I'll take that over the blue liquid all the pad commercials of the '80s used to demonstrate absorbency.

I noticed that today - that Pure Wick incontinence contraption uses blue (cartoon) liquid to represent urine. (Daytime TV is full of ads geared to old people)

I think I prefer the blue liquid. It's easy to see and while we know no one pees or bleeds blue water, the idea of the Pure Wick device using yellow colored water in its' commercial kind of skeeves me out (as would red water for the pads) I don't need my advertising to be that accurate to get the point across.

The anti-smoking ads are already gross enough, we don't need to add to that. jmo

I'm so glad I'm not a teenage girl. I saw an ad tonight for sanitary napkins that showed pink stains. Then, a woman who was wearing the advertised brand happily checked out her backside in a store front window. She wasn't having any issues on a gushing day. I felt like throwing something at the TV. Ads keep getting worse each week, it seems.

I guess you haven't seen the faux weather report one yet.🤢

I believe the second woman is Mindy Sterling, known for her role as Frau Farbissina in the Austin Powers movies.

She was also Linda Schwartz on The Goldbergs.  That's where I've seen her the most.

Once upon a time I was a teenage girl.  Thanks to my enlightened mother I bypassed sanitary pads altogether and went straight to tampons (and not the crappy cardboard applicator ones).

I wasn't lucky enough to be able to use tampons.  It had nothing to do with enlightenment or lack thereof but was a physical issue.  But tampon commercials are often just as icky as pad commercials.

I always wished they'd admit that there's more involved than just liquid, but then again, that would be pretty yucky to hear about too, so maybe not.

While I am not a fan of Amy Shumer, I do appreciate the logic behind this. That chart is some pretty basic information that many of us already know, but please do not underestimate how many girls and women there are in America who are ignorant about their bodies because religion and it's gross. My mother never once mentioned tampons when I started. I had to learn about them on my own, and I'm a nerd who did actually read the whole insert.

ITA, I'm glad that we are openly talking about this and we're able to pass along information and still keep it fun and light (no pun intended) My mother, as well, never discussed tampons and when to use which ones.  🤷‍♀️ So these commercials make it no so taboo and dirty

Despite this Hyundai commercial annoying me for many reasons, I still want to know who are the 2 older actresses:

I've seen them both before, but I know them by face, not by name.  Just keep checking that iSpot page to see if the actor info gets filled in -- it was only posted two days ago.

Just in case anyone else is wondering, yes, it's Mindy Sterling (imdb.comwikipedia.org) as the mom's friend, and Cindy Drummond is the mom (adspotcast.com/hyundai-tucson-commercial-actress).

Ugh and wtf? to the Arm & Hammer Power sheets (laundry detergent) commercialfeaturing the recently Ozempic'd Meghan Trainor singing some weird jingle about how this detergent has 'a booty' and a 'juicy bum bum'. Power Sheets

I get that she's riffing off her long-ago 'All 'bout that Bass' hit, but come on.

I actually had an experience with Pure Wick last month

I had 5 hour stay in the emergency room and I had liquids pumped into me for dehydration and meds for nausea and dizziness

I told the nurse I had to go to the bathroom and he offered me a bedpan catheter or Pure Wick that he said I may have seen on TV and he recommended

I have no idea how this thing works at home when someone’s sleeping but I was in no condition to move however if I could have I have no idea how this thing would’ve stayed in place

I had the exact same experience last year when I had an episode of vertigo. I couldn't deal with that thing but had no choice because the room was spinning for hours. And I didn't want a catheter either.

I asked to be helped to the bathroom even though I could hardly stand up because I just couldn't handle that contraption. They were pumping me with fluids because I was dehydrated so I had to go more, too. And of course I had a male nurse, which didn't exactly help.

I don't think I'm a good candidate for pure wick. I'm too well potty trained and it didn't feel like it stayed in place enough to work without leaks anyway. Thank goodness I got over the vertigo and out of the hospital after one night.

But then I am one of apparently a VERY small minority who likes those badly sung Burger King ads... 🤭

I used to love the old Burger King jingle back in the day. I even worked at one in the Summer of '77, the Summer of the blackout in NYC. I was so nostalgic over that tune over the years that I often wished they would bring it back in new commercials.

You know what they say about being careful what you wish for, right? 😉

Vintage Burger King commercials with that tune - And yes, that's the exact uniform I wore. I don't have a photo of me in it, sadly. I wish I did but back then I was kind of embarrassed of it!:

This one's my favorite. I love the way at the end the girl says (nudge, wink) that the Whopper is one big HAMBURGER, yeah, that's right, it's a hamburger, lol. 😉:

I wish I was here a week or so ago when my husband kept insisting Mindy was Lily Tomlin! I told him no way would Lily Tomlin ever look like that (no offense to Mindy but come on)... And I saw Lily in "Grace and Frankie" so I'm well aware of what she looks like these days.

I researched it myself then and found out it was Mindy from Austin Powers. Of course my husband remembers that movie vividly so he had to concede.

There is a Ford commercial where Lainey Wilson is singing and I cannot make out anything she’s saying except the word “four”.  I have tried HARD to figure out what she’s saying — it’s like a puzzle I want to crack — and I cannot do it!  So what is the good if it’s a “cool voice” but you don’t know what they’re saying?  Yeah, I know it’s gotten my attention so there’s that, but I’m sure not motivated to buy a Ford.

Oh my gosh, it literally just now started playing as I’m typing this.  It drives me nuts!
