cooksdelight August 17, 2015 Share August 17, 2015 When a dog trainer is found dead at home, her champion Rottweiler is the prime suspect. As the team investigates this unlikely killer, Maura has a peculiar interaction with Kent. Link to comment
Bastet August 19, 2015 Share August 19, 2015 I knew as soon as the dog refused the food and started barking as the owner ate it that it was poisoned, and I knew as soon as I saw the placement of the bite marks Duke had tried to pull the owner out of the pool. I also knew one of the fellow show dog loons would be implicated, but a red herring. That the one daughter would have been the one who wanted to kill the dog out of jealousy over Duke. When all this played out halfway, I figured it was the other daughter, but decided that was too obvious – even for this show – and would leave Duke alone. So I went back to the neighbor, because there was no way we’d just see her for such a short time. Zero mystery in this episode, except why the new guy kissed Maura, which I knew was not for the usual reason but wasn’t sure why. Why did Jane leave her boots on when trying on the dress? Wouldn’t she have taken them off to take her pants off? 1 Link to comment
Aliconehead August 19, 2015 Share August 19, 2015 I figured it was the neighbor as soon as it was mentioned that all the neighbors had to sell or none of them would get the money. But was all very predictable 2 Link to comment
DropTheSoap August 19, 2015 Share August 19, 2015 Neighbor wanted the money from selling her house. House wouldn't sell unless all houses sold, including the victim's house. Victim didn't want to sell. Neighbor knew daughter planned on killing the mother, so neighbor decided to do a better job of killing mother, and figured blame would fall on daughter. Link to comment

Clanstarling August 19, 2015 Share August 19, 2015 The mystery was elementary (but NOT Elementary). I like your theory, TeapotDiva. Angela seemed more annoying than ever to me. I'm not sure how grown people who are not your kids would succumb to that manipulative BS. Frankly, if a friend revealed anything I'd asked them not to, that friendship would be on thin ice if that happened. 6 Link to comment
Scamp August 19, 2015 Share August 19, 2015 Why did Jane leave her boots on when trying on the dress? Wouldn’t she have taken them off to take her pants off? Jane left her boots and socks on in a throwback to "Don't Hate the Player" (season 2, episode 5) in which Jane and Maura trade clothes. Or so this shipper thinks. http://media.tumblr.com/tumblr_mf5a9flco61ralk4y.jpg One more episode next week. Scamp August 19, 2015 Share August 19, 2015 For all that R&I brags it has a former BPD homicide detective on staff, the show is rife with errors. A detective who accesses criminal records for personal purposes (like Jane's blackmailing the condo board) would be fired. How did the murderous neighbor obtain medical grade strychnine? If the daughters argued loudly in the back yard, why didn't their mother hear their murderous intentions toward the dog? 1 Link to comment
Latverian Diplomat August 19, 2015 Share August 19, 2015 So, was Susie killed off to make room for Kent? If so, I think that was a mistake, and this week's "planting one on your boss as an evasive maneuver" is one reason why. 7 Link to comment
Scamp August 19, 2015 Share August 19, 2015 I have to ask the question that’s on all of our minds. Were you and the cast aware of Susie’s death going into the sixth season or did it come as a surprise later on? “I actually did. Jan and everybody at TNT handled it so professionally. I knew pretty early on but of course I didn’t want to spoil it for the fans and that was a really difficult secret to keep under wraps. The Susie character is such a fun lovable character that Jan Nash (the show runner) is very, very sensitive about. She called me and we were all really upset to see this character go. At the same time I think the story opens the world up to interesting story lines for the other characters to go through that grieving process. I knew pretty early on. The writers and directors of the episode called me and we all spoke privately.” http://talknerdywithus.com/2015/07/21/exclusive-interview-with-tina-huang/ So far we haven't seen any grieving (except for that bizarre dance party. We haven't even heard Susie's name. As for Kent Drake, there seems to be no reason for him to be on the show except to annoy Maura. I hope there's more to him than that. And I hope they mention Susie, once in a while. 4 Link to comment

I have been told that there are fantasy porn sites that begin a scene with that same setup. 1 Link to comment

I have been told that there are fantasy porn sites that begin a scene with that same setup. Mine too! Even though I knew there was no chance it was going in a truly sexy direction, I had that same 'ooh...' reaction. I watch too much TV. As for Kent Drake, there seems to be no reason for him to be on the show except to annoy Maura. I hope there's more to him than that. And I hope they mention Susie, once in a while. I think Kent's purpose is to show Maura's role in the lab and as a boss. She has had several interactions with him, including the one in her office this ep, that we've never seen anything else like from her. She was a pro with him through the entire kiss situation and resolution. I even liked the resolution from the kiss. The awkwardness was cleared, she was upfront with the rules and her position, and he went back to messing with her again which may irritate her, but obviously does not offend her. I'm not sure how seriously I take his remark about dating within the police department. That might be because in the back of my mind I still kind of ship Kent/Maura if it didn't mean we would have to lose boss!Maura which I adore. But while I think he might possibly have his eye on a cop, I think he was mainly trolling her about her relationship with Jane, and was just generally messing with her to get things back into his comfort zone. I also really liked how she dismissed his behavior to Jane as him just being weird. What really happened was, and should be, between him and his boss. There are things that cross the line, even between best friends. I was sad when Jane said she couldn't decorate her apartment too. Jane owns so many identical t-shirts that she had no sadness over the loss of her wardrobe. Let Maura help Jane!! In other news, they are just trolling us now with Nina and Frankie. The case sucked but I liked seeing dog lover Korsak. As for the condo, I enjoyed Jane being SO prepared. The condo may be awesome but they people sound horrible though. I did like that Jane didn't even ask how much the couture dress wore. Maybe she's learned that all the answer will do is stress her. 2 Link to comment

BooksRule August 19, 2015 Share August 19, 2015 (edited) When Korshak was arguing on the phone with animal control about keeping the dog alive, I had a flashback to the old episode of 'Bones' where Tempe wanted to adopt the dog that had been wrongly accused of killing someone, but she found out (after she bought a collar and leash) that it had been euthanized because it was considered to be a vicious animal, although not a killer. I was afraid that he would want to adopt Duke and then find out that it had been put to sleep. I'm glad Duke had a happy ending. I was also pleased that they didn't go with the usual 'cop adopts now-orphaned dog' (and we don't usually see the dog ever again). Edited August 19, 2015 by BooksRule Link to comment

sinkwriter August 20, 2015 Share August 20, 2015 Zero mystery in this episode, except why the new guy kissed Maura, which I knew was not for the usual reason but wasn’t sure why. I figured it was because he didn't want to have to tell the parents their daughter's cause of death, but the mystery for me was why he was so troubled about it. I mean, I figure it's got to be one of the hardest parts of the job, dealing with grieving family members, but I figured he had to have some special reason for hiding from the task for so long. I like that Maura went with him to the parents' house and helped him work through it. And I'm glad that he's not actually interested in her romantically - I just don't see them as a good fit. If he were interested in Jane, however, that might be pretty comical. Especially since she seems to find him so weird. LOL. 1 Link to comment
Scamp August 20, 2015 Share August 20, 2015 (edited) I was fine with Jane's wearing the va-voom dress for her condo interview, but she should have changed into her cop clothes after. Oh for the days of season one, when Detective Crowe would have catcalled her with something like this: "Hey, Rizzoli, you undercover as a call girl?" As Jane Rizzoli replied then, "How is it you are still single?" I have now seen Kent's name shipped with nearly everyone on R&I. Except Angela. OMG, they might even do that as silly as the show is at times. Speaking of silly, TNT's R&I Facebook page has many negative comments regarding the dog show and rabies testing. Almost every week, I wonder if they have Google in the writers' room. Edited August 20, 2015 by Scamp 1 Link to comment

Just one nitpick. The neighbor knew the daughter planned to harm the dog. Neither daughter wanted to hurt the Mom. Neighbor just decided to off the Mom and make it look like the daughter who intended to harm the dog did it. Kent's good qualities Jane mentioned he had all his teeth While it's possible I'm misremembering, I seem to recall a long ago bantering session between the two about men without all their teeth. I think the line was a throw back to that. 1 Link to comment

Bastet August 22, 2015 Share August 22, 2015 I assume the "I burned it" was just to tease Maura.
