He really is an awful liar has a hard time explaining himself and I see he has gotten himself into a situation that is over his head . I think I've settled on only Christian Slater being unreal. He's the part of Elliot that is consumed by anger at his father but also wants revenge on the Evil Corp. that killed him. So he vacillates between wanting to take down E Corp and essentially crash and burn contemporary capitalist society and feeling moral compunctions about doing so. 2 Link to comment

Fsociety's finally over. Everything good from the otherwise neat reality I created over the years... I'll never slip up like that again. I'm going to be more normal now." And then it cuts to something out of the USA brand blue sky shows like White Collar. Ha! Seeing Elliot standing there with Starbucks coffee all peppy about his boss's party-- that's a weird trip... but not as weird as the show Tyrell is in. It's like American Psycho meets 50 Shades or something? Now that the E-Corp CTO is connected to Elliot's father's leukemia, Elliot has a strong motive to frame him, which points more to the Elliot = Mr. Robot theory. The way people seem to ignore Mr. Robot even when he's speaking very loudly strongly suggest that he's not real. I was happy to see the brief appearance of Spangler from Rubicon-- especially after all the comparisons this show gets to Rubicon. I was so sad when it was canceled. 5 Link to comment

I don't know who is Evil Corp, who is Fstop, or whatever, and what each of them want. I would like to see Elliott get off of drugs. Has he been diagnosed with a personality disorder? I would also like to see him making real progress in counseling, if for no other reason but to see Gloria Reuben more. This is a good summer show. I'm pretty sure it was Swedish, but I've only completed Unit 1 of Rosetta Stone Swedish, so it could be some other Scandinavian language, they all sound alike. With the high percentage of screen time spent on violence this week (too much for me) the show seemed to veer over even further into Fight Club territory, but Christian Slater is not playing (IMO) Elliot's alter ego so much as filling the gap left by the loss of his father--both emotionally and physically.Why did they cast and dress Shayla and and the FSociety girl to be so similar? He has psychically spun him off and believes that Robot is another, real person. But Elliot as Elliot does know that the reveal about Colby's complicity in the deaths of his father and Angela's mother will put renewed suspicion on him, which is why he ran from the party in distress. I also think it's easy for us knowing what we know to suspect Elliot. But it would be much harder for Gideon to deduce that Elliott planted the .dat file to get revenge against Colby because Colby was in on concealing the leukemia risk and that risk killed his dad. Heck, I think that Elliot himself didn't know that Colby had personal involvement in concealing the leukemia risk. (And it may be that he didn't, and Elliot/the hackers faked the memo) I really hope they aren't going down the "Mr. Robot is Elliott's mental projection" angle. Coupled with the anti corporate sentiment and the plot to eliminate global debt, it'd be hitting way too many "Fight Club" notes too on the nose. Sorry, but there is basically zero chance that Mr. Robot is a real person. Just in this last episode alone, walking into All Safe with no permission, talking pretty loudly and profanely and not drawing any attention. I just don't see how he could be real. 4 Link to comment

Also, was that Randy Harrison playing Gideon's boyfriend?? I just about dropped my coffee when he appeared on screen. I never thought he'd have another TV role after publicly trashing QaF. I'm probably in the minority here but I'm glad that they aren't just dropping the drug use storyline. It adds another level of unreliability to Elliot, which (for me) makes things all the more interesting. After this episode, I'm convinced that only Christian Slater is imaginary. I guess all their conversations take place inside Elliot's mind... otherwise we'd have a lot more reaction shots from people like the receptionist, the bartender, etc. 1 Link to comment

In just the span of one day (and night, I guess), he beats up a hobo (at least he paid him: he's all about capitalism!), has sex with a guy in order to get access to his phone, and then comes home to have some nice bondage time with his pregnant wife. I wouldn't be surprised if that's a normal Wednesday for him! I thinking it's more and more likely that Christian Slater/Mr. Robot is a figment of Elliot's imagination, but I'm starting to think everyone else in FSociety is real though. It certainly looks like Darlene is real, since Shayla acknowledged her. And Shayla's obviously real, since all of Elliot's working colleagues acknowledge her. The only other option would be everyone is just in Elliot's head, but I really hope they don't go that far off the deep-end. Gideon still seems to be suspicious. Have a feeling he's going to wind up in trouble. Ollie is being bribed by rapper hacker, to install the computer in the company's mainframe, or they'll release all the info. He at least tell Angela about the affair, but she's now more worried that the hacker got her and her dad's bank info and social security numbers, so she's freaking out. I hope she's up to something, and isn't just going to forgive Ollie. Especially after all the times he has the audacity to get pissy at her for hanging with Elliot. The "bug-free" montage, with "Carefree Elliot" amused me. That's why he was back at the office checking on the server again at the end of the episode, I thought Gideon knows something is different about Elliot. He's showing up late for work with cuts and bruises. He has a "girlfriend". He withheld information about the file. And (this is the clincher) he is drinking Starbucks. All of that started after the Evil hack. So it's not unreasonable for him to assume it's all related. I agree that Gideon has reason to suspect that something is off. However, to come to the conclusion that Elliott hacked Evil Corp, stopped the hack for whatever reason, planted the .dat file to implicate Colby and that he did so in order to get revenge on Evil Corp because it gave his dad leukemia and on Colby specifically because he was one of the suits who let it happen requires a lot of leaps of logic based on what we have been shown that Gideon knows and the inferences he can draw from that. Here's what I think it's safe to say Gideon knows: Elliot is weird and socially awkward, but he's usually more on top of things than anyone else. Elliot was instrumental in stopping the hack of Evil Corp. At a meeting with Evil Corp, Elliot for the first time revealed he found a dat file associated with the hack. Normally, Elliot would/should have brought that up before the meeting. Asked about this, Elliot has given an evasive answer that boils down to him being uncertain about what he had with the dat file. Elliot has cuts and bruises that he has explained by being clumsy. There is a group of hackers called fsociety making ridiculous demands of Evil Corp. fsociety has released information claiming that Colby buried the leukemia risk of whatever it was doing. Angela and Elliot both have relatives who died of leukemia thanks to Evil Corp. I think it's too soon to know if Gideon is continuing to check a) because of general analness b) because he thinks there's something fishy about Elliot generally or c) because he suspects Elliot of having planted the .dat file, being involved with the hack, etc. etc. 4 Link to comment

However, now that I have read the comments here, that makes sense. Or in Elliott's head it makes sense anyway. I think Darlene has to be real though, since Shayla interacted with her in Elliott's apartment. Gideon is totally Mr. Keaton! 1 Link to comment

I don't think I've ever seen that depicted before, even in male-female sex scenes. idk why im usually indifferent to gay sex but for some reason i found that scene a little more gross than the ordinary . the bdsm was also kind of disturbing and funny thing is i like bdsm but everytime i see it it looks like some borderline rape/dubious consent type shit and im like ughhh noooooooooo thanks Link to comment
