I thought only BB of the original cast had passed away?

I remember being so embarrassed buying that book XD. I should dig it out and read it again for laughs.

And Rudy 😞

OMG of course. 😢

I enjoyed the first one way more than I expected.  I couldn’t remember who some of the cast were, and it made me remember why I didn’t like Kelley Wentworth in her first season, and I kind of wish Chelsea had gone further in her season (even if it meant we would have been deprived of the spectacle that was Dean).  So I’m hoping this installment is just as good.

With news that things are going to begin re-opening, and Hollywood is making plans to try and start filming, I’m hoping that means we will get Survivor in the fall.  Even if it’s not a normal, traditional season.  They may be able to pull something off.

Audrey posted another teaser and it is going to be Survivors from the New Zealand, Australian, South African, and American version taking part.  I really don't know anyone from either South African or the New Zealand versions (I've watched bits of both but I found both to be boring) but I am all for Australia and America.  I wonder who they will get.

Only Survivor from another country I know about is Turabi "Turbo" Çamkıran, who popped up on two seasons of The Challenge. I think of him as the Turkish Chuck Norris, and I think he's the only person to ever win back-to-back seasons of a Survivor. He won on his first Challenge, but he was more or less booted from the second season.

More on-topic: what is this game they play? It's all online stuff?

Nah Jordan was just a pussy chicken.

Yes, it takes elements from Survivor and Big Brother and mashes them together.  They have actually held live versions of it as well (Three seasons in total) and it was pretty entertaining.  Basically all it is, is each round there is a different way to vote.  One round it could be the person with the highest amount of even votes will be eliminated.  The next round people will have a "bounty" on another player and if their bounty gets voted out they will get some sort of Immunity.  Stuff like that.  In the live version they play the game in a house.

Oooh, I am super intrigued that people from other versions will be playing. I've only seen one season of Australia and none of the others but still lol. There are tons of people from season 3 (I think that was the season) of Australian Survivior that I'd love to see on Sequester.

Cast list for the Survivor Sequester Mini:

I don't know the International players at all and don't know some of the American players, but no surprise to Adam or Michele, and am probably rooting for them. Boo to Aaron and especially Missy.

I knew Nick and Harry were going to do it.  If anything was a given it was the two of them.  Not going to lie I have a tiny crush on Annelise so I am glad she's there.  I don't know any of the NZ or South African players.

Adam is close with Nick and Anneliese from Survivor AU (he met them both in Australia, and Anneliese came to LA and went to Cabo with Adam, Jay and Angelina back in summer 2018, true story). This cast has his fingerprints all over it.

Lisa is the badass who won the latest edition of Survivor New Zealand. A super-fan who I believe was a librarian, and played the meek middle-aged woman role to a T. A stealth strategist who had good relationships with everyone and came to her finale wearing the Rob Has a Podcast bell shirt. LOVE her.

Dylan was also on Survivor New Zealand and played the actual nerdy super-fan (who if I remember correctly, was sort of loathed by everyone). Hmm, I'm sensing a pattern here.

(oh god, Matt and Dave! Where are they now? The biggest international Survivor scandal nobody cared about except for me. And that includes Anneliese's brother playing Survivor the year after her and not telling producers they were related. ::raises nachos in Benji's honor:: )

It is funny I loved Anneliese and despised Benji.  Maybe it was is odd hair or his weird accent.  I am not sure who had the more odd accent Benji or Ace from Survivor Gabon.

And somewhere, Vince Sly is fuming because once again, Joe has one-upped him. First, it was shelter-building, now it's spiritual mumbo-jumbo.

In all seriousness though, this Modern Day Knights Project looks dangerous and toxic as all get out.

Also a little tone-deaf to share a photo of yourself on the ground while an armed person in uniform kneels on you.

Ha. I thought about Vince too and the rest of the no-collars and how odd it is that as between Vince, Will, and Joe, it turns out that Vince might be the least objectionable.

If anyone finds a youtube link for the Sequester mini from last night please let me know!

You can go watch it either on sequesteraccess.com, or you can watch it on goodiesfor.me/multiview. Those allow you to click through the individual rounds on your own.

It was an intense game last night, that's for sure. A lot more drama, but not in a good way. I did prefer the first Survivor Sequester to this one for many reasons, but there was some drama involving the discussion of race in last night's game that definitely felt uncomfortable to watch. It wasn't necessarily a bad game (there was some good gameplay from Adam and some...questionable moments from Michele), but it was uncomfortable to watch at times.

The replays on those sites never work for me.

But I found it on youtube.

The first half was kinda slow and uninteresting, then it picked up, then it was messy for a minute. Stephen losing again was funny lol. I wanna like Stephen but he always ends up ruining it for me. This time mostly because he kept acting so affronted by Nick kissing ass and then he'd go and kiss ass.

Honestly, I skipped some of Shirin's final speech. I find it hard to decide whether Shirin is being sincere or not most of the time. Plus, she seemed a bit out of it so it was just uncomfortable. And Nick making it about himself lol. Buddy!

Harry seemed wasted pretty much immediately and by the end I thought he was going to pass out. His eyes were so not there.

Michele, Tommy, Dean, and Chelsea having a party and showing their drunk asses was such a bad look. Super embarrassing.

Adam crying during his final question was also very embarrassing.

I ended up having a good impression of most of the international people so I might try to find their seasons. The international episodes are so fucking long though. I don't have the patience for that!

I seriously need to see Stephen's seasons; he appeared in two of them, right?

I was interested in some of the International players as the game went on so I might check out their seasons...but I also still need to continue catching up to American Survivor!

Also never saw Shirin's season so had no idea who she was going into this. She seemed drunk, and she also just sat in one room the entire time until she got kicked out so I didn't exactly pay much attention to her. She definitely seems messy, especially when she started going on and on about people voting out all the people of colour during the game when she was the one who voted out all the people of colour.

So bad to watch. Michele ended up trying to quit jury and then got dragged back, half by Audrey and half by the audience when she read the backlash about her quitting to go party during a pandemic. That was definitely not a good look for Michele at all. But she tweeted this morning that she felt bad about her behaviour and is embarassed to have acted like that. I don't know what Michele's like to know if it's a sincere apology, but whatever. I still won't be following her on social media so this doesn't affect me at all.

I figured she would. I believe her it's just that, like, you're 30. You should know better! So careless.

I thought Tommy came off the worst there though. Isn't he married with kids? And he presumably has a real job. At least the others are single, childless people whose job is basically just 'reality tv personality.'

I would not recommend watching Shirin's first season lol. I don't even remember her from Second Chances. She must have went early.

Heh. I just looked it up. He's in a relationship but I'm not sure if he's married. They don't have any kids, and he is a teacher (or was or who knows; a lot of reality "stars" end up quitting their jobs after they get "famous" so no idea if he's working or not). And it's funny because he's the youngest out of that group (he's 27 and the rest are a year or two older than him).

I judge Michele and group more for partying in a pandemic. I mean, Dean was literally licking tequila off of Michele, at one point. Yuck. And Chelsea, who JUST PLAYED Sequester Survivor last month, is the one encouraging Michele to leave and party with them.

They were all really gross. So disrespectful and just stupid.

Why the fuck did I think Tommy had a wife and kids lol? I have a memory of him mentioning it towards the end of his season and being surprised because I didn't remember him ever mentioning it before. Wild!

She did, which I was fine with.  IIRC, she got voted off by pissing off Abi, but before that was in a pretty good spot.

And yes, I'd probably avoid World's Apart until your desperate lol Although sooner or later I'm going to end up re-watching it.  I'm trying to get in all the Survivor seasons, good, bad, and ones that will probably make me start drinking.  But I want to be consistent.

I tried to watch it live but I gave up after Seipei got voted out.  It was just way too annoying to watch live, I will have to watch that YouTube cut of it, because that person manages to go a great job of going to the right rooms and whatnot.

Edited to add: I forgot to mention this but, is it me or did Lauren's face look entirely different.  Did she have some work done to her face?  I thought she was beautiful on her season, but last night...not so much.  Her face looked odd.

I'll be honest, I'm not entirely sure because I ended up fast forwarding through a good portion of his final question/speech because he was talking about Shirin so much and I had fast forwarded her's because it was so uncomfortable. And then he started crying and I was just like, this is too much second-hand embarrassment for me! I didn't know him and Nick had a connection because of their moms. Now I'm not as surprised by him voting for Nick to win.

I didn't think she looked that different but she must have just had her lips done or something because she had them pursed/in a pout the entire time and it was so distracting lol.

I usually don't keep up with anything having to do with Survivor when it's not airing but I actually enjoy the hell out of these Sequester games. I wish they'd do ones with BB and Survivor people every week! Maybe throw in some TAR people as well actually.

He started crying right when he was talking about Sunday and her cancer so that's why. I know Nick mentioned to Adam at one point during the questioning (or maybe at F4) their similar situations with their mothers. But I also think that Adam was still upset by the Shirin stuff so that also may have been a factor in his tears. And, to be fair, Shirin HAD just singled him out and heavily implied that he was racist for getting rid of her so...can't really blame him for the tears. I was actually predicting the tears! They just came later in his segment than I thought.

Apparently, yesterday, Shirin was part of a reunion podcast with Jacques, Toni and Lisa to talk about the game and she had no idea what she said during her jury questioning and, thus, had no idea why Adam might be upset with her. That's why she had to also tweet an apology to him yesterday (she texted him at one point and he didn't text her back lol). Jacques had to tell Shirin to go watch the jury questioning to see why she upset Adam, and Lisa had to tell her that Adam seemed very upset with what she said about him during her jury questions to Stephen and Nick and that she should reach out to Adam again.

There was also some Missy/Michele drama on Twitter yesterday about Missy thinking that Michele voted her out when she didn't.

Either way, an intense game, not as fun as the first game and more drama behind the scenes than the first game. Still, I want a third one.

I would just chalk this up to the difference between "at home, made-up for the public" and "on an island for weeks without worrying about it". I checked out Lauren's Instagram back when her season was on, and she looked very different in many of the pre-Survivor photos, too. So I think it's just her trying hard vs. not trying hard...and go figure, not trying hard looks way better!

I finally got to watch the whole thing (well I did ff through a lot of it) but the whole racism thing was so over the top.  I loved when Michelle was all like, "Hey we should like super totally not vote out any more minorities because it is a bad look."  After she just voted out Seipei.  If you are going to virtue signal Michelle how about you practice what you preach.

Then there was the woman who was on the commentary team complaining about the exact same thing, how all of the POC (I hate using that term but whatever, it seems to be the term used now) were being voted out.  I look over on the board and see that three out of the first four contestants voted out were white.  But yeah somehow everyone was out to get the POC players.  She then flat out called Nick a racist for being the one to push for all of the POC players to be voted out.  That is a pretty shitty thing to do without any actual evidence and feelings do not count as evidence.

I guess she got blowback in the the chats which caused her to leave.  It like, well you called a dude racist without any evidence, what did you think people's reaction were going to be.  Then she came back talking about how she was just pointing out the obvious and blah, blah, blah.

Then you had the whole Shirin thing, which I guess because she was drunk or high or whatever does not really count.  But her whole being the only POC on the jury was a dumb thing to bring up when she was actively trying to get Albert out of the game early on.

I have watched other mini-Sequester games besides this one (Where it was non-reality stars) and I came to the conclusion that I could never play that game because I despise identity politics and it seems like the only people to play these games are people who are firmly entrenched in identity politics.  Heck I watched one game where there was this white gay contestant who was voted out and he also had to drag someone out of the game with him.  He said and I quote, "I wish there were some Cis-straight white males left in the game, but because there is not this is going to be harder."  Not one person batted an eye over what he said, almost as if that was a perfectly normal reason to eliminate someone from the game.  Okay rant over.

Ah, that's probably why I love these games lol. Seeing the players actually acknowledge and talk about that kind of stuff and how it affects these types of games is so much more interesting to me than when the same things happen on the proper shows and everyone tries to hide it or pretend it's not happening.

I didn't notice anyone flat out call someone a racist but I did fast forward some of it. The fact is, Nick was targeting only POC from the beginning of the game so I don't have a problem with that being pointed out.

I was just thinking, I fast forwarded some of the race talk because I was 'uncomfortable.' How white of me. I think I need to go back and watch what I fast forwarded.

To me the word racist gets thrown around far too often that it has lost all impact.  Which it should not.  Nick said he wanted to break up Aaron and Missy because they were a tight two, much like he and Harry were.  That sounds more like sound gameplay to me and less about him being racist.  Without any proof otherwise I am going to take him at his word and not brand him a racist.  Much like if it were reverse and it were Aaron and Missy targeting Harry and Nick for elimination, I would not automatically assume they were racist for wanting to break up a known duo.

Given Nick's track record of voting for POC on his seasons of Australian Survivor (4/5 possible times, and playing a double-vote advantage in one case), and given what I've heard from people who've interacted with him in person, and given what his part of Australia is like in general, I'm fine with calling that racist a racist. I'm not saying he's like a slur enthusiast or anything, or that it's deliberate, but... there's a pattern there.

I watched his Australian Survivor season but I don't really remember it so thanks for that info, @SnideAsides. That certainly is a pattern.

Also, not for nothing but when Shirin was talking about racism, Nick's response was to talk about himself and a time he was thought of as a POC because he's Italian or some such nonsense lol.

I didn't watch the second sequester, and don't think I will judging by what's been said here.  Michele must have taken a beating online, though, because she's apparently taking a Twitter hiatus for awhile.

Also, with the rumors that Big Brother might leave Los Angeles and go film in Fiji (site of Love Island), I wonder if that means Survivor may actually get a season filmed for the fall.  I do think it's all rumors for Big Brother, but interesting if true.
