True, but her weight gain was quite visible and she wasn't making sufficient progress on it during camp. It doesn't seem as obvious for Heather and Allie.

Also, was Texie a hired entertainer (like the Easter bunny), was it some poor DCC reject, or a current DCC who was in trouble?

I think Texie is what happens to DCCs on weight warning. "Welp! Ya gained a pound! You know the drill! It's into the Texie sweat suit for a week!"

Hmmm...I'm not sure if one is supposed to tell "who is behind the mask"! Both Rowdy and Texie are (were) worn by a few different people. Her uniform is authentic. If you were able to see Rowdy's uniform, you would notice that his is also an authentic football uniform. Both mascots boots are clunky and oversized to reflect a characterization or animated feeling...make them more doll like.

Yeah right?! Mascot identity is traditionally super protected! I don't even WANT to know!

I do remember Sydney getting accidentally shoulder checked by Rowdy and she got her dander all up, but I was like, HE'S MADE OF FOAM, SYD! FOAM!

This topic about Hannah still gets under my skin. The same year she was cut there were other vets in TC that year with weight warnings and they were offered meal plans etc....but not Hannah. I still think her cut was for reasons we will never know.

The way CMT filmed the weight issues made it seem that they were given a meal plan at the beginning of camp not the end, but it never showed if they offered Hannah the same option.

it's so crazy ... I get Allie because even though she's a great performer, Kelli's face when she was doing uniform fittings was pretty much saying nope nope.  Heather I don't really get ... they LOVED her all throughout TC last year so I'm surprised she got cut.

@ShellyB has DCC identified a role for Jenn K yet?  She's such an amazing ambassador!  I actually think it would be good to think of succession plans for K+J (aren't they 50+ years old?) ... she would be awesome I think.  Why not start her off as an  apprentice for now?

THIS. Kelli is a fucking bomb-ass baller boss lady. Nobody asked Iacocca why he didn't bow out gracefully because he was "no spring chicken".  Kelli's an executive. So is Judy. She and Judy have built reputations for excellence and that's hard to leave behind when you love what you do and people actually respect you for who you are and what you bring to the table. She's well-respected in her workplace and beyond. OH!! HAHA! #BEYOND! See what I did there?!?

Side note: I don't have first hand info on this, but I very much doubt that Shelly runs back to Kelli with a PTV message board report card because, who gives a crap. I'd bet that Kelli does the informing of structural changes within the DCC org, not the other way around. Just a guess.

HA! I'm sure they've all gotten a good chuckle and an eye roll from this place LOL! I know they're aware of the boards and check them out however often they want to, and that may or may not include Shelly telling them what's said here (although I'll be honest, I just don't see why any of those ladies cares to actually bring it up in conversation with each other, but I don't know one way or another). What I meant is that I have my doubts that Shelly runs back to them with hurtful, speculative hogwash that a few anonymous screen names came up with.

Hopefully, though, she does bring up some ideas on what people here want to see on the show!  I would imagine they take into account how people who take the time to discuss MTT feel the show can improve.  I'm sure they realize that if we feel a certain way that we can't be the only ones :)

YES! THAT'S the kind of stuff I would think she could bring back! What super-duper fans like us want to see. I feel like the general sentiment on here is that we have sharp criticisms when we feel it's warranted, but basically, we are obsessed, and just want to see more of the DCC life!

Well, they DID give more episodes this year. I know we're a teeny fraction of ratings numbers but I do think we're the vocal minority, I don't see why they'd toss every suggestion out the window. And we know our shit about DCC. Except I can never remember anyone's name. But other than that.....

I think at that point the v-front shorts were a fairly recent change. You  were the only one who had worn the old shorts. You came in and said (in a wise-guy tone) "I wore the belt. You got a problem with the belt?"

I do not remember the convo about the old uniform, but identify with the sarcasm. I like both uniforms for different reasons. The belt because it's the original, classic and iconic. The v shorts had a little more coverage and a whole lotta bling, which I love! I have actually worn the current style when I filled in as an Old Star...quite a few years ago. They are tiny! ???

I have a suggestion on a good way to free up more space for dancing footage in the first episode. Don't include any little intro/bio clips on the gals who don't make it beyond semis and especially if they don't make the prelim cut.  ( Like the gal from season 4 who had the baby and the husband in Iraq) .

Shelly, I have a question about uniforms, what do they do with a veterans uniform after they retire? Also do the girls get to keep all the rehearsal attire from training camp and during the season?  And how do they keep the white vest and shorts so white throughout with sweating, make up, performing on real grass for non stadium performances etc, etc,?

Generally, once you are fitted for your uniform during your rookie season, it is yours for the duration of your tenure. Parts of the retiring Vets uniforms are placed in the costume closet for backup pieces in case of emergencies. Rehearsal attire is the property of DCC with the exception of the Final Audition attire, which they keep. My personal preference for keeping my uniform white & bright was cleaning it with borax and letting it air dry. It's fairly easy to take care of with "normal" laundering.

I figured they get to keep the finals outfit. I saw a picture of Karissa Lynnae auditioning for the Spurs Silver Dancers (after her TC cut) and she was wearing it.

I hope this question is not considered inappropriate by anyone, but I am extremely curious and can't help but ask.  @ShellyB, what do the girls do during... that time of the month? I avoid light-colored bottoms like the plague during that week, so the though of dancing and shaking all around in tiny white bottoms in front of hundreds of thousands of people seems terrifying. Surely someone in all the history of the uniform has fallen victim to an ill-timed visit from Aunt Flo? How is this prevented?

A lot of women that lean don't have regular cycles, but manipulate birth control to avoid periods. You either skip the placebo pills or get the 4x a year shot. The downside to this that toward the end of the shot cycle (or pills), you can bloat a lot more for few days. I presume most of the DCC do something like this. Pretty common for dancers, gymnasts, performers, etc.

I don't think ANYONE would run the squad better than Kelli, and I don't think her age should matter in any way.   She is not out there performing.
