Ok, well to be fair... my house looks like that a LOT, right before "clean-up clean-up everybody everywhere."  I have a little boy and he can destroy a room just playing in it.

Of course. My house isn't looking pretty right now. It looks like Chelsea's home. lol

But I bet you aren't splicing two photos together, photoshopping yourself in those spliced photos while showing off some mess in your home that your child did.

Let me fix that for you, Tyler.

I’m an insensitive, opinionated, uneducated, trailer park Mexican-White trash.

Does Tyler forget or does he not want to be known as half-Mexican?

Is he saying he can't force Cate to follow healthy living?

Wow, that's more self-awareness than I thought Tyler was capable of mustering.

It’s not self-awareness. He is fishing for compliments.

“You’re not trash!”

Yep, that was my first thought as well - he's just looking for his followers to tell him how awesome he is.

And yeah, sign me up for the Tyler weight loss drug, too.  (But not until Ash Wednesday. I've got some more Mardi Gras eating & drinking to do, as I live in south Louisiana.)

you guys I know...Tyler's a lot of things (immature, selfish, narcissistic) but I don't think he's a complete idiot....

and, as always, after revelations such as this, I need a shower.

I tend to agree with you. Yes he's a pain in the ass dick head sometimes but that kid has a whole lot of shit on his plate. First of all Cate is a mess, apparently so is his sister. Finally, he's given Butch the benefit of the doubt a hell of a lot more than I would have. I would have cut him out of my life by now, but Tyler just agreed to fork over 40+K for rehab for his dad who let's face it, is gonna blow it again. My point is that that's a lot of stress for a kid that young to have to haul around. Obviously, he's not seeing anyone for his own mental health.

What normal person takes a couple of home pregnancy tests and then tells the entire world that they are pregnant 2 days later? Am I crazy or do most people wait a little while and/or see a doctor before making an announcement?

It's especially hard to watch knowing the outcome (I think it was a Mirena thing all along anyway).  Good grief!!!!!

Some women like to share early so they have support with either outcome of the pregnancy.  The weird part IMO is that is is filmed and shared with everyone.

I shared with my mom and sisters I'm immediately after telling my husband. Maybe told my best friend too. Can't remember. But then we waited until our first appointment around 11 weeks to tell everyone else.

I feel bad watching her tell everyone, knowing she lost it. I felt horrible for Tyler in this episode too. He has many flaws, but it must be awful to carry the weight of so many other people's problems on his shoulders.

Literally 4 hours?  I thought she said she just needed $5 to get it reconnected tomorrow.  Maybe they were only there for 4 hours but that's not the same thing.  Butch probably is a master of manipulation but it seems he taught his children well in the area, too.  No way do I believe his sister doesn't also have an addiction.  She was screwing her jaw the whole time.  Plus the house was a wreck, her child was walking on the counter, and I'll keep my comments to myself on her appearance.  I'm not looking too hot these days but I am dealing with a serious health issue and can't keep weight on myself.  So I have no room to judge on that issue but my lights turn on and nobody is worried my kids are going to go hungry.  I can believe that Butch used anything he could think of to not enter rehab.  That would be normal for an active user trying to find an excuse.

Either way, it's still a sad situation.

I thought the past due amount of $500 needed to be paid first before it could be transferred which would cost her $5.00. I think I read that on a post  @druzy had posted from the sister, I believe.

My gosh I was waiting for you to say something... my own children will even testify that there Mommas life is them!! There old enough now to be taken seriously.

Oh good god, don't have your kids responsible for defending their mother to the general public.

I've had a soft spot for Tyler's sister up until now, but if her kids are truly living in squalor, that is just unacceptable.

also THERE is just a lack of understanding for the correct usage/spelling of the word "their" or "they're."  I'm assuming the schools in Michigan are not well?

I'm also assuming that Tyler's sister didn't progress very far in those "not well" high schools in Michigan.

I wonder if the counselors at Sierra Tuscon are being honest with Cate about her relationship with Tyler?  Can Cate handle the truth as hard as it is?  She is so dam dependent on him that I don't think Cate can imagine being happy without him. Her world would end....hope they keep her safe.

I wonder if Cate is being honest to her counselors about Tyler? Her counselors cannot help her if she is not honest. Honest help comes with being honest and truthful.

I disagree. Catelynn smokes pot all day and makes no attempt to hide her use. “Boogietown” brought giddy excitement to Catelynn and April.  It is a drug they don’t use often.  A special treat.

Oh come on, Tyler. Really?

Right. It is more than smoking pot. People can smoke pot without it affecting how they handle their lives and daily living. Cate DEPENDS on pot and uses it to replace her much-needed medication that she was prescribed. She was also smoking WHILE driving. It was (still is?) illegal.  Who knows how much was in her system by that point. If Cate had hit an innocent driver while doing so, it wouldn't be looked upon as "just smoking pot".

Tyler tweeting that his sister's kids are taken care of and are being fed. Now THAT is the shit that makes him a target for snark. No, Tyler. Your nieces and nephews are not okay. They SHOULD be fed. That is a given. Their whole environment is toxic!

That reminds me of something on The Challenge that I saw several seasons ago (for those that don't know, it's an MTV game show with alums from The Real World and a myriad of other shows even I have enough standards not to watch), where a male cast member was accused of being violent with a female cast member. They were both removed from the show. At the reunion, they asked the guy about it, and he said something like, I am NEVER violent towards women. I have never choked a woman, I have never...cue a series of extremely specific violent actions that he has never done, (that leave a lot of room for shit that he HAS done), and of course, it kind of goes without saying most men can say they have never choked a woman. But he made it sound like he was Nelson Mandela or something for having accomplished that.

I guess I can give Tyler the SLIGHT benefit of the doubt and assume he said the kids were fed, not because "not starving your kids" is gold star parenting, but because Butch specifically said on camera (nice, Butch!) that the kids would starve without him, right?

But yeah, the standard for acceptable living is quite low in the extended Baltierra clan's book, it seems.

  • Love 5

I get it Tatum. He felt the need to clarify the kids are fed in response to the starvation comment. It makes sense.

Overall, it comes off as if Tyler is trying to imply MTVs editing is at fault, his dad is a manipulator who can't be believed so, anything he says can't be true, and his sister's situation isn't as horrifying as people believe. Nice try, Tyler.

I kinda had the feeling that Butch may not have been lying about his remark. Yes, addicts lie, but I think there are moments where they speak the truth and this was one of them. To me, it was an exaggeration, but not off the mark. If he didn't cook for them, the kids would likely eat only cereal. They are technically not starving, but they are not also being cooked and served proper meals. In his mind, his daughter won't serve them hot meals if he is not there to ensure he cooks for them. I have known addicts who leave kids to their own devices and cereal was the go-to food. Just like turds are Nova's go-to toys.

I'm going to assume that Tyler is allowing Butch, his sister and her kids live in their old house rent free...where in the hell does their money go then?  If Tyler and Cate still legally own the home then the utility company would be contacting them because it is their house and the bills are ultimately their responsibility.  Tyler had to have known.

It wouldn’t be their responsibility if the account wasn’t in their name. If it were me, I would want proof it’s being paid though. If their heat source depends on electricity they would really be screwed. Broken pipes are not fun.

I wonder if Cate and Tyler ever got around to paying the back taxes on that house.

They are up to date on the candelabra house and have a delinquent balance of $1,431.65 on the octagon house.

I'm sorry, but I'll never believe Tyler's sister isn't an addict as well. And, technically, he didn't deny it. She looked like the fucking Grim Reaper when he pulled up. I thought it was an 80 year old woman who had been on meth her entire life. She looked ROUGH. I've had some weird facial infection for the past week and haven't been wearing makeup. I've got these weird bumps on my cheek and lower right eyelid. I look NASTY. But no one would mistake me for a junkie. There's just a "look", and she had it.

Even if the power situation was just a name-change issue and was quickly rectified, that house looked a FRIGHT. That was not the home of sane, functioning, healthy people. I'm one that always defends Chelsea or Maci for their messy, "lived in" homes. People have different standards for keeping up their houses and I don't really care. But Baltierra Manor 1.0? That was a horse of a different color! Looked like the house in "Peekaboo" on Breaking Bad. Just....wow.

I'm sure Tyler knows his sister is in trouble, but I'm not going to hate on him for defending her. She's got older kids, kids in school. Butch has always been open about his addiction. If Amber isn't there yet, it's not really Tyler's job to out her. He could be just trying to protect her kids, whose friends may very likely see this.

I'm just gonna call bullshit on 5 bucks! Nope. On top of the bill I'm guessing they charge at least 35-50 to restore service. I helped a young relative not too long ago and it was 35 for the gas company. 50 for the electric. 5 bucks is a FIX!

Oh, no doubt. I was just clarifying the $500 amount being mentioned. I think Tyler tweeted there was an outstanding electric bill for $500 that needed to be taken care of under Butch's name.

I think Butch and Amber thought they could pull a fast one with the utility company by switching the billing over into her name. They knew the lights would be turned off and they were trying to avoid that from happening.

Not sure how it is in other states, but here in California when one starts utility services such as electricity, they put any charges on your first bill.  They don't expect you to hand over cash when the utility person goes out there to start service.
