tennisgurl July 23, 2018 Share July 23, 2018 I hope the show can pop back up next summer, its fun for a light summer show. Enjoyed the case of the week, it was pretty interesting, and the twists and turns were entertaining. Although, I knew it was the brother as soon as we saw him at the funeral. When he started talking how he would take care of his brothers family, I was like "there we go, we got us a motive!" and I was totally right. Ah well, it was a fun ride. I still love the lady cop who is Eddies friend with benefits. She has a lot going on, I kind of want to see what she is up to more often. 2 Link to comment

My fantasy pilot would have had you finding out they were married at the end of the pilot, like finding out that the Furillo and Davenport were a couple in Hill Street Blues. It would have eliminated the “Will they or won’t they” that shows seem to think that viewers like, but I find tiresome. I actually thought that Castle got the balance right (at least up until the failed wedding) in the sense that they didn't insist on too much sexual tension at the expense of getting to know each other. Maybe I am viewing it through rose-coloured glasses and forgetting all the times they were forced into tight spaces to whisper lewd double entendres, but although I hated the finale I was very well-pleased with middle Castle. Otherwise I don't dislike the idea of starting with an established couple. Or for Take Two if they hadn't made cop girlfriend relinquish any claim so easily -- she and Eddie could stay together and Sam could see other people and we could still have an interesting dynamic of law enforcement people not knowing what to expect from her. 1 Link to comment
Jacks-Son July 24, 2018 Share July 24, 2018 (edited) @shapeshifter & @tennisgurl: To further expound on the stereotypes of Cozy mysteries, I've discovered a series, although, I have yet to actually see one of the movies of this series and have no clue WHERE to actually see one of these movies except to pay for it on iTunes. The series is called Aurora Teagarden Mysteries, and actually has a LOT of actors who I've seen in other shows and liked, predominantly Canadian. If you've wondered where your actor has gotten up to lately you may find them in this series. Here is where the stereotype comes in as the description of the series is very plain and direct: ABOUT AURORA TEAGARDEN MYSTERIES: THE DISAPPEARING GAME Crime-solving librarian Aurora Teagarden (Cameron Bure) leaps headfirst into Lawrenceton’s latest murder investigation when her nephew Phillip (Dylan Sloane) and his college roommate go missing after the roommate’s girlfriend is found dead. Enlisting the help of her Real Murders pals, and the handsome college professor Nick Miller (Niall Matter) who just moved in across the street from her, Roe uncovers a kidnapping plot gone awry. Starring Candace Cameron Bure and Marilu Henner, Lexa Doig, I think even Teryl Rothery is in this one. Though a small town at heart, Lawrenceton, Georgia, has its dark side-and crime buffs. One of whom is librarian Aurora "Roe" Teagarden, a member of the Real Murders Club, which meets once a month to analyze famous cases. It's a harmless pastime-until the night she finds a member killed in a manner that eerily resembles the crime the club was about to discuss. And as other brutal "copycat" killings follow, Roe will have to uncover the person behind the terrifying game, one that casts all the members of Real Murders, herself included, as prime suspects-or potential victims. The cancellation of "Forever" after only 1 season was the most disappointing to me as I really enjoyed that one. Thomas Crown, I too, enjoyed both these shows and was upset at losing them after only a single season. "Forever" had just revealed the big secret to Alana De La Garza's character, Jo Matinez, that Henry Morgan couldn't die. This introduces syfy/fantasy into the genre and continued the prestigious path set out in "Forever Knight", "Blood Ties", "Dresden", & "Moonlight". Suddenly, these rather tame series, took a darker turn. 1 Link to comment
statsgirl July 26, 2018 Share July 26, 2018 I also like Christine, the lady cop. She's smart, accepting and a much better match for Eddie than Sam. Sometimes the character that sneaks up on you is a much better relationship than the one who is written in the pilot. I'm disappointed that the villain was the Best Known Guest Actor. Castle has a way of avoiding that trope but this show seems to have fallen into that pit. On 7/20/2018 at 4:26 AM, TWP said: I'm not sure why Niall Matter is considered such a big deal. Jacks-Son July 27, 2018 Share July 27, 2018 I enjoyed this one a helluva lot. The case was interesting and twisted. There were a whole lot of double dealings and secret agendas that were surprisingly unforeseen, at least for me. The bar scene with the career criminal who was a “Hot Pursuit” fan and had a tat of Sam was kind of lame and silly but it gave her a win, so it was all good. I must admit, I must have re-watched the puppet scene about 5 times, it was hilarious and well-acted. Rachel Bilson voicing the the puppet and teasing Eddie got a good chuckle out of me. I never figured Monica to have low-self-esteem issues, she always seems so super-confident. She claimed she has trouble figuring people out, I would think it’s just the opposite, so I don’t buy that attempt to sort of humanize her. I’ve never noticed it before, but when did Rachel Bilson get credit for Producer of the show, not even EP, which is a title given to stars of a show to attract networks? Is she actually helping finance the show? 2 Link to comment
dubbel zout July 27, 2018 Share July 27, 2018 The producer title in TV isn't a money position, it's a writer/creative one. In this case it probably means Bilson sits in on story meetings and gives some input on what she wants for her character. Link to comment

Their secret was revealed when Pete asked her to marry him and she couldn't because she loved O'Neill. Eddie Cibrian graduated from High School when Rachel Bilson was born. Been there, done that, it wasn't pretty. Tastes in music can lead to ugly revelations. Admittedly, Sam and Eddie are an unlikely pair, but I still like their chemistry despite her maturity level on the show. I think that's intentionally done, to make the pairing seem so impossible. I was trying to figure out why Rachel Bilson looked so familiar, then last night while watching the ep I figured it out. Rachel could pass for an Osmond. I still love this show. I liked this episode, and I liked the ending where they decided that there was some things that was better not to know. Surprisingly in an episode in which they are teasing Eddie and Sam having slept together, it was the least forcing them together. It's interesting to see Jewel Staite all grown up from Space Cases and Da vinci's Inquest. The being naked and wet in the Uber (or whatever) was explained. What was not explained was her laying her head on his shoulder in the cab, nor their kiss in the bar, nor the drink in her hand, Did Agent Kaylee use hypnotic suggestion on them, to confuse the situation? If so, she's good. Even bringing in Trevor to see if they remembered. In case, she wants to work with them again (Despite how nice a return Kaylee appearance would be, why would they want to work with her again, after what she did to them). So, we assume, Sam and Eddie, got undressed and in bed and snuggled of their own volition? I can work with that, as witnessed by his facial caress in the decontamination shower. That was the film Monica couldn't stop watching. I assume that since they were drugged, they just fell into bed to sleep as soon as they got to his place. Or maybe they didn't. 3 hours ago, Jacks-Son said: Did I miss an episode, when did Christine tell Eddie that she didn't want to see him anymore because he was falling for Sam? The subsequent phone call was made because he trusted her with the safety of the vial. (Which I don't see the agency ever letting out of their sight) Also, Sam seemed familiar with Eddie's surprisingly rather large apt. by running into some room to get a shirt. I wonder how she knew she would find a shirt in that room (bedroom?), was she in his place before? Was that his bedroom? I thought they woke up in his bedroom. At the end of the last (?) episode Christine said something about him falling for Sam. In this episode, he arranged with her to go for drinks and stood her up because by that time he was drugged. I don't see why Sam had to run into another room to find a shirt since presumably Eddie's bed is in his bedroom but the choreography of them moving around was pretty and I assume that's why it was done. Just as the picture of them kissing at the bar was done to show the drink in her hand (who keeps holding a drink while they're seriously kissing?) so that she would worry that she had relapsed. It's not good to look too closely at some things on this show. Link to comment

I may have over interpreted Christine's feelings when this exchange occurred in episode 4 "Ex's and Oh's". Christine: When do I get the computer with all the evidence on it?Eddie: You know, why don't I personally deliver it to your apartment later? To ensure the proper chain of custody?(Christine doesn't seem to be too interested in Eddie's advances). Eddie: That's a long pause. Christine: Eddie, I know what was on that laptop. Who you were trying to protect. Why you go to the lengths you do. This thing we have works because we care about each other and we've always been honest.Eddie: Mm. It'll stay that way.Christine: How can you be honest with me, when you're not even being honest with yourself?Eddie: About what?Christine: You are so good at getting the big picture, except when you're in it. I was watching you with Sam today. She brings out something in you, a lightness I haven't seen in a long time.Eddie: Chris, there's nothing going on between Sam and me.Christine: Maybe there should be. All I'm saying is, don't rule it out. Hmm?(Not sure if Eddie and Christine have hooked up after that scene). Ooookaay, they both got out of an Uber wet and naked and went to Eddie’s apartment and used his what? (Smile - no pants, no car keys, yet car was parked at his house?) to open a locked door or keyless entry while severely impaired and crawled into bed. This was all caught on a removal dash cam for Monica’s pleasure? With Berto asking her to stop replaying the film and NOT sitting there with her eating popcorn. And you think I shouldn’t look too closely at that? Me thinks FBI Kaylee had a lot more fun than she was letting on. I vaguely remember Christine suggesting that perhaps Eddie should revise his opinion and feelings for Sam and to stop making dates with her and not keeping them. That’s not the same as I don’t want to see you anymore because you’re falling for Sam. Even Eddie doesn’t know how he feels about Sam. Conclusion, fun episode, huge fanwank. Link to comment

Do you think a PI like Eddie would rely on keys? ;-). Besides, he can pick ANY lock, so there's that. Maybe I'm remembering things wrong, but I think they might have addressed all of your concerns with a basic "how the hell did that happen" hand wave. But I'm not sure. The second that you try and make some sense of this show, it falls to pieces. It's not for thinking, it's for sitting back and laughing. ;-). I wasn't as impressed with this episode. When they try and get this duo together, I cringe. I'm pretty sure the robot in the original Lost in Space seies had more chemistry with Will Robinson. This couple is even more robotic. And what would their couple name be? Saddie? ha-ha. See? Nothing about them as a couple works ;-). I'm rooting for each of them with somebody else. Where's Gina and Dr. Motorcycle Boy when you need them (Castle reference for those who don't know). Edited August 3, 2018 by TWP 1 Link to comment

Yeah I didn’t think she meant hey were going to stop being friends but maybe take a break on being friends with benefits. Link to comment
