Jacob and Izzy

Well, I am not an etiquette maven but this would be Izzy's first baby and therefore a baby shower (or two) is appropriate because the point of a shower is to gift a new mom with necessaries. Usually some of the bigger ticket baby items come at the shower.

Audrey, being on baby number three, should have the more expensive items and therefore isn't in need of baby things. I personally don't think a lot of people pay attention to this particular rule any more, but it's considered tacky to have a shower for later children unless the later child is significantly younger than the older child... and Bode is still a toddler. Therefore its not technically appropriate to have a shower for Audrey.

I'm pretty sure they will, but technically its in poor taste. Regardless, Izzy isn't required to share her shower.

But it was ok to have how many showers for Amy? 🤔

She certainly didn’t need pots, pans or other household items but the stooges kept showering her in gifts.

How many did she actually have? The one we saw pictures for didn't look excessive.  If there was more than one then yes, tacky, unless it was genuinely thrown by third parties (lets be real, most brides and new moms are well aware that there will be a shower thrown when they happen, despite the technical etiquette that you should never throw your own shower).

Agree on the stupid grandma shower - I hope thats a tradition that dies in the womb.

Looks like all roads lead to Amy, right Joan? ;)

Back to Izzy - isn't the baby due soon?

Audrey has no taste, some said this before and they are right 'jacob looks like he smells bad'

Maybe, due to her state in the photos Izzy isn’t ready for a good bra, but I hope she’ll get there eventually.  Poor support can make you appear to be much heavier than normal and makes your clothes appear ill fitted, imo.  I had a good friend who was very well endowed, but wore bras that were ill fitted with zero support.  When several of us went on a shopping trip, we got her in the fitting room and when she complained about a dress not looking right, we jumped in with how a new bra might make all the difference, had attendant get her fitted, adjusted it properly and she was astounded.  Her clothes looked so much better and she looked 10 pounds lighter in them.  We didn’t want to hurt her feelings, so we’re glad it worked out that way.

It seems Jacob is making his move in getting his hooks into the farm.  Now he is actively working pumpkin season along with his wife and all smiles for the camera….I guess he found out where the money is.  Maybe Matt will move him into the house.

He will have to take a shower, that is against principles so he stays in the van.

Perhaps but if so - hmmm, willing to work isn't actually a bad thing, is it?

He's not willing to work he just wants to be around when the money gets handed out,or matt weasels him on to the show.

If anyone earned a piece of Roloff Farms, it’s Jacob and in the worst possible way; with his innocence.

Agreed. As far as money getting handed out, let's not forget Matt and Amy earned that money by on the show where the producer molested their young son. Boo hoo hoo if Jacob is now an expensive cross for them to bear. Maybe if they'd bothered parenting him, they would have been able to prevent some damage.

They still don't give a shit.

This was a shower for Izzy only? If so, Audrey also wearing a white dress seems tacky.

It seemed tacky to me too. No, it's not a wedding, but the dress somehow struck me as attention seeking, which we all know is Audrey's MO 99% of the time. It's not like she doesn't own anything else that would be appropriate for the event. At least she managed to not stand there cradling her own baby bump for a change. I was pretty certain it was physically impossible for her to stand upright without her hand under her stomach! LOL!

I'm wondering if Izzy let it be known she wasn't raising a child in a van down by the river and said it was time to find a home. I don't know anything about Izzy's family, I just read here that her mom passed away a few years ago, I don't know if she has family in the area or sisters or anyone close. I'd imagine as a first time mom, she'd want to have a decent support structure, even if it's in the form of Roloffs. I don't have kids, but I'm 100% sure every new mom has new mom worries, freak outs, and questions, before and after birth, and needs someone to turn to. I'd choose local help if at all possible too if I were her. I don't know where they are staying, but it does seem to be local to the farm and family.

Well, it's not word salad if it's actually coherent and it is. All new parents tend to wax loquacious on their newborns. Sounds like things didn't go perfectly but unlike say Audrey, at least we're not getting a description of how she's needing to wear a pad since she's still dripping from the birth trauma. No lengthy missives on mastitis either.

If by "not as planned," she's alluding to labor being induced, that's really not a biggie as far as birthing tragedies go.  I wouldn't whine on SM about that, but just me!

I'd say that "not as planned" is hardly "OMG there was a birthing tragedy!!!"

If she's still going on about her difficulty a week or so from now, I'll agree its whining but once? She's a new mom, and this was hardly an excessive rant on how she went thru a terrible ordeal.
