Tuesday Recap. Mika & Joe seem to be less manic this morning.

Mika is mad at Trump for calling Warren Pocahantas.

Joe is mad at Trump & called him a calculating bigot for insulting all races except WASP's.

Elise is Frustrated that Trump can't do simple ceremonies without creating chaos.

Mika was informed about Jackson's Indian removal act & started moaning about Trump.

Mika went on a tirade and said " This is where we are". Joe started laughing at her.

Elise is good at playing the frustrated panelist.

Joe said he doesn't like playing the race card.

Joe said that Trump was a lifelong Democrat who decided to pick up birtherism in order to win the GOP nomination.

Joe said Trump is calculating.

Mika said Trump is not mentally strong compared to 1988.

Mika nearly kissed Joe. She was getting very close to him while he was on his rant .He stopped and started laughing. He told her to  stop interrupting him. Mika is wearing a tight fitting black sweater.

Mika said Sarah is behaving like Kelly Ann Conway.

Eddie said that Trump will lose in 2018 if he continues to behave outrageously.

Well the good news is Mika must have gotten there in time for them to comb her hair as she looks more put together (love her dress too).  Lucky for them Pres. Big Brain dropped that Pocahantas line again which left them a clear opening to tsk tsk at the administration with Mika taking the lead against SHS (how can she defend the Pres. while she's raising children?) Yeah Mika, right back at ya.  They clearly must have had a major time out as things are much calmer today.

Landsnark, thanks for highlighting that "Chief" comment as I hadn't heard that part but it does clarify a post from one of the reporters in the room that said one of his staff had to turn their back as they were smirking.  Now we know which one it was.  It's hard to watch a man that has given so much for this country flush his reputation with what he has said and done (and smirked) for this administration.

Mika was happy that the Washington Post turned the tables on Project Veritas.! They are a group that makes the media look foolish with sting operations like  Acorn & Planned Parenthood.

Mika wanted to have a conversation  about sexual harassment.

I'm still exploding with rage over the codetalker story.  These men volunteered to use their heritage to benefit a country they were loyal to, yet a country which had treated native people so horribly in the past.  Seeing you-know-who treat them with blatant disregard to get a cheap racist jab at a political adversary made me furious again at 3am Pacific.  I know we poke fun at Mike and Joe, but I was happy to see them let loose this morning.

Joe's friends are mad at Trump but say at least Trump is not Hillary Clintion.

Elise called out uneducated Trump voters.

The panel is excited that Bill Kristol becoming a liberal!. He will become a feminist, socialist loving guy.

Mika is going about about Miss Continenti teaching history in the Trump era. He is excited about the Navajo Code Talkers.

I switched over to New Day and they had a great discussion about the Pocahontas jab with two native american gentlemen which was terrific.  I wish I had seen the whole thing as their first hand experiences really drive the point home.  The one gentlemen is an actor/producer and said Trump knew exactly what he was doing including staging the whole scene to include the Andrew Jackson portrait.  I still can't believe he won.

These two morons can't even coherently keep it together to open the show.

And political genius Willie, fresh off his Sunday Today interview with Tyler Perry, adds nothing. Only Elise Jordan saved the first 10 minutes.

Joe brought up the GOP women who will vote in the rain for Doug Jones. Joe was excited naming various suburbs in Alabama that could vote for Democrats.

I spotted Scarborough sitting at the bar of Cherry Street East Cafe in New Canaan last night.   He was feverishly writing on a sheet of lined yellow paper, then he seemed to get frustrated.  He balled it up, threw a twenty down on the bar and left.

When he was gone, I retrieved the paper to see what he was writing.   I think it's lyrics:

Quote

They're coming out to vote/ In water repellent coats/

Women standin' in the rain/

They defy precipitation/ To save our troubled nation

Women standin' in the rain/

Working their umbrellas/ There's Heidi Przybyla/

Women standin' in the rain/

The rest of it was scratched out, except for four words:

Nothing rhymes with Mika!

Joe needs to stop lying about most Americans being anti-choice. I just googled, and it's 57%  pro-choice.

Also, am I  the only one who thinks that guy who's going to be a write-in challenger against Roy Moore is a bit of a flake?

The guy who is running as the write-in in Alabama?  What planet is he on?  He made almost no sense...maybe due to inexperience?  I guess people think Alabamans (ians?) will rush out and vote for a guy if he is retired military.  You know, rather than vote for the guy who truly is qualified and hard/tough on crime.  I have to wonder what Joe, Mika and Willy thought of the "interview"...they didn't have much to say after.  Maybe they were thinking what a lot of us were probably thinking..."who on earth did we just interview"...or some such.

And the equivalency that the Dems should loosen their position(s) on abortion?  What Republican candidate in modern times has EVER given an inch on abortion?  Anyone?  Well, maybe a few of them were pro-choice until they actually had to run for office.  Why can't anyone call these two on this kind of thing?

Can we add "Birmingham suburbs" to the list of pre-recorded statements that Joe says over and over and over.  And then some more again. Like "Trump is a lifelong Democrat," and "Women standing out in the rain."

For a military officer, he sure was inarticulate.

Could that new Alabama write in candidate possibly have been more boring?  Also, although he didn't dig at the 2 contenders much (even LEFT WING COMMUNIST Doug Jones) he also said absolutely nothing to show how he was qualified.

I haven't watched for two days and boy am I in a better mood. I saw the first couple minutes with Mika acting spastic and Joe saying Darrell Hammond was great and turned it off. Why bother?

All they do is spend two hours freaking out over Trump, and Joe bitching about not getting to deduct property taxes on his mansion in CT.

How would you like to be one of the people making less that $75K a year who will see their taxes go up, Joe?  I'm pretty sure you'll end up falling in the bracket where you won't even notice losing that prop tax deduction.

I heard that today and thought, rewind to October 2016 and they were saying that about women and Trump - that women would be disgusted by Trump and vote for Clinton or at the very least, stay home. Then Election Day comes and white women vote for Trump over Clinton. You could just take a tape of their discussions last fall and superimpose "Moore" any time they said "Trump." And as for their assertion that people will stay home - for a state that went 70% for Trump, an awful lot of people need to stay home. I doubt the Dems have a reliable GOTV mechanism in a state they haven't been competitive in for decades.

I think Meeka is looking a little rough lately...yesterday capping it off.  I think her clothes are kind of drab...I think she is maybe just over the show at this point.  She has many many better better irons in the fire these days.  As awful as Joe is most of the time, he makes me laugh once in awhile...pretty good sense of humor about some stuff.  She, on the other hand, seems to have next to none.  But to her credit, she DOES seem to be trying.  If I was Southern, I would say Bless Her Heart.

And included in the words/phrases I am really tired of...Tribalism. Tribes.

I am Pennsylvania Dutch.  In PA Dutch there's a term, "stroobly." It means disheveled or stringy, especially in the hair.  Mika's hair has been looking STROOBLY lately.

Good observation -- I think she was also not wearing it on Monday, too, which may have had something to do with why her hands were in her sleeves.  Maybe she was self conscious about not wearing her ring.  They have been very flirty on tv so I doubt there has been a change in their status, but I wonder if something happened to the ring!

Wednesday Recap. Mika is off today without an announcement. It's the Old Boys Club panel. Barnicle,.Heilemann, Willie.

Julie Pace gets the library & KCDC gets the Washington backdrop. She is wearing a green scarf.

Joe is still mad at the Washington Post for complaining about his pre taped show  Joe is mad that they used an un named viewer.

Joe made fun of owning a green jacket which is worn by people who win the Master's tournamment. Joe warned the Post that it is a joke & not to criticize him for pretending to win a golf tournament.

Joe is mad at Trump for blowing up the debt negotiations. Joe said he was a bad deal maker & ripped off contractors.

Joe is mad at Trump's tax plan. It raises taxes on people that own $5m mansions in Connecticut. This is a key voting bloc. They will stand out in the rain with umbrellas held by their servants to vote.

Joe is mad at Obama for not focusing on optics during the debt negotiations and being snobby above it all.

Joe is mad at Trump for not realizing he has a governing majority to get deals done.

Joe is now making fun of GOP yahoos that always vote against the debt ceiling like he used to do in Congress. Joe knew that his vote wouldn't make a difference but it was fun to have good talking points that he was a deficit hawk!.

Joe said Trump needs Democratic votes to get the debt ceiling raised.

Joe is mad at the Giants ownership for benching Eli Manning who won several super bowls.

Barnicle is outraged at Trump's behavior. He is not behaving like the President of the United States ! He uses this line every time he is on the show.

Joe is mad at China for teaching North Korea how to launch missiles at the USA.

Joe said China is enabling North Kprea.

Chang said a War is more likely with North Korea.

Chang wants sanctions against China.

Joe said that if Mika was on the set , she would say that Trump is not well.

Eugene Robinson is mad at Trump & wrote an article that is very critical of Trump. Trump is not filling key positions in the government like the first science officer.

Trump is nihilist!

Unnamed sources said that Trump doesn't believe in Obama's birth certificate & the Access Hollywood tape. Unnammed sources can be used by the Washington Post to attack Trump but not Joe.

Joe must be furious that Trump is tweeting about Fox & Friends this morning instead of Morning Joe. Joe did say hello to Trump at the beginning of the show.

Matt Lauer was fired for Inappropriate Sexual Behavior with ?????. Wow!

Joe is talking about sexual harrassment

I wasn't going to watch today but had to switch over when the news hit CNN just to see Joe's reaction as it wouldn't shock me if his name was added to the list.  Oakville you made me laugh about Willie, you can practically see his chair spinning on the MJ set as he races over to Andy Lack's office.

I like Willie, but maybe it's best if these morning shows are hosted by woman for awhile. Good Morning America is the only one left on the major networks  that hasn't been hit. If I was George Stephanopoulos, I'd be thinking back over my past behavior.

Back in Rhode Island in the early 80s there was a nightly show called PM Magazine (7:30 pm, Mon-Fri) on WJAR, the local NBC affiliate.   The local hosts were Matt Lauer and Sheila Martines.

Lauer moved on to success in New York, but Sheila's career fizzled after the show folded.   She landed in scandal some years later by faking her own kidnapping.   She was found dead in her home three years ago, the death attributed to chronic alcohol abuse.

Now Lauer's fallen from grace too.

I love Willie, too.  He is a solid presence on this morning zoo.  And he is probably going to be a good host on Today.  I do, however, think he can come across as somewhat boring; but after the revelations in these past weeks about Men Behaving Badly...maybe "somewhat boring" is the way to go.  I like that he can just talk about the news of the day without personal asides, yelling and trying to be funny.

Opening of the show. I learn more about Eli Manning than I care.

Eugene Robinson, Barnicle and anyone else complaining about fat ass's behavior. Get over it. It's never going to change.

Umm. Julie Pace thinks fat ass's new crazy behavior may mean big shoe - Flynn -out to drop?

I think that NBC was considering replacing Matt a few years ago after the debacle with Natalie Morales & Ann Curry.

NBC will save millions by getting rid of Matt Lauer.

I also wonder if they would put Megyn Kelly on the show?

I personally would be surprised if they put Megyn in that slot as her ratings are not good and I believe there is still some animosity toward her from when NBC brought/bought her on board.  I've tried to watch her show, it's just not good and she is spotty at best IMO.

Morning Joe, also known as Psychology Today with Joe as Sigmund Freud and Barnicle as Carl Jung, discuss how Trump has dementia, or a mental disorder. A year ago he made a statement that he was sorry for making locker room talk about grabbing "kittycats," but yesterday he said that wasn't his voice on the Billy Bush tape! Altzheimers! Borderline Personality Disorder! Mentally ill! What they neglect to instead discuss is how he is totally and completely without morals or any modicum of decency, lies constantly because he's always gotten away with it, is getting away with it now, and will probably get away with it when he gets re elected in 2020..

So when the Lauer news came out, everyone was stunned as expected, and then Joe eventually says, I didn’t know Matt but on my first day at NBC I was a Republican and nobody said anything to me but then Matt came across the newsroom and shook my hand and made me feel welcome.

What the hell? As if the NBC newsroom didn’t know or like any Republicans? They’re on the damn network all the time. And what is this, high school? I’m betting this never happened. And, nice way of making it about yourself.

And is there’s ANY situation that Peggy Noonan can’t shoehorn Pope John Paul II into?

Yeah, Willie got unfairly bounced from the Today weekday mothership and landed on Morning Joe but many did think he was the heir to Matt's seat. He's been doing his stints on weekend Today so they've definitely kept him in the wings waiting. It's basically the same with Brian Williams and Lester Holt. Once Brian went on 'leave' and Lester was interim anchor I was thinking that this was his moment to shine and get that chair permanently because Williams wasn't coming back. Lester took hold and never looked back. Might be the same for Willie. Although I can totally see the news teams keeping the shows all female for a while. They simply don't want any more bombs to drop.
