The whole chase scene was the most exciting part of the show so far, with all the buildup being worth it when we finally see THREE of them teaming up to save another. I can only hope the numbers increase from here as they learn to pool their various talents.

I am also really am enjoying Sun's prison scenes as well.  Is it a sad thing that she is happier and probably making more friends then she ever was outside?

And seeing more of the world. She's probably freer in confinement than she's been her whole life.

Wow, that chase scene was AMAZING. So thrilling. Edge of my seat, heart racing, the whole shebang.

These characters are really working for me. Props for making me interested in an Indian love story as much as characters running for their lives (especially considering I was expecting more fight or flight than straight up drama from this show before I started). It's just beautiful to look at and the music is fantastic. Even smaller moments feel bombastic at times. I haven't seen anything from the Wachowskis other than The Matrix (only read mostly negative stuff) but they've hit a homerun with this.

Daryl Hannah got a pretty cushy job with this considering she's a regular without basically any scenes at all.

That's what I love about this show—being torn about whether you are going to marry is as real an emotional stress as a physical danger. And because all the senates are empathic with each other, they take each other's pains very seriously. It's the very best kind of found family.

So, Lito doesn't seem to be having as much connection with the others and everyone else. Outside of the orgy, has he really had a strong connection with anyone?

There's a very good scene later in the season, but

he definitely seemed to be the most insulated of the group to me.

Will, "Van Damme", and Sun all teaming up to help Nomi escape was awesome!  I'm glad that we are slowly, but surely, seeing the eight team up more, and I hope that it only gets better.  Glad Nomi made it, although I bummed that it required to leave Neeks behind for now.  At least Neeks provided a solid distraction.  Even the toughest federal agent can't handle a "used tampon" being thrown at him.

Sadly though, there was also a lot of depressing things going on too.  Lito's life has now been completely screwed, without being exposed.  Daniella has gone back to her boyfriend, who already back to his abusive ways.  And Hernando can't accept that Lito is just going to allow to his to happen, so he's just broke up with him.  Lito's going to have to do something, or he's going to loose the closest person to him.  But will it be his love for Hernando or his career, that ends up winning.

Van Damme has now bee approached by a rival criminal gag, who want him to kidnap the girl, or they might harm him or his mother. He's refusing for now, but I worry that this will end up being no mere threat.

Kala has to watch her fiancee's father die in front of her, after he made the mistake of talking to her at the temple that his company is trying to destroy.  Bad idea, man.  And, it sounded like he wanted to end their engagement, but I'm guessing she'll now stay with the fiancee out of sympathy and not wanting to come off heartless.

Wolfgang's partner is still alive, but not looking good.  The flashback to how they met was good.

Will's now suspended do to all his secret investigations and antics.  At least  he got to mentally make-out with DJ Riley, so he's got that going for him.

Who knew Sun in prison would be one of the happier moments?  Taking out the Prison Bully and her gang was awesome, and I like her friendship with the fellow inmate.  Which means, I'm already worrying about that inmate's well-being.

Lito is probably the best at compartmentalizing the different parts of his life, so it isn't surprising that he's essentially been able shut it out and not acknowledge, even to himself, that anything is happening.

That's interesting you say that because I've found Wolfgang and Kala to be the most isolated of the group. Outside of the orgy have we seen Wolfgang or Kala interact with anyone besides each other? Lito had that chase scene thing with Will episode 4 was it? And episode 5 was basically Sun and him feeling each other's pain (or at least he felt what she was going through for sure) and they also had that moment with the intercutting of her getting her prison physical while he was being interviewed.

Does it bother anyone else how quickly Will is getting into trouble for this whole investigating business? It didn't seem like his dad's friend would have turned him in for the "trying to see Jonas" thing but yet he got reamed over that and his partner is with him in the church/van investigation but only Will's getting in trouble and suspended? I see some BPO influence there like they're on to him and trying to isolate him. Some stuff is his sensate trouble (the bar freakout) but I don't think all of his trouble is because of that. I feel like there's a bigger hand at work.

I loved the chase scene. That was fantastic and I liked seeing Capheus at the end. He hasn't really had a whole lot of interaction with the others either, mainly just Sun and Riley (and momentarily Will in ep 3) so to see him pop up again to help Nomi was great.

I noticed the same thing. I'm having a hard time connecting with them because they seem to live in their own bubble, and what's so fun about this show is seeing the unique ways each Sense8 connects. I think my favorite connections is between Will and Nomi as they investigate in tandem. That chase scene was incredible.

Yeah, wow the chase scene. I know the area so I was yelling at her to watch out for the car and then to get to the bridge! Then when Van Damme popped into the car I cheered out loud.

"I don't know how to drive!"

"I do!"

The surprise of it was the best part. Capheus is just like 'oh, a chase scene, sweet.' I enjoy watching the characters getting used to this. A new person pops up and it's just normal now.

And I've finally learned all 8 names!

I think the break up from Hernando was about more than Daniella. It was probably also about Lito putting his career before him. I think that was what he meant when he said Daniella reminded him of things he had tried to ignore because he felt so strongly for Lito.

Also the director seemed to know Lito and Hernando are something else than friends. He was like Your ... friend is here.

Overall so far I find the plot progression a bit too slow but I find a lot to like in each episode. I do think though that it was a wasted opportunity not to have every character speak their own language. The sensates could still understand each other. I think that the Mexican plot and Korean one especially would have benefited from being in the right language. I don't know if they didn't do this because of audience reasons or because the logistics of script and directing would have been more difficult.

I think both.  There are a lot of people who don't care for subtitles (since I use Closed Captioning, I'm not one of them) and they may not have wanted to risk losing that audience.  And the logisitics are already crazy -- since local crews were used, having a Mexican crew have to deal with a German-speaking actor (when Wolfgang "visits" Lito) would be a thousand times harder.

I think this gives a good explanation, why they use English on the show: Handling foreign languages and dialects on Sense8,

Multilingual shows or films can work, although it can be tough to follow a number of languages via subtitles. Aside some possible production challenges (the writers are not multilingual, rewrites on set, while filming happen, so would need translators at hand any time, the actors would have to learn to notice their cue in different languages), it makes for Sense8 even some sense. As I see it, we as audience are not outside observer of the events but seeing the story from the point of view of the characters. That's why at the beginning the story seems quite messy, the characters don't know what's going on, neither do we. Unfortunately we don't have sensate abilities in real life or something like a babelfish in our ears, so we don't automatically understand other languages unless we learned them over some time. To emulate the sensate experience it makes sense to stick to one language, and seeing that the writers are native English speakers, and that English is a language spoken and used globally, it makes sense to use English (there are though dubbed version available in German, French, Spanish, but then all is dubbed). Add that the show is with following 8 main characters already quite complex, doubt that a multilingual production would have done good for the story telling nor for audience reception.

They established in the first episodes, that the sensates are speaking in their own languages, but are able to understand each other and speak the languages of the other with ease the more they became connected.

Is Dr. Matheson (the one who came to Nita's mother's door with the police) the same one whose face was reflected in the mirror when the lobotomized patient killed himself in the last episode after killing Dr. Metzger? And is this Dr. Matheson also the same one who was talking menacingly to Daryl H.'s character in the first episode?

Oh, Lito, you naively optimistic dumbass. He really thought that Daniela getting her phone back would fix everything? First of all, Joaquin would be an idiot if he hadn't already saved that photo somewhere else. Secondly, even if he no longer had the picture, he could still start a rumor about Lito being gay and that would be enough to ruin him.

As soon as Daniela called, Hernando knew that she was in danger, and later he knew she was wearing sunglasses at night (like Corey Hart!) because Joaquin had hit her again. Daniela started off as an obnoxiously annoying and self-centered, but the fact that she was willing to sacrifice herself in order to keep Lito's secret means that she wasn't just a a shallow brat.

I am still freaked out by what happened on the set of The Crow so if I were Lito, I would be afraid that Joaquin was going to have someone switch out the blanks in the guns on set. Lito's outfit in the cemetery scene was crazy!

Poor Hernando. It's not just that he has realized that Lito is willing to let Daniela suffer in order to keep his career safe. He has been ignoring the fact that Lito is putting his career before his relationship with Hernando. Before that dinner with Daniela, apparently Lito and Hernando never went out in public together. I can't imagine living like that. It's not even that I'm a PDA type of person who wants to make out in public either. Think about all the things you do in public with your friends, family, significant other, and everyone else you know - going to the grocery store, amusement parks, the mall, restaurants, sporting events, concerts, festivals, getting coffee, taking walks, etc. Hernando never gets to do any of that with Lito. I think the restaurant episode was the first time we ever saw Hernando outside of the apartment.

I knew it was just a matter of time before Sun got into a fight in prison. Of course the guards didn't bother to intervene until the fight was over.

I laughed when Diego found Gorski making out with invisible Riley.

Loved Will, Sun, and Capheus teaming up to help Nomi escsape from the cops! Of course, the practical side of me was thinking about what a huge pain in the ass it must have been to close down multiple streets in San Francisco to shoot that chase scene. Love that there were some obvious landmarks visible.

So now we know that Dr. Matheson is Whispers.

Not at all surprising that Wolfgang's father was an abusive asshole. Loved what a scrappy badass little Felix was. I hope he survives and heals. Wolfgang doesn't seem to have any real friends or support besides his BFF.

I love that Kala deliberately said she wanted the next wedding at the Ganesha temple. Rajan didn't seem bothered by it but his father thought that was enough of a reason to call off the wedding? I'm glad the stabby guys didn't hurt Kala. I was afraid they were going to find her guilty by association (or a witness to murder) and stab her a few times for good measure.
