and tells her he changed his mind, he is not working tonight, and he has invited Sharon to join them in the recipe testing.  Lola is not happy, but he assures her Sharon is a nice person and will be supportive.  She steps away to text Kyle that there is a change in plans.  Sharon shows up and Mariah talks to her privately, convincing her that it is probably not a good idea for her to be having dinner with Rey Rey, who is married.  Sharon says she has set clear boundaries.  Mariah persists, and Sharon finally agrees and cancels with Rey Rey, telling him it wasn't a good idea.  He is understanding.  I assume that Mariah was trying to help Lola with her private date with Kyle, and thought that with Sharon cancelling, so would Rey Rey.  Which he does, telling Lola that he and Sharon cannot make it. She is pleased.

Sharon sees the "I heart you" pumpkin that Mariah made for Tessa, and there is some sweet banter and teasing back and forth.  After Tessa goes to serve customers, Mariah worries that the two of them are too cheezy.  Sharon says that they are adorable and that even though she had concerns about Tessa, she sees that Tessa is committed to Mariah.  Sharon is happy for her.  Billy shows up wanting a coffee IV or a cup of bourbon.  Sharon asks if these are work issues or Phyllis issues. He says it is the same thing.  She tells him he is doing well dealing with his addiction, and he is very brave.  Hah!  He says that he had to deal with it or he would lose everything, and whines that he did lose everything after all.  She disagrees, saying that those things that fell away from him are leaving him in a better place.  She gives him a pep talk, saying that he is decent.  Uh oh, are we going to see a repeat of Shilly?

At Jabot, the CEO who wanted everyone to work all night is trying to find someone to have dinner with.  She calls Dummer but cannot reach her.  She looks at Billy's contact info in her phone, sighs, then makes a call and says, what do you think about some burgers and fries.

Drinki arrives at the site and asks Arturo if there were any problems or surprises, and he says he feels like she is asking him a question she already knows the answer to.  But nothing comes of that after the commercial break, and Arturo walks Drinki to her car, right past the watch in the dirt.

Billy tells Sharon about Phyllis' insatiable thirst for power and control, and her constant carping about how she is the only one who can run the business or cares about the business.  She asks  him how he is coping.  He says that people should get wiser with age and should know that they are not supposed to fall into bed with their exes.  He says that Phyllis is his boss now, she ruined their relationship, she took his company and now she is giving him orders.  Sharon complains that Phyllis loves giving orders, and goes on about her ego, and her insistence at always being right and never listening to anyone else.  He asks her why she puts up with Phyllis in the charity project.  He asks her why she doesn't just walk away.  She is startled by the question.

Phyllis shows up at DH with food and tells Nick she expects a really big tip.

Kyle arrives at Rey Rey's apt, and kisses Lola.  She tells him he is here to work and not look at her like that.  They are really good together.  He gives her a gift, an apron which says:  Kiss the Cook.  He puts it on her, very sexily.  She says that she supposes the message on the apron is a standing invitation, and he kisses her.  Rey Rey walks in and Lola is flustered.  She introduces Kyle.  Rey Rey says that the kid who is kissing his sister also likes to dig up graves.  Kyle tries to explain the grave-digging incident.  Lola tries to smooth things over.  Kyle says he can leave if Rey Rey wants, or they could hang out while Lola cooks.  Rey Rey says that sounds good to him.

At DH, Phick eat their fast food and then talk about their successes in business.  He is impressed by what she has accomplished by becoming CEO.  She is cocky and says that she can do anything.  He praises her some more.  Then they both complain about their staff who leave work at the end of the work day.

Sharon tells Billy that as much as Phyllis disgusts her, she made a commitment to women in need.  Billy wants to know why Phyllis is doing anything charitable.  Phyllis says she doesn't want to think about what goes on in Phyllis' head.  They talk about their past indiscretion.  Sharon says she is a different person now.

Phyllis is now trashing Sharon to Nick.  She says everyone was on a break, and yet she blames Nick.  She says Sharon never really knew Nick and wanted a fairy tale prince.  She tells Nick he is a force to reckoned with, he doesn't let anything hold him back, if he wants something, he grabs it.  He gets up from behind his desk, and confidently walks around the desk to grab Phyllis and kiss her.  Only, it looked kind of awkward.  they are kissing and Nick stops them.  Phyllis wants it, but he says he respects her too much to do the rebound thing.  She says she likes being respected but she likes rolling around naked with him too.  But, she says, she hears him, and she is going to head back to the office.  She leaves.

Rey Rey is grilling Kyle about his life.  Then he challenges Kyle to eat a spicy pepper.  Lola says no, he will melt his face.  Kyle says he will be fine and Rey Rey eggs him on.  Kyle eats the pepper and has a very bad reaction. Lola gives him milk, and he tells her not to let him pass out in front of her brother.  Rey Rey is laughing.  He gets a call from THE CHIEF!  Who?

Billy tells Sharon he owes her for cluing him in at the wedding.  They toast.  Rey Rey arrives and Sharon says, what's wrong, and he replies, JT Hallstrom.

Kyle lets Lola know that he was laying it on thick with his reaction to the pepper, taking another bite.  She teasingly says he may have made some headway with her brother, but now she is afraid to kiss him.  She says maybe after dessert.  He says, sorry, he has to head out, he has to be at the office early tomorrow.  She thanks him for the apron.  He says he is getting mixed messages, her apron is saying hurry up but she is still scared of his fiery hot lips.  She kisses him and says she is terrified.  Love these two!

Phyllis gets in the elevator and Nick comes around the corner and stops the elevator door from closing.  Suddenly he comes out of the elevator holding Phyllis. She is weirdly stiff, like a mannequin, as other Preverts noted.  He carries her to his desk and awkwardly sets her down.  There is a perfectly good sofa just feet away.  They start undressing and Phyllis shoves stuff off of the desk.  She is down to her strapless bra and skirt and she suddenly pushes him toward the sofa with her high-heeled foot.  That would hurt!  She looks really fucking weird too, her face and her oddly hunched forward body, in that strapless bra.  It was in no way sexy or hot.

Rey Rey tells Sharon the Hallstrom investigation is being shut down.  Billy is outraged that they guy who terrorized Vic is going to get away with it.  Rey Rey says that unless he can find him in the next week, it is shut down.  Sharon unconvincingly says, that is terrible news.

At the job site, Arturo finally sees and picks up the watch which has the inscription, Love, Mac.

@JD5166, thank you, most sincerely, for your comments, and thank you to all of you who read and post your thanks for my recaps.  I cannot tell you how much I appreciate each of your comments and thanks.

Many of you know, I have come and gone, sometimes due to other life priorities, but also when the show is such crap, that I cannot bear to actually watch it to recap.  As to the latter, I find myself at this point once again.  I do see life in the Kyle/Lola story, and in Tessa/Mariah (even though I know that Tessa will break poor Mariah's heart).  But I cannot watch this dreck with Phyllis being CEO of Jabot.  And how Show has decided to make women in power mirror the worst examples of men in power.  I came up through an era where very few women had leadership roles.  I had a male mentor, who was not a pig, not a "me too" bad guy, but just a great, smart man who helped move me forward in my career.  He is still a great friend to me and my husband.

And I am proud that, as a leader, I brought different qualities to the workplace and organizations.  I changed how organizations were run.  I brought empowerment, empathy, consultation, collaboration.  You can be effective in business without being an asshole.

I guess Mal thinks otherwise.  I won't recap a show where Lauren is calling the male colleagues, sweetie, and where Phyllis is calling the male colleagues, boys.  Way to miss the point entirely, Mal.

So, again, thank you, I have really appreciated the appreciation of my recaps, which kept me going.  But, it is time for me to check out.  I will probably skim watch to find out about the end of the coven storyline, and to watch Kyle/Lola, and Tessa/Mariah.  And I will probably comment!

You guys have been so great.

I will miss your recaps Bannana but I completely understand. I had to check out myself over a year ago because I just couldn't take it anymore. I can't even remember which storyline it was that finally drove me away. It's really sad what's happened to this show. It was always such a well-crafted and classy soap. It's not just because of the budget cuts either. I blame TPTB for hiring one hack writer after another.

Thanks again Bannana for all your great work.

Bannana, I get it.  Frankly I don't know how you've managed to keep it up this past month at all.  We've watched the show slip, more and more, over the past few years - then we had had hope when Sussmann returned, quickly dashed and smashed with Mal turning what remained of the gold into shit.  Then, the Abbott family got pretty much destroyed and the remnants of that are now being consumed by Phyllis and her gruesome duo of Lauren and Dummer and I don't know how you've done it so long.

Remember, when Marla Adams was brought back how delightful the prospects were for some decent Abbott family drama?  Now she's been turned into "Ask the 8 Ball" - really nice of Mal to turn Alzheimer's into a party trick - Ashley is gone and with the storyline he wrote, good riddance to her and now Jabot is devalued beyond redemption.  Meanwhile, we've got several vets in a rediculous dead body storyline that was born from a domestic abuse storyline that's been turned into a low rent Weekend at Bernies redo, and otherwise, it's Phyllis, all the time.

It's like somebody took a show and decided to make crotch rot the centerpiece of every storyline, every day.

Your recaps have always been not only detailed and informative, they've all been very fine, funny and extremely well-written.  I'm in awe of your recall and your skill and appreciate the time and attention you given us through your recaps very, very much.

Like you, I'm more out than in with Show these days.  I haven't watched a full episode since the middle of October and now that Phyllis is running Jabot and on screen every goddam day I don't even want to tune in, certainly not to see that loathesome Jabba the Hut in heels nor the ruins of the Abbott family.

Thanks for putting up with it all as long as you did!

There are just no beats to anything on this show anymore. It's all action, to next action, to next action. In show time Phyllis found out Billy slept with Summer, what like a week ago? If that? This is the love of her life - we've been told that for the last two years - who she slept with while married to his brother (because theirs was the deepest, truest love ever experienced by anyone) and yet it's barely a blip for her emotionally. Not that I want any female to be portrayed as a fragile flower, but truly anyone would be a basket case if they found out their fiancee/partner/whatever just slept with their daughter! But no, it's on to business stuff (CEO of Jabot - puke, puke, puke) to boinking Nick on the desk, to whatever's next. This 100 mph storytelling is about as satisfying as a rice cake.

Mind you, this is the same asshole who gaslighted Lily when he was not-dead and before that had the audacity to demand custody of a daughter he had no claim on, whose conception nearly ruined the relationship he had with Lily,* and that inadvertently exposed the whole lie his life had been built on to that point. Moving his kids across the world during senior year of high school is just the snowflake on the tip of the iceberg of selfish decisions, and he can't get off my screen soon enough.

All that said, while I've had no use for any of the Winters clan for years, it's sad that one of daytime's biggest black legacy families have been utterly destroyed. I can't even put that all on MY, because that's been a decade-long death march beginning with Victoria Roswell's firing (and the CBS gaslighting campaign to make her look crazy, as it turns out), then Kneel being an insufferable ass and the stupid decision to remove Lily's uterus, reportedly because CK didn't want to depict a pregnancy onscreen. And Devon...I've never warmed up to him in the 15 years he's been on the show. It took till 2016 to find a love interest he had anything resembling chemistry with and then they kill her off.

Just...ugh.

This show is #DeadToMe

*I say "nearly" because he and Lily all but dry humped one another anytime they were in five feet of each other during Chloe's pregnancy and Cane made it clear at their wedding he was only in it for the baby. Which was a plausible thing to happen in 1952, but in '07-08? When half of all kids are raised by single parents for some portion of their lives? GTFO.
