Sweet Fellowship: Duggars and Friends (aka the Bates Family and Other Featured Families Thread)

Message added by Scarlett45

If a person/family was never featured on any of the Duggar shows, and is not related to the Duggar family by blood or marriage, they do not need to be discussed here..

We may all agree that David Rodriques is quite unfortunate looking, but let's refrain from comparing human beings to apes, its got way too much of a loaded history- please review the new Inclusion Policy updated May 1, 2022 , which details guidelines around discussing body type, capabilities, physical appearance etc. Additionally, using body size as an insult is not allowed.

I've learned a lot about cooking in the 22 years we've been married, but I don't think I've ever come across a potato looking so, so, laden with road salt before 🧂

Instead of finding out how many "souls" she saves at her little prison camp retreat, I would be more curious about the number of women she gets to sign up for Plexus...the other pink meat.

i don't think she gets many new ones. I think her downline stays the same tbh. she hasn't moved up in rank in years.

Jill posted a new reel. we can see her practically empty pantry and Jill running around uninjured knee looking for Janessa. Sofia is still dragging around and sucking on a rag.

what a sad existence for her precious children.

I dont begrudge a child for self soothing but isn't she getting a bit to old for that? Poor kid.

The new footage of “hide and seek” brings up a few questions like:

Why is everyone barefoot (and the girls bare legged) while Jill appears to have on tights and slipper boots?

Why are so many lights on?

Why is the pantry so bare?

… parental priorities don’t seem to matter even though you have children who look malnourished and it’s winter and they don’t even have socks on their feet. Also, why are you playing hide and seek AT NIGHT?!  If I lived there I’d be sucking on a blanket too!!

The $355 is for two nights. But they're on their own for meals until Friday dinner. That's pretty spendy.

There’s a price for Thursday and Friday night and another for just Friday night,  Her retreat starts Friday evening, but I guess some ‘ladies’ want to come  a day early.  Probably to go see those stores in ‘nearly walking distance’.

Gabriel is still playing at his age. The one who needs glasses looked in a place that not even a dog could fit. A little starving sad girl is sucking her thumb. And Janessa appears to be hiding in her room that has a converted crib still. Plus the pantry only has peanut butter. No jelly? No bread? This is at 11 o’clock at night, and the girls are still in full make up. WTF is going on in this house? I see the map is down, so hunk must’ve gone to bed already.

I guess this must be Dugger time. What, do you keep the kids up all night so you can sleep in the morning? And now two of them suck rags. Janessa and Sophia, the super sick looking one?

  • Sad 14

I can’t imagine living in that house. Between the odd Easter dinner and weird Hide & Seek game, everything just feels strange. Shrek probably was in bed watching the map there so the kids (and Jill who thinks she’s a kid too) could run around and make noise.

Red potatoes. Isn't that the most scrumptious presentation?

How do you make red potatoes come out grey?   I just .... this one only knows how to cook food to greyness or leave it raw.   There is no in between.

Maybe the kids really do prefer fasting to eating her food.

Isn't Sofia 9 or 10 years old?  Poor little waif, so sad to see.

The potatoes are called "salt potatoes" and are apparently a regional specialty of Syracuse, NY. Jill grew up not far away in Rochester.

Google images of Salt potatoes and that's exactly what they look like. The salt in the water makes a crust on the potato skin.

I googled and they look better than what she posted.

Imagine what those poor little girls could be doing in the sinful world? Soccer, gymnastics, cheer (oh so way too slutty), Girl Scouts. Instead, they’re running around late at night, barefoot, sucking rags and staring at all the peanut butter.

Or for that matter the older boys. So many opportunities for outside activities. Even for the homeschooled kids. I’ve known people that homeschool and still have their children in lots of activities. Or they share homeschool duties according to the parents’ specialty. If one mom can’t do math, you can connect with better people. Too dangerous to go on a field trip, even with other homeschoolers. Someone might pass them a sandwich and a juice box.

Prepared correctly, salt potatoes are delicious. You have to use very tiny new potatoes, boiled just until tender and served with a small bowl of melted butter for dipping. Trust Jill to turn a tasty regional delicacy into a ghastry mess.

It looks like Jill has an animal stuck on the back of her head. Or maybe that’s a clump of salted potatoes. Ha

and none of her precious children or husband told her she looks like a rat is making it's home for the winter in her hair.

But I bet any dish Jill makes can make the regional "garbage plate" somehow look .... worse.

(FWIW, I love me a garbage plate when visiting Rochester!)

They can't say anything but how perfect and wonderful she is.  Or Jill sulks until they placate her with stuff.

The back of Jill's head is tragic.  But I have a question about how long hair in general is styled today, most exaggeratedly among the fundies--  Just what is the back of one's hair supposed to look like when the hairdo consists of the whole head of hair pulled to the front and draped  in two streams down the front of your hoodie blouse?

Sweater dress overcoat (jumper) meet denim vest jacket.

Jill's overuse of words rivals Kaylee's overuse of commas.

Jill needs a job where she's paid by the word. She'd be able to fill her pantry with enough food to feed her children.

She would still not feed them enough. But she & Dave would eat out more often!

Jill has posted a few more offerings for the IvoryEcru, etc boutique. They aren't as heinous as prior stuff. Even the kid's outfit, as modeled by Olivia, isn't horrible. But the jacket is better suited to an 8 year old, not a young teen.

Hurry if you want any of Jill’s inventory. She’s going to be putting it in “vacation mode”. They will be leaving for Florida and “can’t take all of the inventory “ with them.

Got have some space for the new inventory Jill will certainly be getting in florida. She is not on to miss having those daughter models posing on a beach. Nurie included.

You surely do not expect her to endure an entire Ohio winter due you?

Pretty sure one of the reasons Nurie was allowed to go so far from home was so that Jill would have a guaranteed winter vacation.   I mean my goodness the whole of January has gone by and Jill hasn't gone on one single once a year vacation yet.

So maybe Jill should keep that jacket for her young daughters?

She'll probably roam Florida for a couple of weeks before embarking on the cruise at the end of the month. I guess they'll park the RV at Nurie's for the kids while Nathan drives them to Ft. Lauderdale or wherever the port is.

Why do all of the kids need to go to Florida for several weeks?

They might be home next week. That's it, though.

Jill filmed the putting the shop in vacation mode video while riding in a vehicle with a neck pillow. I think they are already on the road and minions Jonathan, Kaylee and Samuel will be shipping out any sales from this "hurry order now" post.

Well, it's not like they have school, scouts, sports, food, or anything else to keep them in Wooster.

I guess Kaylee will have to take care of Jill's dogs and the fish. I hope Kaylee has time to play with the dogs so bored Cinnamon doesn't torment poor Snuggles for  the entire month.

Homebody Jill knew exactly what she was doing when she found a house for Kaylee and Jonathan so close to the barndo.

They take the dogs with them.

Jill also said that the shop will be in vacation mode starting on Sunday, so I assume they are home to deal with any new orders this week. She posted a couple more new outfits. Even she isn't stupid enough to do that if they're already on the road.

Am I right in assuming that Jill leaves her kids in the RV, parked in Nurie's yard in Florida, while Jill and Dave go cruising?  I suppose that puts Nurie in charge by default, while Nathan's wallet purchases food to feed an extra 8 mouths or so while Jill is gone.  I highly doubt Jill or Dave contribute to the food bill before they sail off into the sunset and hit the buffet to their heart's content.
