Since there was so much interest in the Kit Carson Before Your Time All-Star Jeopardy Orchestra featuring the Good For You Rhythm Section and the Women Authors Singers. With the No Boo Hiss Players and the Alber Camoo Dancers, I thought it deserved its own thread. This way we won't interfere with the individual episode discussion. The Orchestra is accepting applications from all musicians, singers, dancers, and tech support personnel. Weren't we supposed to have some food delivered?

The whole title is hilarious but it's the Alber Camoo Dancers that really cracks me up:)  Oh, how Alex loves saying "Alber Camoo". And now, I do too.

Whenever I see Alber Camoo, I can hear, and see, Alex saying it. The curse of being a J! fan!

I brought some (French) wine, so while the orchestra is setting up, we can get hammered.

Are we a marching band? If so, I may need to get a melodica instead of a piano. Remember Woody Allen playing cello in a marching band in Take the Money and Run? Or was that before your time?

I'm so far behind in Jeopardy episodes that I have stayed away so as not be spoiled for outcomes, but saw this topic name and just had to ...... chime in (see what I did there).
I swear I'll get caught up one of these days.

For an instrument, put me down for a Theremin.

Are there Potent Potables on the menu?

Some people have offered to bring wine. I could make a nice Sangria tonight complete with fruit marinated in the brandy. (I do a cup of brandy, oranges, lemons, peaches, limes and apples marinated for a few hours and then add red wine) I can also make a variation with grapes, lemons, apples and white wine. Or we could go with a drink of the day. I was thinking of making Tapas* tonight. They’re light, tasty and would go well with Sangria.

For desert I’ll do two cakes. One is chocolate with Nutella (for @Toothbrush)between the layers (4) topped with a homemade ganache. The other would be a butter cake with a whipped cream frosting and strawberries for @Browncoat

*marinated shrimp, olives and pickles, chicken croquettes, baked clams casino, stuffed piquillo peppers, chorizo bites and grilled bread and cheeses.

The shrimp will be marinated in some spices and then quickly flash fried. Lol...not cooked with the olives but that would almost be like a puttanesca. I hate to over cook them lest they become rubbery.  Then the olives (I like combos of them) marinated with a wee bit of garlic, some fresh rosemary and thyme, olive oil and vinegar. I also like to use the Italian capers. They aren’t the small ones we see a lot in the U.S. These are more cherry sized and not as salty. Since I have some I’ll also throw in some pearl onions that have been marinated in vermouth. After mixing the combo I warm the olive oil and spices, pour it over the olive mixture and then chill so that the flavors meld together. I keep the dill, Bread and butter pickles and cornichons separate.

Edited to add that I need a comma policewoman in my life as I’m not good at grammar and punctuation. Thank you for making me clarify.

I am drooling all over my keyboard!

Speaking of comma policewoman, I always use the Oxford comma but never knew it had a name until I found out on Jeopardy!.

Always!  We are at least a quartet so far.  "I dedicate this thesis to my parents, Ayn Rand and God."

I'll bring a couple of jugs of moonshine. Hope none of you mind passing the jug.

And I can play the jug once it's empty. Pseudo Arkansas hillbilly here.

This made me LOL for some reason.

And Saber. That's exactly the cake I would pick for myself. But I'll share with Browncoat, of course. Or maybe we need two butter cakes.

Mindthinkr, you are a Master Chef. I classed up my dinner of Frosted Flakes last night by adding fresh grapes. That's the extent of my creativity in the kitchen. Even my food is boring.

Any suggestions on appropriate music, food, and drink for lovers of the Oxford comma?

Fish and chips?  Yorkshire pudding?

That sounds delicious! I've been told I make an excellent margarita. On the rocks, of course.

Sorry I missed practice - I went out for mojitos, but I brought a note from the bartender.

If your bartender was the hottie Jon from Friday's game, all is forgiven. And please bring him to the next practice.

Today it is very hot and humid. The menu will be a classic Quiche Lorraine and a spinach and mushroom one for those that don’t do meat or bacon. I’ll be putting out a salad bar of sorts. It will have all the ingredients to make a Chicken Cobb salad but if there’s something you don’t eat you can just elect not to add it to yours. French baguettes (with butter or a lemon herb aioli) and crackers will be available. I will offer homemade Blue cheese dressing or a vinaigrette. Desert will be a choice of lemon or tangerine sorbet. I thought a Vodka Collins sounded refreshing to go with the food but anyone can bring what they’d prefer.

Cobb salad choices:

A standard bed of sweet butter lettuce

Chicken, hard boiled eggs and also bacon bits

Sweet cherry tomatoes

Avocado slices

 Cucumbers

Gorgonzola

Red onions finely chopped
