What I am appalled by is the fact that the case between Bobby Wagner and that loser is still a thing.  That is night and day compared to the cameraman.  More important, it's not funny.  Talking about legal stuff, I think it may be time to start filing a report against idiots that run onto the field

I don't understand why it isn't already illegal.  It should be trespassing at the very least.

And no way should that guy get any money from any lawsuit he will probably be filing.  You stick your hand in the lion's cage you should be aware you will most likely get bit.

Most people who do run out onto the field during a game are arrested and face trespassing charges.

If I'm Adams, I would take the NFL to court the second he gets that kind of suspension.  He might win there.

Probably not. The guy wasn't a fan.  He was supposed to be there.

What if it hadn't been a cameraman?  What if it had been a coach or another player?  For me the issue isn't who he pushed.  The issue is he pushed anyone. I understand his frustration but  that is not the way to deal with it.

I've read that the guy was an intern and was just carrying equipment for another cameraman. The reason I bring that up is because if Adams had hit a coach, player or cameraman employed by the NFL, there wouldn't be a police report.  The NFL likes to keep things in house.  And people who want to work in the NFL, tend to play along.

Then why hasn't he been disciplined or arrested?  BTW, I don't know if that was sincere.

The rumor is they're taking their time with discipline because the Raiders have a bye this week so they have time. He has been charged and is expected in court on Nov. 10th.  I don't know that an arrest always needs to take place.  They're not going to waste money to arrest a guy on a misdemeanor who was already out-of-state by the time charges were filed.

I do think he was sincere because it's so unlike him. He apologized in his press conference and on Twitter as opposed to issuing a clearly PR-written statement.

I can't open the links right now, so if what I'm about to post has been addressed, my fault.  Anyway, I was referring to the players filing charges (for the lack of player safety)

Agreed.  Not even a settlement.  He should be getting $0.

Merylinkid, looks like we're going to have to agree to disagree on what we discussed.  Just to be clear, I'm not happy the guy got pushed.  I think we might agree on what'll happen in terms of punishment (except for the fact that I still think it's possible the judge throws out the case).

FTR: November 10 is the court date.  I think the league might wait until next season.  I don't know if they'd want to suspend him during the playoffs or late in the season (unless it's one game).  Having reread the report, Davante is so not sincere in his "apology"

Speaking of London Goodell he wants to put an entire division in Europe.  So how is that going to work exactly? Each conference has four divisions each.  So would this new division be at large?

That’s the stupidest idea I’ve ever heard. The NFL works perfectly as it is, we don’t need more teams, and we absolutely don’t need European teams, that would throw everything off - how exactly would the schedule work out with the European teams? The NFL needs to realize things work perfectly as they are now and stop this whole European expansion, you don’t see European soccer leagues having teams in America, so why should the NFL have teams in Europe.

I heard about this.  I hate it.  It's the National Football League.  I don't mind a separate European League separate from the NFL US.  Maybe even one in Asia, Mexico, etc

Here are my predictions for this week’s games

Commanders over Bears.
49ers over Falcons.
Browns over Patriots.
Packers over Jets.
Colts over Jaguars.
Vikings over Dolphins.
Bengals over Saints.
Ravens over Giants.
Buccaneers over Steelers.
Rams over Panthers.
Cardinals over Seahawks.
Chiefs over Bills.
Eagles over Cowboys.
Chargers over Broncos.

A lot of interesting games this week - obviously Bills/Chiefs and Cowboys/Eagles are the premiere games but Ravens/Giants, Vikings/Dolphins, Broncos/Chargers and a bunch of others are interesting as well. The Thursday night game sucks though.

So Europe is the new LA?   Cities build a new stadium or we take the team to Europe?

NFL Europe fell apart, there is no way actually regular season team play will happen.   This is just talking to keep the NFL in the news and bring in the $$$$$$

Unlike last week, where I liked the Giants a lot coming into the game (Fellow Giants fan to me when I said that: "What are you smoking?"), I'm thinking this one is a loss to the Ravens.

The Ravens are a very difficult offense to defend for teams that don't see them very often. Jackson is a unique player.

The Giants do have the benefit of having the former Ravens defensive coordinator coming up with the plan for this week, but the players still need to execute it. And to be fair, the Ravens have the advantage of going against their old DC, and know how to attack his defense.

Vikings/Dolphins interests me as well. Who are these two teams right now, and how will they fare against a quality opponent?

They're not going to wait until next season to discipline Adams.  This isn't a situation where something happened off the field and the NFL is waiting until all the evidence has been gathered.  It happened on the football field.  It was filmed.

I’m a week late on this, but the teams that play in London don’t get a bye the week after anymore?  That’s dumb.

The NFL let teams choose whether or not they wanted to have the their bye after their international game. I suspect if they go to 18 games (and 2 byes) then one of the byes will automatically be after an international game.

And that's why I questioned how he hasn't been suspended yet.  Given that footage of it is available to everybody, there shouldn't be anything to "investigate".  If you want to say that the league "cannot" do anything until after the legal proceeding are complete, then that's fine.

Las Vegas has a bye, so I guess there's no rush, but nothing's stopping anyone from putting Davante on the Commissioner's Exempt List.  Unless that's only for people that whoop on their significant others and/or kids.  If so, then I guess they have to wait until December

This Thursday night game sucks donkey balls. The Bears have probably the least talented offense in the NFL, and the Commanders have the worst O-Line in the NFL, and neither team is any good. Just really poor play all around from 2 teams who are going nowhere - the Bears are rebuilding and have got to decide whether Fields is worth keeping, and I’m not sure what the Commanders are doing or where they’re going.

Why was there a truly unfunny “comedian” bleating terrible jokes at me during halftime?  He was paid cash money to do a show on a regular basis?

That was former SNLer Tarran Killam...and, yes, I agree, he was awful. I'm not sure what was worse- Killam's lame jokes, his constant smirking in front of the camera, or whatever it was the producers there called a "laugh track".

Here is where I'll agree to disagree: the length of a suspension.  At least four games?  Doubtful.

Well, OK, maybe four games is too much. I just don't think the only discipline that Davante Adams will get from the NFL will be just a fine. It'll be a suspension and a fine, at least.

I have said this many times about a European team:

At 8:30PM, it will be anywhere from1:30AM (London/Dublin) to 4:30 AM (Armenia) depending on where the team is situated. Now, I don't care how many diehard fans live in those cities- there is absolutely no way that you can hold a game in Europe at the times the NFL loves staging their primetime contests.

A European team or a conference will require rethinking how the NFL does its primetime contests, which are supposed to be its "signature" contests. I suppose the NFL could make "Sunday Morning Football" a thing which would work better with European times but I don't know how well it would work in North America.

...and that's just one of the many, many, many issues that will crop up with a European team. Unless you've got a slam dunk for a team in a European market, I can't see how the process would be more trouble than it's worth.

One other thing about a European conference- watching a game like this and it's patently obvious there isn't enough talent to feed 32 NFL teams, so I can't see how they'll stock four or eight more. I've heard suggestions that teams could move to Europe instead, but do we really have four or eight teams that can be moved?

Oh, and WE HAVE A TOUCHDOWN ON THURSDAY NIGHT! Unless you're a Commander fan (or the TNF production crew that almost missed catching it), this is a truly joyous, historic moment.

The only funny part was seeing Kyler Murray on his highlighter green suit.

Hey now the game is getting interesting! Bears fumbled and Washington got the ball on the Bears' 8-yard line. And Commanders score! Robinson scored, he is the player who was shot twice earlier this year. But they should have just gone for the field goal, not a 2 point conversion.

You could take the worst team in each conference and have a European Losers League.

They could do it like they do with soccer where there are different tiers.  And the winner of the division can "graduate" out of the European league to be replaced by the worst team Stateside.

Then Ryan Reynolds and the Always Sunny Guy can do a documentary about it for Hulu.

You gain 392 yards and outgain your opponent by 170 yards and LOSE 12 to 7 ......that's hard to do

Commanders had more yards per rush than yards per pass.

Last two weeks on Thursday night. 40 total points and two total TDs combined. In 135+ minutes of play, one even went to overtime.

We have the seen the outrage when a team moves to a different city. Can you imagine the outrage if they moved teams to different country?

Trying to make American football in Europe a thing is just stupid.  Goodell is going after fans at the expense of the fans the NFL already has.  Out of the teams playing in London this year Vikings, Giants have nine games at home.  Saints, Packers, Broncos have eight and Jaguars have seven.  So season ticket holders in NO, GB, Denver and Jax got screwed out of a home game right?

Man, that is sad.  There are teams that average 40 a season.  Actually, they don't, but 40+ in a half (close to it or just after 60 minutes) is what people want to see.  So much for pivoting to an offensive era.

I do like a defensive battle meaning low scores are okay.  I didn't watch as mentioned, so I missed nothing.  However, it didn't sound like a defensive battle between Washington & Chicago (or Denver & Indianapolis the preceding week)....just a couple sloppy teams that can't even use the excuse of playing on a short week

And at the other end of the viewing spectrum, the London games start at 6 am out West here.  Is Goodell trying to grow a nonexistent European fan base at the expense of the American one?

Putting aside your favorite team, because we tend to remember those we root for, is there a better-known group of players than Reggie White, Seth Joyner, Clyde Simmons and Jerome Brown (and Mike Golic Sr.)?  Like I was only a couple years in to watching football and didn’t care anything at all about the Eagles, but I remember those d-linemen.

Yeah.  The Fearsome Foursome.  Merlin Olsen, Rosey Grier, Deacon Jones, and Lamar Lundy.  Hate the Rams, but they were scary good.

As a lifelong Packers fan, I will never, ever think of any Chicago Bears team or player as "beloved."   I wouldn't say I hated that team, but beloved?   Nope.

The 85 Bears stomped my G-men on the way to that SB win, so no, they're not beloved to me, either.

I respected Payton as a player, especially how he simply tossed the ball to an official after scoring.

I was at the Hall of Fame game the year Payton went in.  At the game, they drove that year's inductees around the field as the crowd applauded.  The Packers were playing in that game.  Many of the Packers came over and were shaking Payton's hand, and we joked that Payton was saying thanks for all the yards.  Those years when Payton was at his best, the Packers defenses were terrible.
