He was. If memory serves, the new season began shortly after his death with the girls blaming his mail-order Thai bride for not doing enough when he had his fatal heart attack and for taking all his money. I am not sure if it was because he had no will or his mail-order bride made him leave everything to her, but TBH, I doubt he had anything of value at that point. Now that I think about it, the one daughter was bitter because Lou had promised to leave her enough money to never have to work.

I am watching some older episodes during the recent week long marathon and I had forgotten all about Elizabeth Vargas, I had forgotten how nutty she was, the stories she would tell, you could never tell what was the truth and what wasn't. 

I am watching Noella's season now and what a wackado she is, sure she is going thru a divorce and had major financial issues but that was one strange girl.

Heather just gave her threatening speech to Shannon, how did Shannon not bust out laughing.

I have missed this show so much!

The latest season was on today, and some previous ones yesterday. All these women didn't help the show (Noella, Elizabeth, Brawnwyn, Gina, Emily, Jen Armstrong).

The only real thing about season 16 was Jen Armstrong and her marriage to her introverted husband.

I had a feeling she was looking for validation about how hard she had it...but I recall some people felt sorry for him.  And I think her drinking made him shut down.

Noella...she drove Heather crazy so that was her only redeeming value.

And I had a soft spot for Elizabeth Vargas...her dress sense was unique.  And being raised in a cult probably didn't help her determine what the truth was

Their interactions were the only organic/authentic part of season 16.

I often thought they would have fit into the original format of the show better.

Lynn was an aesthetician before she even met Frank, and she still is (but she didn't really mention it on the show because she wanted to present a different image). Some of the HWs go to her for treatments even now. Frank was in construction, a contractor. 

Gretchen and Slade lived on Jeff's money, but her townhouse was in foreclosure at least twice, starting I think in 2015, or about. She is an influencer now, she promotes different products.

She still does (she started the "business" on the show), but that's not a great source of income. I think it was Emily and Tamra who said they still go to her for facial treatments.

It is, but I have no idea about the volume of sales.

As for Lynn, according to her IG, she appears every now and then in pop ups in Laguna, or Newport stores for a couple of hours to sell her jewelry. The collection is very small, and the pieces are copies of well known brands like Gucci (horsebit, snake). She also has a website. This is not enough, and although people advertise this side of their life, they normally have another job. Lynn was never a big name HW, and she was on the show in the early years only.

I looked at the website, she highlighted George and Lauri's wedding but none of her jewelry was shown, I looked at her jewelry, none of it is my aesthetic and none of it looked like it would have been worn with a wedding dress.  I really don't remember Lorelei or her jewelry.

Lorelei was Lauri's friend from S1. They went to the Playboy mansion together.

I think the Canada episodes were some of the best episodes of the shows.  I remember Vicki screeching about not having threesomes on the slopes.

I knew very little about Playboy prior to the Girls Next Door. A lot of women saw Playboy as validation. You had to look a certain way to be a Playmate, a girlfriend, a Bunny, even just to get into one of their parties, if you weren't famous.
