It's been a pretty exciting season of AGT. I must admit that I'm going to miss Tuesday nights acts.

Agreed! I'll miss seeing all these talented, original people, even the ones I didn't like.  I am glad I discovered Darci Lynne, Sara & Dogs, Diavolog and Bello Knock, acts who apparently have had success but weren't household names yet, and acts like Greater Good, Preacher Lawson, Tim London and Just Jerk who were thrilling or just plain fun to watch.

Won't miss that brat Angelica, boring/weird Chase (how do you manage to be both?) and the rest of the nameless sob-story singers.

Kelly Clarkson is a really amazing singer.

Shows been very enjoyable with the cast of stars joining the AGT contestants. Shania still looks amazing. Jeff Dunham and Terry Fedor were wonderful. Tyra very well dressed for the big night. I still have Darci winning by a large margin.

Maybe it is my ear, but this season, singers sounded flat and tonight is no exception. And if not flat, then singing so softly, they can't be heard.

I hope Darci or Light Balance wins because there are enough other singing shows that I want other types of acts to win.

I will die of shock if anyone other than Darci wins.

Tyra with the buzees singing "Nothing is gonna stop us now" , is still my favorite segment of the night lol

I can see why singers choose AGT over the Voice though, Simon actually makes some of them stars, the voice does not.

Dammit! Angelica just gets me! She really looked scared. So sweet of her to run to hug Kechi, and for Kechi to comfort her when she collapsed. She really is just a little girl. I love Darci and think she is fabulously talented, but Angelica has a spot in my heart. Darci hugged Angelica, too!

I'm cool with the final five, and I'd be fine with Darci winning.

I'm gonna stop watching this show if Darci doesn't beat Angelica Hale. She's no better then that Celine Tam. Light balance is amazing and we're the one act I thought might give Darci a challenge.

That was sweet that Simon ran up to Angelica after Darci was declared the winner.  Congrats Darci.

i have to give it to Tyra.  She really grew on me as host.  She has a great rapport and seems very sincere especially with the kids.

Both girls were so sweet running up to all the ousted contestants.

I was a little disheartened to see two little girls in the final. I makes me wonder what this show it turning into.  However I'm very happy with the winner. I think she deserved it. I'm fine with a child winning as long as she's talented and deserving. Unfortunately, that is not always the case. I'm not sure what happened last year with all the Grace pimping.

If I had to pick one or the other, I would have preferred to see Celine in the final over Angelica.

Preacher walked up during the elimination knowing he was toast. However, I think he probably would have figured he was toast if he was up against any of the other acts.

I will admit to my ignorance....who the heck was that with Evie Clair? I won't say it was singing because they both sounded awful or was that my tin ear?

I love seeing Kelly there. She sounded good and I think she has lost weight or else she is dressing better! She looked good.

So glad Darci won...wish the Light guys were second tho'.

I've had no teens in years(and years, and years.......) but I do keep up with pop music and lucky for me, I missed this guy. I'm not sure who was worse, Evie or him...he sounded better when singing with Chase but like I said, I have a tin ear.

Thanks for the info, ProAc!

I don't understand what Shania is wearing. Or anything happening onstage around her.

It looked a gold muumuu.

Many congrats to Darci, but I felt bad for Angelica.  She's still a little girl who lost on live TV, and she basically broke down in tears.  When Darci's brother nearly pushed Angelica aside to get to his sister, (kid was excited, I couldn't blame him, really) I just wanted someone to give Angelica a hug already.

Good God from Zion, this IS A KITTIE talent show. Yeah, the winner is going to have a big Vegas career, give me a break, but on the other hand she will hopefully have enough money to go to college in 6 or 7 years.  Those kids are just too young to take that sort of pressure, they need to stop this foolishness.

The 2 girls are very talented but a Las Vegas show? Light Balance or Diavolo would have been my choice.

As Heidi kept insisting...Light Balance (and Diavolo also) are deserving of a full time Vegas show, and there are many hotels and casinos and theaters who will be ready and willing to book them.

As for those little girls...remember, the PRIZE for AGT  is to "headline" the show that TPTB assembles from the most popular acts from this season and that "Vegas show" will be for two nights only at the Hard Rock Cafe.  The top 10 or 12 acts from this season will all be featured, and some of the other popular acts might also be included.  The winner is not the only performer, but just the act that gets top billing.  Once that two night special show has ended, there is no more Vegas prize.  Everyone is on their own after those two shows.

I completely agree, atlantaloves. While I think that Darci was a deserving winner, she is definitely an exception to my "kids shouldn't even be in this" rule. Why isn't there a separate show for just kids? Spanish-language TV has a separate "The Voice' just for kids and another kids-only talent show.

Also, it's a cliche' that kids grow up too fast, but I think that's nowhere more true than in terms of a showbiz career. It's a horrible career to want to push your 9, 10 or even 12 year old child into. Let them enjoy a normal childhood before subjecting them to that. Their talent won't go away because you let them mature for a few years, if anything it will deepen with maturity.

To the show itself, bits I loved and didn't --

I think Tyra Banks is a great host for the show, she's gorgeous and has an amazing ease with the performers, and I LOVED the skit with the AGT rejects. Hello Dancing Pumpkin Man, and Carlo the singing taxi driver!!!

Shania Twain looked and sounded weird, and what were the dancers in shorts about? I hated her dress, but I covet her sparkly boots.

Loved the dog-training bit with Sara and the judge's dogs, and the comedy bit with Howie, Kevin Nealon and Preacher.

HATED the stuff with Chase, Evie and James Arthur. The No-Talent Trio.

I think the right person won, but I wouldn't have been upset with Sara and Hero or one of the dance acts.

I enjoyed Sara training the judges dog and Howie's bulldog peeing all over things is exactly what I would expect from my own dogs, not what I want, just what I expect.

I liked Tyra's gown, it was a little more appropriate for a family show than most of what she wore, but I still don't like her as host. Most of the season, after I looked at what she was wearing, I just played a game on the computer while she was on. Actually, that's not really true, I play games or read most of the time while I watch tv.

It may have marketed itself that way, but I wouldn't take a child there. I used to go to Vegas a lot and there's really nothing for children to do there. The whole vibe is extremely adult-oriented.

Las Vegas did try to market itself as a family-friendly venue, but it pretty much failed.  This was long ago.  It really is no place for kids.

At least Sara & Hero made it to the top five.  They are winners just for that.  Sara looked very nice in her dress this evening.  She exited gracefully and realized the truth:  making it that far and in the top five was really all anyone could ask.  I Heart Sara, Hero & All The Super Collies!

I'm so happy Darci won.  I was getting really worried when it was her and Angelica left.  My logical side told me with Darci's popularity, she must be the winner, but my cynical side thought may be the universe is out of order.  Darci will have a nice life financially with the annuity over 40 years.  I wish her the best!

Preacher knew he was toast when he was paired with Darci for the take-out round (if that's what you call it).  You could tell he knew.  I didn't appreciate all his performances but I wish him the best too.  Maybe he'll get a part in TV or movies.

Preacher probably would have probably been pretty confident versus Kechi. I'm fairly sure he was 6th place. Nobody that was a save made the top 5. All top 5 were never in the save area in any of the rounds.

Fantastic winner, but I really hope no more preteen female winner next season lol

The show seems to go in phases. For a while it was all singers winning, then we had some variety acts such as dogs, kenichi, magic, ventroqulist, now its kids. I do agree though hopefully the kid thing doesn't last as long as the singer phase from season 3-6.

They really need to let off the whole vegas show thing a million times. They pimp it out like they are going to get a vegas career out of this. Not just one show which they are only a small part of.

Darci held her own with Jeff Dunham and Terry Fator, and both of those ventriloquists are established acts making millions.  In 7 to 10 years, unless she burns out and abandons show business, her talent should become even more polished, and it is apparent that she will mature into a stunningly beautiful woman.  A gorgeous woman with her talents for singing through her puppets and her comedic timing should be a lock for a multi-million dollar career.

Ameriker REALLY got it right.  No breathless and/or overwrought non-child singers in Top 3!  Take a note, SYCO and TPTB.

Light Balance went for a jidges save a few weeks ago to a Top 3.  Amazing what a pimp spot can do.  They most certainly deserved to be up there, which is cool.

I thought the performances tonight were all basically meh.  The one piece I did like was the dog training.

Simon isn't going to change a bloody thing he does not have to for next season.  Great, not good, ratings and a consensus winner.  I know I'll be watching.  Well, if I am sentient, I will.  ;)

I Heart Sara, Hero & All The Super Collies!

Me too!!! You can really get a feel for how awe-inspiring Sara's training is by watching some of those pre-AGT clips on her Super Collies channel. I showed a friend of mine the clip that shows Hero going grocery shopping and we both agreed that if she had done that on AGT, she might have been in the number 2 spot! (Nobody was going to beat Darci). It's here

People who don't like/appreciate Sara and her dogs might not realize just how difficult dog training is, and how amazing it is that Sara has done it all with only positive reinforcement, allowing her dogs to be natural dogs. As an example, she said in one interview that it takes Hero about 4-5 months to learn a new trick, which is considered incredibly fast in dog-training world, some dogs take up to a  year to learn a trick well enough to perform it in public (border collies are the super geniuses of the dog world, but Hero is obviously a superstar even among his breed).

That said, she's already gotten sponsorships and such, so I'm sure this exposure will lead to more great things for them.

Agree with the poster above who said that Darci Lynne totally held her own with Dunham and Fator. Yes, she will grow up to be beautiful, and it's clear she has a levelheaded, grounded family to support her. All of this bodes well for her future as a headlining, famous act. She deserves it.

I didn't like Angelica, but I have to say she touched my heart in this episode. She was so alone, where was her family?! Also, I was a "huggy" little girl like her when I was her age, so her running around giving and needing hugs made me a little teary-eyed. I saw a segment where Sara had Hero hug somebody and I  hope Angelica got a hug from Hero too.

There's no way Darci would lose that. I knew from the moment she got the golden buzzer she is the season's winner. Preacher was hilarious when he was paired to Darci lol oh c'mon!!! ?

Honestly the only time I found Preacher funny this season?

The closest large city to me is Las Vegas, it is less then 2 hours away. I would much rather drive 325 miles to Salt Lake City to do school shopping, medical care, or just about anything with my kids. Even regular Vegas, like suburban areas are not family friendly,  forget about ANY hospital(I went to the "best" hospital for an MRI and someone walked in and shot a patient ). There is nothing much for kids to do in Vegas and the summers are so hot, and those casinos are not as close as you think. Try walking in 110 degree heat for a mile to get from the free flower exhibit at the Belligo across to take a picture at the Effil tower at the Paris for $20 , not cheap, not fun.

I have been to the AGT show in Vegas, and while the show was family friendly, you have to walk through the smoke filled casino, park in the large garage that reeked like beer certainly not for kids. Same with Terry Factor , my mom has been 3 times, I refuse to take her back again. It is such a long walk in the heat from parking and I hate the smoke. There are some AGT contestants off strip, grandma lee and mike Grimm, they were at the red rock in summerlin(very suburan LV), no smoke , and $5 , of course grandma lee isn't for kids and Grimm was so dull my husband took the kids bowling instead.

Darci is a cute little girl but she's going to look exactly like her mom. That means not like a Heidi Klum or a Tyra Banks but more like a regular woman. Darci is extremely talented though and a totally deserving winner.

I'm also in the camp that thinks these preteen contestants shouldn't be on the show at all. Obviously they must drive the ratings or they wouldn't be involved. I'm fairly certain American Idol had an age limit so no children were allowed to compete. Angelica looked completely devastated which makes perfect sense at her maturity level. I blame her parents for that though not AGT.

Someone mentioned a show for kids and I love that idea too. I think the problem there is the demographics that would watch only kids aren't TV watchers any longer. My kids watch YouTube and Netflix and pretty much anything that isn't network TV.

While Darci certainly deserved the win, I agree with everyone else that there should be a 'minimum Age 15" or so on the show. (if not a minimum of age 16 or 18). I fast forwarded through a hell of a lot of acts this year; namely pretty much all of the Singers and most of the Kinds acts ( I had to go back and catch Darci's act after the fact), and ESPECIALLY the Kid singer eps.

Frankly, I'm done with Kid reality TV. Whether it's Junior Masterchef, Chopped Junior or American Kids Got Talent, I don't want to see ankle biters on my TV doing adult stuff and being "Hollywood cute" while doing it.

With Darci, she clearly has a lot of talent. But I'm worried now that she has 'peaked' too soon. While very mature for her age, she seems way too young to be spinning the fame from winning AGT into a career. She still has a good 5-10 years of growing up to do, by which time her time on AGT will just be a Trivia question. Terry Fator on the other hand, he was pretty much in the sweet spot to take his win and jump with it into a solid Vegas performance career.

That all said, you could pretty much tell she was getting the Winners edit by having BOTH Jeff and Terry show up as her 'coaches'/support. Having Terry show up was pretty much a given; I don't think there's been an AGT finale he hasn't missed in the last 5 years. :P Jeff was a nice surprise, and loved Walter's talk at the end. Too bad that section was prerecorded, and scheduling issues probably kept the ultimate teamup from happening. It would've been incredible to see Darci, Terry and Jeff all up on stage and performing together at once. :)

AGT had 2 pre-teen girls as finalists who last night alone had to go through 2 rounds of "am I going to make it?" before the final announcement of the winner.  I understand that the show wants suspense but it was pretty bad to force these young girls to endure the stretching out of the final announcement.  And yes, somebody from Angelica's family should have been right up there on stage in the same way that Darci's brothers.

That $1 million dollar prize is really an annuity that gets paid out at a rate of $25,0000/year for 40 years or a $300,000 one time pay out, so no instant millionaire.  Besides, for a million to be the same as it was 12 years ago today it should be $1.25 million.

Any in the top ten will have the opportunity to have a career from their talent given the amount of publicity they received.  Plus, they will be able to pick and choose what they want to do so they are by no means "losers".
