Even though it was completely cheesy, I freaking ate up that Chad Brannon came back for a scene for Rebecca's exit.

 

CB was definitely a sight for sore eyes. Man, he looked good. He had, what, four lines? And he still out-acted NL. Hee. God, she was so awful.

I was convinced they were going to eventually use the Rebecca storyline to walk back Emily's horrible death. They would say Helena brainwashed her and planted her or something.

 

Frankly I'd still accept that. Not because I am dying for the return of Natalia Livingston, but because it doesn't matter who plays her - killing Emily was a terrible mistake.

Yeah, killing Emily was so, so stupid. Her connections with pretty much everyone on the canvas (specifically Lucky, Liz, Nik, Jason, Monica) was important and irreplaceable.

Scott set Taggert up as a dirty cop, so he was forced off the PCPD.  I think he ended up in the Northwest somewhere.

At least Taggert wasn't killed in a mob shootout. I kind of hated to see him go—Real Andrews is HOT—but the character became so one-note about Anger Boy and Deke-wasn't-a-monster. Christ. Ron isn't the only HW who beat an idea into the ground.

 

I think RA's best work was when Taggert was investigating Liz's rape. The scenes he had with BH were fantastic. We'll never get that kind of writing again.

Show made a big point of saying that when she got pregnant, Olivia pretended to have slept around so she didn't have to reveal that Sonny was her baby's father, but in reality Sonny was the only guy she had been with.  But who knows what Retcon Ron could come up with?

 

I always laugh when I think of when Megan Ward's Kate first encountered Dante and immediately knew he was Sonny's son because "he had Sonny's eyes."  I think that was even reiterated more than once.

That moment/conversation reminded me of something they might do on a CW teen-centric show. The girl tells the boy she never went to prom and he surprises her by recreating the prom in his living room. I seriously expect Patrick to do this.

 

Maxie and Zander had one of those in her bedroom. I missed and couldn't tape it, but I heard it was quite awesome.

In a nutshell, it was to finally put an end to the Cassadine/Spencer feud and re-align L&L.  The original story was sold to ABC by Tony Geary and his writing partner Irene Suver.  Sadly, when JFP & McTavish got a hold of it, by the time it was over it looked nothing like TG & IS's original story.

 

McTavish, for reasons only known to her, resurrected Stavros from the deep freeze they'd apparently put him in after he broke his neck and died in 1983.  Helena blackmailed Tony Jones into resurrecting Stavros by poisoning Lucas. She'd built a complete state of the art lab under GH. She brainwashed Lucky to reject his parents and kill Luke, she used the Ice Princess as the object to put him under.   Stavros lurked everywhere.  Helena was going around threatening everyone.  It turned into uber camp.  

 

With regard to 9/11, Helena was supposed to release a toxin in PC, but after 9/11 happened there was a quick, poorly done rewrite that ABC insisted upon.

 

The real kicker was the original story was supposed to bring back Robert, but instead we got Stavros.

 

As Tony said in an interview, "The storyline is the sole creation of the current writing staff, and bears no resemblance whatsoever to 'Endgame'".

No, Sonny was still a low level strip club owners in those days.  It was during the time that he was feeding Karen drugs and she was stripping in his club.  Marco Dane (sigh) owned the gym.  Sonny did put a hit out on Jagger after the beating, but Marco worked it out so Sonny would get some percentage of Jagger's boxing winnings if he wouldn't take him out.

OMG! I was a fan of the show Las Vegas, and I spent a fair amount of time trying to figure out why  Mary seemed familiar to me. She'd already altered some parts of her anatomy enough, I guess, to distract me from really seeing her face. Kinda sad, actually.

I blame several, including Claire Labine & Wendy Riche, who were respectively HW and EP as Sonny's ascension began and then Robert Guza, Jr and Jill Farren Phelps, who went absolutely OTT with Sonny.

How did Sonny become a lead? Who decided he should go from low-level thug to romantic leading man? Was it because MB and VM had such blazing chemistry? I wasn't watching much during this time, so I missed Sonny's evolution.
