B&B: What's Up Today at Forrester Creations? - Daily Chat

Recommended Posts

Oh Liam, keep your crap advice to yourself, will ya?  And Hope actually listens to the goofball with the stupid head thing?  She’s really gonna give The Wimp another chance?  Really?  Sheesh, she’s as ridiculous & foolish as mommy!

I was rubbing my eyes in disbelief & trying to unclog my ears!  What the what?  Can it be???  Smuggy actually did something thoughtful & kind for someone other than herself, & insisted Liam tell Hope about his condition.  Unbelievable!!!!  But did the dumbass do it?  No, of course not.  Will the dumbass do it?  No, of course not cuz he’s such a dumbass!

So it seems that it’s going to take Liam dying to bring Stuffy and Hope closer together and getting HFTF back to FC.

Liam talks about his girls but he’s living with Stuffy so he gets to see Kelly more and Beth would have to be brought to him.

The fantastic FC executives base their decisions on animosity rather Ethan good business. Ridge still resents Brooke wearing the show stopper even though everyone feels it stole the show. Stuffy won’t bring back HFTF even though it was a big part of the FC brand for quite a few years. In addition, Ridge takes it as a personal insult that Hope didn’t kiss his hairy ass a beg for forgiveness. Hope is only guilty of be loyal to Carter and his dream for the future of FC.

I’m sorry to say that Liam’s words of wisdom fall flat with that schemata on his head. It’s almost as bad as Ridge trying to look smart by wearing black round glasses 🤓

I still stand firm that Hope has nothing to apologize for at FC. If anything Ridge and Steffy should apologize to Hope. Especially Ridge, given all the horrible names he's called her. And HE'S hurt by her because she used to be his stepdaughter? I can't believe the arrogance and audacity of that guy.

Anybody else think that Steffy, in a rare moment of insight and bonding over Liam, will bring Hope and HFTF back to FC? Liam should make that one of his "dying wishes" and make that happen.

This wasn't a very interesting Friday episode. Ridge being the same asshole he always is. Liam badgering Hope into giving the wimpy dude who kissed another woman and chose the assholes who bullied Hope another chance. Hope not wondering why Liam is talking like someone who is tying up the loose ends of his life before he dies.

Seriously, how come neither Brooke nor Carter is reminding the Hobo that he has some shit to apologize to Hope, the child he raised as his own, for? Of course, he's so self-centered, that he can only mention that relationship when he's whining about how Hope "betrayed" him, not how he called that girl he considered his daughter a bitch and a slut. As always, God forbid anyone remind Ridge/Steffy/Taylor of any of their wrongdoing while they're ranting about all the wrongs they've valiantly suffered. I hope that, when Carter tells Hope that he thinks he can get Ridge to put in a good word with Steffy if Hope apologizes, she asks him when Ridge will apologize for the awful shit he's said to and about her.

If Hope apologizes, it should be like this. "I'm sorry for ever trusting Carter's plan. I should've known better than to trust the judgment of anyone who saw Ridge as a best friend".

Your post was probably facetious, but I really do want this to happen, or at least close enough to it.

Hey, if Hope is coerced into apologizing to asshole Ridge, then I want it to be one of those Real Housewives non-apologies Ramona was always throwing out -- Oh gee, Ridge, I'm soooo sorry if you were offended by . . .  whatever bullshit you were supposedly offended by, and now, are you gonna apologize to me for constantly referring to me as a b*tch & a sl*t to my mother?

Here is an interesting tidbit. I was bored yesterday and scrolled YT and chose a random old B&B episode.

Anybody remember this one? RM's Ridge staged a coup to oust Eric as CEO of FC and install him as Emeritus CEO. This was because Eric agreed to let Thorne use the FC name on a Spectra off-the-rack label. (IIRC, Thorne has jumped ship and was CEO of Spectra.) Eric was furious with Ridge, defended Thorne, and uttered these famous lines to be used later by Ridge. "It's not going to happen R-R-R-RIDGE! It's not going to happen!"

So, technically, Ridge has no right to punish Hope (and until lately, Carter) for their coup. Of course, the writers have conveniently forgotten about this.

Here's the thing about FC's "life blood" that is couture.  It almost always refers to one-of-a-kind, custom gowns and dresses.  (Weren't Marie Osmond and Esther from Y&R fighting for one of the FC "couture" designs?)

Some of the "couture" seen on runways are never even available for purchase or intended for the public.  They're loss-leaders designed to make the public want something, anything, with that fashion house's label on it.  But couture on its own, without lower-priced (but still very expensive) pieces is not enough to sustain any fashion house.

The unthinkable has happened, friends. Liam & even Steffy actually made me a bit misty-eyed today. I doubt that Liam is actually going to die, no spoilers, just my guess, but SC is all in, & I honestly wouldn’t be shocked if he does die. When he said that he wants his daughters to have each other after he’s gone, ugh, that’s all I’d really want for my kids, too, I couldn’t even stop the waterworks. I was crying over my soup, at my desk, trying to be quiet so I didn’t have to embarrassingly tell my coworkers why I was crying. SC is doing a good job, especially with the crap material of not telling Hope.

But Brooke is so dumb she hurts my head. This is Ridge Forrester, he’s not a mate-for-life-&-count-myself-blessed kinda guy. Wait your turn for the merry-go-round, it’ll come back around & you can jump on for a ride. Or, hold out for the real stallion, your choice, but I know what I’d choose. Giddy up.

I might have gotten misty, too, about Steam, except being reminded of their reunion on the beach after Captive Cabin, and JMW nearly knocking poor SC over took me out of the scene.

Then there was this:

Nothing says romantic reunion like a literal dumpster five feet away.

I remember this well.

As I remember the time Ridge went all in on the Marone name and jumped ship to work for Massimo at Marone Industries, after he was fired by Brooke for constantly challenging Rick. He bought Spectra Fashions and primed it to compete against Forrester in open fashion warfare, culminating in the Portofino competition (where Brooke wore a similar dress to the one she recently wore as the showstopper). Yet he was welcomed back with open arms.

The callback to Portofino was a perfect opportunity for TPTB to have Ridge to reflect on this and realize his hypocrisy and apologize and rehire Hope, but, as usual, they wasted that history.

If I was Hope, I would tell Carter that he has to get HFTF reinstated, at FC, before I would even consider taking him back.

The theme of today’s show is have mercy on me.  I think that Ridge “gets off” on Brooke begging to come back to her. Where Hope is suspicious that Carter’s loyalty lies with Ridge more than it lies with her.  Carter sounds like an unfaithful spouse  who promises that it will not happen again. 🐂💩, Daphne will wear her “heavenly scent” (not much else), grab Carter by the short hairs, and they will be off to the races.

Has anyone seen the John Travolta movie Phenomenon?  It’s about George Malley who has a brain tumor and suddenly becomes a genius who exhibits extraordinary intelligence and tries to use it to benefit his environment.  Who does this sound like?  Yes, It’s Liam Spencer who basically has two brains. Once is lost and the other one is out looking for it.  It took a brain tumor for Liam to turn into a sage from a waffling ping pong boy.

Oh, Liam, you weren't the cause of the animosity between Steffy and Hope. You were just one of the many issues that played out because of that animosity.

Carter, you're still not getting it. You just want Hope to get over it and take you back. He may not be able to get Hope her line back, but, at minimum, he should be standing up for her to Ridge and telling him that the way he speaks to and about Hope is not OK, and that their friendship can't sustain him repeatedly disrespecting her and blaming her for what he did.

I laughed when Brooke and Ridge were talking about his commitment to Beige. He's always so lackluster in his statements about his relationship with her. If some other woman says to the man in your life "I know you don't want to disappoint her," and he doesn't passionately respond with "I love her," then is that really even your man?

FeeFee has become a real contender for most desperate woman on a show with Brooke and Taylor. At least Ridge has lead Brooke and Taylor on for decades, but FeeFee is doing all the work in chasing Carter, and while he'll accept her kisses, it's Hope that he keeps seeking out. Don't get me wrong FeeFee, I want you to have Millennial Ridge, but this isn't working out for you so far. Liam is now going to bring together Hope and Steffy as his dying wish? Well he better get ready to haunt Steffy from beyond, because there's no way that viper will be able to keep from biting Hope eventually.

I cheered when Deacon burst in on Hope and Carter's conversation.

And then Carter is right back with Pepe, and let's see what he does tomorrow in response to her trash talking the woman he claims to love. If he doesn't put a bunch of physical space between them and firmly shut her shit down, without leaving her any wiggle room to think there's a shot for them, then he's not even meeting the bare minimum to have another chance with Hope. After that, he needs to be honest with Hope about everything that's happened between him and Pepe, and he needs to apologize for not shutting her down sooner.  Because he's basically been keeping Pepe on his hook in case he doesn't get Hope back, and, just like when he's with the Hobo, he doesn't do nearly enough to shut them up when they launch into their favorite topic with him - telling him how awful they think Hope is.

Liam is definitely going to deflect and not tell Hope the truth tomorrow. Because him telling her himself would come too close to not being about Steffy, and we can't have that. This is Steffy's story, after all.

I laughed out loud when Steffy's Husband told her that he loves the relationship she has with Liam.  When Steffy inevitably decides she needs to fuck Liam one more time before he dies, will Steffy's Husband ask her if she wants to use their marital bed or she'd rather he book a hotel for the two of them?

Deacon could be my daddy anytime. Just sayin'.

Speaking of Deacon, I know he's with Sheila and Nick is returning next month but Sean and Kelly still have IT:

Wasted opportunity.

Is Waffle Dwarf ever going to remove his sad-sack hat?

Hope, proving she's always been the bigger woman, asked a tearful Steffy if she was okay.

No way this would have happened if the shoe had been on the other foot.

So finally, finally, Hope knows the truth. AN is bringing it as always, even while swathed in 10 lbs of denim.

Steffy was decked out in leopard, including inexplicable gloves.

You just know that Hope's shock and grief will be brushed aside so Steffy can continue to hold court at the center of the dying man's universe. I'm surprised Steffy wasn't wearing a hat and veil to play the role of widow when she's no longer the wife and the ex-spouse is still very much alive.

Daphne are you kidding me?  Carter can feel bad about taking the company away from the pseudo Foresters but he can’t feel bad about betraying Hope?

Are Hope and Carter living together?  It sure seems that way when Carter mentioned that he likes to wake up in the morning next to Hope. Did I miss something?

Stuffy, maybe for the first time in a long time, you were right to tell Hope.

ETA:  If Allison Lanier is actually leaving Y&R to explore other opportunities I wish her lots of luck.  Kim Matula, Hope from The Bold and the Beautiful also left to pursue other opportunities. Kim was in a movie opposite Scott Eastwood that had her do risqué scenes but Kim’s best work was in a sit com. Kim was very funny but I can’t see Allison in a sit com and I would hate to see her doing risqué scene just to be in a movie.

Carter seems to be doing that thing where he pretends he doesn't know Pepe is into him, so he doesn't have to outright reject her, and she'll still be waiting on the bench for him to see if he gets Hope back or not. Which is, of course, a shitty, shitty thing to do to both women.  Of course, it's likely going to pay off for him when Hope pushes him aside to focus on Liam, and he can just go running right to Pepe's bed.

What in the actual fuck is Steffy wearing?  I'm not talking about the big boxy pregnancy hiding blazer. I get the reason for that, but the rest of it?  Yikes.

AN did a really good job in the moments between when Steffy started crying and finally said that Liam was dying. Just from her facial expressions, you could see that some part of Hope's brain was already connecting the dots between Liam's weird visit and Steffy's tears. She looked genuinely afraid and like she wanted Steffy to just spit it out but also didn't want to hear it at all.

Loved the way Steffy just walked right into Brooke's house. She truly has no class whatsoever.

And in the patio doors, too.  That just seems even more intrusive to me, for some reason. That's just a bit too familiar for the house of the women you attack all the time and blame for everything that has ever gone wrong in your life.

Hate Steffy, but if she went to the cabin first, she may have come in that way for that reason, as I have noticed that other characters come through that way when coming from the cabin (Hope, Donna, etc). Just a thought. Oh, and Steffy still sucks.

How great would it be if Steffy denied Liam's request to keep his condition just between them?  If she showed up to Hope's cabin unexpectedly, and Hope started reading her the riot act (which would be well-deserved) but Steffy remained completely silent.  No rebuttal.  And Hope actually looked at Steffy and saw the pain and tears in her eyes, prompting Hope to switch gears immediately to ask, with great empathy, what was wrong.  Steffy tells her and then they cry.  Together.  And hug each other as would any two people about to lose a person they both love very much.

That would be great.

They're reading this forum!

I do think they were both very good.  JMW showed real emotion yesterday and her softly asking Hope "Are we alone?" was really well done.  And AN's tremulous questions to Steffy set the stage for her crushing it tomorrow.

Technically ideas can't be copyrighted - only implementations of ideas can be protected. But that (common) misconception is  one reason many authors avoid online discussions like the plague.

If we come up with an idea, it's likely that it comes up in the writers room too. It's the Bell veto of anything fresh or interesting that irks me.** I feel like they obviously use stuff we discuss as a (wink, wink) way to throw us a bone. Which is exactly the wrong lesson they should be taking from it but what can you do? 🤷‍♀️

** not that I have any insider insight into their storyline decisions. It's inferred from the recycled stories  they air year after year.

My guess, Lilac2000, is that all the shows read all the forums to survey the likes and dislikes of the viewership - the only way a claim of plagiarism could enter into it is if they word-for-word copied into any character's dialogue anything any member of any forum had written as proposed dialogue for that character, which would be a tough claim to pursue.

I had to watch today on Paramount +. The best thing is that there are no commercials therefore it’s only 18 minutes long.

I might be in the minority but I do feel a little bad for Luna.  Being rejected by your father especially at the behest of your wife is tough to take. My wife tried but I didn’t allow it.  Luna is a killer but Stuffy has killed also.

All this time, I was sure that the Liam's sick storyline was a prelude to reuniting Steam.  Now, though, I think it's about getting Lope back together. And, I have to say, it's going to be really fucking annoying if they're still not breaking up Sinn.  Because now Steffy is the super special character who is the only one who gets a man devoted solely to her and her alone? There are like a half dozen reasons that couple should have split by now, but, nope.  Meanwhile, Steffy still has the power to fuck with other people's relationships while keeping Steffy's Husband under her iron fist.

I laughed at Finn's arms crossed, dad voice lecture to Luna. And, of course, Steffy just bursts in shrieking first, asking questions later never.

It's been so nice getting a break from Hobo and Beige.

Damn. Just damn. Liam is such a waffling oaf most of the time that I legit forget how very good SC is when he’s given material. He had me sobbing, yet again today, this time over salad, & again trying to conceal it from my coworkers. His chat with $Bill was so good & both characters elevated each other. Then, with Hope, especially that aching hug at the end…he’s killing it. Definitely hope he saves room on the mantle for his Emmy, he’s earned it, after a decade+ of a single storyline, he’s shining here.

I never saw the Pope episodes from last week, so I didn’t get to see the Hope/Steffy convo about his diagnosis, but it’s so nice seeing them being civil & acknowledging that they’re family. I know it’s all about humanitarian Steffy, but I’ll take this peace.

Wowza, get out your hankies & sanitary wipes cuz today it was tears & sap, sap & more syrupy sap.  And yet, don’t hit me with a wet noodle for sayin’ this . . .  much of it was sweet.  I liked seeing $Bill & Liam apologizing & saying I luv you.  And I even liked Hope & Steffy . . . shockers — nearly hugging it out.  Not quite, but it was close.

Ah, but then Steffy reverted back to Smuggy at the appearance of Lunatic.  And btw,  Finn should really tell Lunatic to stop calling him Dad.  It’s obviously manipulative & annoying as shit!

When it comes to Lunatictac I can't say that I don't blame Shtuffy after what Lunatictac did to her, and then didn't finish the job, but I digress. And Finn, he did tell Lunatictac that she was a grown woman and responsible for her own actions. Good for you Finn. Then she starts in with the I-take-full-responsibility BS. No she doesn't. I hope this shiny newness that has Sheila so enamored wears off and Sheila puts her in her place, gives her her just desert, or at least socks her in those hot dog fish lips. And btw, how is Lunatictac paying for her wardrobe? Since she got out of jail, and after changing from good girl into a bad psycho, she hasn't worn the same thing twice.

Call me a sap but I much prefer when folks are getting along as there are plenty of other ways to stir up the drama.

Liam and Bill. SC and DD are so amazing as father and son.

Steffy and Hope. My hat is actually off to Steffy for doing the right thing and telling Hope about Liam. As the mother of his younger daughter, she absolutely deserved to know the truth. We'll see how long the peace lasts between them.

Yeah. I have read that AN and JMW are friends IRL. I remember seeing some behind the scenes from years ago. JMW organized some fun dance parties and silly stuff for AN when she was filming those heavy, sad scenes where Hope was mourning the supposed death of Baby Beth.

During the rare times when Hope and Steffy are getting along, I pick up the friendship vibes between the AN and JMW.
