I realize that you are trying to be cute and snarky, but its not 1970 anymore.  The don't use "gauze" on burn victims.  Face masks are usually clear, but now they are using silicon.

I honestly do not like this storyline tactic. Philip Kiriakis had the "gauze" burn-face-transplant when they wanted us to believe Kyle Brandt was an actor and not a Reality Tool.  Philip reverted to his old looks for a brief stint, and now looks sun-baked.  There isnt any need to explain Abigail's new face.....She's had a half dozen already....in addition to two names:  Abby and Abigail.

They did the plastic surgery line on OLTL when they replaced the actor who played Max, and then they brought back the original actor and never mentioned it again.

You ever watched the movie "A Woman's Face"  with Joan Crawford?   Of course KM is no JC in her acting delivery but I think thats what the writers will be going for with her "new face" aka recast move.   Something what has been done several times on Days,  YR with Adam and GH with Jason.

Seriously, that is interesting about the new innovations for treatment of burn victims.  Silicon makes a lot more sense than gauze because I would think gauze would stick to the wounds and be painful to remove.  

I'm wondering how they're going to explain the change of Abby's eye color, unless they have the new actress wear brown contacts.

I think Ashley Benson's eye color is blue and nothing was mentioned when KM was hired. Why should it be mentioned if her eye color goes back to blue.

In all seriousness, though, sometimes recasting means the character goes through some altering event, such as a catastrophic burn followed by surgery, as Abigail is here, and sometimes the change in the character's looks isn't acknowledged in any way -- as the change from Ashley Benson to Kate Mansi was not, or the change from Charlotte Ross to Kassie DePaiva, or the change from Chandler Massey to Guy Wilson. 

My favourite is where reconstructive plastic surgery adds 20 pounds of muscle and a couple of inches in height. That's some Dark Roast level of doctoring brilliance!

I feel badly for Kate and Sonny having to even bother trying to muster up their rage. We all know Lucas and Adrienne will go back to being invisible after the ceremony. So who cares? Let them get married. I cared more about Jordan/Chad than I do about them.

And don't count on Austin, Billie of any of Lucas' kids to attend either.

The amount of screen time he's gotten probably wouldn't even fill three episodes. And this pairing with Adrienne is a joke. I actually thought they had broken up at some point. The only reason this is still a thing that's happening is because the writers haven't gotten around to giving Adrienne and Justin a quickie reunion.

We all know that Justin and Adrienne will get back together no matter what..It irritates me that the show refuses to give Lucas a real storyline filled with love, adventure and fulfillment...He deserves it...Bryan is such a fan favorite and a decent actor, why can't Ken Corday take advantage of that...

I think I like Freddie Smith's prettiness (and Christopher Sean's) way more than anything concerning their characters, lol.  I couldn't care less about the backstory, I'm just marking time with this stupid show until FS returns.  And that's coming from a 40-plus-year viewer.  I can't even with the Teen Scene Players or Deimos or freaking stupid Aiden or the Hernandez folks other than Gabi and Rafe, though A Martinez is okay. Dario's another one that every time he is on I have to take a few seconds and remember who he is.  Blech.
