For a second there, I felt a tiny bit of respect.  It was nice but I was a fool to think it was real.

I for one will not tune in to watch Rick's adventures with Jadis.   Gimple has been desperate to get into the film business and he thinks this is his ticket.

Does Yvette Nicole Brown remember back when she had a CAREER?

In the previews, didn’t all the new people look like the teenage versions of the current characters?

I think I saw teenage Eugene, teenage Michonne, teenage Tyreese, teenage Tara/Lori, etc.

They did look like teenage versions......

Now that Jadis and Rick are gone.  Are we ever going to find out what the helicopter is all about?  Who are they?  Where they are coming from??

They were BRAVO executives who came to steal all that is good.....

We have no idea what the A/B scale Jadis and the Hellcoppers continually reference actually means, but:

  • The Hellcoppers were adamant about wanting an A.
  • FP was actually a B, but Jadis intended to try to pass him off as an A.
  • Rick is a B as well, but Jadis talked the Hellcoppers into taking Rick anyway.

The letter A has been a running leitmotif.  It’s never explained, and it’s annoying.  I can’t see Rick being a B, same as pee pants.  But it doesn’t matter, because we are jumping into a brave new show.

The look on michonnes face when carol and Maggie are holding her back.

Yes, it was almost the same as the look on Maggie's face on that hill when Michonne tackled her to keep her from killing Negan. Karma?

I really liked Rick's dreams and flashbacks and encounters with lost comrades.  I felt like it was such a good reminder of what Rick endured, how much terror and suffering and doubt, but he powered through for his loved ones.  And in a way it would be a relief to finally die.  He fought the good fight. Then he didn't die.  ¯\_(ツ)_/¯  What a way to water down everything in the episode.

I must congratulate you all who have persevered and stuck it out with this show.

I haven't watched an episode yet this year, or even followed the live discussion when the episodes were airing... but I thought I'd make an exception for tonight since I heard that this was "Rick Grimes' sendoff' episode, so I thought wth and check out the aftermath.

..... And its worse than I feared.   Not only is the (nearly) last reason to care about the show leaving his starring role, but the whole thing in the "offseason" turned out to be a big fake out and while he may not still be a regular on the show in the future, Rick Grimes is in fact not dead and will still be out there somewhere permanently residing in a beach-house property located in Offscreensville.  [and now what's this noise about a TWD movie, that AL/Rick Grimes will be in?!?]

You gave me a good initial 4.5 seasons, Show.  But you and your properties are mostly just a footnote in recent history to me now.

I could live with him being alive if he was back with his family. Not with Jadis who is an asshole.  That really bugs me.

Waxing poetic and shedding tears about AL's departure, who seems like a very nice man and consummate professional, now that we know he's just skipping over to "AMC produced films FOR TELEVISION," (yikes) to continue Rick Grimes' story is um.... what's the words I'm looking for? Oh yeah, steaming bullshit. What a deceptive and OTT emotional farewell tour for a guy who is basically not going anywhere. The videos, the testimonials. It's like AL was retiring from the whole game and moving to Costa Rica to surf and sell passion fruits. Oh but he's not coming back to TWD show. Never ever ever. *Gimple wink*

Gimple (I love auto-correct for changing it to Simple every time because, obviously) spewing his typical word salad about this "expanded TWD universe." Great idea as the franchise is in decline.

"The Walking Dead isn't about Rick Grimes." Oh Andy, you look fan-fucking-tastic, but save that shit. We know the show's gone to crap and you're sick of the Georgia heat and wanted to jump ship. Nobody blames you.

In *this* specific context - and regarding how Jadis kept trying to tip walkers into face-nibbles with both Negan and FP - I’m wondering if:

  • A = “lightly” ZV-infected; bitten, but not yet turned.
  • B = not ZV-infected.

At least they're offering prizes now. But, you're right, maybe top 100. Not that I've ever come close to that. lol.

Like the special show set art.

A big FU to all the Daryl fan girls who always hated on Carol for being "too old" for him. Melissa is a stunningly beautiful woman.

Truly. He should be so lucky.

I like that theory. Leads potentially to a more equipped group or some kind of still intact government doing experiments of some sort. After years of big bads, community hopping and herds in the woods, that's an area of the ZA I've been hoping they segue into. Now can Gimple and AMC execute this with any quality, that's another story.

When Gimple said, we're going to see people that have died or left the show (I'm paraphrasing) he quickly sputtered and clarified that he meant that along the lines of backstory. And there would be other films as well as Rick's. Because my first thought was, did this chopper pick up some others we thought were dead? I mean if so, we could technically go all the way back to Jim. (Not that they should)

I really can't believe that they cop out again and just skip ahead by YEARS so there's no aftermath from Rick's "death."  This show pays all this lipservice to how important the characters are and then just whoooosh, forget all about them.
