For those, like me, who don’t have a cable provider that carries CMT, you can download Terrarium TV to your PC or Firestick, and stream most of the seasons free.  Not all seasons have all episodes, but the ones for the last few years are complete.  The current episode is usually available in 12 hours or less.  This takes a little patience, as you will get a list of potential streams and will have to chose.  Also there can be some buffering depending on your internet connection.

So next week is the one I dread.    The first times on the field for jump split scare me, and from the preview for next week, I'm hoping the uneven landings aren't  holding on to other cheerleaders, because that's how they get badly hurt.      I know the jump split is spectacular, but the continued concussion on their entire bodies has to take a toll, if not now, but later in their lives.    I think they should get rid of the jump split, and I bet the number of injuries will go down.

I’ve always wondered why they practice the jump split hooked up. They should maintain proper arm position, but be alone, so they don’t hurt anyone. Plenty of time to rehearse it hooked up when the rookies aren’t so scared.

And I’m not surprised by the way Victoria talked with Kelli in the office visit. All along, Kelli and Judy have remarked how scared the girls are, and now that we get one who isn’t terrified to be in the room, we say she’s rude. I don’t see it. I just see a girl who knows they want her to succeed.

I think they do practice it individually first. There was one season where Kelli/Judy asked who hadn't done it before and they spent some time working on it on their own before doing it linked up in 3s and 4s.

I think she looks like a regular girl off the street who won a contest and got to be a DCC for a day and is having the time of her life.  I’m sorry, but I will never think she looks like a DCC - and now she looks kind of chubby and it makes her look even more like a cute middle school girl.

I personally think that they have both been strong dancers. I've caught glimpses of Lindsay more than Jasmine, but from what I've seen, Lindsay is catching on to the dances and she looks good. Jasmine was mentioned by one of the vets as being powerful.

I do not like the editing of Dayton at all. Others on here have said that all the closeups of her are when she's doing poorly, but in background shots, she is doing much better, and I agree.  I don't really get it. I'm not really seeing the appeal of Kristen so much, but I think she's a good dancer.

Lindsay looks great in all footage I’ve noticed of her so far.

Have we seen any mention of Jasmine or Lindsay struggling in training camp? We know that they are the first 2 cuts, but I don’t recall anything about either girl.

I feel like the editing has been a bit strange so far. Decisions are either coming out of left friend, or the editing isn’t doing a good job of providing scenes that show a coherent story. It was like that with Sarah and Alanna (spelling probably wrong), the 2 Laker girls. Based on the scenes we saw, Sarah clearly seemed to be the stronger candidate, but then Alanna made it to training camp, and she didn’t.  Now, 2 girls are about to get cut, and we haven’t really seen any background to support it. You would think Kristen and Dayton were the next cuts based on the editing. Just interesting.

I agree completely.... if we go solely based on editing, the first three cuts should be Victoria, Dayton, and Kristin.

now that would be an excellent question to ask the alumni parade - "how has your lower extremities and back fared over the years"?  I mean the DCC hits the ground, turf, floor, or stage hard. Do any other teams do the move? Is it taught in dance studio or college? If the answer is no, rarely, on-occasion - that that is something to take note right there.

Once of the nice part of the beginning of football season is when the announcers go over all of the new penalties. Look how far we have come with the targeting rule - esp. at the college level. It does stand to reason that the DCC needs to look at how to make sure the jump split is as safe as possible, If a DCC is on show group - just how many times in a week is she doing the jump split ? Are the performances spaced enough to allow the body to recover?

Actually that would make a nice segment in a episode - have an MD and the speciality this falls under explain how to do the move safe, how to prevent injury, etc.

There’s a channel on YouTube, Dr. Gregory Johnson, who is a chiropractor in Houston. He gives, what he calls, “Ring Dingers.” He basically pulls your spine from the neck and you feel to the base of your spine. I think almost all the girls could benefit from a treatment or two. Those jump splits cannot be good for the spine

that reminds of what Amy T. said when she did her first jump slip.  Something like, she felt a shooting pain in the spine?

which leads to another question  - are the dancers required to carry full medical insurance - one that will allow specialists, physical therapy, etc ? Or must everything be done at the Cowboy facility - and their Drs/staff ?

Honestly, I have no medical or dance background, but I bet the jump split really impacts the entire spine, especially the lower back, the hips, and I wonder if some of the hamstring and other problems some have had over the years were because of the super high kicks, and the jump split.        Some of the recent alumni could say what the jump splits did to them, but I don't think they did them pre-Kelli as a coach.    I'm not sure when they started jump splits, but I know Kelli and Judy never did them as DCC.

The other teams that wear boots with higher, more square heels should never do the jump split, because I can only imagine what happens when a heel catches on the turf.

I believe Misty D's knee injury was from doing the jump splits repeatedly over the summer at Six Flags.  Melissa R said that if done improperly, the jump split can pull the knees from their sockets.

Season 4 - Meredith and Kristin G had a workshop and the jump split was explained.  I think it's cause they were both Kilgore Rangerettes and were taught proper form and technique.  Emma was also a Rangerette and she can do jump splits still after how many years as a DCC.

I think it's interesting that you say this. I consider all reality TV mindless entertainment. Not sure what that says about me as I have watched the show since the beginning and I've always enjoyed it.  It's not really educational and I don't think I'm bettering myself by watching it. I just enjoy it because it's a nice break from the work that I do and the pressures of every day life.  I do become really interested in the girls and their story lines and I like rooting for some of the underdogs. So in that way I don't think it's a whole lot different from watching a favorite sports team.  I don't think the girls on the team care if I am watching the show or care what my opinion is about them.

I have been watching for many many years, and it is the only "reality" show i watch. I get very invested in the girls each season. I have my favorites, and of course the girls i really don't like, and unfortunately the ones I hope get cut, and I think if there is no explanation of Tara's cut, I will be really disgusted with this show. I would have to think long and hard about watching next season, if there is one. They way Erica left, and then Milan, and now Tara, and all the Holly/Jenna drama, and now all the VK favoritism, I really want Kelli and Judy to show me that they are not "abusing" these women for the sake of ratings!!! That they really do want these women to learn, and grow, and thrive, and that they are important.

Cool article about Lacey.  I really like the fact that she's going for a degree in nutrition.  I wonder if what she saw in the locker room as a DCC combined with her years as a dancer impacted that degree (and career) choice.  Wasn't she also supposed to be on hand when Victoria went to nutritionist?  I wonder if Lacey was trying to help Victoria with her weight before Kelli and Judy suggested the nutritionist.

I agree with all of this. This isn't a behind-the-scenes documentary for educational purposes. Though we have learned a lot about the organization and the cheerleaders, and that was partly why the organization was on board to do this show to begin with, it's still a sensationalized spin on real life for views to raise the profile of the team and make money for the Cowboys. And not necessarily in that order.

I have a different perspective. I think the team is interesting. The process of choosing and training the women is interesting. I like getting to know about the girls, and there are certain ones I develop an affinity for, for one reason or another. But I am aware at all times that I don't really know much about these people or the company they work for, and that the show is crafted to manipulate emotions and engender an attachment to the cast.  I don't get invested. I don't gush. When a cheerleader retires, it doesn't upset me. My attitude is "It was great seeing you make the team and watching you develop over that time. Best of luck in the future with your husband/career/education/whatever." I check in now again to see what some of them are doing post retirement. But I don't know these people and I don't really *care* about them. I don't get verklempt when someone retires, or gets engaged or has a baby. I can't really relate to how other fans get so into the various storylines.  I'm not saying there's anything wrong with being passionate about it, I know that's why most people are here. It's just interesting to observe, as someone who doesn't relate to the show in that way.

For what it's worth, I think they've shown us over all of these years that they do invest a lot of time, effort, and attention into these women. They care very much about crafting this team. But when it comes down to it, this is a business. Failing to hire someone for (seemingly) specious reasons (Tara), or girls quitting because of favoritism (Milan), or girls being released/quitting because they've been on the team for several years and decide the rules don't apply...none of that rises to the level of "abuse" for me. That kind of thing happens in every workplace everywhere. In Tara's case, some explanation would be good, but we aren't owed transparency or full disclosure, particularly if the reason for the cut is sensitive/personal.

For sure, there's a lot going on there, and it could very well be a completely toxic, kool-aidy environment, but heck if we'll ever know the truth.

I hope they cut Kristin first.    That's not because I dislike her, but she seems to close to collapse, and so out of it that I'm afraid she'll fall asleep on the road, and have an accident.

Kristin has heavy-lidded eyes. That's just how some people look. If Kelli decides she doesn't like it, then cut the girl and keep it moving. I hope they didn't spend weeks harping on her to open her eyes wider. That's not how it works. It's like telling someone with dimples to try not to be so dimple-y when she smiles.

There is no way that's Kelli's personal office. That's got to be a conference room. It could be that it's inside of the office suite area, which is why they still refer to it as the office. Or it could be because "these are the people I need to see in my conference room" doesn't have the same ominous ring to it.

It was Jinelle who was supposedly helping.

Now that you mention it, this would be a terrible office. There are pictures of Sam and Ryan in the back though where the square cubbies are.   I'm pretty sure they used to have the meetings in Kelli's actual office with the exception of the last few seasons

They have never offered the 2 hour special nor Season 1. Season 2 may still be on there though.

And can I say that since there is more room where Kelli and Judy meet with the girls, why is Judy still on a stool? Why can’t they have her in a chair next to Kelli?

Wow - so the first two cuts are girls who seem to be looking good on the show.  Jasmine seems to have great power and hasn’t been called out at all, and Lindsay looks like a complete rock star - but they are cut before Kristin and Dayton?   It’s got to be something not related to performance or appearance for both of them, don’t you think??

This is a really random "celebrity" friendship. Is there a connection between the two that I am missing? Also kind of ironic since folks on this board were noticing that Caroline resembles Savannah G.

Also, I should move this to the small talk (or owners) board, but I am very excited to read the new behind the scenes NFL book by Mark Leibovich cause there is apparently a ton of tea spilled on Mr. Jerry Jones.

I think this is a conference room. Prior to the star, they met in Kelli’s actual office, so it’s still called “the office,” but she has a real office on the other side of that room.
