S02.E07: The Cougar in the Room

Recommended Posts

So Caroline S is so upset about the gift library that she doesn't want to shoot, but not so upset that she does anything other than sleep in. Certainly not do the decent thing and be in the office to answer questions from the soon to be unemployed staff.... But I just remembered, the people who actually do the work at that office will let the staff know, so it's probably better that the figurehead isn't around.

Caroline F, if you want to say you are a "grown up" woman, then don't blame someone else for your parents' opinion of your relationship. That she listened to Marissa say the sister asked what Marissa thought of the guy, and then repeated that Marissa had no business starting the conversation?? Apparently Marissa did NOT start the conversation! And maybe your parents learned about the boyfriend from the many photos taken of you and him?!? While I thought Marissa's comments were stupid and she needed to apologize, I am right there with her on the "how many times do I need to apologize?" Question.

It was kind of funny that Caroline S' sister was making such a point of how it is so British to love shooting, and then her sister bailed.

If the height of British "class" is. 40-something woman literally forcing alcohol down someone's throat, I am totally fine with a "class-less" American.

Juliet did kind of nail Marissa's trying to be so British by loving shooting. And jeez, even I could tell she had no idea how to handle the rifle.

As is so typical of this show, everyone talks about how Juliet is a social climber, but ignores Marissa's obvious and blatant desires to move socially upward. Of course she would be gung ho about a shooting weekend. Of course she'd make fun of Juliet for not wanting to shoot as if it's completely illegitimate to not want to shoot animals. And of course she'd be best friends with Car Fleming's sister.

Also Caroline Fleming needs to get over this mostly because Marissa complained that you were pissed to half of the women Fleming complained how pissed she was to the other half. And if your family is so inclined to believe Marissa over you, that speaks less to Marissa being a backstabbing gossip and more about how Caroline Fleming has wrecked her relationship with her family that they'd believe Marissa over Caroline.

I cannot with Julie emphasizing the t in shooting. She does it intentionally. She missed one when it was in the middle of a fast sentence. I don't get it. She does not otherwise fake an accent, so this is weird. I've noticed it in other episodes, but this one said shooting so many times it was overwhelming.

I loved seeing all the happy hunting dogs!

Why o why were Julie and Marissa taking a bath together while everyone else was downstairs waiting for them to come to dinner?

If I were in a taxi at the end of the night, I'd leave Marissa standing at the curb, too.  I find her really fake and unpleasant.  She's most obnoxious when she's painting herself as part of the "inner circle."

Was the "left at the curb" situation on camera?  I would go back and watch that.

I am glad the people here have noticed online that Mapperton is ok and does have a the full range of offsets for the manor.  They have it all from weddings to cafes and shops etc.  Hilarious that Julie (?) keeps trying to tell us that SHE needs to save the manor.

I find Marissa obnoxious in the extreme.  I like Caroline F and Annabelle.  Dislike all the Americans...maybe because they seem to be trying so hard to fit into an antiquated and hypocritical caste system.

So when Julie is not trying to "save" Mapperton, she is taking everyone on a super-expensive hunting weekend.  Which I'm sure is paid for by Bravo but still - seems to violate her storyline.  I get that Annabelle brought her friend as a "plus one" since almost everyone else came with a spouse, but how does Caroline S's make-up artist get included in this?  Does he sleep on a cot at the foot of her and Cem's bed?

I find all of these ladies obnoxious in their individual ways, but I can't hate on Marissa for showing up at the various activities and actually trying to be enthusiastic and enjoy herself.  It's called good manners, which I know are outdated on Bravo shows :)

Wait, what was the freakin' deal with that anyway?  Were they really nakey?  Er, huh?  Their hubbies are never around, so it's girl time?  OK then.

Idk, this ep was just so boring, I'll have to watch again --- maybe.  This show seems to be sinking fast,  I bet the ratings stink.

I had no problem with Marissa telling Caroline' s sister that she didn't like her boyfriend, it would be crazy weird if she didn't, everyone has stated that they are very close. I do think it's sort of weird that apparently the sister went and called her parents to repeat the news. However, perhaps Caroline should have made sure that her sister met the new boyfriend before she introduced him to Marissa.

Also, this dude is seven or eight years older than the last one so you would think if age was her family's issue they should be happy.

Also, her telling Marissa that it was all the other ladies who had an issue not her was ridiculous, she was literally staring daggers at her all weekend. Also, kudos to Marissa for taking Caroline aside so not everyone was there to continue the drama. The fact that Caroline F immediately went and started talking to Caroline S about it made her stock continue to drop.

Wait, what was the freakin' deal with that anyway? Were they really nakey? Er, huh? Their hubbies are never around, so it's girl time? OK then.

You can definitely see Marrisa black bottoms during the bath.

1. Marissa - everyone calls her a social climber, but credit where its due...if she was a social climber she would have never heckled Caroline F.  The rest of them are busy kissing Caroline F's rear end and Marissa is the only one who has ever said anything even remotely negative to her.  And Caroline F. is way too sensitive about that relationship, Caroline S made a joke about the card CF's boyfriend sent with the flowers, and the look CF gave her for the joke was so dagger cold that CS apologized for even making a joke.  Even CS kisses her rear.

1b. Marissa - however, I will say that I think Marissa went too far with her "well I wouldn't invite her to my house because I have little boys" comment.  The other comments were somewhat joking because they were over the top and a play on older jokes.  I mean I've heard the "lock up your daughters!  so and so is coming to town" joke quite a few times.  And a few of the others.  But if Marissa said that her point was to heckle Caroline F, heckling is certainly more than joking.  And the comment about how she wouldn't invite CF to her house because she has little boys was too much, too personal and hits too close to home.  I did not hear that last week at all.  I suspect that if Marissa thought she was heckling it might have been more than we heard.

2. Juliet - awww Juliet is so mad that Marissa is able to social climb better than she can.  I can't believe she actually has a blog about style and people look at it for tips....so strange.  Also strange that her husband is home for one night, they go to a fancy retreat and she basically looks homeless.

3. Caroline F.  -- getting over her real quick.  Her passive aggressive anger the entire weekend about Marissa doesn't work with her happy go lucky persona that she is working double time to sell.  And if she didn't want Marissa talking about how her boyfriend kicked her out of a cab she should have dated a guy who wasn't kicking people out of cabs.  I also agree that its not Marissa's fault for honestly answering her friend's questions....if a person has to lie about the guy you are dating in order to please you, you may be dating the wrong guy.  And sitting around trying to pick a fight with someone is absolutely ridiculous

4. Julie -- so, once again, on her mission to save Mapperton Julie has managed to advertise another estate that I would prefer visiting over Mapperton.  I mean, how many times have we seen Mapperton this season?  We've seen cousin Raif's place and now we've seen another location.  One that looks much more grand and well kept than Mapperton.

4b Julie -- oh and Julie, I don't care if you're a new school lady or an old school lady....both types COMB THEIR HAIR.  Julie doesn't have the inborn elegance to pull of a "new type" of upper crust lady.  And I am completely confused on her points about shooting.  If Mapperton doesn't have their own birds to shoot how would she be shunning the tradition by simply not doing it?  Its not like she and Luke were invited shooting and she said no, and its not like they were shooting on the grounds of Mapperton.

4c. Julie -- its also not cute, or becoming to pretend like you have no idea what a MILF is when someone tells you its a "mother i'd like to" and you keep pretending like you're such an innocent you can't figure out the F.  Ignorance is not classy, you just end up looking like a nitwit.

5. Matt -- I really do like the relationship he and Marissa have.

6. Annabelle -- I don't understand British manners, but to me, if you bring along a person no one else is really familiar with to a party you don't just abandon them with a group of people that don't know the person you brought, or abandon your friend with a bunch of people they don't know.  I can appreciate her POV in that I think a traditional shooting weekend probably wouldn't be about partying in pubs, but either come alone or accommodate your somewhat creepy friend.

7. Caroline S -- I have to wonder how truly close she and her husband are when she insists on bringing Luke to everything.  I guess maybe he is angling for a spin off or something.  Or maybe she just needed to have her makeup done.  It's getting a little odd though, doesn't he have stuff to do?

OK, so this shooting party is really at an estate turned hotel where anyone with enough money can partake, correct? Then it's not freaking aristocratic at all! THese women need to get over it, this ain't Gosford Park. You weren't invited by some Edwardian Duke  to spend the weekend shooting. Anyone with a credit card can do the same. That said, the scenery was gorgeous, the house was beautiful. More house porn please!

I'm glad Marissa cornered Caroline F and put the whole cougar-gate thing to rest. Yes, saying lock up your boys was in bad taste and she owed an apology, but she isn't responsible for her family's disapproval of her boy toy. 30 isn't exactly a baby, so I wonder if they disapprove for other reasons. BTW, Marissa's T shirt at dinner was stupid.

I have to say, I really like the husbands. THey all seem nice, and they all have manners, and aren't trying to make the show about themselves. Except, where the hell is Julie's husband? I mean seriously, are they really married? The husbands came for one night and the shoot in the morning and then left. I have a hard time believing that Mapperton couldn't spare Luke for 12 hours. Unless he just doesn't want any part of the show, so he won't go when they are being filmed. Which is odd since Julie has made "save Mapperton" her storyline this season. Strange.

ETA: I really wasn't sure why exactly Caroline F was mad at Marissa. At first I thought it was about the "lock up your boys" thing, but the more Caroline F was bitching about it, it almost seemed like she was mad at Marissa because CF's sister asked Marissa how she liked CF's new guy. Marissa said she didn't like him. It almost seemed like she was saying that's what had gotten back to the family and that's why CF was pissed. If that's teh case, that's too bad. Marissa is entitled to give her opinion if asked.

He is barely on camera and he looks so uncomfortable when he is.  I'm guessing he was firmly against anyone doing a reality show, and maybe thats why Julie was only a "friend of" the first season.  Since there are three people working to manage Mapperton (Luke, Luke's father, Luke's mother) I can't see why he absolutely couldn't be there.  Since this is such an integral part of his family's tradition.  I mean, isn't he shunning it by not showing up?

But for the small amount of time he is on camera, he seems like a nice enough guy.  I am just still confused as to why Julie has to do everything....unless she was pushy about wanting to do everything....

Why does Caroline's make-up guy go everywhere with her?

Was Julie really offended that Liam asked how many birds she shot?

These people are so odd. And gossipy.

Well, you know, Julie is a right lady and what not.

I was poised to like Caroline F until the first talking head where she chose to channel a Disney Princess and I envisioned birds putting ribbons in her hair and woodland creatures sitting rapt at her feet as she talked about how absolutely phenomenal she was.  Then she sealed it with the "therapy" session.  Since then, it's fun to watch who she really is (and there are nice parts where she's genuinely down to earth), versus where she's (not particularly convincingly) acting.

The whole thing with her family is odd.  Marissa appears to have come into this "fight" from a position of strength.  She's an established, central cast member of the show that Fleming is new to, and she already has close personal ties to Fleming's own immediate family, and from the sound of things, she's closer to some of them than Fleming is herself.  And has been for years.  Sibling rivalry, anybody?

I think Juliet is an open, grasping social climber and it's kind of cringeworthy to watch her eyes light up when she has prey in her sights.  Marissa, on the other hand, already moves in a lot of those circles (albeit possibly as the wife of the token tradesman), and seems determined to hold onto her identity as an American (Fourth of July party, Thanksgiving -- these do not seem to be part of the show but events she has held for years).  She's opening a HOT DOG restaurant.  And she wants her children to speak American, damn it!

So for Juliet to call Marissa out on social climbing?  Awkward.

Yes, that is his lot in life as her gay accessory.  He is to roll Caroline's hair & that's about it.  Indentured servant?  A Brit thing for gays to serve the rich?  Is this what the show wants us to believe?  Alrighty . . .

I think Cem is my favorite cast member. He seems cool and pretty laidback. He must see a side of Caroline (S) we don't see because, otherwise, I'm not sure how he puts up with her.

Juliet's still annoying as ever, but I'm kind of tired of Marissa criticizing her in front of others. She reminds me of my mom who corrects people in front of others. That's never not rude. Sorry, but this is a sore subject for me.

Yes, Juliet starts shit with people in the company of others, but that's because she's immature. She's likely never going to grow out of the victim role. What makes Marissa more annoying when she does it is that there's a holier-than-thou attitude coupled with her remarks. Juliet's always the victim; Marissa's just better than you.

Caroline F looked like an old lady when she was entering her hotel room at the estate. I didn't recognize her. And lol at her comment to Marissa about her not knowing a Caroline F's journey and what she's been through. Poor little rich white girl. I wish she would cut her hair because it is starting to age her. It looked especially odd from behind in the sit-down with Marissa. She looked good in the wig at bowling.

Julie's neuroses and insecurities are exhausting.

I'm wondering if his abuse of benzodiazepines left him with agoraphobia.

I think saying that Mr. Mapperton Sandwich abused benzos kind of implies it was a recreational and/or intentional thing on his part.  My understanding is that he was medically misdiagnosed and prescribed drugs as part of a treatment plan.  Then on top of being improperly prescribed drugs he didn't need, he wasn't weaned off them like you have to do with a lot of drugs, and the combination of the two things fucked up his brain chemistry pretty badly -- to the point where he was disabled and won a medical malpractice suit.  He wasn't just popping a klonnie in the evening with a glass of wine to unwind.

So, something happened in this episode that made me go "holy shit, that was amazing!" but now I can't remember what it was.  I can't decide if I want to watch it again to remind myself or not.  I think it had to do with Marissa either being especially smug or getting called out.  Maybe it was when Juliette pointed out how Marissa was especially into things that she thought were so British just to appear more British, but I don't think that is what it was.

That bath situation was weird.  Like how do you even decide that's something you want to do?  I already don't like baths, so hanging out and drinking in one for fun with a friend doesn't seem like a great idea to me.  And then they were hours late to dinner because of it?  Whatever.

Annabelle's friend was kind of weird.  I think maybe having a little too much to drink factored in.  I did, however, love how into the drama he was and him giving loud recaps at the dinner table.

I enjoyed the hunting dogs and how happy they were.  I have cocker spaniels and even though they are a long time removed from their hunting roots, I can tell that one them would be besides herself if she ever went hunting.  Her prey drive is ridiculously strong, but I'm a bad dog mom and won't spend the time training her and doing field work with her.  I do play a lot of fetch with her, hide things around the house for her to find, and take her to chase pigeons at least once a week.

I'm generally on Marissa's side with most things, but I thought it was very telling when she said something along the lines of how she missed the old Juliet even though the new Juliet was nice, easy going, and getting along with everyone.

It almost started to sound like Marissa likes having Juliet as the bad guy that is always around making her look awesome.  And she wasn't comfortable with Juliet getting along and being easy going because the more well behaved Juliet is, the more people might like her, and the less Marissa can use her as a way to always be the "nice guy" in the room.

So maybe Marissa did work to enable Juliet's bad behavior because she benefited from it.  I still hate Juliet, but if thats Marissa's game, that some pretty shady stuff.

I noticed the same thing too. It's as if Marissa needs Juliet to be really annoying so that she can show how wonderful and "normal" she is while Juliet's the unstable harridan. Well, I still think Juliet's annoying, but I think you know what I mean.

As I said, Juliet's got the victim role down pat. Right now, she's behaving (for the most part) and I'm fine with that. I won't start liking her as a result, but perhaps I'll find that she annoys me less than usual. Lol. That's a good thing.

I liked the insights into Marissa launching her business. I think that's the part of her I can tolerate. Other times I don't find her any less annoying than the rest of them. Even Julie, who I normally like, gets on my nerves with her insecurities. I still believe she's the most genuinely nice person out of that group of women. Hell, I've even warmed up to Annabelle. It's like she shows up for a clip, then goes home and avoids most of the drama. I'm sure she decided that was the best course of action this season. Smart move.

I love Cem and the headphones so that he could cancel out Caroline's whininess. There must be something about her he sees that we don't, if he went through with marrying and having children with her.

I don't think they were hours late for dinner, drinks at 7:30 dinner at 8. Caroline S just got hungry earlier and so wanted to start immediately, no one else at the table seemed put out and they appeared to arrive shortly after Annabelle and her friend. Late but not greatly. The hours comment was in regard to after the shoot, Julie and Marissa weren't at the pub at the sane time as the rest of the group.

Also what the hell was up with Julie not being to turn off her car between that and the MILF thing, I agree with Caroline S she isn't bright (though I wouldn't say that to her face).

I think Cem is the hottest husband, and that has to do with both his looks and his personality.  He seems driven, but he takes most everything in stride....although most of the husbands on the show seems to just sort of smile at their wives antics and counsel them to try to get along.  And I like that for the most part, when he makes those jokes, Caroline S. seems to find them funny.

Yeah, Bravo has managed to make them all look crazy to different degrees.  But I had never really seen that side to Marissa before, even though others saw it.  And thats exactly what it sounded like to me.  Like it bothered her that Juliet was behaving because than there wouldn't always be that person that Marissa could say "well at least I'm not as bad as her."  And I'm not sure how I feel about a friendship being based on the idea that you only want someone around so they can look so bad that they make you look good.

I think Julie is smart, but maybe she decided her reality TV persona would be goofy, forgetful, absent minded, innocent lady of the manor.  She kept talking about being this "new type" of aristocracy, but she is fooling herself.  Never will looking unkempt, and acting like a naive half-wit be okay.  The only aristocrats that can successfully pull off that level of eccentricity in the aristocracy seem to be people that have been born into it.

There is nothing really classy about not knowing how to turn off a car you've been driving, or to pretend you don't know what the F is.  I think if you were to have the same conversation with Queen Elizabeth, she would be able to figure out what the F was.  And while I can sympathize with not knowing when a push button car is on, you should be able to figure out when a car is off.

What, you don't take bubble baths in too small tubs with your friends? How gauche. ;)

And I think they were at least an hour and a half late. I believe the group planned to meet at 7:30pm (probably for drinks), before sitting down to dinner at 8. I thought I heard someone say it was 9:30pm when the group were seated at their table before Marissa and Julie arrived.

Yes, you are correct. I was sloppy with my wording. I guess I have to read more about his issues.

No harm no foul.  Sorry if I came across as scolding.  It's just one person says something on one of these forums and it snowballs into the truth.  There was a whole thing on the RHOC forum where someone made a joke about Tamara having HPV and calling it cervical cancer and it didn't take that many posts for it to become the truth.

Marissa's pseudo-girlish behavior during the shoot was annoying. "Oh is that a bullet? Did the gun go off? Did I shoot it? Is it dead? Help me!"

Caroline S. seems obsessed with herself. And also useless. The show leaves me with the impression that she married for money, her husband married for beauty (and British citizenship?), she dutifully pumped out children, and now she spends her days getting her hair and makeup done. There's just nothing there.

Caroline A.'s not smart enough to fool the cameras into portraying her fake image. She's trying for aristocratic beautiful earth goddess, but spoiled, grumpy and manipulative are peeking out. If she carries on too much about how tragic her life has been, Ima have to smack her.

I roll my eyes at "keeping people waiting for hours" on reality shows.  It's a staple for producers to purposely manipulate who shows up and when for events so as to maximize back biting and hard feelings.  Not just on housewives shows -- Penn Jillette described how on The Apprentice after a long day they'd make them all sit uncomfortably in the van and wait while they pulled somebody out for an interview, even though the hotel was within easy walking distance and had they been allowed to just make their own ways, they'd have already been in their rooms relaxing an hour or more earlier.

So I have stopped judging people on "keeping people waiting," just as I never trust an edited eyeroll or angry look. If it doesn't happen within a broader shot, it can't be trusted as a genuine reaction of that person to that specific remark/action.

Personally I saw nothing wrong with it at all.  But then I used to do the same thing with a very dear friend of mine back in college.  And horror of horrors, we even drank in the jacuzzi tub!!!  *eyeroll*

I see no difference than if they were in an actual hot tub.  You could see that Marissa had on black bottoms.  So what if they shared a hot soak after being outside in the freezing cold all day?  I'd much rather see an hour of them drinking and gossiping in hot bubbly tub together than even a second of the horror that was Gramballs and Eddie on RHoOC.

I think  my biggest "wha" moment was just in how it all went down.  I can understand if everyone is meeting up to get into the jacuzzi, that's a public place.  But I can't even imagine how the subject of the two of them together in a private tub even came up?  I might have been more understanding if it was some super amazing top of the line Jacuzzi tub, in which case it would almost be an attraction, like going to your friends balcony if they have an astonishing view.  But it looked like a regular tub that you would find in a good hotel.  So how did the subject even come up?  Because it didn't look spontaneous, it looked like Julie came over ready to get into the tub.  Did Marissa call her to take a bubble bath together in a small tub?  Like I said, that would make sense to me if the tub was some amazing model so you wanted your friend to see it and check it out too.  But it didn't look that spectacular.  And the setting just looked so romantic....the two of them in bubbles....drinking champagne......

Nothing wrong with it per se, it was just sort of a "wait, huh?" moment.

I didn't think I could dislike Marissa any more than I did, but boy was I wrong. When she whined, "god, how many times am I supposed to apologize to this woman," she conveniently forgot that her non-apology apology came prepackaged with a huge excuse that also managed to make a new dig, this time at Caroline Fleming's boyfriend. Even if he threw Marissa out of the cab, something I don't believe for a second, how does that justify her spiting Caroline F over and over again with the "lock your children" shiat? And we didn't hear a word about this boyfriend being awful to Marissa until she had to apologize to Caroline- .and then it just became a justification for her behaving badly to Caroline.  And what does she mean by insisting that she didn't "blurt it out to the whole world"? Has it escaped the smug little PR queen that bravo cameras are rolling and that anything she says before them *could* show up on the screen a few months later?

Caroline Fleming let it go..and said only that she was ready to move on, even though the trust is gone,...I hope she remembers that and sticks by it. She strikes me as a sweet, over-forgiving, non-confrontational person. At least on screen she's never appeared to go after people or score points at their expense.

I love how in the course of her apology, Marissa manages to sneak in more pr for herself, namely, "I'm in the inner circle" (of Caroline F;s family) I think Marissa is a calculating little PR machine, with an eye to the bottom line. If she's willing to go up against Caroline Fleming, then It's likely that Caroline Fleming can't or won't be a rung on the social ladder for her to climb. .

I'm curious about the rift within Caroline Fleming's family, which she says was a consequence of her divorce. Wonder what happened there..why would they support him over their own daughter/sister?

Actually I believe Marissa said in her TH last week that she didn't like CF's boyfriend because he had been rude or mean or something to her, although she didn't specify then.  And at this point no one has seen these eps yet so it didn't "get back to (CFs) family" via this show.  If I were CF I'd be having a similar fight with my sister.

As for the rift being a consequence of the divorce - that indicates to me that she was the one who wanted it, perhaps he wanted to stay together, and the family thought that's what she should be doing.  When my uncle left my aunt for another (inappropriately younger) woman, we all were on Aunt's side!

The whole thing came out of left field. I don't mind sharing a pool or a Jacuzzi with others, but what appears to be a regular (perhaps slightly larger) tub? No. For me, it's a personal space matter, but to each his or her own.

Those scenes confused me. I feel like one week two of the ladies are close to each other, then the next week two different ladies are close friends.

I didn't even realize that Julie and Marissa were close like that!  Yeah, I agree, I'm all about my personal space too -- but I realize people are different, I just can't quite understand how the idea even came to fruition.  I could understand if it was like the most amazing, luxurious whirpool that you had in the super awesome suite you got upgraded to and you wanted your friend to see it because they didn't have one in their room....but like you said, it was pretty much a tub.  And then with the champagne and the legs up on the others shoulders....it felt very "romantic weekend" like.  I mean, how does that conversation even happen?  "Hey girl, you wanna come over to my room and take a bath with me?  No, its the same tub you have in  your room, but we can have some champagne and some candles and put our legs all over each other, it won't be confusing at all"

I really thought it was hilarious to see the Carolines "eating". Caroline S was eating a bowl of baby food, and Caroline F was drowning out her hunger with a delicious lollipop. Nice.

Julie and her stressed "T"s. My God, please make it stop. "We are shooTing in the pretTy house." Please stop. I don't know if she thinks that's what British people sound like, but she's wrong.

I fast forwarded through the entire shooting thing. I have a problem with that on an ethical level and I am a vegetarian, but I don't understand why Julie can't respect her husband's "heritage" from afar. If this is something that you really feel is important to who he is and you are diametrically opposed to the act of hunting, I think that you should just hold fast to that and not just crumble. Julie just strikes me as someone who is so fragile and on the edge constantly. I also don't understand what her problem was with Liam. I guess that I am not refined enough to understand why these archaic standards are still observed to the point of worship. I'm sure I had an ancestor or two that was a matador, but that doesn't mean that I have to watch a process that I find to be repulsive and wrong.

I find Caroline F's attempt at being a light and free spirit to be hilarious. She is so bad at acting and seems like she is always "on". Oh, your laugh is so quirky! Oh, you're such a romantic! Are you sucking on a bone at dinner?? Girl, you crazy! Bitch please. I don't know if she thinks that this is the type of carefree person she has to be to keep her little boyfriend, but she's really bad at it.

My favorite part of the episode was probably Juliet was seething over the fact that no one cares about her at this moment and everyone is better at social climbing than her.

I'm pretty sure the tub scene was set up by production. Two dramas for one: the women in the tub, and keeping everyone else waiting and fuming.

The bath scene was gross, but then I hate baths. I wondered if it was Julie's idea? I'm starting to get the impression that our little Miss Sandwich studied how to be a reality tv star during the break between seasons and she's employing every trick in the book for screen time.  Then, at the same time, she is such a frickin space cadet I don't know how she keeps herself, much less four kids, alive.

lol at Caroline S being so hungry that she managed to whack herself in the face with a pat of butter at some point.

Another reason to love her. I think she is the only reality tv woman I've ever seen who actually eats bread and butter, toast/butter, a big slice of cake without acting like she's horrified at herself.  Also, Caroline's reaction to Danish Caroline's third grade love sonnet was hilarious: "Let's hope you don't break up next week." I love that she throws cold water on said goopiness without apology. Cem seems like such a nice sweet man. He must be pretty awesome if even Caroline seems to enjoy his company.

When the season started I didn't understand why some people disliked Marissa but as time progresses I am seeing why. Does she ever talk about anything other than how right she is, how awesome her life is, and how many friends she has?  Also, who is she to tell Caroline that she isn't impressed by her boyfriend? Meow. That would hurt my feelings to hear that, and it's just obnoxious. And, she should not wear her hair in a bun .... it's not flattering.

I enjoyed the settings this week. First that little British clothing shop...all warm and cozy with the nice old salesman. Plus I love all that shooting gear, the tweeds and the caps and the Hunter boots and socks. A nice change from watching women shop for short shorts and bikinis. Then Stoke was beautiful too, with the dogs and the countryside and the old pub. Very nice.

Here was my thing on that....like I get you don't want to be that girl that poo-poo's family tradition, but I don't understand how "not rejecting a family tradition of shooting" means "actively searching out a shooting weekend when my husband's family isn't invited."

Like if there was a shooting weekend the Montagues were invited to, or that the Montagues were hosting, I would understand Julie's argument.  But she went out of her way to plan a weekend of shooting that the "Montague" side of the family wasn't a part of.  That doesn't sound like "not rejecting" a tradition of shooting, but rather "actively embracing" it.  I'm not a vegetarian and so I don't have a passion one way or the other, but her argument just didn't make any sense.

Julie's over enunciation of the "t" sounds reminded me of My Fair Lady for some reason.  I guess that is something this new style of lady she is trying to be does...who knows.

LOL @ Juliet....apt observation.

That salesman was one of my favorite parts of the episode.  I'm not sure if that says something good about him, or something bad about the show, but he was a delight.

Someone clue me in on eating baby food. Was Caroline S. really eating it?

Kate Blanchette told Andy Cohen that she eats baby food too.

Is this a secret rich lady diet craze?

I remember baby food being a diet thing way back in the day....this had to have been 20+ years ago when my sister was in high school.  How funny is it for dumb diet trends to come back around......soon everyone will be injecting tapeworms (which would actually be an amazing weight loss idea if they weren't so bad for your health and impossible to get rid of)

It seems a little silly, because I was actually looking at the calorie count on a jar of baby food and it was 110 calories....for a tiny jar of what is likely tasteless food that doesn't seem like a dietary triumph.

I was under the impression Caroline S. was eating some sort of carrot soup that looked like pureed baby food...it seemed like there was a lot of it in a big bowl.

Might have been puréed carrots soup, but she was eating it with an itty-bitty spoon. I don't know if there any 30 Rock fans out there, but it reminds me of the episode where Jenna tells folks that they can sit with her while she eats her lunch - baby food eaten with chopsticks.

If I were Caroline F, I would so easily ignore any mean remark toward my dating life. She's rich, gorgeous, thin, and did I mention rich? And she's dating a guy with a huge dong that makes her giddy. If that makes her a cougar, she should own it. Her life seems a lot cooler then Marissa's.

Thats what I said!  If I were in Caroline F's shoes you couldn't tell me shit.  Although I think Marissa went a bit far in saying she wouldn't invite CF over because she had little boys....thats a bit much.

Maybe Mapperton is going to start offering shooting weekends, and this was a way to introduce the fan base to how amazing it would be.  I'm approaching just about everything Juliet does as promotional work for the estate.  And not in a bad way.

I'm no sales guru, but I feel like you aren't really selling it when you start out with "well, I'm a vegetarian, and I think shooting birds goes against everything I stand for, but....."  :)
